One of the funnest nights I can remember - 60 minutes to escape a room by solving puzzle after puzzle from the clues within! What a great and different way to have fun! Spend an hour or less than usual at dinner/the bar/or a nightclub - DO THIS - and then go to your usual places! Talk about "changing things up!" First let's address the myths: if you are claustrophobic or afraid of being locked in a room, throw those fears away! For one thing you can always leave the room if you have to through the door that you entered. Secondly if you are claustrophobic, the rooms are not small, they are large enough for a dozen people with extra space. Plus as I said you could always leave if you had too. So just forget those for fears. Now some important information: they will try to book 12 people per session, so best thing is to get a large group of your own friends, and if possible 12 people. Otherwise you will be paired with strangers, in my case I had great people join my group. But I'm sure there are other stories. Of course if you have an open mind and like to have fun it won't matter anyway. Another thing, some of the rooms are easy, some are medium, and some are very hard. Make sure you sign up for a room that matches your expectations (and skills)! I did the Wizard room with four of my friends and four strangers. What a totally awesome escape room! I couldn't believe the attention to detail and the number of props and items in these rooms. Much more elaborate than I would've thought. Obviously I'm not going to tell you anything about my adventure, but you will be pleasantly surprised with the design of these rooms! There's plenty to do for everyone, if you're smart everyone will spread out and look for clues and report to the group if they find anything of use. I was surprised how excited the group would get when we would solved a piece of the puzzle! I mean this is fun with a capital "F." Really!! Your group is not completely alone. A game master watches over you through hidden cameras. They'll give you a clue if you're completely off track, but they're not going to solve it for you. The room I was in only had a 35% chance of success! And yes we did beat it with nine minutes to spare! We saw lots of groups come out still laughing during their group picture even though they didn't escape. It's just as much fun either way! I did not include any pictures from within the escape room as we were kindly asked not to take any photos. So the only way to see what's inside is to go there! Highly recommended for a different, amazingly fun experience! I would recommend saving the drinking until after you leave the escape room. You might want to use your mind here. After you're done... then go have your drink(s)!! read more

We visited the Amazing Escape Room of Freehold and it was awesome beyond expectations. I've been to an escape room once before and my husband has been to three. My husband and I definitely agree that this Freehold Escape Room was very well done and organized. Your group will be assigned to one of six rooms that were offered by the business. Our room was called "The Wizard". You get a run down of rules, what to know and safety tips before you get started. The staff there were friendly and helpful throughout the process. The room was so interesting and fun and we employed a lot of team work to escape! Our group escaped with six minutes left! After you exit you come back towards the lobby to take a group photo with a choice of a variety of props! We loved it and couldn't stop talking about how much fun it was! read more

Evening Adventurers! I booked this place for a work outing and let me say that this was one of the best times ever! The entire staff were so helpful and utterly amazing! We booked 4 rooms---each for a team for our sales/customer service reps. allowing each group to really use their own skill set to solve the puzzles! We literally couldn't figure out the Wizard room until 3 minutes to the buzzer! We won the event however figuring out the clues were ridiculously hard but yet simple! We tried soon hard NOT to use our clues but the last room we HAD to. Yes there are two room! ** Spoiler Alert!** The parking wasn't bad and finding the location was fairly easy. They allow for large group photos (30+) of people out front. Will definitely recommend this to anyone and large company outings! read more

We did the comic shop room. We had McKenna as game master. First, McKenna said the wiring on the puzzle board was wishy washy and wouldn't light up even though we had the puzzle correct. This delayed us by 15 minutes resulting in us not completing the room. Second, the ninja turtles didn't unlock even though the sequence was inputted correctly. I guess the wiring on that was on the fritz as well. I suggest updating the systems so they work properly upon correct attempts. Hopefully this helps! read more

We booked an escape room as a post wedding activity for the bride and groom and as something fun for close friends that travelled to attend the wedding. Some of our guests arrived at our house a bit late, so we called to let employees know that we were on our way. They informed us that our time will begin as scheduled, so if we arrive late we will only have the remaining time on our clock to complete the room. Since we paid online we were not allowed a refund. Therefore, we were forced to rush to our appointment and play with only 45 minutes, rather than the usual hour. We did not escape the room but would have if we had even 5 minutes more. While we were aware of their late arrival and refund policy and we understand that we cannot hold up bookings for other guests, it was a slow night with many open time slots and we felt that the staff were rude and unapologetic when we asked if there was any way we could have our full hour. To make matters worse, we discovered that the last time slot of the evening wasn't even booked so they could have given us the 15 minutes back but they chose not to. Lastly, we did "The Jungle Escape" room which was an interesting concept inspired by Jumanji but we felt that the escape room was very repetitive. Find the clue... open the lock... find the clue... open the lock. Where as other escape rooms have very intuitive rooms with different puzzles and technologically advanced effects. While this may seem like a bitter review, when we were the ones that arrived late, I genuinely believe they need to work on their customer service. I would've been satisfied if either of the employees simply said "I'm so sorry but we cannot stray from policy. I wish there was something I could do." But their lack of compassion left everyone in frustration. Also, I have attended several other escape rooms during peak hours with a similar policy but they were much more flexible with late arrival. Due to this and my opinion on our room, I will be advising everyone I know to attend a different escape room facility. read more

NOT KIDS FRIENDLY The advertising is a bit misleading. They allow kids, but the games are not for kids! It should clarify that if parents want/need their kids to tag along it is permitted but not necessarily appropriate. Also, definitely the price should be different for children. We chose a room BASED ON the indicated age, aiming to take the kids on an activity that would exercise their brains instead of their muscles. This was a complete disaster. The kids got frustrated because of course they were too young for the activity and the purpose was defeated right there. On top of it, to make things worse, another party joined us. No need for such greed!!!! The money customers pay doesn't justify stuffing a small room with so many people. And then again I go back to the misleading advertisement: the other party too had kids, at age ABOVE the age indicated for that specific room. And yet those kids were frantic getting in the middle of everything and not solving anything. Too much money and got out feeling that Chuck E. Cheese would have been more suited. read more

This location appears to be much better with much more space for the rooms where the games are played. We bought our tickets online which made for a smoother check-in experience. I had a party of 4 without a reservation. I called ahead of time to see if they had room to fit us. They said yes, they had room and be there by 9:00 pm. I arrived at 9 and the gate was closed. I called several times and no answer. I then get a call back 40 minutes later. The lady i spoke to could careless about us driving 30 minutes and wasting our time. All she said was do you want a reservation tomorrow? Do yourself a favor and take your time and money elsewhere read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. My boyfriend and I have been doing escape rooms for years and this was the worst experience and the staff was untrained and unprofessional. The mechanism in one of the puzzles didn't work and it held us up for about 20 minutes. During this time, the Game Master insisted it was working. We confirmed with the GM that we understood the puzzle and we knew how to solve it and she admitted it was finicky. When we asked to bypass a puzzle we got a response from the Game Master, Fuck No, which the staff later tried denying and cover up by making every excuse. Don't WASTE your TIME or MONEY. read more

I had gone with a bunch of co-workers and it really was eye opening how much teamwork is needed for this experience. If you struggle to figure out what to do next the game master who is overseeing the room you are in helps with hints. Our game master was Zach, super helpful and nice! So. Fun. Came to Amazing Escape Room on a Saturday night with a group of 4. We booked the "Apartment" room for 8:45pm. We arrived, listened to rules and got placed in our room with another group. I've done other escape rooms and this one was really well thought-out. The room had a great flow of one puzzle to the next. I was really impressed with the room set up and the authenticity. Our room was The Jungle (think Jumanji). It was really fun working as a team and it was very helpful that there were clues available when we got stuck. We escaped with 29 seconds left! The host was very friendly and the room was challenging enough for adults that you didn't get bored. We escaped with 8 minutes to spare. I would definitely do something like this again. read more

I did the Space For Rent room this was my first time in an escape room, the instructions were clear and everything but the keyboard was broken. We ran out of time because of this keyboard issue even the girl who came to reset the room told us "oh yeah the keyboard is stuck". The place itself feels old and dated as soon as you walk in. You can tell they just rented a building and threw a bunch of props and locks in each room. The staff is young and nice, they are probably the best thing this place has to offer. You can tell that they enjoy their jobs, and want you to have a good time. We did the jungle room. Again, the decor, lighting, locks, and everything else just feels really dated. It's almost like I stepped into a kindergarten class in 1985. For the amount of money they charge they should definitely step their game up. Also, if you're coming with less then 10 people, be ready to be in a room with strangers, which could be fun, or it could be a nightmare, it really depends on who you get. For me, I wouldn't return, unless I was coming with 10 people so that we could get the room to ourselves. We came with 5 people, and there was two little kids in the room, and they were just crowding every puzzle, and basically wasting our time, which means they are wasting my money. Some of the puzzles and locks seem really dated, like they almost don't work. They should really invest in new stuff. Summary: Overpriced (check groupon for deals), Go with at least 10 people, unless you like surprises. Staff is nice, building and rooms are dated. My friend and I did The Wizard with 6 other people. As I am nearing my 20th escape room, I am starting to realize that they allow for too many people, and need to scale down their max participants. I understand that the goal is to make money, but it shouldn't be at the expense of the experience. A fully booked room is typically overkill for the physical space provided. Also, it allows for "too many Chiefs and no Indians" when problem-solving and racing against the clock, especially when with strangers. However, focusing on the actual room itself, this was a great experience. The puzzles were challenging, yet doable. The props were fresh and well-maintained. The size of the room, once fully solved, was comfortable for 8 people. My only word of advice is around the clues. Being provided with clues at the discretion of the staff tends to make the room too easy. Providing the group with a walkie-talkie and stating a 3 clue max is the way to go. read more
