I really enjoyed my food and service here. I was putting off trying the place BUT @daleB review and pictures persuaded me. Sure Glad I went.

I'm giving Amay Kitchen five stars based on the incredible food and caring & kind owners/service. Amay isn't go ping to WOW you with beautiful facilities and modern decor. However, the food is maybe the best Thai I have ever had!! Amay is located in the old Elijah's store. They have only been open two as of the time I'm giving this rating. The facility is very small - only room enough for 24 dinners. The dinning room is very simple...wide open rectangle with comfortable chairs. The tables are spaced out enough to be comfortable. The place is very clean. The decor is very simple. The facility is old and shows a lot of wear despite the fresh paint and wall decor. On this occasion we sat near the door. This was a bad choice on a chilly evening . We sat under the A/C vent which poured more cool air on us. We asked for another table which they gladly did. Another downside of the dinning room is the TV set. It plays a food show based on Thai food - very unique! Unfortunately, it is kinda loud if you are sitting underneath the TV. The menu is very simple. It's nice to have pictures to show you what you are going to eat. The drink menu is definitely oriented to specialty non-alcoholic drinks. I don't think I saw a soft drink or iced tea option. The prices are very reasonable! I found the host and waiter team here very kind. They are learning their business quickly. The professionalism will come. Right now they are they are very honest, kind and very customer focused. They bent over back to make sure we were happy. The waiter checked on us regularly. The host was great at explaining the business and their mission. Excellent job! We started with the crab Rangoon. I think these may be the best crab Rangoon I've ever had!! The wrapper was large and fried to a golden color. The shell was only mildly greasy - enough to give it flavor. The texture was soft and almost flaky without falling apart. The inside had a large amount of filling. Most crab Rangoon only has a small amount as it has to fit in the wrapper. This was plentiful and had a smooth, creamy and distinguishable crab flavor. Most places give you a hint of crab taste...here you could taste it and see it! My wife had the Pad Thai and loved it! The noodles were nicely cooked to give it enough texture to grab with a fork but not too hard. The sauce and ingredients were fresh and slightly sweet. I tried some more...cold for breakfast the next day...still excellent! My wife also loved the sticky rice and mango. It meet her expectations. I don't generalize the texture of sticky rice sink can't weigh in on the taste here. I had the Massaman Curry. I love the taste of peanut sauce and curry. So I always get this if it is on the menu wherever I go. I have to think that is the best Massaman Curry I've ever had! The vegetables were soft with a sight crisp and fresh. The beef was sliced thinly and cooked to a mild consistency. No real seasoning that I could detect since it was smothered in peanut sauce. The sauce was thin and a mild peanut flavor. There was enough peanut taste to flavor the dish but it did t dominated the total taste or drowned out the other items. Incredibly done!! I encourage you to give Amay a try soon. This is a start up business that could use a lot of success quickly. Amay, or mom in Thai, is an outstanding cook! I don't think will be disappointed!! And..the team here is very kind and welcoming!

Delicious food and kind server! You order at the counter and they'll bring it out to you. I was there for a late lunch and had the place to myself. I enjoyed my pad thai and samosa. I look forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu.

The food was amazing! I highly recommend for an appetizer samosas & spring rolls entrees massaman curry and coconut soup. You won't be disappointed, price range is $10-20 per person and the service was excellent. If your looking for Authentic then you must check out Amay's because from the moment you walk in, sit down and enjoy your experience everything about your experience will be authentic from the yummy in the kitchen to the decor inside the restaurant. Amay's Kitchen is a great Thai restaurant and the location is amazing for ones that ate at Baan Thai restaurant and possibly are still searching trying to find that Thai food replacement. . . Well search no longer this is something that's worth checking out!

Not too hard to find with plenty of parking. The place is moderately large and can accommodate a group of 6-8 pretty well. The inside is decorated nicely to fit the Thai flair. Things were clean, orderly and food repairable for a small shop. Don't be alarmed if dishes sit on tables unbused for a while. It appears that they only have one waitress/host/bus person. Things sat a long while on this busy visit. The menu is fairly large and has many of your standard Thai dishes. The prices were reasonable. You feel like you got a good value as the portion sizes were decent and most things came with soup. The soup was your standard. Not much to distinguish the taste. It was pleasant, warm and tasty. I started with the Tod Mon Goon - which is basically a mashed shrimp patty that is fried. The shrimp tasted fresh and had a nice consistency for smashed shrimp. It was moist. The beading was nice and thick and fried to a perfect crisp. Just enough crisp to know that it was fried. But it did have a slightly heavy oily taste. The breading was thick enough to hold the shrimp together. The white sauce was very tasty. I thought it would be a tropical-coconut flavor. It seemed to be a Mayo tule sauce with a slight fruity flavor. You really couldn't distinguish the flavors. It had a thick consistency and nicely accented the dried shrimp! My entree was the Tom Yum seafood bowl. The bowl was large and contained a decent amount of shrimp, crab pieces, calamari and a couple mussels. All were gently cooked as they were boiled in the broth. The broth started out mild and got progressively hotter in spice taste. The broth was tasty enough to spoon up or pour onto the small rice dish provided. The tomatoes, mushrooms and lemon grass were nice accents to the seafood. Together they all made an enjoyable taste! In general the atmosphere here is very relaxed. We were comfortable in the booths. The waitress let us talk as long as we wanted. Overall a pretty good dining experience.

The owner is so kind, the service friendly and efficient. The food fresh and delicious! The atmosphere simple, bright, and casual. Shared the cucumber salad to start. One can see just by the pic below how fresh it is... very crisp and refreshing. Not just cucumbers but an actual veggie salad. Husband got the Thai Basil, which never disappoints! He really enjoyed it! I have a hard time not ordering Three Best Friends, as it is SO delicious! Previous photo of this dish shows the 3 proteins (you pick them: beef, chicken, pork, seafood, tofu) of beef, shrimp, and tofu. This time , I chose chicken, shrimp, and tofu. The portion is so generous, I always share some with hubby. Once again, highly recommend! They have a very active takeout business, as well, both pick-up and delivery.

On this occasion we occupied the large group room. The room was cozy and allowed our party to have an intimate room to ourselves. The staff here was very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of help to serve our larger group. They were a bit slow...but allowed us to pace ourselves and enjoy the fellowship. I was impressed that they hustled a child's order ahead of the adults food to keep them satisfied. I didn't see the waiters come back through much after the food was served. On this trip I ordered the steak teriyaki bento box. The box is a bit expensive compared to Other places. However the sinking atmosphere, location, quality and volume...justify the price in my mind. The box came with a cup of miso soup. The soup was tasty and a lot like you would expect for a Japanese restaurant. It did not come with a salad as many other places might. The box was stuffed with food! The steak es piled high and excellent! It was very tender and moist. It had a nice teriyaki flavor marinated in the meat. There were two crab Rangoon pieces and two egg rolls. Normally you would only expect one of each. The crab Rangoon wrapper was cooked so that it was a bit oily and the wrapper was mushy. The filling was plentiful. However I felt like the filling was lacking on crab taste and overpowering on cream cheese. The egg Roll wrappers were a bit more crispy without being too crispy. The wrapper was a bit greasy to taste. I found the filling...while fresh...to be a little mushy as well. There were five pieces of a California roll included. That was a lot of sushi to eat as well. The roll was tasty. It was put together nicely and gave you a good taste of each ingredient.
