My wife had Thai Noodle Soup. She had a cracked tooth and ordered this soup accordingly with tofu. She reported that although it was healthy particularly with tofu, it was underwhelming. I had fried whole tilapia presented beautifully. The fish, sauce, vegetables and fruit were a delicious combination that I will order again.

Drunken noodle aka Pad Kee-Mao was glistening perfection. Full flavor, thai basil, garlic, the works. Also, it came out in right around 4 mins 30 seconds. Best thai I've had in Fort Wayne so far.

I want to encourage you to try this place soon. They have good food and service. It's a new place that has some odd start up issues. However...it deserves you giving it a chance. Thai Metta is located in a strip mall that is not easily accessed. The parking lot is very confusing. Their sign is prominently visible if you are looking for it. Once you arrive you find an odd set up. The foyer is very plain and uninviting. It's a little dark and the left half of the restaurant is completely empty. It's very odd. I hope Thai Metta puts some effort into hiding the empty half and making the lobby much more welcoming. The main dining are is also very plain. It has more of a diner feel than a Thai sit down restaurant. All that said...get past the aesthetics and get to the food! We started with the crab Rangoon. The cover was more of a pasty type crust than the typical crab Rangoon that you would get at other places. Perhaps this is more authentic - I don't know. The crust was slightly crispy, not greasy and with a bit of pasty softness. The filling was heavier on the crème cheese taste with a small amount of crab and crab flavor. The sauce was typical of what comes with a crab Rangoon. The dish seemed a bit shallow as the pasty crust was wide and stiff and difficult to dip. My wife had the ginger garden. The dishes vegetables were very fresh and cooked to a nice crisp. The broth had a beef flavor with a hint of ginger - definitely not over powering but very pleasant. The dish had a very nice refreshing taste! Like my dish...it came with a large portion of jasmine rice. The rice was perfectly cooked...slight moist texture but not overly cooked. I ordered the Param Peanut Sauce dish. The corn, carrots and broccoli were very fresh and softly crisp. The chicken was nicely cut into small strips and cooked to a tender texture. The sauce was a thin consistency with a rich peanut taste. It reminded my of a peanut sauce style dip that you might get when you order spring rolls. The sauce was thick enough to stick to the vegetables but allow you to spoon it over the rice. This dish can be spiced up as you prefer. I went with mild - which had virtually no spice kick. I would recommend at least one level above mild if you like some spice flavor. On this night we were one of only two couples dinning in at prime time. The waiter was very friendly and professional and respectful. He didn't over serve us as he didn't have many customers to attend to. Well done! Again..the food was excellent. Most entrees will start about $12-16 which isn't bad. Give this place a try!! I think you will find the food to be very enjoyable!

Saw the place is fairly new so I ordered tofu pad Thai to-go. The server said it would be out in 5 minutes--and they did not lie! Very speedy. And super delicious. Thai Metta just might be my new pad Thai spot in the city. The spice level is great too. I ordered hot level and wasn't disappointed. Definitely will be coming back to try other dishes.

Food was superb. Had Tom Khan Soup and it was Filled with chicken and vegetables. My main dish was also great. Very clean and family friendly. The seating and ambiance was good too. The only two draw backs was the location (next to a nasty fireworks store) and that they had lost their liquor license, but they still had that on the menu. Service was very prompt. This most important part, the food, was outstanding.

I wanted to give this 4.5 stars. It's a great place, just not perfect. But Yelp won't let me lol. So I had 3 different orders here, 1 dine-in and 2 deliveries. I wanted to review only after I had the dine-in experience, although the first delivery was enough to impress me. I ended up having too many dishes to put in a single review, so I'll just have a few words about the things that left an impression on me: - Thai tea is great and chicken satay is the sht, just like you'd expect in any good Thai restaurant (even if this one is in fact owned by the Mon people of Burma). - If I have to choose a best dish to recommend, it would be the Kun Chin Fried Rice. It was very smoky and satisfying and the lap cheung (Chinese hard sausage, not sure if this is what they referred to as Kun Chin or not. It probably is) is some of the best stuff I've had. Substantial and savory without being too sweet nor hard to chew. - Pad Siew is great. It reminded me a lot of old Mahnin, before the owner change. Thick, chewy, and extra savory with very tender beef. - Som tum is decent. It looks great and is flavored excellently, not too sweet, not too sour, and they actually respect your chosen spice level. It was pretty barebones however and the chicken is okay. - The Ayutthaya (Thai Noodle) is also great. Better than any phở out there in this town imo and I don't hesitate to say that as a Vietnamese. The beef is tender, cut thick, and the broth is very bold. In contrast, phở broth is typically lighter with more of a beef tallow flavor to it, and the meat is cooked rare and cut very thin. - The "Thai Street Food" is basically their take at a pad gra prao (rice dish) and as far as I know, is considered their house special. I can see why. The flavor profile is simple, but built in a way that you can't stop eating it. The egg is fried perfectly as the star of the show. - Curry is good in general. Very rich and flavorful. - Now the not-so-good stuff. If there's a real complaint I have with this restaurant, it's that a LOT of the non-mainstream dishes are very underfocused? Most of the appetizers were okay at best, aside from the chicken satay. Fried chicken in particular is dry and underflavored and all around disappointing. - They serve old mangos in their curry and sticky rice. Now there's a sour, crunchy type of mangos that is great for sticky rice yet looks quite pale, but this is not that. This is just old mangos. In general, I do highly recommend Thai Metta as things are right now. However, you do have to be selective with what you order from the menu since many of their dishes seem to differ in quality. If you just stay with the mainstream Thai dishes (Ayutthaya Thai Noodle, Pad Siew, Pad most things, etc), you should be okay, though. Oh, and avoid mangos if you can help it. The real reason I cannot give the full 5-stars however is that most of my positive impression ultimately boiled down to "it's the closest thing to old Mahnin", but I believe any great restaurant should display its own identity. With the previous owner of Mahnin preparing a new restaurant, I don't know how much longer Thai Metta can stay as a recommended destination before getting overshadowed. So, one point off for lack of creativity, I guess.

Went today . Yelp said they open at 4:00pm. NOOOOO they don't . They open at 4:30 pm. So we went on a little drive around the area till then. They have spiffed up the dining room. Looks nice . Wide open space still, but I like it open like that. Some places feel cramped with tables too close together. We ordered almost the same thing as last time, except the Shrimp Tempora. Everything was smoking hot and delicious. First time Husband had Pad Thai. He loved it too. I tasted it and it was delicious. My usual Pad See eew was excellent. The Waiter - Cashier is always very nice and always checks on us. Great service !! Wish more people would frequent this place. Keep them in business in S.W. We need more Thai- Burmese places out in this area. Please try them out. Carry out is brisk, but nothing tastes better than piping hot from the kitchen. I know they pack the food well for carry out, but relaxing and being served at lunch and dinner ? Aaah man !! That's were it's at.

Not too hard to find with plenty of parking. The place is moderately large and can accommodate a group of 6-8 pretty well. The inside is decorated nicely to fit the Thai flair. Things were clean, orderly and food repairable for a small shop. Don't be alarmed if dishes sit on tables unbused for a while. It appears that they only have one waitress/host/bus person. Things sat a long while on this busy visit. The menu is fairly large and has many of your standard Thai dishes. The prices were reasonable. You feel like you got a good value as the portion sizes were decent and most things came with soup. The soup was your standard. Not much to distinguish the taste. It was pleasant, warm and tasty. I started with the Tod Mon Goon - which is basically a mashed shrimp patty that is fried. The shrimp tasted fresh and had a nice consistency for smashed shrimp. It was moist. The beading was nice and thick and fried to a perfect crisp. Just enough crisp to know that it was fried. But it did have a slightly heavy oily taste. The breading was thick enough to hold the shrimp together. The white sauce was very tasty. I thought it would be a tropical-coconut flavor. It seemed to be a Mayo tule sauce with a slight fruity flavor. You really couldn't distinguish the flavors. It had a thick consistency and nicely accented the dried shrimp! My entree was the Tom Yum seafood bowl. The bowl was large and contained a decent amount of shrimp, crab pieces, calamari and a couple mussels. All were gently cooked as they were boiled in the broth. The broth started out mild and got progressively hotter in spice taste. The broth was tasty enough to spoon up or pour onto the small rice dish provided. The tomatoes, mushrooms and lemon grass were nice accents to the seafood. Together they all made an enjoyable taste! In general the atmosphere here is very relaxed. We were comfortable in the booths. The waitress let us talk as long as we wanted. Overall a pretty good dining experience.

However the last two times I have ordered their Shrimp Pad Thai the flavor just wasn't there. Something was missing as it was quite bland with the exception of the "spice level". On this occasion we occupied the large group room. The room was cozy and allowed our party to have an intimate room to ourselves. The staff here was very friendly and helpful. There was plenty of help to serve our larger group. They were a bit slow...but allowed us to pace ourselves and enjoy the fellowship. I was impressed that they hustled a child's order ahead of the adults food to keep them satisfied. I didn't see the waiters come back through much after the food was served. On this trip I ordered the steak teriyaki bento box. The box is a bit expensive compared to Other places. However the sinking atmosphere, location, quality and volume...justify the price in my mind. The box came with a cup of miso soup. The soup was tasty and a lot like you would expect for a Japanese restaurant. It did not come with a salad as many other places might. The box was stuffed with food! The steak es piled high and excellent! It was very tender and moist. It had a nice teriyaki flavor marinated in the meat. There were two crab Rangoon pieces and two egg rolls. Normally you would only expect one of each. The crab Rangoon wrapper was cooked so that it was a bit oily and the wrapper was mushy. The filling was plentiful. However I felt like the filling was lacking on crab taste and overpowering on cream cheese. The egg Roll wrappers were a bit more crispy without being too crispy. The wrapper was a bit greasy to taste. I found the filling...while fresh...to be a little mushy as well. There were five pieces of a California roll included. That was a lot of sushi to eat as well. The roll was tasty. It was put together nicely and gave you a good taste of each ingredient.

I know I walked out of there extremely full, knowing I would return. However, the best part of the evening? It was undoubtedly the service that I received from my server. In particular, we discussed one of her daughters, who is apparently an avid golfer despite the responsibilities of tending to her other tables. And she handled that with a smile and with grace. As I was in Ft. Wayne on a golf-related matter, I keyed in on this part of the conversation. Again, it was extremely friendly to meet someone so pleasant. Back to the food - again, it was excellent.
