AMC Avenue 16 is my favorite movie theater in the Space Coast area of Florida. The inside decor is very beautiful and the service is very efficient and friendly. Not sure what in the WORLD is going on with this theatre. The last few visits over two weeks have been a disaster with regard to the air conditioning and restrooms. Theatre 9 is a furnace. Usually we have to take sweatshirts and extra socks in to the movies ( definitely the case with the Melbourne theatre) but this one is often the opposite. Restrooms are unusable...make sure you empty out elsewhere before you visit--all toilets don't flush, wadded up with paper, same gross situation with the urinals. Not sure how the poor employees deal with this mess every night at closing, or if they're getting a plumber in constantly. This is my local, easy to get to AMC in fancy Viera so the conditions of the theatre really surprise me. Would hate to see it close and wish they could at least update those bathrooms and air conditioning. read more

This is a great movie theater located conveniently in a wonderful shopping spot. There's a ton of parking and it's easily accessible. The lobby itself is huge and has a nice wall of posters next to the arcade which lends itself to great photo ops. Speaking of which there's even a Photo Booth like before. That was a nice touch. The theater staff was friendly and purposeful in their interactions. It came off as sincere and was a nice change of pace compared to every day life. The popcorn was fresh the theater was big the chairs were comfy and yes ofcourse I sprung for popcorn and a drink- how could you not. This is my go-to spot for movies and it will continue to be. Tip: I purchase my tickets through their app and as a rewards member there's a shortened line off to the left side where you have less of a wait. Depending on my schedule I'll even order my popcorn and drink so it's off to the right side for mobile order pickup. There's a receipt attached so that it's easy to identify. read more

This was the worst theater I have ever been to. It was so hot and stuffy in theater 9 and really the entire theater, I had an asthma attack and had to leave. Theres no place to sit down outside the theater either. The whole theater gave prison vibes. It was very dirty too. $32 for two tickets too. I will never return to this theater. read more

Dan at the ticket checking desk was fantastic. What a nice person to have as a greeter for new guests. We saw Mufasa in the large theater. The seats were comfy. No recliners but nice high backs. The sound was great. It started off a bit loud but once the movie started is was the right decibel level. Popcorn tasted fresh. There was a station to add your own butter. Everything was tidy. It was a Tue, so we got discounted tickets and snacks. Very reasonable cost for the night out. I believe we got the discounts because we had an AMC account (free version). Parking was easy. I rounded down to 3 stars. Upfront, I have the AMC Premiere card, so that bumped it up a little, but not enough for a 4. Overall, I would say it's more like a 3.5, but Yelp doesn't do halves. The location is convenient, the seating is usually enough to not miss a showtime, and that's about it. Some of the seating needs some maintenance, some screens have stains on them, the bathrooms can be messy, and I've experienced sound or video problems on more than one occasion. Their paid memberships make it worth going here. I get the overall state of affairs here though, with less people going to movies these days. You can see the COVID shift away from theaters everywhere you look - from the extra unmanned ticket booth and concession stands to the few AMC faces you see while you're in the building. I hope theaters survive. I love watching a movie from beginning-to-end with an audience who will simply watch the screen without a pause button to disengage them with every little distraction. read more

So unfortunately, yesterday on my birthday,I had a terrible experience at this AMC . The lights were not turned down for the entire film. The sound quality was very poor. The customer service was just lacking. The popcorn was not fresh but tasted older. I had been excited to go for my birthday. We were looking to take a break from the beach and from sightseeing, so we figured we'd catch a movie. Even though we could've gone to a closer movie theater, I went with the AMC Avenue 16 because I figured the AMC name would result in a top-notch experience. Not so much. The theater is just so rundown and unkempt. Everything feels like it's falling apart a little, and even the restroom was in rough shape. (It didn't help that it clearly hadn't been cleaned in a little while.) The auditorium itself didn't fare much better. The seats were practically bursting at the seams, and the screen had a weird line down the center of it. Far worse and more problematic was the fact that the movie wasn't in focus on the entire left side. It was infuriating. I don't know how locals tolerate a movie theater this shabby. Gone is the day of walking up, buying a ticket and sit where you want in the theatre. Now, you prepay and have assigned seating. HOW IDIOTIC! Gone are the days of having multiple refreshment counters open with candy, popcorn, drinks. Now, you stand in 1 ridiculously long and slow line to buy a cup and popcorn. Then you take that cup and go stand in another line to fill it. The lines are long and slow. It is the dumbest concept I've ever seen and will NEVER EVER step foot in another AMC theatre. The theater itself has a cool atmosphere iv seen two movies here Minecraft and most recently sinners broth pretty expensive but enjoyable the theater I saw sinners in sucked tho the screen was dim and had wear lines but I enjoyed it so id recommend it if the oaks isn't open lol read more

This AMC location (it used to be a theater named "Rave") is located in heart of the Avenue Viera amongst an array of restaurants and shops. It's about an hour away from Orlando and worth the trip to explore the ever-expanding area. Although the Wi-Fi is a huge issue ( and "no" - I'm not using it while watching movies. I'm talking about their Internet being so bad that their app struggles to communicate with their system when you purchase tickets online), their staff have been nothing but helpful when problems arise because of it. This is a pretty typical AMC/general movie theater - with bright decor and the smell of buttery popcorn wafting through the air- and it's pretty clean. They also have a small event space (think kids' birthday parties). There rarely seems to be anyone working the ticket booth, so head to the concession to purchase or redeem (if there is no one near the entrance) your tickets. Yes, this can be a bit of a hassle at times, but I've been to other movie theaters that have this system as well and at least the staff are friendly and helpful, so I don't mind most of the time. So, an overall good experience with a couple of annoyances, but no deal breakers that will prevent me from returning. read more

You can also buy them where you get your snacks. I did appreciate that they had caramel & cheddar popcorn. The seats were comfy. Average prices. Not your typical AMC... and that isn't a good thing. Unfortunately this AMC theater really doesn't cut it when it comes to the experience that you have come to expect at other AMC locations. First of all, you can tell instantly that it wasn't originally an AMC. They did a quick overlay from a "Rave Theater" which then turned into a Carmike Cinema before it became AMC. Lots of weird touches including a bizarrely big and dated looking entrance area, party areas which look like they haven't been used in 10 years and an overall look and color scheme which is frozen in the early 2000s. They are apparently pretty slow most of the time and the box office appears to be permanently shuttered. While there were 5 employees hanging at the entrance and chatting, you have to go to the concession stand to purchase tickets where there is only one person to help. Even though the AMC A*List program has been in place for a year, the person helping seemed throughly confused and didn't really know how to process it. She then seemed annoyed that I also wanted to order popcorn! Meanwhile the line built up behind me with no one else to help. The theater itself was fine and clean with comfortable seats. The projection was HORRIBLE. Very dim with lots of flickers during bright scenes. I have a feeling the projector hasn't been updated in a long time either. Overall, I am glad that my local AMC has a much better quality standard, because I wouldn't be back if this was my only option. read more

Mediocre at best, the bathrooms were pretty gross and looked like they haven't been cleaned in several hours. They didn't have any cheese for nachos, pretzels or pretzel bites. We rented out a whole movie theater to avoid being around other people do to Covid . We were able to push the showing back from 4:00pm to 4:30pm which we're grateful for. They definitely up-charge everything. For 2 beers, 1 hotdog, and Mac and cheese bites we paid $37.00. Pretty pricey. Just go for the regular popcorn and drink. To save you some money read more

Unfortunately, there was a mishap with our movie. After 30 full minutes of previews, the lights come on and NOTHING... Seven people in theater, one gets up and informs management there is an issue. 5-10-15 minutes later others start calling on cell phones to theater. After 30 minutes, my wife and I are the only ones left in theater and we walk out. I find manager(?) a kid, who lets me know he is moving picture to another theater...there is no one left to move and it is now after 10 pm for a 9 o'clock movie. I ask for a full refund of my ticket price + the $18 I spent for a soda and popcorn. It was if he did not even listen as all I got was my ticket refunded. What a waste of hard earned money and a good Saturday night..... And to top it off, whatever was playing in theater next to ours was so loud, it came through the walls during the half hour of previews.... read more

Undoubtedly the filthiest movie theater I have ever been in. The floors and counter tops were covered with popcorn and butter. The mens restroom obviously hadn't been cleaned in a long time and wreaked of urine. There appeared to be plenty of friendly staff but lack of management was obvious. I went into the movies a few days ago in Viera, and this young blonde lady with some tinsel in her hair, looked like a manager, seemed like she was never taught customer service. She doesn't smile. She has a rude R.B.F! She didn't greet me, then proceeded to treat me as if I'm not welcomed there. She talked as if she'd rather be doing something else, as if this isn't her job that SHE'S getting paid for! Tried to be nice and mature because my kids were around, but she made it VERY hard with her attitude and her rude facial expressions! Will not be returning to the AMC theaters in Viera. my wife and I went to see Fly me to the Moon. The movie is PG-13, however, we were inundated with 30 minutes of rated R previews and advertisements. Some of the previews were very offensive. This rating is based on the professionalism of the manager and the staff. We arrived for a 715 showing. Nice location, nice theater and excellent service at the concession stand. At 735 there was no one else in the theater and no movie previews. We went to the concession stand along with another person from another theater who his movie had not started as well. The manger spoke to us and said she would take of it. About 5 minutes later, she came back and apologized, the movie disc had not been delivered to the theater. She gave us a few options and we opted for a refund. We will try again this afternoon. She was very apologetic and professional. We chatted for a few minutes more and left. Worse theater i've ever been to. A group of annoying teenagers were talking throughout the ENTIRE movie and had no sense of courtesy for anyone else in the theater. The theater felt dirty and the seats were uncomfortable. The sweet tea tasted like tap water with a sprinkle of sugar added in. I hear the food isn't all that great. There was no one to tell you which movie room you were in and none of the signs that display the movie name were on so we were walking around trying to find our movie room for a bit. read more

This theatre has changed its name and owner several times. It is a comfortable and clean theatre. However, they have made two recent changes that I do not like. #1. You have to pick your seat when purchasing your ticket. They print it on your ticket. ( in small print so you have to get out your glasses to read it). Then you go and sit down and even if the theatre is not busy, and there are plently of seats, but of course it ends up with people sitting on both sides of us so we're packed in like sardines while the rest of the theatre is empty. #2. They no longer list which movie is in which theatre so you have to go get your glasses out and read the small print to see which theatre you should go to. I think I'll just go elsewhere so I don't have to sit like a sardine, and sit where I like. read more
