Going to the movies is usually one of my favorite ways to spend a relaxing evening. There's something special about walking into the theater, smelling fresh popcorn, and settling into a comfortable seat while the lights dim. I was looking forward to enjoying a nice, peaceful movie night--just escaping into a different world for a couple of hours. At first, everything felt perfect. The screen lit up, the sound filled the room, and I became immersed in the story. The audience around me was quiet and respectful, which made the experience even better. A good theater environment allows you to forget about everything else and focus completely on the film. However, not long after the movie started, loud cultural music began playing in the theater room next to ours. It sounded like there was a celebration or a special screening happening, with energetic songs and heavy bass. While I respect and appreciate cultural music and events, the volume was so loud that it carried straight through the walls and into our theater. During quiet scenes, the bass thumped loudly, and the music overlapped with the dialogue on screen. The biggest issue was that the rooms clearly were not soundproof. Instead of thick, insulated walls blocking outside noise, it felt like only a thin barrier separated the theaters. Every beat and rhythm echoed into our space, making it difficult to concentrate. Movie theaters are designed to create an immersive experience, but without proper soundproofing, that experience is easily disrupted. As the movie continued, I found myself more distracted than entertained. Important emotional moments were interrupted by sudden bursts of music from next door. Other people in the theater shifted in their seats, and a few even looked around in frustration. The peaceful atmosphere that makes movie nights enjoyable had completely disappeared. In the end, what was supposed to be a lovely, relaxing evening turned into a disappointing experience. While the event in the other room may have been meaningful for those attending, the lack of soundproofing between theaters showed poor planning and consideration. A movie theater should provide an escape from outside noise, and without proper sound insulation, that magic is lost. read more

Classic movie theater feel. The concession stands are popping and quick with lines moving quickly and plenty of people to help. Popcorn is fresh, food selections are good. While they are clean the women's Bathroom really need to be revisited and remodeled as it's giving old fashioned look /smell. Seats recline and are more comfortable than seats in newer theaters. 6-5-25: Terrible experience during 9:45 PM showing of Sinners on 6/5/25 - Security needed ASAP! I've had decent experiences at this AMC in the past, but my visit on June 5, 2025, for the 9:45 PM showing of Sinners was completely ruined. During the movie, people (likely teens) were running in and out of the theater, throwing popcorn, buckets, and even drinks at the audience. It was chaotic, disruptive, and flat-out unacceptable. The entire atmosphere in the theater was ruined. Many of us were irritated and angry--some even left early because of how bad it got. I personally left before the movie ended because I didn't want to risk getting involved or confront anyone out of frustration. The manager on duty did give me a free ticket as an apology, which I appreciated, but the fact that nothing was done in the moment to stop the disruption was incredibly disappointing. Whoever was causing the disturbance was not handled, and the entire situation tainted my experience at this location. My strong recommendation: AMC Concord must invest in actual on-site security, especially for later showings. This type of behavior is becoming too common and ruins the experience for people who just want to enjoy a movie in peace. Until changes are made, I don't feel comfortable returning to this theater. read more

This was my very first visit to the AMC Concord Mills theaters. The lobby looks very nice, clean, and modernized. There are 24 theaters but I only was in # 15. It's a smaller theater but I liked the reserved seating and the ability to recline in 2 different directions. The concession area was decent, and the bathrooms are larger and clean compared to the theaters at the Carolina Mall. Exiting is easy through the side doors versus going back through the front doors. Overall, I was pleased with my experience and the ease of buying tickets online and selecting seats before arrival. read more

Brought my little human to see the Garfield movie! My son is only 8, but he loves nostalgic cartoons. So he had been anticipating seeing this modern movie animation version of his favorite classic Garfield cartoons. This theater has the reclining chairs, it's spacious and clean. It's in the mall and I was concerned about parking, but we were able to find parking just fine. The staff is polite, the place is clean, and they have a great selection of snacks. Aesthetic: Heartbreak feels good in a place like this ;) Traditional AMC theater with all the bells and whistles. Experience: I frequent this theater for discount Tuesday, and I've always had a pleasant experience. If you join the AMC stubs free program, tickets on Tuesdays are only $6, and you get extra perks and discounts on snacks. They also have tiered memberships to get free movie tickets if it's your regular theater. The seats are comfy and the workers are kind, but I wish the seats were maintained and cleaned a little better. Conclusion: This is a great movie theater, and I highly recommend checking it out on discount Tuesdays. read more

Went to see Black Phone which was very good with Ethan Hawke. Movie tickets were discounted 30% off from the regular price which was a cool deal. We had the whole theater to ourselves. Did not feel so bad when I screamed a couple of times throughout the movie. Staff very friendly. Helpful with question about AMC Stubs program. Bathrooms were clean with lots of stalls as well as sinks to freshen up. The movie theater is located inside of the Concord Mills shopping mall. Will be back again soon. read more

I went to see a late night show. It was extremely dirty in there. There was trash all over the floor by the drink station. When I went in to the actual movie room 14, the trash was overflowing almost stacked up the walls. Do they only clean and take out trash once a day? read more

Two movies seen here: The Flash in Dolby Cinema; Taylor Swift in IMAX. I can't comment on what a movie in a standard auditorium is like. The screen is about the same size as the IMAX in Regal Stonecrest, and this is clearly a retrofit. This is the only IMAX of its type in the area to use laser projection, and so the contrast and colors "pop" a little more than they might otherwise. At this screen size, though, the difference is really pretty marginal. That's the only real positive note, though. The seats are your absolute twenty-year-old standard, red-cushioned, tiny, and non-reclining, and they do a lot to make Concord Mills probably the least-impressive IMAX experience in the area overall. Dolby Cinema auditorium had better seats, and the projector was in focus. The screen is smaller than the IMAX, and so the laser projection isn't nearly the sell that it otherwise would be since they both have the same technology. read more

This is my favorite, designated movie theater. I enjoy coming here because the location is convenient, but they have good food options as well. As an AMC stubs Premier member, I enjoy coming here for my movie options. The popcorn is always fresh, the curly fries are always hot, and their flatbread pizzas are pretty good. Upon my last visit, my boyfriend even commented that this location is great because of their full reclining chairs, but also because the theater really gets dark at showtime! A great option to explore all movies. They offer options in IMAX, 3-D, as well as a standard 2-D movies. read more

I don't get all the bad reviews of this movie theater. I've never had a bad experience. I come here often, best day to come is Tuesdays as movies are like $5, then i actually don't feel too bad about getting a slushee drink (even tho all food and drinks are overpriced tbh, but what movie theater isn't). I rented a theater for a staff outing where we could still be safe. This was perfect. We entered through the side entrance rather than through the mall. It was simple to reserve. Quite a few selection of movies to choose from. There were no crowds in the lobby it was like having tithe entire place to ourselves. Concession stand is open with no lines! Hand sanitizer stations throughout. You could tell the seats had been cleaned because they were a little damp, Not so damp your clothes got wet but enough to know it was cleaned. Staff wore masks. Plenty of room to spread out with social distancing. It's like having a home theater but you're not in pjs. read more

Since my last review, I moved to NJ and by the grace of God moved back to NC. That BF mentioned in 2018 is now my husband - also, by the grace of God ;-) . And there was a whole pandemic that shut down all theaters for a moment. Kicking myself for not buying AMC stock in fall of 2020 when I thought, "Hmmm.....people will return to the movies and the stock will recover. Obviously." Anyhow, the movie experience is nicer without as many people in the theater. AMC has a $20 monthly subscription that allows you to go to up to 4 moves per week. This is a steal. With the DOLBY and IMAX movies being around $15, if you make it to 2 movies in a month, you get your money's worth. Then there are extra benefits of freebies here and there. Nowadays the bathrooms are clean. The theaters are clean. The lines are shorter. There are plenty of seats to choose from. This too shall pass. Every silver lining has its cloud. I finally cheapo hacked the movies. The Kids Meal is $7. It comes with popcorn, a drink, and fruit snacks that can be upgraded to any candy for a dollar or two. So put your mask on, pick a matinee, and get back to the movies. read more

Unfortunately the IMAX theater hasn't aged well, that paired with a delayed start had me feeling uncomfortable and somewhat annoyed at the price we paid for the tickets. The chairs are dirty and have been soiled through out the years with drinks and grease and people matter. If this were the gem theater or a discount theater I'd find it acceptable, but to pay for an assigned seat and have to settle for filth isn't really right. The bathrooms are also old and gross. There's corrosive build up on the automatic flush sensors so they will flush prematurely or not at all. I will say I was happy to have roilet paper, soap, and paper towels this time. The picture quality in IMAX was good, and the sound quality was great when they got it working. It took a little while for them to get what ever problem they were having resolved though. The speakers weren't blown out or crackly so that's good. read more

This is our go to place for movies. I just hate how expensive it is. A three dollar up charge for an icee on the kids box. That's ridiculous especially for a small cup. Two kids boxes w/ icees and a small bag of m&ms came up to $30. Make sure you check on which movie you go to see if it's Dolby or not. There's an extra charge to watch it Dolby (which means surround sound etc) I don't recommend concessions for the most part but the movies is good to come and enjoy. read more

Admittedly, I'm not much of a movie person. I'd much rather wait a few months for it to come out on Blu-Ray and drive over to the ol' Redbox than go out to the movies. ... BUT, since my family and friends love the movies, I find myself here quite often. Let's face it, Marvel movies? Yeah I'll go and see that. Pretty much anything else and it's hard for me to get really excited. A couple of reasons would include the price, it's steep. Tickets are pricey, concessions are crazy (I mean it's pretty bad when the new stadium in Atlanta charges less for drinks than your local movie theater), and now they even have a new bar called "MacGuffins" (?) that for a mere $12 you can get the smallest mojito you've ever seen. AMC Has a few "subscription" programs that are worth looking into if you really like going to the movies, and now the MoviePass is a thing it can get even cheaper. Again, not a cinema enthusiast by any means so your mileage may vary. If they had a way to get those popcorn and drink prices down for someone who'd stop by 2-3 times a year I'd be interested. Some of the positive notes is that they've remodeled at some point in the last year or so, and the seating is really nice. You can partially recline and there's more space between you and your neighbor now. The theaters themselves are kept pretty clean from what I've seen. All of the staff that I've talked to are very nice and helpful when need be. The bathrooms can get a bit ugly. I think they do their best but when 50 people that have been holding it for 2 hours suddenly pour in and out of the bathroom, things can go awry quickly. The staff have to put up with the general public at their worst sometimes so I'll let the restrooms slide. If it's between here and any other theater in the area, I'm pretty content here, just hoping for the AMC Credit Card to come out soon so I can finance those concessions. read more

Nice updated facilities with recliner seats. There is seating throughout the facility which is great if you are waiting for your other party to arrive or simply waiting for someone to finish up in the rest room. Picture and sound quality was very good and seats were super comfortable. I would have preferred more of an incline but I survived without it. Who doesn't love going to the movies! Concord Mills AMC theatre has 24 theaters; large and small. I don't believe I have been to one where it was less than 3/4 full. They have upgraded their seating. You have to make reservations early if you are looking for the recliner seating. IMAX is really cool. Seats in IMAX are limited when there is a new release as well. Tickets are cheaper for matinees.thank goodness because those that love the movies like my brother-in-law need a separate bank account to cover the costs for a night out. Buying drinks and popcorn are outrageous as well but if you are on a date....who cares. A tidbit about this location...they often give out Posters of movies that are out at the counter (on the other side of where you purchase tickets). They are there for the taking. I was thrown out of the movie. Not for any disorderly behavior. I wasnt respectful enough to an employee who kept trying to explain to me what she couldnt do to help me. I was absolutely flabbergasted. I think they have the wrong person I even said as much but then they explained though that I was the person they wanted. They allwge after an employee took down my stubs information that she then went to go cry. I was horrified that such a thing happened because i had no intention of causing offense. Anyone in the know can tell you i am loud. They said i was yelling. If i was yelling then the manager would have heard me. Customer service is a foreign concept here. Dont come. read more

Here we are, here at another opening night for a hopefully highly entertaining movie watching experience. Tonight... BLACK PANTHER. This AMC theatre is always clean and the staff always seem to smile and honestly like working in the service industry. The auditoriums chairs and floor are clean, well cared for and the popcorn is on and popping (Fresh) then rinse it down with your favorite beverage including your preferred libation. With the automated ticketing , it's a breeze to get in for refreshments and on to your preferred showing. read more

Bungling staff are poorly trained. Concession stand isn't always manned. Theaters aren't all labeled with the film that is showing. My visit was 2/18/2020. I had trouble buying a ticket at an automated machine because chips aren't accepted, but there is no sign on the machines to that effect. The ticket taker gave me the wrong theater number. He is a disabled individual and should have a printed list of theaters and showings to help him. That is the management's neglectfulness and not his fault. I blindly went where I was told and didn't notice from my ticket that I was in the wrong place. No sign over the door showing the film, right? Another family was also there for a different wrong movie. I was seeing inappropriate trailers for the rating of my film and got suspicious, but not suspicious enough. At last a different movie began. When I went to change my ticket, I was told I would have to pay more for a later showing unless I presented an AMC Stubs card. This shows the management would rather have a few more dollars than make me feel cared for. So I took a refund and left with my uneaten bag of mediocre popcorn in tow and went to another theater. I've patronized this theater since 2007. Before I go back, I would like a manager to comment on this review that the staff has been trained to deliver better customer care. read more

Went tonight to see Black Panther and someone was in my seats! I'm more than sure that they had the wrong day but the security guy allegedly checked her tickets and told us that somehow her tickets were the same exact as mine. I think in all honesty he wasn't trying to ruffle feathers or disturb the show for the other viewers. I get that but they were in my seats! The security guy gets his manager and tried to help get it resolved but his manager essentially resolved nothing for us. We were offered to sit in the handicap row in two seats from the concession area(not recliners-basic seats!). It was bad because my whole group was there and we couldn't sit together as planned and we missed the first part of the movie no did we even want to sit that close to the screen. I wasn't offered anything for the trouble except 1 free movie pass. Manager made no attempts to refund us or follow up with us. Just awful. He really didn't care about the inconvenience. Just another dismissive situation and some discrimination played a role I'm sure. read more

AMC Concord Mills 24 is the theatre I visit the most. It the nicest theatre closets to University City, and the only that offers IMAX , 3D, and Dolby digital in addition to regular digital. All of the theaters have or will have power reclining seats that are very comfortable and leave you with lots of foot room. The concession lines move pretty quickly , but they do offer lots of options and the staff are very friendly. After you purchase your cup size, you can fill your own drink from the fountain machine ( free refills). There is also an area to the side , I think called McGuires, that serves beer and wine at a mini bar area. These drinks can also be taken into the theatre. Food and beverages are not served to you in the theatre by a waiter, as I have been told some AMC theaters do, however the AMC Stubs program applies to all theaters, so you can gain points and rewards just for spending money at the theater. read more

This movie theater is in the Concord Mills Mall. The theater was the cleanest and the crowd was pretty loud. It was just okay. I will say we were a little confused trying to find the interest and just had to follow the crowd. read more

In the area while our older son has an event at UNCC and thought we'd catch an early movie. If you're doing the same and trying to catch an early show, just be prepared to wait. It seemed like everyone working was new and didn't quite know what to do. Friendly, but unorganized, it took awhile to order refreshments despite hardly anyone in line. But we did enjoy the upgrades to seating like most theaters are doing these days. Being able to recline completely and take a snooze while our younger son enjoyed his movie choice made up for the initial hiccups in customer service. read more
