I'm surprised this place has low stars honestly. It's a cute bar that they try to keep hidden-- fine by me, I mean we all found it so it's not that hard. I love finding speakeasies when I travel. Yes, you do have to book it on Instagram but when I was there, people were knocking on the door and because they weren't busy they were let in without reservations. There was one bartender who was making fancy craft drinks so it did take time. It looked like they had a small food menu, but I didn't get any food and I don't remember what was on the menu. Been wanting to try this, given it was Father's Day Weekend, my son suggested we give this place a try, glad I did... Kinda fun that you have to knock on the door to get it, it has that prohibition-feel to it, and once you walk in you become transported back to the early years of the previous century. High tops mostly for tables, and one small section of leather couches and chairs, along with a small bar, makes up the very small but cozy insides. Drink-wise, I cannot complain - our bartender made our drinks potent - and I do mean potent. We are rum drinkers so we had the two rum selections on their main menu - the one I can't recall but the other was a Flaming Mai Tai - both were delicious. I had researched the place and was under the impression that you could order pizza from the neighboring pizza parlor you can get too (especially if you have to use the bathroom.) Sadly, you can't, but you can get some finger foods - we had the goat cheese stuffed dates wrapped in bacon, as well as the buffalo spiced rolls - it was supremely delicious. Overall, it was a very relaxing vibe, I would say that they should probably consider having two bartenders on staff as the gal that was taking care of us was working the room hard - but she still did a great job. The Oleander is a small speakeasy in the Eau Gallie Arts District. The room holds about 20 people. The atmosphere is fantastic. It feels like your in a secluded and private club. The drink menu is very unique. I have not seen another one like it in the Melbourne area. The cocktails are incredibly crafted and taste amazing. I would say the average drink is about $12-$18, but is well worth it in my opinion. This is my new favorite experience. I plan on making a monthly visit to The Oleander. Note: You do need a reservation to get into the Oleander. You have to contact them through Facebook or Instagram. I don't have Instagram and I barely use Facebook, so I was a little irritated. I tried to make a reservation in person because I was already in the area, but my request was denied. Was told phone reservations were also not accepted. I understand they are trying to maintain a certain type of format to obtain entry, but I'm pretty sure they did not need social media or the internet to get into a speakeasy during prohibition. I have it figured out now, so I'm good. :) That being said, I highly recommend The Oleander. I think everyone should give it a try. read more

So there is this interesting little bar located on Highland. You have to make a reservation via Facebook messenger to request a time in advance or they won't let you in. Once you have a time confirmed your good. Just knock and they open up and let you in. Its a charming bar that has that Great Gatsby feel. The lone bartender will come and take your drink order, there are also small bites available. She masterfully whipped up some incredibly impressive cocktails that weren't just delicious but visually appealing as well. Sit back, sip away, and let the music drift your mind back to another time. read more

Drinks were very good. I would say it is more ideal for brown liquor drinkers but there were some great white liquor choices as well. It's a nice quiet spot. Small on the inside. Service is good. We held a corporate event here, in collaboration with FM Pizza. Without question, the staff was extremely accommodating. Those who weren't even assigned to our party came and asked how best they could help and serve. This staff is second to none. The dedication to impeccable hospitality is extremely evident. We made a reservation using Facebook Messenger, and got a confirmed time back. We show up, knock on the door, and a very visibly flustered woman answers. I told her we were here for our reservation, and she tells us to wait and shuts the door on us. A few minutes later, she opens up the door and lets another couple in and then looks at us and says she doesn't know who has been making the reservations for tonight, but they're completely overbooked and at capacity. No apology, no anything. She tells us we can sit outside on the patio furniture and she'll serve us there until a space opens up inside, and that was the last time we ever saw her. read more

Terrible customer service. The process to make a reservation is nonsense - you have to reach out via social and we waited an hour to hear back regarding availability. I could live with that though if the remainder of the experience was better. The kicker was the incredibly rude woman who answered the door when we arrived. She didn't listen, talked over me, had an attitude when we arrived early and mentioned our reservation, and then shut the door in our face before I could explain anything further. So I contacted them in advance, asking about dress code, if food is served, and if you need reservations. You show up there- the entrance is locked, no one answered the door, people outside wondering what is going on, no sign or anything- luckily, a couple who was waiting to be allowed to go in out of the heat (dress code smart casual) told us they were waiting for their reservations (which I contacted them about and was not told we needed them) which were past due for them already. Worst offense to customers I have ever experienced not to mention locking the entrance door is a fire hazard and illegal- pretty soon you won't have to lock people out as there won't be any waiting to go in. Bartender was swamped between serving all the tables, making the drinks, and also opening the door for reserved parties as well as turning away those without reservations. There was a lot of chaos going on between the bartender trying to do her job and random employees from next door coming in to take prepped garnishes or ingredients or seemingly making drinks for themselves. It significantly interfered with the bartenders ability to do her job and there was also clearly animosity between the employees.
