Very old, dated, mediocre movie theater located in Lakeline Mall. I thought AMC would meet certain standards across all locations but clearly this is not the case. Ticket counter is confusing to locate; thankfully they have kiosks which make ticket purchases faster. Concessions stand is often understaffed and chaotic with very long wait times, but the popcorn has been consistently good. This location is split into theater rooms on the main level and downstairs. The downstairs theater rooms are in bad shape - recliners are creaky/loud and often broken, the space is dirty, and once I observed water dripping from a hole in the ceiling. Do better, AMC. read more

AMC is a fine movie theater chain however this location is lackluster. It is inside a mall and the layout is not great, the concessions are tucked in a corner and the ticket booth is not well defined, just a podium essentially. Once seated the theater the experience didn't improve. One seat we reserved in advance was actually broken and was stuck in a full recline with the footrest not popped up. Had to switch seats during the movie since it was so uncomfortable and then our group couldn't sit together. Would suggest the business does not sell tickets for broken seats. At least we got Nicole Kidman's famous intro, but heartbreak did not feel good in a place like this. read more

This place is not well managed. The team leader has been surly on several occasions and doesn't beckon to guests even when there is hardly anyone in line. They ran out of toilet paper in both female and male bathrooms. Additionally, there weren't any paper towel! Water is extremely hot to the point of burning one's hands. I see many patrons struggling to get their Hans washed. We rather go to Tech Ridge than this cinema if we can help it. As A-listers, we're disappointed. Hope someone does something soon. read more

I took my children to a movie expecting a comfortable and enjoyable experience, but the theater had no heat. The temperature inside was so cold that it was uncomfortable for adults, let alone children. I brought this to the attention of the female staff, and the response I received was essentially "tough luck" and that nothing could be done. This was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Due to the cold conditions, we were forced to leave the movie early, which completely ruined our visit. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated issue. We visit this location regularly and consistently encounter problems, including: Escalators frequently being out of service One of the butter dispensers being broken for nearly a year Soda machines often being out of products Previous temperature issues These ongoing maintenance and service issues reflect poorly on the theater and make it difficult to justify the cost of admission and concessions. read more

I've been going to this AMC for a while now. I have the A-List membership, so I watch movies at AMCs a lot. I'm usually not that critical of old movie theaters as I feel like there's a certain charm to them, but I don't think I can give AMC Lakeline a rating higher than 3 stars. I usually reserve my tickets in the AMC app, so there's never a need for me to use their ticket machines. The QR codes do scan at the theater gate, so no issues there. They also have a decent concessions stand. It's not as big as what you'll find at the Tech Ridge nor the Barton Creek locations, but they have all the basics. I also learned recently that they offer pretzel bites at Lakeline, whereas they don't serve them at Tech Ridge. The soda and Icee machines work well and are well-stocked. I've never tried their bar, but it's only open during the evenings. The theater seats recline, but the theater floors are a bit flat. In most other AMCs I've been too, theaters are set up with an amphitheater design so that each row of seats are situated behind and above the row in front. However for Lakeline, each row is located just behind but not above, which sometimes make for poor viewing angles. Lakeline 9 has two floors, with theaters 1-4 on the main floor and theaters 5-9 in the basement floor. Unfortunately, the escalator going down is usually broken or switched off, so you either have to walk down or take the elevator down. The escalator going up works fine though, thankfully. There is also a soda/Icee machine down on the lower floor, but that's usually not stocked. Each time I've been, I've seen the machines turned off. I assume it's because not too many people frequent this movie theater, so the machines are turned off as a cost-savings measure. Lakeline 9 also doesn't have a Dolby or I-Max theater, so you'd be watching movies on a regular screen. Personally, this doesn't bother me but for others, it may. The movies they show here are mostly mainstream, whereas you can find more independent films at the Tech Ridge and Barton Creek locations. I'll continue to be a patron at Lakeline 9 as it's the closest AMC to where I live, but it definitely doesn't have all the bells and whistles as larger AMCs. read more

The staff was friendly when we arrived but there wasnt anyone at the desk if your paying cash so i had to grab someone. The theater was decently clean but the bathrooms werent the cleanest. The movie ticket prices arent bad they are about average but discount tuesdays seems like a stretch because its only a discount of a dollar on matinee tickets which should already be discounted so i probably would go to a cheaper theater for matinee pricing. read more

We visited this theater about a month ago and noticed it was freezing, our neighbor's smartwatch was reading 59 degrees. It felt more like an ice rink than a movie theater. We gave it another shot today, same theater (number seven), and it was just as cold. But this time, it was somehow even worse. The upper seating area had part of the walkway completely blocked off with caution tape and large clear tubs catching what looked like yellowish water dripping from the ceiling and light fixtures. It smelled sour and unpleasant. Unfortunately, these tubs were placed directly in front of our seats, so we got to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of that the entire film. My daughter dropped her blanket on the floor, and of course it soaked up the mystery liquid, now she's sitting through the movie freezing, wrapped in a wet, smelly blanket. It was miserable. On top of that, only 2 seats in our entire row even worked. We paid for 4 tickets, but only one seat reclined. And I watched multiple people (including two kids and an adult) trip or slip on debris near the stairs. That didn't feel safe. Look, I get that theaters can have maintenance issues from time to time. But when you're paying over $50 for tickets and the environment is cold, broken, and actively leaking...something's got to give. The broken chairs were the last straw. Im sure there are other theaters around here however this location is convenient. Also not a big fan of the dine in experience as it's annoying when you are into the scene only to have the valet walk in front asking for orders. Multiple times. No thanks. This theatre offers traditional viewing. Was hesitant going here based on last reviews. I had visions of a run down creepy venue. Glad I went. We've seen 2 movies here so far and overall was a decent experience. Went on a Friday night for a 7pm show. Not too crowded, service and concessions were good. There are 2 levels of the theatre. I would say that I prefer theaters 1-4 located upstairs. Not a fan of the basement vibe. In all fairness, most of the negative reviews seemed to complain about the temperatures during one of the hottest summers. Hopefully that won't be the case this summer. I live about 40 mins away from this AMC location so I only went for the first time recently because they were still showing The Long Walk. I'd already seen this movie in theaters before, but I'm a huge fan so I wanted to see it as much as possible before it left all theaters near me. I was thrilled that this location was still showing the film, but when it started playing I noticed the screen was not colored correctly and it looked tinted pink/pastel. I hadn't noticed during the previews, but because I'm so familiar with the movie I noticed right away. I tried to kindly complain to staff, but they ended up not doing anything to fix it or offer me any explanation/guest recovery. I came back a week later excited to show my friend the movie and the screen was STILL pinkified!!!! I was shocked that it hadn't been fixed since I had brought it to attention a week prior so I complained again. It seemed like there wasn't anything they could do at the time or they just didn't believe me that it looked horribly wrong, but they offered to let me watch the film and still receive movie passes after. I ended up leaving early because the pink screen was driving me crazy, but I really appreciated that this time they apologized and tried to recover the situation with passes and a refund! I hope that they finally took my feedback and corrected the pink screen, but if screen 6 is still pink PLEASE DO SOMETHING!!!! Also why is there no coke flavor ICEE??? only 1 ICEE machine with just 3 flavor options in a theater this big is a little absurd :( read more

I like that the theater right on the mall. I go here pretty often but this theater is too damn cold. I had my winter jacket and socks and double pants, i was still freezing, so uncomfortable. They should control temperature, make it less cold when it's less people inside the theater, and just colder when it's a full house, or just make it less colder in general so we don't have to wear winter jacket to see movie. I even thinking to bring my thickest blanket. How do they expect to sell sodas when it's freezing inside. Please make it to a more comfortable temperature. read more

It's been along time since I went to the movie theater. Upon arrival we stood at the counter while an individual continued to work on a paper cut out and did not acknowledge us. We finally realized that there was a kiosk where we could buy our own tickets. The reception area was large and empty. We went to the candy counter and got some popcorn that at movie theater prices which was quite frankly a bit oversalted. We went to the soda fountain to get our drinks and two of the three soda fountains were out of order; we pointed out to the one individual taking tickets that one was about to overflow because the drain was clogged. We were directed to go downstairs only to see that the escalators were not working. There was no mention of elevators which we found later for our exit out. We made our way to our theater and decided to make a quick pitstop before the movie started. The taps in the ladies room barely worked and the towel dispenser was broken although there was a roll of paper towels was left standing on the counter. My husband noted that the paper towel dispenser was also broken in the men's room. The seats were pretty comfortable and had recline options and drink holders. The seats were preselected so we were pretty happy with where we were sitting. My advice is bring an extra coat because the theater temperature is kept pretty chilly. Movie selections were not great With most of the options being animated or super hero choices which may not necessarily be the fault of the movie theater however the selection was slim. Overall, not an experience that would bring me back soon unless it was absolutely something magnificent I had to see on the big screen. read more

AMC theaters aren't super clean and they don't seem to put a lot of care into them. (The one at Barton Creek is a literal nightmare!) That being said, this one seems to be on par with AMC's "let's build theaters, they're going to come... and who cares how clean it is, or if anything works correctly? What choices do they reallllly have?" attitude. It's a 2 story theater, so I'm sure it was pretty fancy pants back in its glory days. Those days are over. This was my first time here and, being that I am never impressed with AMC, I didn't have high hopes. The young lady working the concession was super sweet and I give her a 10 out of 10 - great customer service, very friendly and all the good! I get to the theater my show is in (Blink Twice - LOVED IT!) and notice my seat has most of the "leather" peeled off. Luckily, there were empty seats abound, so I just moved. I do enjoy their reclining seats, so they have that going for them. I'm usually freezing cold in theaters and have a blanket with me. I forgot to bring it, but it didn't matter - the theater was actually warm. Which was odd, considering it was around 105 outside, but ok. All in all, if this theater is your only option for a show, it's ok. If it's not, go elsewhere. read more

Pros: location? Reclining chairs with lots of aisle space Cons: hot. My thermostat at home is set lower than this theater. Feels like it's at least 78 inside. The last time I was this hot indoors was when the AC broke. What happened to the times where you'd escape the summer heat in a theater? Better get a cold drink! The bathroom also smells like pee. Also there are only four screens here so there isn't much selection. We went to see Demon slayer. We drove 1 hour away from our home to this theater. They sold out of cups before the movie even released. On top of that, the movie was set to start at 4pm. There were 45 minutes of previews. The lights were left on for the first 10 minutes of when the movie started. People were talking the whole entire movie and someone kept shouting chicken jockey. The movie staff did nothing. I will never go back to AMC. read more

Super excited to buy the movie pass, I came here to see Freakier Friday, and hopefully stay to watch Weapons. Was treated extremely poor by the employee & his coworker because it seemed I interrupted their chance to take a break together. I dont want to go into depth, but an employee telling their coworker it's "bullshit", he made me return to the theater to grab my phone to prove I had placed an order for popcorn and a drink when I was literally the only one that needed service. Honestly a very mediocre experience. The screen was smaller and higher than usual, the chairs were dated, and had you looking up., The popcorn was stale. The only saving grace was the kind staff. If you are going to see a movie here due to convenience of already being at the mall, I can see doing that. Just make sure it's the new movie as it'll have the best stuff. If not already just at the mall I would go to Alamo, or AMC TechRidge. read more

In my opinion the weakest of the 3 AMCs in Austin, but the quality difference is small enough that I'd probably make it my go to if I lived far enough North that the others were a trek. Your experience here will really depend on how frequently you find yourself at the movies. I have AMC A-List and find myself going a 2-3 times a month and find that this theater checks most of the boxes I'd look for, but really does nothing spectacular. If you're the type of person who only sees a small number of movies per year and looks to make that a special occasion, this theater probably isn't for you. In terms of food and overall experience this is the store brand whereas an Alamo or other similar option make for that special night out type of experience. I would dock my rating to 2 stars if I was grading this theater on that experience. This theater lacks any of the "premium" screens you get at the other 2 AMCs in Austin and has the fewest screens. Though to be fair it's only one less than Tech Ridge. Many of these theaters are in need of an upgrade that likely isn't coming. Quite a few of the chairs have rips in them. The spacing between rows/seats is awkward in a few instances. There are a few screens that feel unusually small for a movie theater. These issues are much more prevalent in the lower level screens than the upper level. If you're mostly coming for the bigger releases and are okay with the standard theater going experience, you'll probably find this location to be adequate. You absolutely shouldn't be checking your phone during a movie, but it is a minor annoyance that your phone completely loses service in most screens here. It would be nice to be able to immediately check your phone and have everything updated when the movie ends as opposed to waiting until you're back at your car. If there were no other issues with a theater this wouldn't be enough to knock it off a 5 star experience, but figured it would be worth including at the very end. read more

I watched alien Romulus in movie theater 6 which is in a 75 foot deep pit with no air conditioning. The movie was terrible but that's not the movie theaters fault ,but I was balls ass sweating with a theater that smelled like the inner asshole of the alien. The theater had only two working speakers and a 55" projector screen. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS THEATER!! read more

Lots of varying experiences at this AMC location. First time to this one, and since it's the closest to home, we'll probably be back. The entrance is also the entrance to Lakeline Mall. Their tickets and concession area is on this level, with all theaters two levels down. Ticket purchase is easy online via desktop or app. Same goes for concessions - pre-purchase and just pick up onsite. If not, both tickets and concessions are easy to access once there. Drink stations were a bit tight spacing wise, particularly if there are a lot of people. There's a bar, but only open for late evening shows. Reserved seating is awesome. Seats were wide and could recline. Didn't notice any tattered or ripped seats as others have pointed out. Could have been a bit cooler in there and could have done with the movie having slightly better sound quality. But otherwise, it's the movies! Lots of parking outside as it's in the mall. read more

I come here sometimes but not often, it's kind of hit or fail, sometimes theater will be clean but sometimes it smells. Sometimes there won't be any one to check the tickets and to check in. There morning shows are around $6 only but they don't have more showtimes running in the morning. The only thing I like it, we can get something to go drink to take inside cinema, as Starbucks is steps away and you can grab something to eat after the movie as it's literally next to food court. AMC Lakeline 9 within Lakeline Mall attracts the worst people!. It is a bunch of young teens whose parents drop them off at the mall. Horrible experience during the movie with obnoxious teens and there was a family with young kids and an infant crying during the movie. Not once did they take the child out. When I complained after with the assistant manager asking for the general manager's email, the response from one of the workers was that "the general manager doesn't like to receive those emails". Wow. AMC corporate complaint website isn't helpful either! GO TO ANY OTHER THEATER if you actually want to watch a movie. read more

There are a lot of good things to say about this theater. It's in a great location, it is clean, the seating is excellent, and we enjoyed the movie. My only counsel is that they need to train their staff better. At the concession stand, we ordered popcorn and took it to the theater. When we tasted it, it was obviously stale. We took it back and asked for some fresh popcorn. The young man behind the counter--manager?--refused. He said they're not going to make more because there's still some in the machine. I told him that it's stale and needs to be replaced. He's response was that it's not stale because it was made just an hour before. There's two problems here: 1) an 18 year old arguing with a 68 year old about the quality of the popcorn, and (2) not understanding that it cost very little to make another batch--a lot less than refunding my money. A regular popcorn cost $9.67. I doubt if it cost more than a dollar to make a full batch. The margin is very high. Whomever supervises the staff there needs to insist that they make a new batch every 20-30 minutes AND train their manager on how to be respectful and courteous to their customers. read more

While I completely understand that many theaters are struggling with being fully staffed, that's not what this review is about. It's about cleanliness. This theater isn't just dirty. It's nasty! The "Do it yourself soda counter" could only be described as disgusting. Dried soda syrup everywhere. Ridiculous amount of food on the floor. Bathrooms where unkempt to say the least. My complaint isn't with AMC. It's with the local management. They're clearly not concerned with the condition of their theater. Or that there were many staff members just standing around talking. No one thought to grab a broom or rag and clean. Probably because management clearly doesn't manage. read more

However, the pleather on our chairs was torn up and was scratching the back of my head during the entire show. I know times are tough, but surely the movie theater can afford to replace this crap. i mean, if you're genuinely there just to see a movie, go for it. but out of the three AMC theatres in Austin, it's the worst one. the employees seem a little lost sometimes, the seats are semi comfy but they still recline, & the escalators don't even work, but it's not the worst theatre in the world. foods decent! but if you forget to throw away your snacks you just bought at the mall... just hide them in your bag and bring them in. the boba in the food court is pretty good read more

Older seats, but usually pretty empty screens and well managed. Coke machine with all the flavors and my favorite caramel popcorn (I'm British and can't eat that salty stuff you guys like!). Easy app to buy tickets and choose seats. Food selection is pretty vast although they often sell out of stuff or ovens don't always work! I wish AMC would build one in Round Rock - how about on the RR / Georgetown border - that would be ideal! read more

I have never been to this theater but it was close to my travels and I took my grandson here who was home on leave from the Navy. I found buying tickets was simple and all kept on my smartphone. Theater was clean and comfortable with good sound and picture. I would go again if I were in the area. read more
