We're in the area staying at a hotel nearby and this came up well-reviewed with decent prices. We were very pleasantly surprised with delicious food, good prices, great drinks, great service with kind a waiter/bartender relaxed but cozy atmosphere, and an incredible dessert (the lemon cake). This is clearly a locals spot and I wish it was local to me, I'd be here all the time. If you're in the area or visiting it, this is the spot to hit! I've been here twice and everytime it's been great. This time around I met the owners and they were amazing!!! They are patient and helpful. I trusted them and they did not upset. Was super hungry after going to Woodbury commons and couldn't find a place near there with a kitchen open past 9 so we came here. Service is very nice but slow so be prepared to wait. Crowd was very nice and a good atmosphere. They have a pool table also which was cool. The dumplings here were pretty expensive at $10, they were good but definitely tasted the same as the ones I get in the frozen bags. The wings here were ok, pretty standard sauces. The Reuben here was very tough meat. I wouldn't order that again, tater tot's were banging best part of the meal for sure! read more

We stumbled upon this little funky bar/restaurant driving back to Virginia from a visit up north. We planned on going to Warwick, but the spot we wanted to go was closed, so this was literally our Plan B. We needed to ease nature, and we were suffering - so it was appropriate that we stopped in Suffren NY. We breezed into this somewhat dingy little joint and grabbed a hamburger and a couple beers. We were tickled that the restrooms were dubbed "Donnie" and "Marie" with autographed pictures of the sibling Osmonds on the doors. They were surprisingly clean. While we waited for our grub, my hubby enjoyed ping ponging his eyes from one TV to the next, catching snippets of the NFL footballs games being broadcasted. It was a hoot watching him shift from the Giants/Eagles to the Patriots/Jets his head turning back and forth like he was watching a tennis match! We sat at a high top near the casual bar which was filled with sports fans, good 'ole boys and beer lovers. I could almost hear someone call "Norm!" We also had a nice view of the pool table and the game that was being played. They also had dart boards, lots of neon signage, murals, a charging station and a jukebox. This was a cool, local pub that was comfortable and welcoming. Our burger was delivered with a slight smile and it was hot and tasty. The buttery brioche bun was lightly toasted and delish. The fries were piping hot, crispy and yummy. The little side of Cole slaw was fresh and tangy. All and all a really good All American meal in a chill atmosphere at a decent price! We stopped in for Sunday brunch over Memorial Day weekend. They advertised a bottomless mimosa on Facebook which was a deciding factor for us to visit Plan B for the first time. We opted to sit and eat at the bar and were promptly greeted by Nick & Andy. We ordered two bottomless mimosas, Eggs Benedict, and the Charbroiled French Toast with a side of bacon. Food was all delicious, we really enjoyed it! They have a TouchTunes jukebox which allows you to DJ the venue from your barstool on your phone. We had the pleasure of meeting and having nice conversation with the owner Fletcher and Paula just prior to leaving. He was really nice to have conversation with and has done a great job shaping Plan B to his expectations. Inviting and friendly atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Met up for double date night here. I'll preface this with we are foodies so expectations are always high. The setting is awesome, a typical Irish Pub/Dive Bar feel. Bar tender was nice, knew her stuff however asked for a credit car to start a tab with two other people in the place as if we were gonna ditch in the tab, even telling her we were there to have dinner. No biggie. While waiting for friends to arrive we started looking over the menu mentioning items we might want and they were out of two outta 4 items we wanted. Sit down to the table and order apps and when served they told us they only had half orders left (took it off the bill which was nice). Then meals came and was awful. Felt as if they went shopping at local grocery freezer section and either microwaved or fried the food. Bill time came and they couldn't push us out fast enough, not ever asking if we'd like more cocktails. I hate posting bad reviews, as I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but will not be back here. read more

Not sure I even know how to begin...other than to say WOW! Traveling on a Thursday night late, looking for something lite to eat and a few drinks. The hotel provided a list of places to stop within NJ...but at 1130pm-12am places where already closing. Yelped a few places and found one 1 1/2 miles away...Plan A wasn't working...so Plan B it was! They where open till at least 2am and my beautiful wife and I decided why not. We went in and sat at the bar, ordered some drinks and the nicest bartender heard our story of our long day travel. "Sam" turned on the best customer service experience for a restaurant I've had. He turned the fryers back on for us to make us some wings and empanadas. He made us feel welcomed and understood our plight of being hungry after traveling half the night. to Sam! Thank you for treating us like family! So here's the part in my review about the food and place I'm going to absolutely rave about! The wings were absolutely delicious. It had great flavor, it was moist and delicious and it was done the way we like...just a little extra crispy. However the empanadas were "slap your momma" good! Man O' Man...the first bite was like knowing you have discovered maybe the best first bite you'll ever have up till that moment!! They were crispy and filled with great flavors of savory and spicy meat...but wait...there was a sweetness factor. They put a banana in it. That was a difference maker and a big difference it made. That empanada went from good to absolutely amazing when you took that bite. The food was so good that before we left the next day my beautiful wife and I decided to grab lunch. Thank goodness we did. The owner "Fletcher" was there as well as the cook "Steve". We had laughs and we heard stories of two amazing people lives. Fletcher is one cool owner with a history lesson of his remarkable life. Steve came out to make sure our food was good and had some time to chat with us about his remarkable life's journey. These two are doing what they want to do how they want to do it! My husband and I decided to try this restaurant because we were looking fo a new restaurant in our area, and the menu looked interesting We decided to share braised shift ribs, with mashed potatoes and grilled Brussel sprouts as well as a chicken tender appetizer. My husband called to order based off the menu online. A few moments later they called back to inform him that the braised short ribs were actually not an entree., but accommodated our original order. Perhaps the restaurant should update its online menu. At first glance the beef portion appeared on the smaller side, but once we cut in we realized that it was more substantial. I'm going to be honest looking at the menu it wasn't a big menu I wasn't sure what to expect. We started with chicken dumplings and they came with a sauce and we also got the chicken wings with jack Danielle's bbq sauce. My husband got the burger and I got the prawns on Texas toast (they have an appetizer portion and an entree) with Alfredo pesto sauce and since I got the entree it came with a salad that was very good. We went for restaurant week in our area. This is a neighborhood dive bar but the restaurant week menu looked pretty awesome so we thought we would go for it. There is a large bar and a dining room that also includes a pool table and dart board. So yes it fits the bill as a dive bar. The restaurant week menu looked good. My partner enjoyed the ravioli appetizer. My steak was tasty but not tender. The folks here are very nice and friendly. I have to admit that, throughout the meal, I kept looking at the sliders being served to other tables (from the regular menu), perhaps a sign that when in a dive bar, stick to the dive bar menu!! I suppose there is a reason behind the name of this establishment as it would not be my first choice at all. I met a friend there and it took nearly 20 minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink. It was not by any means busy. There were only two people playing table bowling and four other people at the bar who had already been served and a couple sitting at a high table behind us and two people playing pool. Getting a drink in under five minutes should have been easy considering there were two bartenders behind the bar at the time who seemed to be more interested in chatting with the presumed regulars and each other. We did not feel welcome in the least. Just when we were ready to show ourselves out after 20 whole minutes of being ignored, we were finally acknowledged; so, we acquiesced to stay for a single round and quickly left. First impressions are rather important but even as a plan b venue... my friend and I will go through at least half the letters in the alphabet before succumbing to Plan B for a second time! read more
