I am very disappointed in the management of this theatre. The purchasing of theatre tickets currently requires a patron to stand in the popcorn - soda and candy line. Tonight there were more than 40 people in line. With that line we would miss our showtime. I was told this is due to the change over to AMC but this is not the first time its been organized this way. If you goal is to drive up the purchase of overpriced theatre food by forcing peole through that line - then I shall never come back. If you need a clue on how to move people thru quickly have a ticket only line and a junkfood/ticket line. read more

If you buy the refillable bucket of popcorn you have to go to at least three movies within the year to pay of the price of the bucket....but every year it cost more....the prices at the snack bar are outrageous. So in a nut shell it costs a small fortune to go see a movie... read more

Vacationing for a month and went to this theater twice. We went back the second time because we thought the first visit was an anomaly. (No place could be this strange..Wrong.) The movie projection was fine and both times we had the auditorium practically to ourselves in a creepy way. Once was on a Friday and once on a Saturday. It was creepy and I'll never go back. Something is very wrong when a theater has all first run movies and the parking lot is practically empty on a weekend. I don't know how they stay in business, aside from charging $4.50 for a bottle of water. The bathrooms were dirty and the entire place seemed cursed and forgotten. No one there except for about 6 'tweens, 4 gangsta wannabes and maybe 6 zombie-like staff. Was there a murder here or something? This place seems to be poison to locals. My family went to go see a kids movie "Missing Link" and was kicked out because of noise. My husband and kids were not loud and were just enjoying the movie. Instead of handling this situation professionally they got security to come get my husband and kids to leave the movie. The theater was not full and only 3 other families were in there. They were very rude to my husband and kids. No chances or warnings either. Never going back to this movie theater. Kids went to see a "kids movie". If you don't expect kids to laugh and enjoy the movie then don't complain when Amazon or Netflix puts you out of business. My kids range from 3-10 and they are very well behaved kids. AMC you should really check out the management at this theater. It's ridiculous! read more

As someone without a hearing impairment, I find myself straining to hear the dialogue at this theater. The audio volume is too low. If anyone near you starts to open a package of candy or makes the slightest noise, the audio cannot be heard. It makes for an unpleasant and frustrating movie experience. The volume should be raised enough so that the audio can be consistently heard through minor disturbances. read more

Not much competition for this place in Bradenton, as it is the only full-size movie theater in the area, so I am forced to go if I want to see a movie. Nothing remarkable about this place. Smells like mildew usually, and the floors are sticky. The theater itself isn't horrible. Always kids unsupervised screaming during movies, and loads of young ones loitering outside. Plenty of parking, and the tickets are reasonably priced. $8.50/person, I think. read more

Expensive...! For one adult it was $20 and that gets you a ticket,small drink,and small popcorn...hmmm I feel bad for the locals because this place is also not very nice. I'm from Phoenix and going to movies there is like walking into a 5 star resort lol lame I know but we also didn't have to spend 10.25 an adult to get a clean theater and comfortable seating. After the remodel with the bar being added in and the new 100 plus soda machine this theatre has gotten so much better! The people are super nice and the new foods being added is superb! Of course the only downside is the fact that all of the combos and candies and everything is super expensive. But, that's theatres everywhere. If you ever seat in the Boca Raton theaters, your buttocks will never see any other theater seats the same way ever again. I was not very impressed by the layout and structure of the theater itself but other than that, the film we went to see last evening was Cirque du Soleil Worlds Away in 3D and the film was fantastic. This theater, recently "renovated", still has a stale feeling to it. Making people, who just want to buy tickets, line up on the concession line is a sleezy way to coerce them into buying popcorn and other overpriced snacks. The seats are newly covered in some kind of fake leather that sticks to your skin, and they don't clean the theaters between shows. You are also likely to find popcorn on your seat, or sticky soda on the floor or in the drink holders. read more

This theater does not have a normal ticket counter- you have to buy your tickets at the concession stand and there is no special line for people who are not purchasing food. It is terribly disorganized. It took us an extra 20 minutes before the movie just to get our tickets. Ridiculous. I will not return to this theater. read more

Staff was friendly and the movie played well. However, those are the only positives for Carmike Royal Palm. I went to theatre ten which smelt strongly of mold or mildew. The seats were borderline grungy with little specks of popcorn imbedded deep in the fabric. The film did not start until almost a half hour from the listed start time because there were several previews and multiple non-film related advertisements. The cherry on top was the air hockey table that took my money but didn't give me a puck. I went here instead of Lakewood Ranch Cinemas because Carmike had showings in 3D. However, I would avoid the place in the future because of the dinginess. read more

The power went out and our movie started 40 minutes late and without sound. No employee ever came in the theater to explain what was happening or apologize. Although I realize they were dealing with problems in all theaters, a little courtesy would have made the experience much better. read more

I had to put one star as this was the starting point. I live 10 minutes away and hadn't been here in years. I was reminded why when I returned. Cigarette butts all over the grass and sidewalk walking in, off putting vibe of bar and paying for tickets in concession line (smart way to maximize concession sales) and just lack of staff on premises. The thing that really pushed me over the edge was the advertisements before the move. The movie show time was 9:15, we got there at 9:10 and sat through 25 plus minutes of local advertising (not coming movies but sub cable quality commercials) and Coke Commercials, one after the other after the other, we almost walked out before the movie began!! Please remember that patrons do not pay $15 a ticket to watch advertising for 20 minutes, that's called TV...and why I would rather stay home than return to this theater!!! read more

Go to another theater. Here you have to wait in the concession line just to purchase your tickets even if you don't want any overpriced popcorn or soft drinks. They are clearly doing this to try and increase concession sales! Any other theater is better! read more

We read online the reviews and were hesitant to go see the movie but it wasn't playing anywhere else close to us. We expected the worst but was pleasantly surprised! It was very large, had a lovely sitting area with tables and chairs that people could sit and chat before or after the movie. Everything was clean and the staff, while not effusive, we're pleasant enough and efficient. The only negative we encountered was the cost of the concessions....too expensive .......but then they are in every theater. We went on a Sunday afternoon. The WORST movie theater within the Bradenton Sarasota area! The "manager" Kat in concessions was very rude and her co-worker was as well! The place was dirty and every SINGLE employee I ran across was UNFRIENDLY. As a customer service lead in one of America's largest corporations, I am taken aback by the lack of training and professionalism. I WILL NEVER spend a PENNY at this establishment! The past three times to this theater have been horrible! It was great before that. Since 12/25/16 I have had three bad experiences. Long lines, employees walking around and not helping, or lack of employees, only one side open even though there are workers on both sides, getting there 40 minutes early and still not getting into my seat until after the previews are almost finished (one time it was 50 minutes from line to ticket counter), all three times the cash registers were not ready or open at a decent time (some employees were adding the cash 25 minutes before the movie time with long lines), pop machines empty of diet coke. It has been very frustrating. I'm not sure if management has changed or what but it is going downhill fast. I am now looking for a better theater. read more

Theater seats are comfortable, although they are tilted too far back for my taste. Worst experience was women's room. Handicapped stall had no toilet paper--the whole dispenser was missing--and apparently this was true of several other stalls as overheard from several other women. read more

This is the worst amc I have ever been to. I had digital tickets and they told me I had to go back in line and get a hard ticket because they were unable to scan. The group in front of us had just had their tickets scanned and it was clear that the lady did not want to help me. I went back to the counter to get a hard ticket and there were two employees down just talking and complaining about their job, looked me in the eye and continued to talk. Finally when they were done talking the guy said he could help me. When I tried to explain to him what had happened he tried charging me for more tickets and then told me my seats that I had picked were already taken, because they were taken by me! And gave me different seats that I did not want and gave me attitude when I asked why other amc's had been able to scan my tickets but this one couldn't. He never answered my question. If I could give negative stars I would. Do not come here. read more

We had been going here since the kids movies in the summer with no issues but yesterday had a horrible experience. Came especially for an early sensory sensitive showing advertised by Face Autism as our youngest is on the spectrum. At about 25 minutes before the two teenagers on were clueless! Once my husband took kids back to the car I went back in and asked to speak to a manager. The clueless lad knocked on the door next to him and stuck his head in to confirm. Manager confirmed they were showing it but not open to sell tickets yet and come back in a few minutes. When we came back in approx 12 minutes to showtime the cashier still needed to set her drawer up and couldn't ring up our tickets until the other kid added something in the system. This while there are two other families waiting behind us for the same showing! Hopefully this is just a training and communication issue and will be resolved with the switch to AMC next week. read more

I avoid this theatre at all costs! It is dirty and the service is terrible. They hold you out in the lobby until about 5 minutes before the movie is ready to start. Creating a frenzy as everyone rushes at once to get a good seat. Not sure why they can't do a better job scheduling their movies so it gives more time to be seated. My 14 year old daughter was "reviewed" verbally by adult male associates at this establishment! How disgusting. She and her friends were offended by the employees obvious gawking and loud comments as they walked thru the theater together. Not enough was done by management in my opinion - I would AVOID this theater - ya never know what will happen in a dark corner and it is my job to protect and make decisions for my child. On the evening of March 16th 2019 two of my friends and I went to this establishment to see a PG 13 movie. We arrived at the theater around 9:55 PM, we were not aware that there was a newly instituted rule prohibiting the entrance of minors to the theater. Myself and one of the other members of the party are 18 and were granted access, however the third member was not. When we questioned management as to why, we were met with disrespect and were treated like kindergarteners as they slowly read the policy to us off of a board. This kind of treatment was highly disrespectful and discriminative against minors. Moviegoing is an American pastime for many teenagers and to prohibit entrance to minors past 8 pm on weekend nights is not only discriminative but also a poor business policy. They lost about $45 that night and most likely much more from many other teenagers who are going elsewhere. I completely understand asking a specific group of disruptive people to leave the theater but do not group a majority into a stereotype. read more

Went there to see LaLaLand and was told to wait 15 minutes because the theater wasn't cleaned. Not five - fifteen. Either they fired people from the maintenance staff or the manager isn't competent enough to make a proper cleaning schedule, or both. There are better cinemas. read more

I cant speak for the reviews prior to Dec. 2014 but this theater has just been renovated and its a lot nicer now than most of the theaters in Bradenton or Sarasota and not to slam Lakewood ranch but their parking is ridiculously a joke, walking blocks to get into a terribly teeny tiny theater was so disappointing. I'm so glad to have met the manager of royal palm Carmike he is so nice and helpful my complaint was addressed immediately and the problem corrected also I like that I don't pay a high price and no roaches crawling up my legs like most theaters in Florida, coming from California I was so grossed out at all the roach infested theaters (made my skin crawl I'm so roachaphoebic I couldn't even enjoy the movie) read more

Huge modern theater. Very clean. Big leather seats. Saw Star Wars in 3D the morning after it opened, got in quickly, and had plenty of room. Concessions and tickets in the same place to save you time. read more
