Place is spacious, clean and smells neutral. Ample of parking space. Just abit confusing for their entrance and exit since there are not much signs, but google and apple maps got you. See images for reference.

Large reserved seats and reclining seats make it a much better experience. And a large bucket of popcorn still no where to sit but between folks with the arm rest up. Not bad for a matinee where you have $10 tickets. And a large popcorn is $11 with tax, a dollar less for regular. Parking lot is multilevel or outside, shared with the Tomo's and Chuck e cheese.

Came recently and reviewing it now though I've been here countless times from preteen to present. I still, years later have to get used to the computerized selection but it's kinda cool at the same time. The overall theater is pretty big, it always has been but the now the not so new reclining chairs are a nice addition. The workers were mostly a young crew which is mixed bag. The young lady who helped me pay and get checked in was nice The theaters were virtually empty but the bathrooms and theaters could've been touched up a bit. A young man came through after our showing but didn't look ready to clean, just coming through to 'check' the theater. The thing I like most about this theater is the large scale parking which even less of a problem now as the pandemic unfortunately continues. It's always been doable to find parki g here, this hasn't changed. Also plenty of restaurants nearby if you don't want AMC food and snack.

Good Times, Bad Times, It's a pretty decent Theater that's usually well staffed and well maintained. But on the few occasions when it is understaffed you can expect one terrible time at the Movies!  Good Times- it's got very roomy and comfortable reclining seats. When all is right here you'll find the bathrooms are nice and clean. Also when the Popcorn and Nachos are on point, it's a very good situation to be in. Just sit back and enjoy your snacks while you watch the latest and greatest of Movies.  Bad Times- at peak Movie times it's crowded and that's understandable, but don't you have to be ready for this? I mean There's garbage all over the place. Don't they have someone for this between showings? I left there once with sticky stuff all over my pants. And No that was Not from me.  This Theater is convenient for everyone in the East Hanover area and for the most part you will have an enjoyable experience here. Just expect to sit in traffic if you are parked in the upper lot and expect a mess at peak Movie times. And that's the name of that tune.

Filthy... not to sanitary to put lid on drink....

In addition to presenting indie films, foreign films, or thought-provoking documentaries that you won't usually find at corporate-owned theaters, the Clairidge's theater auditoriums are smaller and more intimate than you'd find in the big, corporate-owned theaters and only one of the six auditoriums have the fully-reclining seats that have become the industry standard. On the other hand, the concessions go way above and beyond the classic movie theater snacks like popcorn, candy, and sodas which enhances the unique viewing experience. The Clairidge's concessions stand offers beer, wine, and canned cocktails - including the "Director's Cut Blood Orange IPA" created by New Jersey Beer Co. exclusively for Montclair Film. There's nothing better than catching a movie with a drink in hand. It's the perfect blend of a high-brow film experience and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes for a sophisticated night out while supporting a non-profit that gives so much back to the Montclair community. PRO TIP #1: Show up early to get a good seat. The Clairidge doesn't offer reserved seating and its smaller auditoriums fill up quickly. PRO TIP #2: Download the ParkMobile app. You can pay for parking in Montclair via the ParkMobile app whether you park in the town's garages or metered on-street parking. If you can't find a spot on the street, parking in the Montclair Parking Utility's Crescent Deck (located at 13 The Crescent), which is located just a block from the back entrance of The Clairidge, is $2/hour.

Recently though, we went to to see Wicked for Good on Christmas Day. The staffers at the ticket scanning area were all friendly and nice on Christmas. We took the escalator to the second floor theaters. When we were close to the top, I looked back and down to see the concession stand and lobby on the first. I had a flashback to the 90s. Despite AMC Wayne in need of a refresh or update, it looked to us like the theater still is well maintained and kept clean. The only negative thing that happened involved the lights not being lowered/turned off. Wicked for Good started and the house lights were still 100% on. My husband ended up going downstairs to the ticket scanners to ask them to rectify the situation and shut off the lights. Things happen, but it was surprising it happened. The attendants at the concessions were very nice and quick with our order. The popcorn does sit there for a bit, which is different than with other movie theaters I have been to lately, but it's all about demand so if no one is getting it, I get that it makes no sense to continuously make it. The parking lot is a bit tight, I think it would be a good idea to expand into the lot behind as we had to sit for a bit and wait for someone to leave.

I ordered tickets online and discovered they have discounted tickets on Tuesday plus 50% off popcorn if you sign up for their loyalty club... which I did. If you buy online, you'll need to download the app. The app was actually very easy to use. The theatre itself was a bit tucked away but I eventually found the parking lot. There's ample parking and the building echoed times when movie theaters were bustling with visitors. It was a little run down and quiet and 2 people working concessions, 1 working as the ticket checker, and... that was it. There are a few claw machines and a motorcycle arcade game, plus a Photo Booth that didn't really work. Restrooms were decently clean... though there was one stall where the cover to the toilet paper dispenser had opened and the entire roll had tipped into a toilet bowl. There are about 15 screens there and - wow - I did not expect the size of those reclining chairs. Because they reclined, the aisles between each row are quite spacious. My kids are small and they were tiny in the seats, haha. Very comfy and though there were cracks in the seats, it didn't really have a negative impact on me. The theatre looked clean. For a first trip with my kids, it was a pretty good experience! I was terrified that the kids wouldn't sit still or would be loud, but it wasn't bad. It did help that there were only two other people on my row with the rest all crowded on another row. The ticket checker was pretty blasé if he wasn't checking tickets but the concession stand staff were pretty helpful and nice! No real complaints other than maybe have a step stool for kids to wash their hands a little easier. This is a good location for another movie outing!
