Since then, they've serviced the almost 22 year old system at my home, nursing it along. With each semi-annual "check-up" service, they advised me on what I needed to do, and what could wait. When funds were tight, they suggested stopgaps to help. Because of this history, when Alex showed me that my heater was leeching carbon monoxide into my home, I knew I could trust him. While I waited for my appointment, I was provided with space heaters gratis. This IS an independently owned business, and they treat customers like family. Ozzy (Osvaldo) and Anthony installed a new heat pump and air conditioner for me last week. They were at my home three days. Not only were they professional, friendly, and polite, they were also respectful of my home--taking time EVERY day to cover my carpeted areas, covering their boots as they came into and exited the house, and cleaning up any installation debris before they left each day. Ozzy and Anthony discovered that a part of the original system was not going to work as efficiently with the new system (the dampers) given the difference in the size. Ozzy explained the difference to me, noted the cost, and the pros and cons. He didn't pressure me to upgrade the items but he made sure I had enough information to make a decision. At the end of the installation, Ozzy took the time to show me how to use the new digital thermostat controls and gave me tips on how to use the system economically. He provided me information on how to follow up if there were ever any problems. Just like other times, Vic called a few days later to see how things were going (I missed the call, but still...so so kind and thoughtful). It's a lot of money to replace your entire HVAC system, no matter which company you use, but hiring one where you know you can trust the company. Simply put, you'll never have worries about trusting Elite Comfort Systems.

The person who answered the phone was professional, patient, and courteous, even as I worked through my concerns and asked some repetitive questions. At no point did I detect any frustration or impatience, which I truly appreciated. Jazz was also able to schedule an appointment for the following day. Joe was assigned to provide my estimate. He arrived on time and had a great attitude from the start. He was patient and willing to listen to all of my concerns, answer my questions, and discuss different alternatives. Before leaving, he provided a detailed quote with different payment options, which made it easy to understand the choices available to me. I requested the consultation because I was experiencing water hammering when using multiple fixtures. Since diagnosing water hammering can involve a process of elimination to determine the underlying cause, I received different opinions and recommendations from the plumbers I consulted. Jazz recommended installing a new water hammer arrestor along with a washing machine box. One thing I especially appreciated about Joe's explanation was Jazz's no-frustration guarantee. As it was explained to me, if additional issues arose during the repair process, Jazz would address them at no additional cost. My primary hesitation with moving forward was that installing the new washing machine box could require cutting into the wall. I was advised that Jazz would replace the drywall, but I would need to hire someone else to finish the mudding and painting. I understand that this may be standard practice in the industry, so I don't consider it a negative reflection on Jazz. It is simply an additional project that I am not interested in taking on at this time. Ultimately, each plumber who provided me with an estimate had a different opinion about what might be causing the water hammering. Given the uncertainty surrounding the exact cause, I decided to start with the simplest and least invasive solution: installing a washing machine water hammer arrestor, which was recommended by another company. Although I ultimately decided to pursue a different approach, I had a very positive experience with Jazz throughout the consultation and estimate process. I especially appreciated the excellent customer service during my initial call, the quick scheduling, Joe's professionalism and positive attitude, his willingness to listen to my concerns, and the clear options and pricing he provided.

Last Fall (or was it the year before?) our furnace stopped working, and I called Cali HVAC for service. They sent Oleg fairly quickly, and he did a good job repairing it; in fact, he proved himself to be very conscientious when, after replacing a circuit board that fixed the problem, he didn't like the way one part on the board was oriented, so he came back and replaced that board with a different one that fit better. He could have left it as is, since it was working, and I probably never would have known. In addition to fixing the problem pretty quickly, Oleg was also very informative and polite, answering all questions with patience and no attitudes. It seemed that the upstairs just did not cool off enough. One company wanted us to completely replace our AC unit which was only a few years old. When Pete's HVAC came out he came up with an idea that sounded pretty good. He re-did our ducting and changed the location of the thermostat to upstairs? He then changed where the intakes are located, helping to eliminate the noise by our family room and giving the AC unit and furnace better air flow. The cost was very fair and of course much lower than a new unit. We now get a decent air flow in the house and we are much happier. The response time was excellent and I feel we have found our new AC vendor.
