So my wife and I purchased tickets to this event months in advance. The videos and reviews seemed…read moreenticing. How wrong were we ! We arrived early. Having stayed overnight at a local hotel , we wanted to enjoy what we thought was going to be an amazing experience. So we arrive at said location only to be disappointed by the very , very few wine tastings available. Just TWO !?! The rest of the kiosks were artisans , home improvements , raffle wheel , bouncy house , and mostly food trucks or kiosks. That's it. We literally walked around for ten minutes and it was over. We paid , tickets , hotel , gas , time for this !?! We have attended over a dozen wine events throughout NY , NJ , PA. , and never dissatisfied. This was a scam in my opinion. I'm not knocking anyone who may have experienced a better event elsewhere with the coordinators of PCWFF. Just was appalled at the lack of wine kiosk. Overall we quickly left with two souvenir glasses. And a three hour drive back to NYC. We deserve a refund !

There was a kids party going on in the theatre next to ours which was VERY loud and we couldn't…read morefocus on our own movie. When we complained we were told that the kids were quiet when they were in the theatre, but were running around outside the room. Thats a problem! But actually we were in the last row of the adjoining theater and we could hear them in the room itself. So there is that. We all also thought it was unusual to exit the theater and walk-through the main bar/lobby to leave and see one of the staff men sitting at the bar with an undershirt tank top on. First of all it isn't the summer, but even still aren't they expected to wear their uniforms while on duty? It was very unusual.

I'm not complaining! Loved the large extended leather chairs, great sound and truly what seemed like a private showing -- I mean we're talking 'small,' as in 'tiny!' Pretty cool! The only negative was the fact people (adults) sat on the one side and let their kids go ape $#*! on the other side! Remember, this is a SMALL venue. It reminded me of what I hate about a similar cinema in Pleasantville -- a lot of privileged people on their phones, feet on the chairs, talking... but I digress! Anyway, I can't wait to go back and see something else, and hopefully in the same theater. If I see kids again, I'm getting my money back! I really want to know if the other theaters are the same size or larger. Assuming larger! Oh, parking was brutal -- almost non-existent!

When I did our tour, I received replies and confirmations immediately. Upon arriving, you are greeted by the farm owners/tour guides, Steve and Leda. They are both knowledgeable, cordial, funny, and the entire tour was educational, fun, and wonderful. Aside from alpacas, you'll also be introduced to their horses and donkeys. After the tour, we went through their gift shop, which had everything alpaca. From socks, to hats, and even ribbons of their award winning alpacas. As the pictures and videos will show, I highly recommend this tour and know that you will be thoroughly impressed.

If you're in the mood to take a little road trip out of the city and you love alpacas (and who…read moredoesn't), this is a fun activity! It's a little family farm that offers farm tours for $15/person which you need to arrange beforehand. Leda and Steve, who run the farm, are the absolute nicest and you can tell they really love and care for their alpacas (as well as their two Icelandic horses). They have so much beautiful land to run around on and they're like part of the family, it seems. We were able to go into the girls pen and say hello. The alpacas are friendly and curious but don't necessarily like to be touched so they're very clear about how to approach them. After spending a good amount of time in there learning about them, we went into their farm store where they sell the yarn from the alpacas and various alpaca fleece items. It's a really fun and wholesome experience and, if you have other things to do out in that area, totally worth the time and the drive!

There isn't a guided tour most of the time, but the employee at the front was available to answer questions and we were lucky to come at at a time an intern was visiting and he gave us additional information. If that doesn't happen to you, there are signs and additional information on QR codes. There are a lot of original pieces mixed with period pieces detailing Greeley's family life and his career ups and downs. In addition to that, there is information on the impact he had in the local town and sites/statues in his honor. When I went, there was also a small gallery with Americana items including a beautiful handmade quilt. There is a very small gift shop and a couple of parking spaces on site. It's a pretty cheap price, helps the historical society, and there is also a walking map available for other significant town sites. It's cute and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

This was such a hidden gem on a hot Saturday in Stamford. After eating lunch downtown and doing a…read morelittle shopping, we decided to see what nature trails might be nearby. This arboretum popped up, and so we went in search of quiet and nature. It was super easy to find and very convenient in terms of parking/access. We walked through all the gardens and listened to the birds for quite some time, spotting some other wildlife along the way. It was truly a peaceful experience that we hope to repeat.

There is a large parking lot close to the main area nearby the visitor's/welcome center. There is also a smaller space which accommodates about 5-6 vehicles as soon as you enter...this eaves you closer to the pond trail. Lots of walking paths on the well-maintained grounds. There are garden areas throughout .... be sure to take a photo of the map and/or follow the signs to explore each area. Bring comfortable and hike-ready footwear...especially if you plan on walking on some of the trails. The few staff members I encountered were very friendly and helpful.

It instantly transports me to somewhere in Europe and there are lots of plants to touch, smell, and otherwise explore. It also is adjacent to this cute greenhouse building. I'd love to return with a camera and a few rolls of film. The view of West Point from the back of the gardens is breathtaking. We visited on a Sunday and the back lawn was completely empty. We sat down and fed the baby with that magnificent view in the back. It was so blissful and perfect.

The main building was actually relocated to this site from further south and has a rich history of the initial construction, gradual decay, disassembly, resurrection, catastrophic damage, and aggressive renovation. The main plaster/cement ceiling in the upstairs library actually crashed down one evening a few years ago and damaged much of the home with plaster dust. Fortunately, charitable contributions have helped to restore most of the site as a 2026, except for vintage-era wallpaper and some furniture. We were fortunate to visit after a winter of intensive renovation, which allowed us to get a much better sense of the home. Displays in the adjacent visitor's center and grounds provide some interesting history, but you should really time your arrival to take a tour led by one of the volunteer docents. It is a beautiful home, which I would give 5-stars to if renovations were complete.
