We were pleasantly surprised on this frigid day to be served a hot cup of fideo even before ordering. That really hit the spot with a twenty knot north wind blowing outside. The place is very nicely decorated and transports you south of the border--well done. My wife and I shared an order of four carnitas mini-tacos. Served with chopped onion, lemon juice, and cilantro, they were good, but needed salsa too. The red salsa had the consistency of ketchup and the taste was off in a way I can't describe. Absolutely fabulous food! The chips were warm and crispy, salsa had just the right amount of kicky bite, and the queso fundido was warm and gooey with loads of char. We were having a 40th birthday Conco de Mayo celebration with family who travelled in from California & Ft Worth, and picked this place a bit randomly, so we were delighted with the quality of everything. The Cadillac margaritas were perfect, strong but not overly sweet. The staff were definitely overworked, but friendly. We had a small problem with a dish we'd asked to not have bell peppers (a family member is allergic), and they replaced it swiftly with good grace. The happy birthday sombrero ritual even included a shot of tequila and a song! If I ever have a chance to end up again in Seguin, I'd definitely visit again. read more

I had the tacos "barbacoa and al pastor" they were delicious, also the beans that came with the tacos were equally delicious. Started with the complementary chips and salsa , they too were good, a nice start for the meal. I accompanied my meal with a lemonade, it was one of the best I've had thus far. Upon arriving you are greeted warmly and they seat you and the bring the chips mentioned. The lady that took the order was quite friendly and kept on checking if anything else was needed throughout are stay, she did an amazing job. We dropped in on Monday afternoon with our young kids when we were passing through on our way home to New Braunfels. The service was excellent, the margaritas were awesome and the ceviche was super tasty! We'll be making a stop in again next time we're in the area. read more

Lots to choose from here. Margaritas were yummy! Soup lacked a lot of flavor but was served in a very beautiful bowl but enchiladas were delicious! Waitress was helpful and very kind and funny. restaurant was clean. the only thing that made me a little uncomfortable were the stalls in the restroom. as you can see in the pic there were alot of very open spaces in the wood i would suggest getting that fixed to the owner. Great Service and Best Mexican food around. We eat here several times a month when we feel like getting out. Love live live the Servers. Our little service dog used to go with us and after he died I was even ask about him. We moved to Seguin in April of 2023 and of all the Mexican food places we have tried this is the one we keep returning to. My husband has Dementia and often needs help getting out of his seat. There is always someone that rushes to assist me. Now days I really don't even need to ask what my husband wants to eat when we go out. lol it's always Mexican food and ALWAYS EL Patrons. With the over abundance of Tex-Mex in Seguin this is our "Real Mexican Food" spot! Great food with friendly service. The take-out is no different in quality than the "inside food". I can't say much because we only had the guacamole and chicharone appetizer. But I brought the chicharrons home for my dogs. They tasted old and poor quality. The guac was half onion, which I did not like. Service was great. Restaurant was pretty dirty for being new. read more

We pulled off the highway to find some good local Mexican food. Found the perfect place. The cheese enchiladas with green tomatillo sauce were amazing! My son said his beef fajitas were equally good . Loved the chips . Our server was Juan who was due to leave for the day before we had finished. He insisted on staying to make sure we had everything we needed even though we told him he should go ahead and go home. The restaurant atmosphere was very pleasant and it was very clean and neat. Anytime we go through Seguin Texas we will definitely be stopping here for a meal ! Local diners here are very lucky . I doubt many people would pull that far off the highway just to grab a bite to eat but I recommend that you do if you're going through Seguin Texas look up El Patron ! read more
