This is a terrific old school bowling alley. They don't need fancy screens and scoreboards. No one is trying turn the bowling experience into some kind of "video game" to attract screen obsessed kids. This place is for people that want to actually bowl! Best burgers in town is their slogan. The burgers ARE good, but have you had the nacho cheese fries? HAVE YOU!!?? If not, your missing out. They've got a pretty great selection of food on the menu as well as drinks. They've also got video games and a couple claw machines as well. It's a pretty laid back family atmosphere. I rented a lane on a Saturday, 1.5 hrs for $40, up to six bowlers and it includes shoe rental. This is a pretty good deal, with four people we got 2 1/2 games in. We stopped the last game halfway through voluntarily. (No one stopped us when time had run out, but I'm an adult I can read a clock.) A nice family activity for not a lot of money. Staff for the most part are friendly and do a good job. My problem is with the inconsistency of how they operate. I have purchased three bowling balls and had two of my own bowling balls re-drilled at the pro shop and none of the balls were drilled the same so ultimately I had to get them all re-drilled by someone else. Had a incident in the bar when new bartender decided, I was slurring my speech and therefore cut me off. I had nothing to drink prior and my bar bill was only $20. Never in my lifetime have I been cut off it was quite embarrassing. I've seen people over served routinely in this bowling alley. If asked my speech could be explained away from two previous strokes which caused speech issues. I kind of felt for whatever reason the bartender made a big mistake and told her so prior to leaving. Had another incident springtime at league when I asked the person working behind the desk if she could turn on the overhead fan. She advised she could not do it without the approval of the manager, which happens to be the owners daughter or co-owner. I would normally defer because there are a lot of older people on the league who get cold. But it was a nice day and half the bowling center was wearing shorts and T-shirts that day. Eventually, the manager relented and turned the fan on, but it was obvious she was not happy because she was cold and had to put on a sweater. I absolutely love the people that I bowl with and it saddens me but unfortunately, the incident at the bar was the final straw that pushed me away. They lost a good customer as me and my family won't be returning. If anyone at linn lanes would like to reach out and talk about this review I'm open to that but I'm not holding my breath. read more

It is ridiculous to think that an hour for tater tots is acceptable. I got tater tots, because I figured it would go faster than real food. After 45 minutes I checked on my tater tots. I got yelled at by the male working. He said they are busy and this was a small kitchen. Well, that's not my problem. Earlier this poor girl was working the food, taking orders, and no one was helping with shoes. People literally went behind the counter and got their own shoes. I don't have my kids birthdays here anymore, and I am only forced to come for other birthdays. The guy didn't need to be so flipping rude when I asked about my food. I'm an Army veteran with PTSD. This was our first time visiting our local bowling alley and our daughter's first time bowling !! We had such a great time, we must have come at the perfect time because there was only one other lane being used when we got there. The employee who helped us was very friendly and got the bumpers ready for our lane and told us how to work the machine. They also have " ball stands/rollers" for little kids, which I thought was really helpful/cool. We did order food when we were there, and their food is really good. We got a bacon, ranch, and swiss burger with fries and a western burger with tots, everything was good. They give you a little pile of pickles which our daughter loved !!! Love it. I've been gone for over 20 years, I came back, and it's as same as it ever was. Very down-home and great service. The "Bowling Alley" burger was amazing. Bonus points for Pepsi products! This place consistently gets more and more disappointing. They have taken their liberties to a whole level. I mean give me a break I have gotten food there before as take out. Jury is still out as to the quality of the lanes, graphics on TV's during the bowling or quality/cleanliness of shoes. This place had a dated atmosphere that is quite enjoyable. It also had clean bathrooms +. Don't bother going here for anything except food until after 3:30 pm on a Friday. They won't let you bowl because the league takes up all lanes. They turned me and my 4yo away for this reason. She was saddened because she was all set on bowling and they said no. I also can't speak to their food quality. Linn Lanes is what I imagine a bowling alley should be. A bartender who remembers you. A few video game machines on the way to the bathroom. Greasy food, with crispy french fries. Staff who seem like they belong there, who help you when you need help, low staff turnover. I've lost track of how many times we've been to Linn Lanes. It started with the Wednesday Ladies' Nights, then we went to the summer bowling for kids. At least once, my husband and I have gone bowling there Without Our Children. read more

I enjoy this bowling alley. It's laid back, the people who work there are friendly, and the prices are really reasonable. I always get the sense that the employees who work there enjoy being there, which adds to the experience. I wish I could go here more often. The lanes are older, so it doesn't track the speed of your ball or show you how to bowl each frame, if that's what you're into. I don't have my own ball so it's a challenge when it's busy to find a ball that fits my giant man thumbs but I have that problem everywhere. My favorite part is that the music isn't blaring loudly during regular hours. I haven't been to cosmic bowling here, or whatever version of it that they have, so I can't speak to that, but as I said before it's a pleasant, laid back experience. read more

i've been going here for years and had a good time but i get more and more disappointed lately. the ballistic bowling on saturdays, they turn everyones lane off ten minutes early. the food is poorly made. the employees are absolute jerks except the new guy they just hired. they follow no sanitary protocols you will never see them wash their hands even after smoke breaks, handling money, anything. the machines consistently break. My friends invited me to go bowling with them here one night because they had $1 bowling! Bowling is so expencie, who could say no to $1! Right when we got there I was not impressed. We waited at least 5 minutes for someone to come help us at the counter to get our shoes. When they finally helped us, they put us on a lane and told us that they had a big party coming in and that we would be kicked off our lane in an hour so that the group could bowl. If a bowling alley is going to have a big party they need to have lanes reserved for that group. They were very rude to us when they told us we would be getting kicked off our lane. They also had $1 taco night that night too. My boyfriend decided he was thirsty and was going to get him and I some tacos. When the lady came up to him she said, "What do you want," in a very rud voice. They definately didnt get our money after that! Also when we left she was rude taking our shoes. Even though I did not have a good experience at this bowling alley I will probably go back for the dollar bowling but next time if I get treated badly I will be talking to their manager. read more
