This place is awesome! I plan to go back tomorrow with friends!…read more -Pet friendly! -This is a order at the counter restaurant -Greeted immediately upon walking in and offered a menu -Cashier was very nice -went and sat down outside and it's beautiful. Lots of tables and lots of areas with games for kids (or adults)! Including cornhole, tic tac toe, checkers. There also a little library full of books (give one, take one) -water was brought to our table as we were sitting down -drinks ordered brought out quickly -I had a custom beverage. I got the Choccy cold brew but switched the cold foam to strawberry and it's delicious -food came not too long after. The pulled pork grilled cheese and garlic fries were amazing! My husband got a salad and loved it. Only problem was they gave tomatoes when he requested for them to be removed but he was ok with moving them out. We also got a potato appetizer with cheese. I can't remember the name of it but it was all SO good. -display window at the register with pastries looked amazing! -they had a little shop with some really neat things. Handmade pottery, local honey, sourdough starter kit to name a few. I honestly can't wait to go back

You know a place is popular when the wait time get longer. The Blockhouse in Saint Hedwig is such a…read moreplace. Known by locals as a family-friendly eatery featuring Breakfast and Linch along with being very good for the price point. Here, you'll find anything from Avocado Toast to Classic Breakfast with Eggs, Fruit and Hash Browns to Bennie's and Chicken Fried Platter. Pancakes and Waffles are also served along with a variety of Bakery treats. The reason for my 3-Stars on this review, is I was looking to just grab something mid-morning on my way home. As I pulled in shortly after 10am on a Sunday I decided to go through their Drive-Thru. I didn't want a full on breakfast but I thought Avocado Toast would be easy & quick enough. It was about 5 minutes for the 3rd car in front of me to get their order, then another 8 minutes for the next car to place their order. Eventually, a young woman came at took the order of the truck in front of me, then mine and the two people behind me. I placed my order at 10:14 (according to the receipt) and began waiting, waiting waiting some more. About this time sitting in my convertible on a humid August morning wasn't so fun anymore. Eventually, I got up to the window where - you guessed it - waited some more. I was eventually told to pull up ahead to the right next to one of the three numbered spaces and my food will be brought out. Perhaps they saw me starting to burn like a French Fry. I waited at least another 5-minutes or so, then, around 10:35, a nicely stapled bag arrived with my Avocado Toast neatly packaged inside. The woman who brought my food did apologize for the wait which came off as a bit insincere as she quickly walked off. I uttered, thanks I won't be doing drive again. Às she turned to say excuse me!? I simply told her I waited a really long time just for Avocado Toast. So, what are some take-aways here? First, it might be a good idea for the Blockhouse to limit drive thru order to only items from their Bakery Case. Yes, this means I would not be able to get Avocado Toast but, with their other Bakery selections - I would find something I would like. Second, an awning over the driveway at the window would be nice as well. And third, I should realize the weekend is not the time for a quick bite at the Blockhouse. This place is much better if you take the time to slow your roll and relax because the food is really this good.

Its got a great outdoor seating area that looks like it's going to be a lot fun in the next few months! I had one of the lunch specials for $10: 4 chicken wings and fries. I was skeptical to order this since I was really hungry, but there was more than enough food! The wings were delicious and sauced perfectly. The parmesan fries were delicious as well. I also had the coldest draft beer I've ever had...no joke! It was Ziegenbock and it was so....incredibly...delicious! Service was friendly and efficient. Overall I had a great experience here and will definitely be back!!

A bit different than the normals Texas fare you would get. A little bit of a twist on the spices that was a great addition! We enjoyed the fun atmosphere! I believe my favorite dish was between the fries and the chicken fingers. To be honest the egg rolls were a bit spicy to my very sensitive mouth. So, I was quite please that the fries had the beef fajita meet..so good and juicy!! I cant wait to get those again! Enough for a meal in its self...and add a salad from the salad bar for some veggies with your meal!

Their brisket is divine and the sides we chose were out of this world. My husband loves their beans. The green beans were unique and I appreciated that they were super flavorful with tomatoes and delicious broth. The star of the show with the sides was the King Ranch Mac N Cheese!!!! I grew up on King Ranch Chicken Casserole as a child. So I was thrilled to have a macaroni with those delicious flavors. For a little history, that particular casserole emerged in the 1950s as a convenient, post-World War II Tex-Mex comfort food. Despite its name, it has no actual ties to Texas's famous King Ranch; instead, it is a creative, canned-soup-based casserole inspired by the Mexican dish chilaquiles. I am ususally underwhelmed by macaroni and cheese but this was the best. The macaroni shape was unusual and the closest I could find online was called "Radiator" because the similarity in shape to a radiator. It held the sauce perfectly though. McKayla helped us cart out our food to the car and was so sweet and helpful. We love Burnt Bean and plan to return!

You cannot try a wide variety of their dishes but it was enough for me. I had pick up at 10:30 and you just go to the back a bit of a wait like 10-15 minutes since they cut the meat to order. I got the brisket (2 lbs), pork ribs (2 lbs) , jalapeño sausage (1lb), and quart sizes of the corn pudding, tater tot dish, and hot cheeto mac and cheese. The stars were definitely the pork rib (super flavorful and tender), the brisket was fall apart tender, and the jalapeno sausage had a beautiful snap and is properly spicy. I was a bit disappointed with the sides. My favorite was probably the corn pudding but I still prefer a nice roasted corn OR a corn bread but this was a very unique combo of the two. The mac was okay and same with the tater tot side (honestly the potatoes were quite salty). The sauce isn't my favorite since I personally prefer a spicier sauce. The bread they have is very nice and the people are friendly. It's also quite smoky inside.
