Not bad. Nice and cozy place. Full bar. Our waitress was nice. Place is clean. Our plates were just right. Beans were good, rice was done right. The parking lot is a bit small, the place has a full bar, and happy hour. There is a party room, they were hosting a ladies game night or something. The bathrooms are small. The staff is friendly and quick. No dirty tables. The food came out fast, the chips and salsa was okay. I got the Mexicano plate, chicken fajita and two cheese enchiladas. Normally I would boast about Reyna's. They have great tasting food at really good prices. Their Margaritas are always on point as well. That being said--I normally dine in or will order for pick up and no issues at all. Last night I door dashed because i wasn't feeling well and didn't want to go out. Pretty simple order --tortilla soup and queso. Maybe this is partly door dashes fault, but my queso was cold --not just cold, It had gotten thick already. The soup?? All I can say is please don't put the tortilla chips in the soup -- send them on the side. They were completely soaked and kept falling apart. They soaked up the broth and that made the soup taste bad. Again, maybe door dash took too long to pick up the order and deliver it but please don't put the chips in the food. The wife and I decided to have a date night and we both had a craving for Mexican food. We also wanted to try something new, and being in Seguin, our options were limited. We asked some friends of ours from the area where to go, and Reyna's was suggested. The queso was even dubbed "the best queso in town." Upon pulling in the parking lot, there were a lot of cars. This was starting out great. We strolled in and we were greeted by a "wait to be seated" sign. Glancing around, it was not a very fancy place, however, it had a mom and pop charm to it. It was very busy, so it has to be good right? After a long wait, a lady at the bar pointed at a table freshly cleaned and were told we would be helped in a minute. The wife and I took our seats and waited to be acknowledged. Our section had about ten tables, and one waitress. The waitress also had a runner who was assisting her. The help in our section seemed to be stretched too thin as the server to table ratio did not seem to be proportioned right. After a long wait we were greeted by a nice waitress who brought menus and apologized for the wait. We ordered our drinks and also ordered some queso. Our drinks came back fairly quickly, but the chips and salsa were dragging behind. The runner eventually brought chips and salsa, but no queso. The wife and I proceeded to dive in to the chip bowl. When it comes to Mexican restaurants, the chips and salsa always set the tone for the rest of the meal. If the salsa is good, you can count on a good meal. If they suck, you will regret coming. The chips were the think yellow corn chips. Not my first choice, but no big deal. The salsa was actually pretty good. Not bad. The chips and salsa suggested our meal would be pretty good. We glanced over and saw the runner walking toward our table with queso and were anxious for some cheesy goodness. Well, we would have to wait longer. The runner diverted and took our queso to another table that arrived after we did. So, we wait in anticipation a little longer. We perused the menu and made our selections. The waitress then came over and assured us we would have some queso soon, and the kitchen was making more as they had ran out. The menu was aplenty with different options and selections. The wife decided on the El Grande plate. The plate consisted of one homemade tamale, one cheese enchilada, one bean and cheese chalupa, and one crispy taco. The wife opted for queso on her enchilada as a substitution. Solid choice. Make that two, please. Our queso finally arrived. Eager with anticipation, we wasted no time dunking our chips in the warm golden yellow goo. The consistency was that of what queso should be. The queso was average, but we will need a consult with our friend stating it was the best in town. Maybe he meant the only in town. It was not bad, just eh. Nothing to write home about, but not bad. After a long wait, our food finally arrived. Both plates looked pretty tasty, so we dove right in. The long wait had worked us up an appetite! The homemade tamale, blah... Not too bad, nothing extraordinary.. Decent.. The cheese enchilada, eh, ok.. The taco, eh, ok.. Shell was borderline burnt, but overall, ok.. The chalupa, not sure.. We both were so full, we took it to go. Both of us enjoyed our plates. Full to the brim, the wife and I were ready to pay our check and leave. Again, another long wait. When we did get our check I tried to pay immediately, but was pointed to the bar. We paid our check and took off. Overall, I'd say our experience was average. I wish Yelp had a half star, as I would have given this place a 3.5. The food was decent, and satisfied our Mexican food craving. The service was a lot slower than I had liked, but this was no fault of the waitress. I pinned that on management, as they should have been more prepared and had more staff working, assuming they were not suffering a worker shortage. Would I recommend Reyna's? I would say yes. However, only if you are in the area. This place will get you out of a pinch if you are in the area and have a hankering for Mexican food. I would not drive out of your way to try it. Traveling looking for a Mexican meal. Found just passing by. Arrived before noon - plenty of seating. Fast service. Drinks came quickly. Very varied menu. Had one of the combos - cheese enchilada and fajitas beef. Sauce in enchiladas was mild and kind of bland - good for me I cannot do spicy. Fajita beef - not much flavor but tender. Chip salsa was just a sauce - spicy to me. Chips were warm. Meal took about 45 minutes total. Very busy as we were leaving just after noon. So we went here quite a few times until my parents visiting out of state went to lunch one day and my youngest who was probably 2 or 3 at the time we were eating and my son had a blow pop sucker sitting on table next to him and I was gonna let him eat it before his food came she jumped my case and was like you are not gonna let him eat that before he eats his food she was very rude about it.I told her its really none of her business and that I give it to him to keep him calm so hes not screaming in public while I and my parents are trying to eat since he dont or wont eat much, it keeps him calm so that other people are not disturbed, anyways whatever the case may be its none of hers or anyone else's business if I decide to give my baby a sucker at any point. Then she tried to continue to lecture me about parenting. This is my last child and I have 3 other 2 which already adults so I dont need parenting advice im good. You do the lil things you need to to keep peace when u have children in a restaurant. Its not like I give him candy before every meal but even if I did would mine and my husband's business only, not even his grandparents. My parents were also floored by her behavior as well it was crazy. I used to like their food but service was bad the time before as well but not to that extent and this lady omg she was something else. This kept me from ever going back and I wont. Goodbye Reynas. Had she apologized or anything then maybe I would have came back but on top of that her and quite few of the girls in there not very friendly and bad servers. I'm from out of state. My uncle wanted Mexican and this place popped up on the way from Houston to San Antonio. Service was on point (friendly, attentive, recommended good food and on top of drink refills). Rice was ok, seemed to sit in the heat lamp a little too long and was a bit dry. Dad enjoyed the carne guisado and charro beans. Aunt got the flautas she ate them all and uncle got the enchiladas with green sauce which he enjoyed also. This place is not disability friendly and is very comfortable and confident in discriminating and breaking the law. I tried going here with my service dog and the manager insisted I couldn't without producing a service dog "ID." This is an illegal request and I calmly offered to show her the laws about this on the Texas government website https://gov.texas.gov/organization/disabilities/assistance_animals#discrimination The relevant laws are: "A person is not entitled to make demands or inquiries about the qualifications or certifications of a service animal for purposes of admittance to a public facility except to determine the basic type of assistance provided by the service animal to a person with a disability." And: "If a person's disability is not readily apparent, for purposes of admittance to a public facility with a service animal, a staff member or manager of the facility may inquire about: -whether the service animal is required because the person has a disability; and -what type of work or task the service animal is trained to perform." She refused to listen to me and insisted she had successfully carried out this type of illegal discrimination before. It was obvious did not care about the law and my party and I decided to leave rather than put the children present through an entire ordeal. I plan on taking further action. read more

Things have changed here. I still like it I'm just not over the moon anymore. Some of the waitresses have an attitude and some are sweet. GREAT Food! The biscuit plate is one of the best breakfast dishes I have ever had in my life, and that is saying something! I have been to some of the best and most highly reviewed breakfast spots in the United States, and even overseas. But the one that tops them all BY FAR is literally walking distance from my house! Don't let the outside of this place deter you, this was some of the best food I've had in a long time. I had the Chimichanga with fajita chicken and it was amazing. It came in a perfect portion and every bite was delicious. I came in a group of 30 people at 7:00 at night and they seated us in 5 min. The service was impeccable and everyone was constantly being attended to. Waters and chips were refilled the moment they ran out and the waiters were friendly at all times. No one was disappointed with the food and even the more basic of dishes (quesadillas) were commented on being great. The chicken pineapple salad tasted phenomenal and the presentation was immaculate. Our first visit has been a great experience: I had the "El Azteca Parrillada" and my wife went with the "Ceviche Bowl". Both dishes got brought our very quickly and looked mouth watering. Both tasted very good and we needed a box, since on top of the quality, the servings are on the big side. Next time, we'll go for the "Camarones De La Reyna" - the grilled shrimp in the parrillada had a spice that made them a unique experience - in the positive way. Took my family here while they were in town. We were sat in the back and waited for 50 minutes before our order was taken. No one ever came to check on us or ask if we were okay, we had to go and find someone for a drink refill or some chips. After an hour went by our order was finally taken by another server. Only until another 40 minutes went by did our server come and tell us that should could not complete everyone's order. After an hour and a half of waiting and not communicating properly with us about being out of certain food did we decided to pay for our drinks and go elsewhere. The manager was called and argued with us stating we needed to pay for our food. Food we never received. How any restaurant could give such poor service and expect payment is beyond me. Used to love this place the food is great but the service is horrible. Ever since they put the bar in the wait staff has gone downhill real fast. Every time we go we are seated then we sit there and wait for 15 - 20 min before were waited on while the staff sits there and talks. We tried ordering pick up my husband sat at the bar waiting on the food nobody even acknowledged him sitting there after 20 mins he called and told the waitress he has an order to pickup she was across the counter from him looking at him the whole time. Me and my friend showed up today around 12, we sat down and shortly after we were visited by Samantha, she got our drink order, took a little bit longer than expected but we didn't have anywhere to be so we really didn't care lol she comes back with our AMAZING strawberry lemonade in cute mason jars.
