SMOKED BRISKET SANDWICH - $13 Slow smoked brisket, coleslaw & BBQ sauce served on a brioche bun
Katherine D.

We were in the area and happened to stumble across the Ambulance Brew House. The smoked brisket sandwich caught our eye, and we had to order it! Oh. My. God. It was absolutely amazing. Hands down one of the best brisket sandwiches I've ever had in my life. The brisket was tender and extremely flavorful. I included the coleslaw on top, and it was perfect. An absolute must if you're in the area; I need to come back ASAP!

Nice beer spot!

I went to the Nanuet Street fair and discovered the ambulance brewery they had Excellent Pilsner beer! I also tried the Octoberfest which was also very good. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The place was small but very nicely decorated. They had a really nice back patio and the street had tables set up. Up the block was a bandstand with a local band playing some really great music. This was a great place for a nice evening. The crowd was awesome and I had a great time. I will be back next year for this annual street fair.

Wings and rib combo w coleslaw. Very heavy on the mayo slaw.

So this place is a little odd. The bar does not have bar stools. Which is fine for me because I love to stand but I like to have the option to sit. When you look at all the people standing at the bar from behind, it almost looks like a bunch of dudes lined up at a urinal. The chairs at the tables are so uncomfortable you almost feel like you HAVE to stand to get away from the butt ache. Food was decent - nothing to party over but still good. Extremely smoky flavor. Bar pie is big. Decent amount of taps but Growler and Gill still has more quantity and more quality beer selection. The beer tastes crisp and clean. You can tell they take care of their place. Overall a good time but I suggest bringing a cushion for you bottom!

Spinach&artichoke wrap. Comes with a pickle$&a basic plate of chips. $10. Fresh$ tasty wrap. Love the moZZ AND Spinach combo.

Its small and cozy, but has a great selection of craft beer on tap to choose from. Not sure what something tastes like but are intrigued by the name and description?--then ask for a sample. 5 small glasses/flights will cost ya $12, but thats pretty awesome since you get a taste of everything. There are NOT any seats at the bar, so grab a table while you can. The food menu is small, but has various things to choose from. The mozz and artichoke wrap for $10 was tasty and hit the spot. Sadly, there isnt much to eat her for non-meat eaters. HOWEVER, i am coming back and enjoy that dessert pizza. Ive also heard good things about their bar pies.

The Ambulance Brew House was once a local ambulance core, but has since been converted into a brewpub. I've had it bookmarked since I saw it across the street from my barber, so I went on a Saturday night. They have a large tap selection (20 taps), with many beers I had never heard of. The interior is small, but they have a nice outdoor patio with couches, tvs, and high tables. I picked up a flight from the bar and brought it to their outdoor area, where a waiter took our food order. I did like their house brewed ale, and I like how they served my flight on a chalkboard tray. For food, we got the bangers and mash, BBQ sampler, a bacon with ranch drizzle bar pie, and the campfire dessert pizza. The two pizzas were amazing, but the other items were passable. If you're coming here, stick to the pizzas and beer.

Flight, so cute

Cool spot, always a lot of beers on tap and staff is kind. Food is kind of pricey though and somewhat mediocre for what you pay.

Nothing worth eating on the menu, and the staff are more concerned with talking about comic books than beer.

Ask the Community - Ambulance Brew House

Dog Friendly? Inside or Outside?

We do allow dogs outside on the front porch and in the back beer garden as long as they are leashed. Water bowls are also available upon request.

Any Vegan options?

I believe beer is vegan

Do they have a fireplace?

I didn't see one inside but outside in the Beer Garden there is a long high top table that can seat probably 12 people that has a gas fire down the middle of it.

Hit em with a claw. Chomping down at the jaw I roar a raw roar of surprise and roar so joyous in nature that it reminds a chicken that it was once a Tyrannosaurus rex. Always remember who you really are under that grease ball facade you keep. The years have served ya well, Burger Loft. This classic was scrumptious. One of the best double smashed I've had. Not overly salty, not overly greasy, not too crisp, not undercooked, super juicy, great taste, perfect amount of cheese and a nice homemade sauce on a solid but undemanding bun. I love an undemanding bun that deserves some funk and crunk out of some quality meat. Woof woooooooooof. Awooooooo. Oh no. The blue moon beckons me. I must wrap this up quickly - You won't like me when the clock strikes midnight. Simple. Traditional. A classic. Burger Loft - A true BILF. A fine wine. Not too comfortable. Service was generally fine. Our server took care of us in the bar area, but she also had to deal with tables in the dining room. She did a good job. There must be another bar somewhere else because it seemed like our drinks weren't prepared behind the bar. They'd take a while to prepare after ordering and then come trickling in from somewhere else. The pickle chips, shishito peppers, wings (dry rub and buffalo), chicharon, were all great. Everyone especially liked the bee sting flatbread. The Queen flatbread was rather basic and not too popular, but I think it's supposed to be plain. Something else disappointing for me was that they don't have happy hour specials or a happy hour menu. Everything had to come from the main menu. Not much incentive for a group hitting the local spots for a fun happy hour.

The empanadas would have been very good if cooked a bit longer since they were a bit gummy inside. The shrimp ceviche was served in red sauce and was absent of a decent amount of shrimp. It was tasty but more of a salsa rather than a ceviche. The rib special lacked the promise of the flavors of the chipotle bbq sauce that was promised and described in the menu -- the pork lacked flavor. The chicken Milanese appeared to have been deep fried in a fryer rather than pan fried per tradition. This made the thin slices a bit tough and chewy which was unexpected. Disappointing that I didn't listen to my server who tried to steer me in a different direction as he advised. We haven't been wowed here the last three visits but will give it another shot in a few weeks to see if things have changed for the better. Listen to your servers, people!!
