First theater I've been to where a $100 dollar bill is cause for alarm. Myself, my wife, daughter and niece went to a matinee to see the new Insidious movie today. We ordered from the snack bar, and when I handed the cashier a $100 bill to pay for $47 worth of popcorn, candy and drinks the cashier called his manager over concerned that I had given him a counterfeit bill. He handed my bill back and asked for a different form of payment. My wife and I own our own business, and sometimes receive cash in payment (gasp). I had never been so embarrassed, after finding our seats I spoke to a manager myself, who explained to me that the City of Tempe mandates that all $100 dollar bills be checked. So now, not only am I a counterfeiter, I'm an idiot too? As a 47 year old college graduate, and Air Force veteran I can't imagine why the cashier would find it odd I chose to pay with cash. Unless it wasn't the bill that troubled he and his manager, but rather my heritage. I will not be returning. read more

When I decide to go to the movies I always check the showtimes at Centerpoint first. I always park in the parking garage behind the building, the AMC has a ticket validation machine to the side when you walk in so it's very easy to get it validated. The seats are super comfortable, the tickets are not expensive (I usually pay less than 6 bucks). The only drawback is like most AMCs, the concessions are more expensive here than any other regular movie theater (not dine-ins). With that being said given the location, reasonable theater sizes and comfortable seating Centerpoint will continue to be my first place I look when I go to the movies. read more

The reason I love this theater is because it's handicap friendly. I have a bad knee and my mama is in her late 70's and the way seating is you come in from the back of the theater and walk down to the front. The handicap seating is right when you walk in the back, most handicap seating is way or right in the front, if your near sided no Bueno, but here you can sit in the back. The hubby drops us off and parks in garage they validate, the dropping area can get a little frustrating. read more

When I scaned the ticket at the checkpoint，it's fine and I got into the threatre，but when I get into the screen，someone else was on my seat，and we both got same seats. Everyone is talking about the seats, but I'm going to repeat it. The seats here are awesome. They're the equivalent of the Cinema Suites seats from the Dine-In theaters, but without the triple-the-price markup. In fact, the prices here are the same prices that I used to pay back in high school at the only movie theater in our small town - incredibly reasonable. Our theater was surprisingly not too crowded, either, considering the Tempe location. It's a bit of a drive from our Biltmore location and there are several other movie theaters between us and this one, but whenever we have a bit of extra time, we'll head down here to watch our movie in comfort. read more

First off, they have these fantastic movie theater seats that are cushy, red recliners that are fully automatic. I am so stoked that they opened Centerpoint back up and gave it this amazing upgrade. When you buy the tickets, you pick your seats from a seating chart. This threw me off at first. But, once I saw the inside of the theater, it was justified and I was blown away. They are like love seats if you push up the armrest between you and your companion. If you don't know the person next to you, that might be a bit weird. Overall, there is definitely limited seating since the theater is average and the seats are gargantuan. You would never have the "stuffy & overcrowded" movie experience. You better book those seats early! I did not partake in concessions but the soda machine looked very self serve and state of the art. I will be coming back here for sure. Hey Center Point! Think you might get a child care service/option at this location? If so, you could have a ton more business. I know I sure would! read more

They got reclining chairs! It's almost like a sofa chair. Super soft and spacious. You come here to watch a movie and it's a pretty good experience. Although to me... watching a movie is watching a movie. You eventually forget that you are sitting in a soft chair. The bad thing is parking is terrible in downtown Tempe. And this movie theater seems really under staffed. Usually lines queue up fast. And no one can answer a question or help you because they are super busy. read more

We showed up 20 minutes after the "showtime" to miss the trailers, and the theatre was empty and nothing was playing. Turns out even if you bought a ticket, they will not play the movie until someone shows up and reminds them to. And so they played it 30 minutes late STARTING with all the trailers and other crap, delaying the whole program by 50 minutes. read more

It's too cozy!!! I have actually fell asleep in the ultra comfy electric reclining seats. This is a great Art House theater with all of the modern conveniences and first run blockbuster movies. Concessions are simple and there is no bar, but they do have $5 matinee pricing and in general prices are amazing. The theater is well run and clean, I highly recommend giving this theater a try. read more

I am little disappointed at the cleanliness of this movie theater since the last time I visited. I was so excited to see my movie and stay local to my area for evening movie. The movie itself was great but the movie theater was not in best condition. I do understand that this location does get a lot of business due to it being right off Mill Ave,but I believe if they cleaned through the day it would have presented better at night. The women's bathroom upstairs looked as if it not been cleaned all day. There was no toilet paper in most of the stalls and most of stalls were dirty with toilet paper all over floor. I was going to report this issue to guest services but there was only one guy selling tickets at the time I was leaving so I just left. I must say I am so disappointed and will maybe next time drive to another location for my next movie. read more

This Tempe AMC has become one of our favorites for their reasonable matinee showtime rates at $5 per ticket. After they re-opened from years of closure, I was pleasantly surprised to find a nice renovated new theater. Still maintaining their previous 2 floors of theaters with your choice of escalator, stairs or elevators to reach the 2nd level. All their seats are spacious leather recliners that can be reserved ahead. And the arm rest can be raised up to allow it to be open to the seat next to you which I loved. Every row is spaced far enough for a walkway and designed so no person is obstructing your view. And I didnt see a bad seat anywhere. The bathrooms clean, modern and stocked. With it being downtown Tempe, there is a plethora of eateries before or after the show within walking distance. Tip: Park in garage on Ash street, right behind the theater and they will validate your ticket for 4 hrs. Just make sure you bring your parking ticket with you to the theater. read more

Love love love this theater! Yes its in Tempe, yes it can get busy (depending on what day/night you go), yes its on Mill which attracts college kids (which is where you are..a college town) and yes the seats can tend to look old and beat up but Hey! They recline, and are comfy....that's all I care about! This is our go-to theater...cheaper than most theaters, even on a Saturday night, new bar upstairs, great comfy reclining seats. Parking is never an issue! We always park in the garage and the theater validates so you don't have to pay. Can obviously get a little crammed in the garage if everyone is leaving at once...but that's nothing to complain about, it happens. We always buy our tickets online and there is a convenience fee, but its the best way to go so we can ensure we get our favorite seats. The other benefit of that is they send you an email with a bar code so you can skip the line and go straight in, get scanned, and go to your theater! Food and drinks are expensive, but that is true of any theater. If you like pretzels and have people to share it with..get the Bavarian Pretzel! Its HUGE!! Yes, its like $16 or $18 but its great for sharing and delicious! Comes with cheese and mustard. Only complaint I have is patrons who buy food and drinks to watch a movie with and then just leave it behind expecting someone else to pick up THEIR trash. I cant STAND that. Pick up your trash people! You brought it in, so take it out! Trash is literally right by the door you walk out of. All in all .... LOVE this theater! read more

Used to be a good theater but now no better than harkins Decided to give them another chance. .huge fail again! Only one person working the counter. My girlfriend and I's favorite AMC location in the valley. The staff is super friendly and theaters are always clean and comfortable. That is tough to do, considering they only have 15 min till the next show time starts. We gotta start giving those guys a lot more credit. Theater seats were very comfy. The theater was warm though. The concessions area was very small, and very messy.

The prices are about three bucks lower at this location than other AMC theaters. I believe we paid $6.99 each for a night movie and a matinee would only be five bucks. The place was pretty empty on a recent weeknight and that was good, but no fresh popcorn was sighted, so we had to pass on that treat. Everything else was pretty good once inside including the reclining seats. Must be college pricing here in Tempe, but anybody can partake in the bargain deals. read more

This movie theater is awesome. There are only about 50 seats per auditorium and they are all comfortable recliners! I've been here twice and it wasn't crowded at all either time. It's also assigned seats, so you never have to get stuck sitting way too close in the front rows. They have one of those cool coke machines were you can make any crazy combination, and since its in the middle of the lobby I think it's free refills. The only downside to this theatre is that you have to park in the garage which costs $10. Next time I'm going to see if they validate. read more

Clean & comfortable reclining chairs, not super packed, inexpensive movies ( $6.99 ) ~ but for what ever reason, our movie we watched tonight, Nerve, was only $5.00...the girl at the ticket stand said it was discounted. SCORE !!! Love that you can also pick out your seats ahead of time.., Parking lot behind the theater is a plus and its free for 4 hours with amc validation...just dont forget to get it stamped before you leave. Love the reclining seats. Parking was a drag. I gotta say i had no idea this was in the middle of mill and i was a bit surprised. It was flooded with college kids which is great, but not my scene. I really liked that they have refill stations upstairs on the 2nd floor. Also elevators and escalators. I did order two hotdogs for my date but they said it would be 20 mins until they were cooked. Lol obviously we skipped the dogs but I'm curious how they are ok with losing $10 that easily. read more

Mitch was very nice, signed us up for reward program to save $4 on tickets yesterday. Also got our parking validated and gave us recommendation to nearby restaurant for dinner. Lines were very long, probably need more employees selling tickets or something. Ryan was helpful in getting our seats switched so we didn't have to be by noisy guests who stayed on their phones throughout previews. Recliners were awesome, but arm rests had pretty bad wear and tear down to the foam padding underneath. Probably will come back because tickets are so cheap, just won't buy any concessions $$$. read more

I come here a lot but haven't in a few weeks. Seems like things are a little different. Employees still don't greet customers, they literally stand there and look at you like "what do you want". The concession girl was nice but I think he's a supervisor now, I don't know how, just looked at me and walked by without a greeting like he didn't want to be there. The floors were sticky in out theater. Went to the restroom and omg it was dirty and smelt weird. Trash was full and paper towels everywhere. Butter and condiments area was dirty. It was a slow night and there wasn't much people there. I go there a lot and I pay for my membership for this chain but it's gone down and idk if I should cancel and stick with Harkins. It's more cleaner. Use to love this place but service and cleanliness is awful. read more

I don't usually go to AMC but I went with some friends to go see a movie here. This ended up being a great location. The lazy boy type chairs were just amazing! They had motorized seat adjustments! There is coffee until 4pm as well. I was impressed with the quality of the theater. There is the main concessions downstairs and also two 100 flavor coke machines upstairs to get refills. Parking in this area can be a pain but I found out that they will validate your parking. Bring your parking ticket/receipt and they will pay you for up to 4 hours worth. I have not used it myself but they have a sign right as you walk in. Overall, I am really satisfied with AMC. The only thing I would say is they need to have a better concession deals similar to their competitors. Having a souvenir cup with super cheap refills would be great. read more

This theatre is amazing! They validate parking at a certain parking structure (behind the theatre), and the prices are so cheap. The theatre is clean, and modern, it doesn't look like a discount theatre at all. They have nice reclining chairs and the awesome soda pop machines that let you pick your flavor. read more

Location right in the middle of Mill Ave so I hope you know what you're getting into. The downstairs area is VERY small and it's very cramped when buying concessions. I felt in the way of everyone else down there. There are a few theatres downstairs, but the bulk of them are located on the second floor. They do have an escalator, but one of them (either the up one or the down one) is almost always broken. The upstairs Icee machine is no longer unattended since they've added a bar there and the seating area next to the bar can be very loud. We could actually hear the chatter from it during our movie. Since it is an AMC, the seats are the wonderful reclining ones. I typically only go here with friends that live closer to it. Not my regular AMC, but still better than some of the other movie theatres out here. AHEMHARKINSAHEM. read more

Once you see a movie in these comfy chairs, you won't want to go back to what you're used to at other theaters. Seats are reserved, and it doesn't really seem like there's a bad seat in the house. The interior of the theater is very modern and comfortable, and while we didn't visit the bar or concessions stand (we brought in our own snacks), it looked like it had a lot of unconventional theater options. My only gripe is about the validated parking - on our way out we asked to have our parking ticket validated. The attendant was chatting with a coworker away from our station and motioned for us to put our ticket through the machine on our own. Not sure if we had done it right, we tried to get her attention to ask for help, but she couldn't be bothered. We gave up and left, but (of course) our ticket didn't work on the way out of the garage. The attendant was able to let us out by recording some information from our movie tickets, but it would have been nice for AMC to take care of our validation instead. read more

We drove a few miles to this theater because it was the only one showing the movie we wanted within our timeframe, but it was absolutely the right call, because the experience was fantastic! The prices cannot be beat--$5 for a matinee showing with reserved, push-button reclining leather seats! Maybe it's just my overpriced California brain being surprised at Arizona's lower prices, but I couldn't believe we got this deal. Parking is terrible, the employees are not knowledgeable, and it is ridiculously warm in the theater. I went to order food and and there were items on the menu I wanted, but they didn't offer them. They even admitted the items shouldn't be on the menu. This is the least desirable theater i have ever been to. read more
