Food is fantastic! Not my favorite place to sit and eat but they have a great variety of salsas on hand in their salsa bar. To-go orders get small samples of salsa but if you want to drown your food in it you'll want to dine in. Location is somewhat convenient a little hard to get in/out of during rush hour. Staff is terrible! No one girl at the front has ever been nice or welcoming. My experience is they are very impatient and seem annoyed when asked questions. I would have given them a 5 if the girl at the register didn't make my last experience so terrible. I'll never go back just to be treated disrespectfully no matter how good their food is. Omar's lost my business but hopefully a fair review earns them new ones and prepares others for what they can expect. read more

I love this place for a quick lunch spot-- I'm always ordering it from DoorDash or popping in to grab my five carne asada or carnitas tacos. The staff are super accommodating for larger groups when we do department lunches here! It's great to go in the summer time when you can really enjoy their outdoor seating and get some sun! read more

I love this place! ALL locations. If you want authentic, flavorful Mexican food, Omar's is the place to go. The employees are always nice, and though the restaurant is a tiny "hole in the wall" they keep things clean and kept. My go to are the tacos. But I also love the fish tacos, burritos (especially the breakfast with bacon), the quesadillas are outstanding! And this is my first time getting a torta - it was delicious! I've never had anything I didn't like here. Oh, their Pollo Asada is amazing as well! I also really love their pickled onions and carrots. They are so flavorful! I'm sad that they're not as spicy as they used to be; there used to be habanero peppers in the onions as well. But I understand that most people probably couldn't handle that, so I understand them toning it down. Bottom line if you want a pretty, well manicured restaurant with American Mexican food, go to a big chain. If you want authentic Mexican food, come here! I really hate to see so many negative reviews by people who clearly don't want authentic food, or know the struggles of a small business with only one person working the front. A friend recommended this place if I wanted Mexican food. Omar's didn't disappoint. I ordered the lunch special which was 5 tacos and a drink($10.25). I had the choice of fried pork, spicy pork or chicken. The meat was cooked and seasoned well, onion and cilantro were mixed in with the pork. A little cheese or hot sauce would've been nice. Ordered tacos to go and they wanted to nickel and dime you for extra condiments besides the tiny amount of salsa they provide. Like any taquerias, they have a self serve condiment station filled with salsas, limes, and pickled veggies. I went to get myself a few limes and some pickled veggies as they were not provided with my order unlike other taquerias. The girl working the counter came over and said that they sell pickled veggies and they charge a fee for extra salsas. She stated that the self serve condiment station is for dine in only. Since when is the condiment station for dine in only at a taqueria? I have been coming to this location along with other taquerias for years and have never been told that the condiment station is for dine in only. When I asked about the changes, she was rude and her words were "it's always been like this and other places did too since she goes out all the time." I felt like I was being discriminated against since I'm not Mexican or Spanish speaking. I will not be returning and I would suggest others not to either. Has to be the worst carne asada I've ever had in my life. The inside was full of a very strong cleaner like bleach and tables were sticky / had hair on them. We came here noon on Saturday. This place was busy. Most or the tables were full and there was always foot traffic picking up orders. I would say most orders were to go. I ordered the 5 taco special with carnitas. It came with a soda. I have to say the tacos were excellent. It had a decent amount of meat. The meat was crispy and delicious. The veggies were fresh. Husband ordered the burrito plate with the spicy pork. He said it was pretty good. A bit smaller than other Mexican restaurants though. There is a 1 dollar credit card fee. It also took some time for us to get our food. There is also only bottled water available as far as I know. The restaurant is pretty small. This restaurant has become my Mexican Food Restaurant in Washington. The tacos and other food items are amazing. The menu is simple but the food is executed perfectly. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I ordered the Asada, Carnita, Pastor, Barbacoa, and Quesa-birria tacos. All the tacos had good flavor, but the Asada, Pastor and Quesa-birria tacos were remarkable. I ordered a side of rice, it was literally the best rice I've had in a Mexican restaurant. I've been here a couple of times. It's really a disappointment, mostly in the food quality and quantity categories. They have some of the sauces to go but they're the smallest little portions ever. It's nowhere near enough for the rest of the plate. The last time I ate here I think there was perhaps some cross contamination or something but it was quite unpleasant for a couple of days. I'll consider it a fluke. I will say, the carnitas here were good, and they were nice to offer a couple of other tasters along with the plate. I'm just not a taco guy since I don't really do carbs, but it was a nice small bite/taste of other offerings. (this is why I gave it the 2nd star.) It also seems to have limited inconsistent hours; I'm pretty sure my friend and I checked the hours on Yelp or something ahead of going once and they were closed. so one has to sort of hope they're open at a convenient time. And, no matter what the ticket price is, they'll add a fee to use credit card. Best to use cash to avoid the fee and guilt-trip tip for to-go. I really wish this place was still the Sugar Shack. It was much better as a casual diner than it is the Taqueria. There's a lot of better Mexican/Taco choices not far from here. Would suggest to consider another location. read more

Simply the best taqueria. The best meats and fresh ingredients, with tasty sauces. This new location has a larger menu. This is their new location on 196th. The 99 location started out great, then seemed to change quality and staff. That older location is probably good for a local breakfast or lunch, if it's still operating. I still can't say I recommend the enchiladas. I expect soft tortillas on those, with sauce poured over. Omar's version has crunchy tortillas with the sauce baked on. read more
