Avoid this place at all costs. Jessica, the so-called general manager, is rude, unprofessional, and completely unfit to deal with customers. She yelled at me over their own repeated mistakes and took zero accountability. They canceled my appointment three times--each time on the day of, with no warning. I am trying to delete my previous review, but not seeing an option to do that. There was a misunderstanding and the owner made it right! Thank you kindly! The tech who came out was very nice, professional, and thorough. He knew his stuff. I was just having a hard time accepting that I might either need a new unit or coolant that was very expensive because it's no longer made. Both options were out of my budget and that wasn't the tech's fault. Again, it was a miscommunication and the owner was very understanding and responsive and compassionate. He said that they had switched over to a new system and some of the information might not have been available, as it had been quite a few years since they had serviced my unit, which they did a great job with at that time! Very disappointed with A-C Air Care. About 5 years ago, I hired them to install a replacement of my central air and heat -- indoor and outdoor units. At the time I was impressed with their service, price and customer service. In April 2021, the air was not cooling to the thermostat temp. They came out and identified freon leaks in both the inner and outer units. They indicated that the interior leak required replacement of the entire coil (it basically was the entire inside of the unit). It was a major job. While under warranty, the labor was hefty but I was relieved at least I didnt have to pay for the parts. The next day, the problem returned -- the air was not cooling. I called again and one young man came out. He checked both units and basically indicated the freon was depleted but not to worry -- which didn't make sense. If the work they did fixed the leaks why would they need to come back out and put more freon in? Sure enough, within a day, it again was not cooling. We called again and this time asked that a supervisor come out. We also called another company to look and get a second opinion. The second company noticed an error in the installation of the new coil that caused damage to the new coil. Where a cap was supposed to go to cover a valve, there was no cap and it appeared when they welded the coil in, they melted the plastic from a cap onto the thread of the valve so no cap could be put on it. They did no work but suggested we see if A-C Air Care can fix it otherwise they said a new coil would likely be needed. When A-C Air Care came out we pointed the valve out. They said they could fix it. However, again it was an all day job for just the repair of the valve. It seems there was more than just the valve needing to be fixed. But, we were patient and at least happy they came out to make sure the installation was correct. We dismissed it as it seemed younger workers were doing the installation before and perhaps the issue was supervision or training. Fast forward to July 2021, we began noticing the flooring around the closet for the indoor unit was warping. We checked the closet and there was water all over. The extent of the warping suggested this was happening for some time. We called A-C Air Care again. This time, they noticed a clog in the PVC piping coming from the unit to the pump. They cleared it out easily, but we asked why this would happen a couple of months after its been replaced. He was insistent that they didnt replace the PVC piping for the pump only the coil inside the unit. We were insistent they did. he basically said he didnt have the PVC piping as being replaced in their records, that we should sign up for a regular maintenance plan with them and it should be checked for clogging once or twice a year. When we pointed out that it hasn't even been 3 months -- so even the 1x or twice a year check would not have caught this, he insisted they only replaced the coil and put it back on us. Following his visit, we found the photos we took during the work. We took before, during and after photos of the work they did. The PVC piping clearly changed and is not the same. So, the PVC piping they installed in April clogged. We sent the photos and an email following the last visit, but no response yet. Hopefully, this last "fix" holds up; but, we now have damaged flooring. The other thing I pointed out was while I didnt have a maintenance agreement with them, I paid for them to come out for maintenance -- likely paying them more than if I did have an agreement with them. You will notice my 5 star review from 2016 shows the PVC piping as well during the original installation process in 2016. The current piping is reflected in the attached. Subsequent communication from the owner seems to indicate a lack of awareness his technicians had to come out and in essence fix and redo the work they did in early April. He again insisted the piping was not replaced based on his paperwork that seems to only reflect the one, original visit. If there was any silver lining, they did not charge me for the subsequent visits; however, those visits wouldnt have been needed if they had fixed the problem correctly to begin with. If I have more issues, I will likely call another company. read more

Joe, Ivan and Hugo were our techs that installed the units. All safety protocols were followed throughout the installation. My heat pump was icing up on Christmas Eve. I called A1C and they quickly got someone out to look at the problem. The tech said that he had to order a part and he scheduled to come out first thing on Thursday December 26th between 8 and 9 a.m. . By 9:30 I had not heard from them. So I called the office and they said that the part wouldn't be in until next Tuesday. It would have been nice to have a call to let me know that. I asked the receptionist if they are open Tuesday since it was New year's Eve. She put me on hold while she looked it up when she came back she told me know they were closed on New year's Eve. the tech had called Monday night but I did not get his message until the next day which was New year's Eve day. He could have come out that day to install the defrost board. so Thursday January 2nd I had to take off of work when he came out. I was very happy with the tech. He gave me a bill of $680. I asked if there was an itemized Bill. He said the office would email me. They did not itemize it and just had a figure of 680 on the receipt. I asked for an itemized receipt and all they gave me was $95 for the service call and the rest was labor and parts. I have asked repeatedly for a itemized receipt. They have stopped responding. I feel they pick the number out of the air. it is an unfair price not competitive not fair. when compared online for the parts and labor it should have been much less. They are not honest and upfront I would not refer them to anyone read more

If you have an emergency air conditioner problem, I recommend you call A-C Air Care based in Elkridge, MD. When we turned on our air-conditioner for the first time on the Friday of Labor Day weekend, nothing happened. We did the standard checks, the breaker, the filter, the kill switch etc. It was the first blasted hot day and I can only imagine how high the demand for all HVAC services was. After several promises of no earlier than Wednesday from companies we dealt with before, I called A-C Air Care and their cheerful office staff scheduled us for the same day. On Labor Day weekend !! Jose' arrived promptly and found the problem quickly. Painters we hired over the winter had not correctly reattached some wires at the thermostat. He fixed it right away and did some regular maintenance checks such as coolant as well. Jose' did not whine about the age of our unit or try to upsell us to extra services. We could not believe how reasonable the price was. I recommend you call them for your all your HVAC needs to get prompt competent service. We will be their customer for life. read more

After using a few other people to "fix" my heat pump issue. I called A-C. I really at that point was expecting someone to come out and say the same thing as too what the issue was. Charge it and then never return. Not the case Here !! A-C Air Care came out and immediately I saw the difference. The technician used actual sensory equipment and slowly in a sequential manor pin pointed my problem. "Your valve on your unit has a leak. I can charge your system now so you can operate and then return the following week with the ordered part, and repair it"" And that's exactly what they did! Not only did they fix my system they reinstalled the outside unit correctly as they had pointed out that the unit had not been installed properly in the first place. Finally!!!! Someone who got it!!! I did not want a "fix" I wanted the solution and A-C Air Care did just that!!. I have waited to write this review because I wanted to make sure that everything they did was going to hold up.
