December 2020 I ordered 2 dozen vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting. The girl on the phone asked if I wanted a color for anything maybe the frosting i said sure, make it blue frosting. My husband picked up the 2 dozen cupcakes, they were super expensive! When we went to eat them they were dry and didn't taste like vanilla! My son was son disappointed! My experience went from Bad to Worse to Terrible with this place! I ordered the cake for the 1st bday party! I provided the exact picture of the cake and got something that looked nothing like it! I wanted the blue and white cake to match the bday theme and instead I got black, white and red pirate looking cake! I have mixed feelings about this place. We have had two gender reveal cupcake batches made by them over the years and they did a good job. One year, however, we ordered custom cupcakes with cream filling for a birthday party. At the party, we all bit in and there was no cream filling, though this had been noted on the receipt that we did order it. When we called the story, the lady responded with "well, did you pay for it", we noted we had. The lady then said "we'll give you a credit on your next order." No apology. Not helpful. I asked around because Bakeries these days just produce crap that taste like cake mix. But since people are too lazy to make things from scratch they settle for what is available and have become used to it. This Bakery is part way between real made from scratch tasting stuff and mass produced crap. I ordered a couple dozen assorted cup cakes for a party I was having. They did all look beautiful and tasted above what you usually find out there. One complaint I heard in general from the guests at my party is why are cupcakes mounded with just as much or more frosting as the cake part? I agree in part. I did notice the cupcakes I got had frosting applied first then more decorative finishes of frosting, it did seem a little more than needed. There was another issue I had that was mentioned in many of the other reviews. poor paperwork or order tracking. They took my name with the order, I also made them read back what my order was so I would not be surprised if it was incorrect. They read it back and it was fine. But when I went to pick up the order and gave my name they asked was it an Elmo cake? how about a .... cake? I kept telling them no it is cupcakes. At first they weren't sure the order was filled, then they thought maybe someone else had picked them up?? But in the end they did find them. But shows poor organization. I wouldn't call what I bought Amazing but it does edge out what most bakeries out there carry these days. read more

DO NOT go to Amazing Cakes in Lakeville. They screwed up my wedding cake so bad, and didn't even apologize- had the nerve to tell me it was my fault for ordering it. They weren't even sorry. My (now) husband and I flew from TX to MA to have our wedding ceremony/reception with my family (508 natives going back several generations- I grew up in Lakeville). We decided to "elope" (sort of) during the wedding planning process- really because of the expense and stress of a big wedding, and did an intimate, Cape/Nautical DIY-esque, pot-luck wedding with my immediate and extended family. Only about 30 people total. I ordered a plain, small (i chose the second smallest size they had), two layer, round, white cake with almond butter-cream frosting a few days in advance. I specifically asked for no decorations. None. Nothing. Plain. No flowers, not even borders. I really went out of my way to be as clear as possible about this. Just bake it and frost it. I was making the cake topper/decorations myself. I was told it would be no problem, and it would be done the morning of the reception. Now before you ask why I ordered my cake a few days in advance, instead of the average 6 months or so, let me just clarify that we did not originally plan to have a cake, because we weren't expecting a lot of people. I picked up a few extras here and there to add finishing touches. The timeliness was not the issue. Absolutely nothing fancy or difficult about this order. They told me it would be no problem, and they had plenty of time to get it done. I made sure to ask them several times if they had enough time to make it, nervous that maybe I had cut it too close. My dad picked up the cake a few hours before the ceremony, and drove it down to the reception spot, and it's *covered* in red, white, and blue decorations. I was in the middle of getting my hair done when I got the call from my husband while he was trying to figure out what to do. I couldn't leave for the reception spot until I was done. Ended up running over the estimated time so I ran late. Thankfully I already had all the decorations ready and set aside and was ready to go on the cake when I got there. So I call the bakery... When I call to ask what exactly happened to the cake, the first girl I spoke with had no idea why it was not done correctly. She took the order, and she swore she had it down correctly. The head baker then got on the phone and RUDELY told me that she refused to make a plain cake with no decorations. "I couldn't allow a cake to leave MY bakery looking like that". That is a direct quote. O_o If you refuse to make them, why did you tell me you could, and then have the balls to make something completely different from what I asked, and CHARGE me for it- unapologetic??? Not to mention that it's your JOB to take specific cake orders and make them the way they are ordered.....DO YOUR JOB, or find a new one... My order was not that difficult- in fact, it was MUCH easier than I would assume most cakes are, considering there was to be no decorations. Then you have the nerve to turn around and tell me I shouldn't have ordered it that way? That somehow my wedding cake order was too substandard for you to "allow" to leave your bakery, because you didn't LIKE what I chose? I could have ordered anything I wanted (cost at this point was not an issue- because we had planned for a large wedding), but I had a specific vision in mind, and was told it could be accommodated. There was absolutely no reason why this bakery should have treated me like this. Whether or not the baker LIKES the cake design is irrelevant. My order is just as important as anyone else's, and I deserve to be treated with respect at an establishment in which I am spending my hard earned money. -_- So yeah. Flash forward. Imagine being completely done in full hair and makeup, in your wedding dress, frantically scraping red & blue flowers off the top of your wedding cake, trying to make it look presentable, while the guests are being seated.... I have some feelings on this one. And I wasn't even *that* emotionally invested in my cake. It was really an afterthought. Imagine if I had been! Good lord. I'm hoping that this review serves as a warning to other brides out there, especially the ones that want their cake to be a big deal. Long story, short: worst bakery in the history of the universe. I have never been treated so poorly, or had an order be intentionally incorrectly made ever at any establishment (non-bakeries included) that I have ever ordered from. Amazing Cakes takes the cake. This bakery will make you have an aneurysm the day of your wedding. Do not ever, ever, ever, ever, spend your money there. All I have to say is, get over yourself, Amazing Cakes. Someone needs to delete all the Cake Boss episodes, and apparently The Devil Wears Prada from your DVR, because it's filled your head with garbage and hot air about what your "standards" should be. read more

I am writing this review solely based on the terrible customer service that I received from the owner herself. So, I cannot attest to the taste, or quality of the product, as I didn't even make it that far. I am from Lakeville originally, and I am throwing a party locally for a family member, so I thought that it would be nice to use a local vendor. I follow this business on Instagram and I am always admiring the creativity that goes into the cakes. However, I'm not really sure how any of these people actually get their cake made. I submitted a request through their website, waited a week, and then followed up with a call. I spoke to the owner, Christine, and she explained that she had been having issues receiving email requests through the website. Fine, no problem at all. We discussed what kind of cake I would like, and she told me to send her some pictures in an email, and that she already had some ideas. I got a price, and we discussed that I would have to pick the cake up the day before because she is closed on the actual day of my party. So, I gathered my pictures, send the email with two different ideas I have in mind, asking for her opinion and confirmation of the order. Nothing. A whole week goes by, I call the store again, no answer. I finally sent her an email yesterday letting her know that I would be using another bakery due to the lack of response. She replies back "Sorry, I am closed Sundays and Mondays". No mention of the entire week that fell between my email and my second phone call. I shouldn't have to chase a business owner down to give them my money, and her lack of empathy when she FINALLY replied to my email was disheartening. I will not be contacting this business again, and I will steer my friends and family away from it in going forward. read more

THIS PLACE IS TRUELY AMAZING!! If you love homemade cakes and pastries, this is your heaven!! They have so many options when ordering cakes, and they even try new things if you ask them!! Plus whenever I go to Amazing Cakes, they have so many cupcakes and pastries!!!! So you can choose anything out of a large number of desserts! They were delicious and beautifully decorated with custom touches such as the school colors and the kids' sports themes.
