My daughter and I stopped in for lunch to try them. SO glad we did! Very high end looking inside. Very clean. Service was good, but our waiter was in training and had not yet learned to keep an eye on his tables for refilled drinks or dessert offering. He will learn. My daughter had a nachos plate. It was big enough for four hungry people! She said it was very tasty and filling. I ordered the Triple Tamales appetizer. One salsa verde over pork tamale, one white cream cheese sauce over chicken tamale, one refried beans over beef tamale. It was not only very tasty, there was so much that I had trouble eating all 3. They have sopaipillas on the dessert menu, so we tried them as well. Not SW NM-AZ puffy hollow triangles to squirt honey into the middle, but yummy nonetheless! Definitely a return to restaurant! 28 Feb 2026. On this evening we set out to try El Tesoro Cocina Mexicana Restaurant. The food and experience was wonderful as the restaurant was celebrating their "One-Year Anniversary." The place was packed and fortunately we were able to be seated right away. The service and staff were friendly and helpful with our menu selections. Our waiter (Ricardo), took care of us with all our food needs. We ordered entrees of "Arrachera" and "Grilled Steak Enchiladas." The food was delicious! No disappointment on our choices all had a great tasty flavor. To cap off the meal, we also enjoyed a yummy pineapple cake with ice cream desert as well. El Tesoro is a delightful, lively modern Mexican eatery with a large menu! We tried the appetizer Chipotle Chicken Tacos, Carne Asada Street Tacos & the Chicken Chimichanga; all delicious! I also tried one of the spicy margs - it was so pretty & delicious as well! Surprisingly, but maybe not so much with the popularity of them these days, they have an espresso martini on the menu! We tried it and.... it was good! They have a huge selection of margaritas and classic cocktails. The service was impeccable! I would say this is a bit pricey for a local Mexican joint, but the portions were appropriate & filling and the wait staff work hard to put on an enjoyable dining experience! One of the most important aspects of finding a great social setting for a farewell is coupling the quality of the restaurant with the quality of the food . As such El Tesoro, Cocina Mexicana was exactly what we were looking forward to a big farewell to a dear coworker. The reservation process was easy and seating. A large table was barely an inconvenience. We had excellent customer service from start to finish despite it being a busy Friday night. Beverages were topped off, chips and salsa were restocked, and the table was checked in on multiple times. I went with a beef option and was glad I did , because the steak was clearly a quality cut both in preparation and in taste. The vegetables were fresh and you can tell they were prepared with quality seasoning. A coworker even noted that you can tell the quality of the place by the integrity of the Salsa - the vertex extends true! It's clearly homemade made with fine ingredients. Pretty good food but next time we'll skip the drinks. $16 for a margarita that was so loaded with ice that there was barely any drink in the glass. Not even a slight buzz. Food came out fast once ordered. Tableside guac was good. Tierra y Mar was good not sure why they asked how we wanted it done because it's just thinly sliced steak. Service was friendly. Honestly the best Mexican place in the Suntree/Viera area. Insanely great portion sizes for what you pay for, kind staff, food is actually authentic and my tummy didn't hurt at all after eating it! I had the El Tesoro bowl which was so much food (and tasted great too) my wife and I had multiple leftovers which is another plus. We went at 6:00 PM on a Thursday. Service started off great. Our waitress was upbeat and friendly and took our drink and app order promptly. Drinks were also delivered quickly. My wife enjoyed her margarita, however my Negra Modelo draft tasted stale. When ordering our dinner my wife asked for the taco plate and wanted 2 beef and 1 chicken, this was not allowed. All tacos had to be the same protein, not a huge issue, but a bit bothersome when paying $17 for 3 tacos, rice and beans. Once the food was delivered, the tacos had plenty of beef filling, but little to no cheese. We wanted to ask for a bit more cheese, which would have made the tacos much better, but our server didn't return to check on our food or drinks until the meal was over. I had the carnitas plate which was delicious. Overall the experience was "close but no cigar". Especially when you consider the meal, tax, and tip with one drink for each of us totaled $97.99! read more

Heard good things about this new Mexican restaurant and gave it a try last night. The atmosphere is very nice with ample seating available. We were seated promptly and our waitress (Dulce) was quick to take our order. We asked for recommendations and she described a few of her favorites. An initial look at the menu appeared to be a bit pricey but I must say, by the end of the night I was very impressed with the size and quality of our meals. They were all absolutely delicious! I had the Mexican Street Tacos with Ribeye Carne Asada and fresh made tortillas. Fabulous! My wife's chicken burrito was loaded with tender, juicy chicken. The quesadillas our granddaughter had were stuffed with steak as well! All in all a great experience and we will be back soon! read more

We are so happy that we find at El Tesoro this evening! Everything was perfect from start to finish. THE FOOD The menu is huge! The food is fresh & presented nicely. I ordered a veggie bowl & hubby ordered steak enchiladas. I was delighted to see the presentation of the meals. This isn't food from a container that is slopped onto a plate. It's obvious that clean presentation is expected from this management & I definitely appreciated that! THE SERVICE The hosts & hostess greeted us immediately & happily sat us right away. They also all said goodbye when we left, offered us a mint on the way out & genuinely acted as if they appreciated our visit. Our waitress was high energy, happy, & knew her menu well. She didn't push us to order anything that we didn't want and was very aware of our needs during our meal. We didn't have to ask for anything. Even when the waitress wasn't around, all staff that walked by was aware of our table & seemed prepared to assist. We were offered extra chips by someone who noticed that we were running low. The staff was all dressed nicely, with tucked shirts, clean appearances, & moved quietly with a sense of urgency. All ages were working and it seemed that morale was high. THE ATMOSPHERE The restaurant was clean, the silverware was clean, & there was plenty of lighting. There are lots of booths, but also has regular tables, high-top tables, outdoor seating, & a large bar. The music playing wasn't too loud, & the color-scheme & murals made it a fun atmosphere. Everything seemed to have a place (e.g., the table-side guacamole cart & high chairs) and everything seemed to be placed in an organized fashion. My initial impression is that this restaurant is being ran by a management team who cares & has high expectations - And that is exactly the type of restaurant that I want to dine in.
