This is the worst movie theater I have ever been to. I have had movies with no surround sound, once the wrong movie started showing, twice in 3D movies the 2D movie started showing, and once the movie did not have any sound before finally being fixed 30 min into film. I have also been when ticket sales were through the concessions stand and not enough staff was on hand to avoid long lines (when I didn't even want food or drink). Staff tends to be snarky and rude. I will stay away and drive to the nicer theater in Smyrna. read more

The theater was nice and clean, and the staff (who appeared to be all teen boys) was polite and helpful. My only complaint is about the number of actual commercials shown before the previews....like , 20 minutes of the same commercials, played through 2-3 times each. I was annoyed, because I want to see previews and how movies are made, trivia, etc....not TV ads. Oh well, I will still be back...just not so early. read more

I have lived in Murfreesboro for 5 years roughly and for some reason I never made it to this theater. I made commitment to go and see a movie last night and did not want to drive to Smyrna. I was going to see the 9:00 pm show with my wife. It was pouring rain. We ran up to the building and one of the employees met us up front and said "guys we are closed for the night sorry" ...and that was the end of that exciting trip to the movies. Ready for another theater in Murfreesboro. I've never had a good customer experience at this theater. Nothing ever seems clean. I've seen employees refuse to replace a popcorn bag after a customer spilled it in the lobby. My favorite was putting a movie in their smallest theater on its opening night. It has gotten to the point where my fiance and I will drive further and pay more to go to a theater that provides a great movie-going experience (i.e. Opry Mills Regal) rather than being disappointed on a date night. read more

Took my daughter to see lights out(pg-13). She was the youngest in the Theater being 12 and I was the oldest at being 39. The theater was packed with teenagers that got up and down and talked the whole movie. people screaming out cuss words and finally kids getting into arguments over being quiet. One kid even threaten to throw his coke on the next person who talked out in the movie. I got security for the last 20 mins and was called many names while I was gone for being the uncool mom in the theater. Moral of the story never go to this theater at 7 o'clock on a Friday or Saturday night you'll waste your money and feel like you've turned into your parents! read more

This used to be Wynnsong 16 but evidently has changed ownership and is AMC. Maybe they're going to improve and when I read a list of good reviews I may come back. Get your tickets at the concession stand and you stand in line unless you're a premium member, then once you get your turn you hear young ladies sharing things that you don't want your granddaughter to hear, then you get some popcorn, go to the fake butter dispenser and then.....oops...no napkins. read more

We were the first movie of the day and the theater was so dirty. It had to have been popcorn and trash from the night before. I continuously here this from friends. I hate for them to loose business when the other theater opens. Need to try to get that fixed pretty quick. read more

It's funny to read all these reviews from people and wonder if they have ever worked with the general public or at a movie theater. Yes that theater may be run down and they have some issues but why blame the staff for what corporate does. If you don't like the way something is don't be rude and write a bad review because unfortunately with stupid apps like yelp the corporate offices looks at them and it hurts the people who try hard to make it a great place for someone to go to. Grow up and say something to someone's face at the place and have a understanding of what they are going through because they may be fighting for remodel or for things to change like getting more payroll so they can make sure the trash cans or the there isn't popcorn on the ground at a movie theater which is crazy to think that there would be popcorn on the ground at a movie theater. read more

I will drive to Malcolm Roxy in Smyrna before I ever go here again. Had to buy tickets at the concession stand. One senior, one adult, a large popcorn, and large coke was over $33.00 dollars. The coke sucked and had to wait till they waited on everyone in line even though I was there before some of them before they would wait on me. I will never go here again. The ticket line was smooth, getting our food and drinks went well,even though prices seem severely high, but our main problem was when the movie didn't play. Our movie was scheduled to play at 2:50pm. Once it was 15min pass that time and nothing was on our screen I went and found someone to address the problem. Finally the movie played at 3:20...way pass the initial time...but on top of that they didn't even turn the lights out. Thank goodness the movie was enjoyable...but I still feel like there was a severe lack in timely efficiency for a business in which that is their main job. So unfortunately we will be visiting a different theater where prices are manageable and movies are started at the time they show. read more

Over 40 minutes of previews? Seriously?! That is ridiculous! Play the movie already!!!

Went to see Free State of Jones, starring Matthew Mcconaughey, upon entering the theatre I recognized the temperature was extremely high. Went to theatre rep and requested assistance which he said he'd take care of it. After more than an hour of sitting in the stifling heat I again requested help from two other employees of the theatre; both times reassured the problem wound be address. More than 2 hours after the start of the movie, the problem with the air conditioner still had not been address! Frustrated by the lack of action, I requested to speak with a manger. Eventually he came out and apologized for the elevated room temperature; he said neither of the reps informed him of the issue. Wow that's sad! Furthermore the manager confirmed this was the lowest grossing movie, Placed in the smallest theatre, with a malfunctioning air conditioner! And you wonder why people are upset! Three people were asked respectfully for help, neither saw fit to accommodate the customers request. This should never happen! read more

I have visited the theater for the past two weeks and the experience is very disappointing. Last week the drink dispensers(4) were acting weird ( only dispensing strange flavors) floor were covered in popcorn and seats were broken in the theater my movie. Then last night my experience was even worse, the employees behind the counter was yelling at the other employees that no hot food was to be served, popcorn and sticky floors were throughout the concession area. Then 1 coke dispenser was dispensing diet products and the other only dispensed Vanilla Coke. I asked one employee about the on going drink issues and they said they couldn't get Coke to come out and refill their drink machine. Last, not paper towels in the restrooms. I will not return to this theater, management needs to be fired and corporate needs a camera installed in the public areas to see how bad the location looks. read more

Really disappointed with the management here. Went to see Star Wars with my husband, and there was a group down in front smoking, talking loudly, playing with their phones and taking pictures through the entire movie. Several people went to tell management about it, but all they did was give them a warning. I'd give a zero if i could, I came here to see a movie, the ticket counter was closed so we had to wait in line at the concession stand to get tickets. The whole floor was sticky and nasty, who knows the last time it was cleaned. Ordered a kidpack for the four year old with me and was told that their drink machine was broke, I could get an ICEE for them instead if I wanted to. Though I wasn't told that they'd charge me five dollars more because they swapped it to an ICEE. My four year old's ticket price cost as much as an adult ticket!?! $57 later I go over to the ICEE machine and two of the three flavors are out of order and the butter machines are broke as well. I get to my seat and settle in for the movie, only to be amazed that the candy I got was stale and the popcorn was burnt. This was ridiculous, I just moved to Murfreeboro and will never come back to this theatre, it looks like it's about to shut down and hopefully it does. I'll drive 30+ minutes to a different theatre to avoid this dreaded place. read more

I first started going to this theater when it was still Carmike and enjoyed the experience especially with the special rates during certain hours daily. However, when it changed hands to AMC it has gone down and the rates have gone up. I wouldn't mind the higher price but I feel the service being offered does not warrant it. The theater has gone down hill, it's constantly dirty since they have reduced staff and don't clean the rooms after each movie. The few staff they have could care less about the customers and will ignore you at the concession stand when you want to purchase items. There is food constantly on the floor which gives a general appearance of being neglected. The only thing that this place has going for it is that it has AC and is close to where I live. Not enough to keep me going. I'll continue going to the Roxy or the new AMC. But if the AMC at Stoney River Mall is operated like this one then I fear it won't be long before it has an air of neglect and unclean as well. read more

My boyfriend and I went to see Ted at this movie theater.The theater was extremely hot. It was so hot that my boyfriend and I did not even enjoy the movie. The movie was sold out so it was packed making it even that more uncomfortable. And everyone in the theater was wiping sweat from their foreheads. This is the second time we've had a bad experience here, so I will not be returning. My advice, wait for the movie to come out on dvd and watch it in the comfort of your own home, and spend a lot less money.... read more

I would definitely recommend watching a movie at Carmike Wynnsong 16! They always have the latest line up of movies with over twenty different films available and is also very affordable. If you are able to catch a matinee, between the hours of 4-5:30pm every day you can watch a great movie for only $5! They also offer many different promotions that make their concessions affordable as well. Tuesdays are "Stimulus Tuesdays" where all small drinks and popcorns are only $2! However, if you go to the theaters often a better option may be the annual popcorn bucket. The initial price is $19.50; however, every refill thereafter for the entire year is only $3.75! read more

We were looking forward to seeing a movie in this theater. Despite having some movies take up multiple theaters, they decided to show this one in a room with no air conditioning . . . in August!! When I complained, they were rude, offered me a discount and were flippant. How does ANYONE decide to offer a movie in a room that is 80-85 degrees?! I have never been so pissed off in my life. We drove an HOUR to this theater for the sole purpose of seeing Rogue One. On three sites, including THEIR OWN, this was one of 3 theaters showing it. The showing should have been at 6:15pm. We arrived at 5:50pm and went to the snack bar to get tickets. Of course the girl working the counter can't find the showing. So Red Shirt Guy comes over to figure things out. And because we apparently aren't bright enough to use the Internet, we are asked to let them see the site we were looking at because "We're AMC now." What that has to do with your movie showings is beyond me. There are three sites (including yours) saying that I can purchase tickets for this movie. You have a Now Showing poster outside. So Red looks at the phone and goes to ask the "GM", to find out what's going on. Apparently this mythical GM is the mastermind behind the curtain since she couldn't be bothered to speak to us herself, only sent Red to relay the message. Apparently "another movie was selling out so we pulled this one." We were told, with no apology, that we could see a different movie for free or take these guest passes and use at another time. We couldn't even get to one of the other theaters to see it because the others are at least 45 minutes away. We took the passes which will be going in the trash. If this is the way "We're AMC now " treats their customers and provides service, Kim Kardashian will win an Oscar before they see my money again. I don't know where any of these others reviews are coming from with these OUTRAGEOUS statements about this theatre. "The popcorn was good?!" Get real. "Best cinema in Murfreesboro?!" It's the ONLY cinema in Murfreesboro! Every one of them must work there or know someone who does. The only reason I give this a 2 star and not just 1 is because they "attempt" to keep the place clean and they have a mini arcade. I've lived in Murfreesboro for almost 10 years now and never once have I enjoyed my movie experience from this or any other Carmike; though this one is the worst. Though they have the same flaws as most movie theaters, their major violation is their prices are asinine for what they are providing! They not only want you to pay the already high price for tickets to there small screens, but they charge crazy amounts for their SEVERELY limited concessions! They have cheap, stale tasting popcorn that I've rarely seen made fresh, a handful of candy options three times the price I would have to pay if I bought it outside the theater, and small beverages double the price of what would cost me a 2 Liter! When I tried to bring in my own bottled cola, they were quick to dismiss me until I trashed it. Since then I have chosen to sneak my own snacks and refreshments in my pockets or my girlfriends purse. More recently(2012), they've started turning off/down the freaking air conditioning in the theater for what I only imaging to lower their electric bill. I have on multiple occasions had to get up from my movie, sweat dripping from my brow, and ask them to turn it up only to be rewarded for the effort by them changing the room temperature from 78 degrees to 77. The ONLY reasons I go here every blue moon are because there are NO other close, "practical" alternatives or I don't feel like driving too far just to watch a crappy movie in a more comfortable setting. I primarily just go to Oprymills for the movies I want to enjoy and roll the dice here for the ones I don't care about. If they closed down today, nobody would even care... read more
