We got to try this restaurant finally and it was an OK dinner. Unfortunately there's only one cook so the food does take a while so you do know it's made to order. I agree with other people the staff is super friendly and he came to check on our table multiple times giving us updates as to the delay. The food was OK however I found the Penang curry to be a bit watery. My son really loved the crab Rangoon even though it looked thin it was the perfect blend of fried wonton and filling. Delicious authentic Burmese, Thai, Chinese food at reasonable price compared to big restaurants.

Surprised this restaurant isn't more packed. Very accessible location and quality food. Small restaurant with kind workers. The pad khee mao doesn't leave me feeling heavy or overfull. I do prefer a stronger flavor palette vs this lighter flavor palette but admit the ingredients are fresh. The samosas are the star of the show though. I could easily make a meal out of these. I'm giving Amay Kitchen five stars based on the incredible food and caring & kind owners/service. Amay isn't go ping to WOW you with beautiful facilities and modern decor. However, the food is maybe the best Thai I have ever had!! Amay is located in the old Elijah's store. They have only been open two as of the time I'm giving this rating. The facility is very small - only room enough for 24 dinners. The dinning room is very simple...wide open rectangle with comfortable chairs. The tables are spaced out enough to be comfortable. The place is very clean. The decor is very simple. The facility is old and shows a lot of wear despite the fresh paint and wall decor. On this occasion we sat near the door. This was a bad choice on a chilly evening . We sat under the A/C vent which poured more cool air on us. We asked for another table which they gladly did. Another downside of the dinning room is the TV set. It plays a food show based on Thai food - very unique! Unfortunately, it is kinda loud if you are sitting underneath the TV. The menu is very simple. It's nice to have pictures to show you what you are going to eat. The drink menu is definitely oriented to specialty non-alcoholic drinks. I don't think I saw a soft drink or iced tea option. The prices are very reasonable! I found the host and waiter team here very kind. They are learning their business quickly. The professionalism will come. Right now they are they are very honest, kind and very customer focused. They bent over back to make sure we were happy. The waiter checked on us regularly. The host was great at explaining the business and their mission. Excellent job! We started with the crab Rangoon. I think these may be the best crab Rangoon I've ever had!! The wrapper was large and fried to a golden color. The shell was only mildly greasy - enough to give it flavor. The texture was soft and almost flaky without falling apart. The inside had a large amount of filling. Most crab Rangoon only has a small amount as it has to fit in the wrapper. This was plentiful and had a smooth, creamy and distinguishable crab flavor. Most places give you a hint of crab taste...here you could taste it and see it! My wife had the Pad Thai and loved it! The noodles were nicely cooked to give it enough texture to grab with a fork but not too hard. The sauce and ingredients were fresh and slightly sweet. I tried some more...cold for breakfast the next day...still excellent! My wife also loved the sticky rice and mango. It meet her expectations. I don't generalize the texture of sticky rice sink can't weigh in on the taste here. I had the Massaman Curry. I love the taste of peanut sauce and curry. So I always get this if it is on the menu wherever I go. I have to think that is the best Massaman Curry I've ever had! The vegetables were soft with a sight crisp and fresh. The beef was sliced thinly and cooked to a mild consistency. No real seasoning that I could detect since it was smothered in peanut sauce. The sauce was thin and a mild peanut flavor. There was enough peanut taste to flavor the dish but it did t dominated the total taste or drowned out the other items. Incredibly done!! I encourage you to give Amay a try soon. This is a start up business that could use a lot of success quickly. Amay, or mom in Thai, is an outstanding cook! I don't think will be disappointed!! I love their coconut noodle soup. I get their spicy version of this dish, and it's soooo good since th creamy coconut milk rounds out the spiciness well - also they use rice noodle for this dish and it marries so we'll with the soup. I've seen other types of noodles being used at other places, and I think Amay's rice noodle is the best version iin my opinion. I love their Thai sausage appetizer too - it comes with fresh chilli, and cuts the fattiness of the sausage so well, so be brave and have a bite of that chilli too! I've only eaten take out, but their inside looks very clean and comfortable, and I love their friendly service. Can't wait to go back! read more

Came here because of the super high rating for Thai food. I did not find my food flavors to be on par with the rating. I had the crab Rangoon which was better than most. Home made I would say. But the red curry I had was just ok. I have had much better red curry. I was also disappointed that I could not order a side of Tom yum soup. I had to order it as a meal so I passed on it. I am also disappointed to say I like Nawa better even though it is more fusion than Thai and I love Thai. read more

I ordered Pad Thai with chicken, spicy, for take out. I just got home, there is no peanuts in my Pad Thai and it is bland. Peanuts are a weird ingredient to leave out, and why give people a choice of spice level when you aren't going to use any at all. read more

One of the best places if not the best place I have found for Thai Food. Anyone in the Fort Wayne area should go. The Samosa were so amazing I couldn't finish them fast enough. The Nan Gyi Thoke salad was wonderful and complex. I need to go to level 6 spice next time, had 5, but I eat pepper X sauce so that is me. Lots of dishes can be made vegetarian. I had the cashew/rice dish with tofu. It was really flavorful. Samosas were good too. Will be back!

Excellent food. Spring rolls and crab rangoon crispy and not greasy at all, and served with a sweet dipping sauce, not that neon orange stuff. Delicious soup, and we were offered second servings. Massaman curry and beef pad thai and chicken pad thai were excellent, with more than ample serving size. The service was courteous and friendly, our main server being a very well spoken, polite young man. When I commented on the soup the servers were enjoying on their break, the cook offered to make some for me on the next visit. Reasonable pricing on the food, the soft drink price is high and they have no diet drinks. Recommended!!! read more
