Can't go wrong visiting Ambakity, like, ever. I've yet to find anything on the menu that isn't delicious. It's the busiest taco truck in Bothell and rivals some of the local sit-downs in terms of quality and portion size (sorry not sorry!!). The only thing I really hate is that the 15-year-old thinks an adequate serving size of street tacos = a triple order. Stumbled upon this place by chance, and was super happy by the tacos I got. Service was pretty fast and friendly. The taco truck itself is very clean, though the signs outside of it are a little deceptive since they are advertising for nearby stores. However, the food had fresh ingredients, fresh tortillas, well-seasoned meat with great flavor ( I got the al pastor and the carnitas), and the quantity of meat they served was generous. I've read so much about this place so I had to get over there and try it. I got an asada taco and a pollo taco. The good: I was really impressed with the size of the tacos and the amount of meat on each taco. Much larger than your average food truck taco. I love the way they do the corn tortillas, do they heat them on a comal until they're a little crispy? I don't know, but much better than just a soft corn tortilla which will often fall apart. I LOVED my pollo taco, it was complex and the chicken was fabulous. The price was fantastic. Really? $6.00 for two gigantic tacos?! Whoever complains about the price needs to go back to 1975. The bad: I wasn't happy with the asada taco. While it looks delicious, the meat was tough and chewy and had ribbons of fat that ran through the meat which made it have a strong beef flavor, but not much of a taco flavor. It just isn't something that I'll order there again. The ugly: Their set up. Dirt, gravel, and a few (3) tables that are set in the dusty dirt. That's all there is. They need to up their game because once it starts raining it's going to turn into a mud pile. Some pea gravel, way more tables and chairs, a covered area with the table there, right now there's only a few chairs there, and perhaps some potted evergreens will make it feel more like a destination and less like a chicken coop sans the chickens. Spend some money on making the customer feel comfortable and you'll keep the customers you've gathered during the summer. Otherwise most people aren't going to risk ruining their shoes in mud just for a taco, no matter how good it is. read more

Ok ok ok, I'm sure I almost never leave a less than stellar review unless it goes beyond my personal tastes/styles. Such as being rude, lying, unsafe, etc. I don't torch anyone in a review. But if it's good, great or outstanding I'm happy to leave a review. I especially enjoy this trucks food. The prices maybe .50 cents or a buck more than many others. However, the quality and portion sizes make for a much greater and satisfying value. It's still a taco truck, so let's set our expectations realistically. First time I had tacos here! Exceeded my expectations and more! I had tacos al pastor and I ordered 4 thinking street tacos, small size big appetite, I was wrong! The size was big and I actually Finished them because they were so good and their pickled onions was amazing great taste and I will definitely go back and make it my go to place whenever I want a quick bite to eat in the area. No. Fresh ingredients, simple flavors, nothing overpowering so you taste all the yummies! I've only been to the Bothell truck location and parking can be tight as the lot is small and shared with other businesses but we've had good luck so far. I can personally vouch for the asada and my husband went nuts for the fish tacos. I'm going back tonight and will try the pastor and lengua. They also have Jarritos and horchata to quench your thirst. Friendly staff, reasonably priced and open till 9 (which is especially helpful whenever you are like me and don't realize you haven't had dinner yet and it's 7p. Their tables with umbrellas are perfect this time of year so you can sit outside and stay cool while you munch on the eats. Still haven't found a Mexican spot in California as good as this, so leaving a review out of appreciation and missing this big time! The service was good and fast. I was in and out no joke, the salsas were of the hook. Be careful with the Habanero one, that one will get you. The burritos were big and they actually had meat, not like other places where they just put like a couple scraps of meat in the burrito and everything else is rice and beans. Good tacos and on the quick!! We'd stopped in here this past weekend. Having passed this taco truck now probably 30 times while out walking. Their brick and mortar location resides in 14th ave down in Southpark (Industrial area of downtown Seattle). While surprised and happy to see Lengua on the menu, sadly they were out. Maybe next time. I'd opted for 3 Asada tacos a la cart, for $3.00 each. While some of the accompaniments could have been sliced a bit finer, the quality of protein was spot on and tacos tasted good and fresh. Habanero salsa came with some heat, also a bit on the sweet side too. 3 was the perfect amount for lunch. We didn't have to wait long, and two others had been in front of us when we'd pulled up to the gravel parking lot. They're just across from Anderson School house in DT Bothell. The two in front of us had also wished for lengua, so hopefully I can taste next time ;) All in all a good first visit having filled the pocket and craving for tacos!! Give a try! read more
