Incompetent, Deceptive, and Lazy Inspection - Avoid Infinity HVAC Services Corp!
**Rating:** 0 / 5 Stars
If you are assigned **Infinity HVAC Services Corp** or their technician **Eddie**, ask for a different contractor immediately. Eddie conducted a completely incompetent, superficial inspection of my central AC unit, fabricated wild assumptions without performing basic diagnostics, and submitted a report to my home warranty company that was filled with blatantly false claims.
Here is the "expert analysis" Eddie and Infinity HVAC submitted:
* **Direct Quote 1:** *"The unit is missing its dedicated electrical line and was connected to another appliance and directly to the electrical panel."*
* **The Reality:** My AC unit is powered by a dedicated 50 Amp double-pole breaker located on the main electrical panel directly on the wall right next to the unit. According to the California Electrical Code (CEC Article 440.14), a main panel with a dedicated breaker within line-of-sight serves as the legal disconnect. Eddie couldn't even bother to look at the main panel mounted two feet away and claimed it was "connected to another appliance." It is physically impossible for a central AC to share a circuit with a household appliance without tripping the breaker instantly.
* **Direct Quote 2:** *"The condenser is also heavily covered in paint."*
* **The Reality:** It wasn't paint. When the run-capacitor thermally shorted during heavy summer use, it started smoking. I discharged an ABC dry-chemical fire extinguisher to suppress the smoke and prevent a house fire. Eddie mistook **dry chemical fire suppressant powder**--which easily wipes off with a damp paper towel--for "paint." He didn't even touch the unit or test the residue before writing his official report.
* **Direct Quote 3:** *"The unit experienced a significant power surge..."*
* **The Reality:** There was no utility power surge. No other electronics or breakers in my home were affected. The capacitor experienced standard mechanical and thermal breakdown under heavy summer load, shorted internally, and melted adjacent wiring--the textbook definition of normal wear and tear. Eddie guessed "power surge" simply by looking at burnt wires, without running a single diagnostic test.
Eddie's lazy walk-around and completely fabricated report were clearly designed to give the warranty company an excuse to deny a legitimate claim. This company displays zero technical knowledge, zero attention to detail, and a complete lack of integrity.
