I've been going to this location since it was originally The Rave and I genuinely remember that name carrying weight. "Oh, the local theater is converting to a Rave" meant something back in my old hometowns (Destin and Crestview, respectively). I've watched this place get bought by AMC and slowly become worst. To be honest, that happens and you learn to live with the lowering of expectations as this is happening in many industries. I'm even an AMC rewards member because, hey, you have to get into every app and system to try to find a deal to make things barely as good as it was. Why I'm leaving a review is due to what occurred last weekend. We buy the tickets online, go to the theater, and the staff warns us "hey, there is a leak in the theater. I'd check it out and if it's leaking over your seats we can give a refunds." (this is why I'm adding one star because I want to point out the staff is pretty great lol). We get in and, yup, there are several visual and audible leaks in the theater. I'd have walked but I brought my kids to see Toy Story 5. "Alright, now we watch movies with a little rain in the theater" because that's how it is. However, towards the very end of the movie, actual ceiling tiles collapsed and fell at the front of the theater. I look at kids, who don't want to leave right at the very end of the movie, and end up standing for a few minutes ready to block potentially falling debris because....well, if you have kids, you know how they are. As a heads up, if your movie is showing on screen 1, I'd just skip it. Paying $45 for 4 people to listen to rain and watch collapsing infrastructure? Lighting unfortunately struck and our theatre was unavailable. This was for the Spider-Man movie that came out today so tickets were purchased online to ensure we could secure tickets and seats not in the first row because everyone knows those seats are not good. From scanning the tickets the solutions were unclear from the staff. Then we were in line for refunds and the worker that helped us was entitled and acted like she was doing us a favor. Let's be clear, she was doing her job, her job is not a favor nor an inconvenience. we also did not even received the entire amount we paid. We lost over $15 over this. Finding a solution was incredibly hard because the staff was rushing and being rude. Her attitude ruined my experience. While the lighting was not her fault or in the staffs control. The staff's response with kindness (which didn't happen) was 100% in their control. This was disappointing. read more

So we decided to take the kids to a movie one afternoon. We purchased our tickets on line and paid the extra fees for processing? In any case, when we got to the seats selected on line, and someone was sitting in them. So, we found different seats. Seems like this is a recurrent issue after reading some of the other reviews. The theater is definitely dated. Seats could use some TLC. On the other hand, the snack bar attendants are friendly and efficient and the place seems to be kept pretty clean. In the future I think we would just buy our tickets there to avoid the extra fees, especially if our reserved seats aren't actually reserved. read more

This is a great theater. They always have good times, they don't mess up the movie with awful errors. It's a solid theater with a really, really, really good IMAX. I saw The Batman opening night, March 2nd here. The IMAX, the atmosphere, the massive crowd of people who actually care about film. That was the best experience I've ever had in a theater. The IMAX is amazing and it's easily the future of the movie theater since seeing that. The Batmobile turns in that you feel that. The Batmobile scene actually made me drop some of my popcorn. Went to see an iMax movie. Felt like i was in early 2000s by how the theatre looked. It's outdated, doesn't have the nice comfy imax seats, but the biggest complaint was the movie was blurry and multiple people had the same opinion. I thought imax was supposed to be crisp and clear. I'm not sure what went wrong or why it wasn't addressed during the movie. And let's not even talk about the $11 bag of popcorn and $13 nachos - i've had better food for hella less money. I see why theatres like this are struggling. They should just go ahead and close this place down and start over somewhere new. I won't be coming back to this theatre. read more

This place used to be fantastic, but the new management is garbage. You can see that the best reviews are from a year or more ago. The place is fairly dirty, but the real problem is the INSANE volume in the IMAX auditorium. My ears are ringing. They ruined my first viewing of Deadpool & Wolverine. I literally couldn't even stay to watch the cool credits with the behind the scenes footage, I just had to leave and spare my ears any more pain. Absolutely horrendous, and the customer service isn't good either. The only thing useful about this place now is that it's big enough for new folks in town to easily find the Mellow Mushroom nearby. The prices have also become ridiculous. But it's that awful, ridiculous volume that really kills it. Can't stand it. Awhile back I watched Godzilla: King of the Monsters when this place had good management and it felt loud and powerful, without being poorly balanced. The website advertised a discount rate the only way to buy a ticket was it at kiosk and it was full price $2 more than advertised . I really go to the movie . I went to get a popcorn . It was $10 for what they call a medium . And it was not fresh . There was no direction as to where my theater was . Luckily I saw someone and they directed me . The theater was Ice freezing cold . I was the only one that was not wrapped up in a blanket . This is totally unacceptable . If I was not $20 into the experience I would have left . I am a little disappointed with this AMC... Compared to other AMCs I've visited around the U.S. this one is definitely not in the top 20. It is run down and outdated. Only 1 IMAX and the theater is not updated like many of the other ones I've visited. Even the small town AMC I go to when visiting my grandmothers town has the reclining seats and updated interiors... the bathrooms are also always dirty and out of soap/paper towels. We really enjoyed and loved the new Oppenheimer Movie. It was sad, scary and brilliant. For as many people that were working there it was not ideal for the counters to all be dirty. The popcorn is always hot & fresh & got to love a place where you can put your own butter as much as you would like! We bought tickets for a 9:20 showing for Tomb Raider and not too much was happening here. The tickets were purchased via the AMC app and honestly feel like we could've come without. There was no one to check our tickets, and come to think of it, I'm not sure where one would buy their tickets on site (aside from the kiosks to the left). The concession stand was decent - employees weren't all too friendly, but they had some good deals. Buy a large tub of popcorn and drink, get pretzel bites for $4. The seats: No reserving in advance and no recliner. Watching a movie like the olden days. This theater is nice on the outside, inside is nothing special. When I asked about the 1 cup I saw behind the counter, the cashier informed me that "belongs" to her supervisor. So the staff get 1st hands on souvenir cups before paying customers?! Also, I highly recommend getting the Premiere Stubs rewards account at AMC. You can skip the lines when getting snacks and I actually passed up about 40 people in line today. Went here to see The Machine by Bert kreischer for my birthday with my boyfriend and was miserable before the movie even started because the AC was not working. Went to tell someone at the register and the boy I talked to said "yeah we tried to get it fixed a while ago" and immediately started talking to someone behind me while I was still in front of him. Went back to my seat for another 20 sweaty minutes, and figured I'd try to talk to someone else and not be blown off because I just wanted to enjoy a movie on my birthday or get a refund. Talked to a girl at another register and she seemed more concerned and said she'd check it out so I went back to my seat with a pinch of hope. I'm comparing this AMC to the one back home in Illinois, which was a comparable size and weirdly has the exact same color worn out carpet and almost the same layout too. At least this place has the right number of employees to handle the crowd for a Friday night (the one in Illinois is always woefully understaffed- like they're always surprised when people show up and actually want to see movies and order popcorn!) I also give them a huge thumbs-up for doing the AMC Premiere member line correctly! Yes, I pay extra to skip the longer line so I greatly appreciate it when the cashiers wave me forward when it's my turn and don't ignore me in favor of the longer line. That's another thing Illinois' AMC could never get right. Bottom line, I'll drive the extra 5 miles to go to this AMC over the one closest to me, since the reviews on it sound like the one back home! read more

This place was pretty large! We came here so we weren't sitting at the hotel. Talk about expensive! Holy moly. It was a little over $20 just for two tickets then for popcorn and a drink was another $20 something dollars. Safe to say we spent about $50 for movie night. I get going to the movies can be expensive but come on now. The popcorn was good however and they have the Coca Cola machines where you can pick whatever soda you want which is so awesome, love those! This location was very clean as well. I gave this theater complex the worst review possible when it was owned by Carmike. Since then, it has been sold to AMC and although it took a little while for things to improve, they have, and this is now a pretty good place to see a movie. The outside ticket booths are once again open and you no longer have to buy tickets at the main concession area. The two satellite concession areas are again open and operate efficiently. The hideous and unsanitary conditions of the bathrooms under Carmike are a thing of the past. I visited on a very, very busy Saturday and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Problems: The intercom system in the ticket booths are in desperate need of replacement. I had to repeat what I wanted 3 times to the clerk who plainly could not hear me and in turn, I could not hear her clearly enough to understand what she was saying. The lights remained on a full 5 minutes after the movie started. The side lights went down on cue when the film started, but the obnoxious and very bright overhead lights in my section remained on at full intensity. While not as dim as some of the features I saw under Carmike, the movie could have been brighter which was a result of either a lamp that needed replacement or the wrong lens being used, both common problems but this absolutely should not happen, ever! Bottom Line: Greatly improved over Carmike and I believe if AMC keeps it up this complex will return to its former greatness under Rave. read more

It's difficult to articulate all of my experiences with this movie theater. The movies themselves have been good and the building itself is decent but the staff is almost almost always meh or downright insulting. I understand, they're more than likely understaffed, overworked and underpaid. The majority of us are these days. Still, if I took that out on my customers I'd be fired. I joined their program as a stubs member, mostly for the refill on popcorn, and the convenience of online tickets purchases. Its had its problems as whenever I go near or into the theater the app has this habit of not responding or refusing to open. I've started screenshoting the QR code screen or ensuring the email confirmation is open on my phone to be scanned before I get close to the theater. The whole point of digital ordering the tickets is so you can skip the line for purchasing them physically. Most of the time, it's fine, an attendant is standing just inside the doors with a scanner and directing you to the auditorium your movie is playing in. However, this has never been consistent. I've walked in a handful of times, saw no one, walked through and was never stopped by anybody, no one at the counter even bothered to say anything. If it wasn't for wanting the points for the purchase to be applied to my account I could have just gone anywhere inside. That is to say there was one incident where I attended a movie that just displayed how unorganized this place can be or how employees just feel horribly inconvenienced by their customers. My movie was set to play at 12:00pm, noon. I left my house an hour before the show as traffic can vary the travel time from 20 to 30 minutes. I walked into the theater at 11:20am and there was no attendant to scan my ticket. Confused but accepting it as one of those handfuls of times that they didn't have one I approached the counter where two employees were talking. They turned to me and said they weren't open yet. Which confused me as I believed the place was open at 11:00am (see their webpage or posting on maps) however I accepted that and said OK, I'll wait over there and started to make my way over to where the chairs and tables were set up. Only to be told by them that I can't be inside of the building. Fine. I went outside and sat down on the steps. I took out my phone to check the time again. 11:23am and started questioning why a movie theater wouldn't open until 12:00pm if they started showing a movie at 12:00pm. I checked the app for opening time thinking that maybe I had gotten opening time incorrect and possibly the movie time incorrect. Nope. Google Maps, the AMC app and their website all listed the theater as opening at 11:00am. So why was I forced to sit outside and wait when the theater was open? Why had they lied to my face about opening time? Both my watch and phone said the same time. I even watched as a handful of other customers walked by me and into the the theater. I stopped one of them and asked for the time. His time matched my time and he went right on in, no comments from any staff that they weren't open or that anyone else needed to wait outside. I waited until 12:05pm, when the movie was already playing to go in. No attendant to scan my digital ticket. I went to the counter, the same two women chatting up a storm with each other and eyeing me like I'm crazy. I scanned my ticket for the points, decided that I'd rather not buy food from these women and went to the auditorium for my movie. Movie was good and I hadn't missed anything due to the large number of previews and advertisements that they play but still, I didn't appreciate being lied to and made a fool of by the employees. read more

Nice movie theater. I have been to some with old looking seats and static looking movies. This is not that place. It's IMAX. The theaters are large. The seats are nice and comfy. The place is nicely decorated through out. Big enough to have a 2nd concession stand . They have an arcade room and small party area. The concession stand is overpriced like with all theaters. The staff I encountered was nice, I haven't met anyone rude. FYI I saw "Deadpool" and highly, highly recommend it. Especially if you have a sense of humor to biting, sarcastic, overly sexual verbage.
