We had our very old AC unit replaced by Rob and the folks at Ambient Air. Our system was pretty strange so they had to put in extra work to get it all straightened out, and no extra charge for our unique set up. When we had some concerns after installation, they responded promptly (at night) and made sure everything was right. My A/C broke right before we had a mini-heat wave here. My dogs don't do well in the heat, so I needed these guys out here fast. They got here in a week, their first open appointment, and had my A/C working in about 20 minutes. The technician arrived within the promised window. He was professional, efficient, and quick. After completing the work he explained what had broken and gavme some general tips to make the system more effective and prevent future failures. I can't comment on price, however, because the repair was covered by the home warranty. In terms of service and repair quality, I strongly recommend these guys. They are no-nonsense professionals who employ good, knowledegable techs. I'm revising my rating from five stars down to one. Fewer than ten days after the repair, my A/C stopped working again and displayed the same symptoms. Again during the hottest period of the year. I called Ambient to ask when a service tech could fix the repair and was told it would be at least two weeks. What is frustrating is that the original repair did not work, and I was put at the bottom of the queue for an additional repair. I stand by my comments about the quality of the service technician, but under no circumstances do I suggest ever using Ambient Air for a repair unless you enjoy giving your money to a company that is unconcerned about proper customer follow-up when their service fails. read more

Was told $89 for initial visit and diagnosis. Also $89/hour. Technician came the next day. Scheduled for a 9AM-11AM time slot, no updates about being late and arrived about 11:20AM. Person over the phone apologized, which I appreciated. Said that they will provide a discount. Technician Identified that a broken capacitor was the issue. Fixed it in less than 15-20 minutes. After looking up the process of fixing a capacitor and it's cost. It is a $12 part on amazon, from posts online it seems that I could have done it. But, of course I had to work, can't stay at home. Being that they were able to come with the part the next day, that does justify a higher price. I guess I'm not familiar with pricing with HVAC services, but 20 minutes of work for $150 (minus $12 part)? It just didn't feel like a discount. From various places I called, they were lowest in pricing. So, credit that to them. But perhaps this industry is over priced? read more

** DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM** Ridiculously unprofessional. Was provided a window of 11am to 1pm for A/C repair. Called in 'sick' to work so that I would be able to wait for them at 12:45 - got a call from Kim (the appointment maker) stating that they technician is not able to come until 4pm. I asked them why they are bumping me until late in the day and she immediately became rude and decided to cancel my appointment. I do not believe there is a monopoly on A/C repair and will gladly take my business somewhere that I am valued read more

As a General Contractor I have used Ambient air exclusively on both residential as well as commercial projects, both new construction and retrofits for several years and I must say that Rob and his crews have always been very professional and pleasant to work with. They are always on time and should an emergency arise causing a delay they are on the phone apologizing profusely. They always present in a clean and courteous manner and always leave the jobsite as clean if not cleaner than when they arrive. I also use them for my personal needs and they always seem to find the time to fit the job in, sometimes on weekends or evenings if needed (though I rarely ask). The office manager Kim is always very pleasant and returns my calls promptly and she herself appears to be fairly knowledgeable in the HVAC trade. I have always found their pricing to be very reasonable and they will never try to upsell you on services you don't really need as many contractors will. I highly recommend their services. read more
