There are no staff at this movie theater, except teenagers and janitors, who most likely don't speak English. So there's no reason at all for the young unsupervised teens & tweens in the back of The Hail Mary movie last week to stop forcing around creating rackets serving all the people in the movie theater. Two men finally got up and yelled at them to calm their butts down. It mostly worked. We left the theater and tried to find someone responsible for managing the facility. There was no one. Movie date Theater inside the Liberty Tree Mall. It delivers but nothing special. The recliner seats are nice and they have great food/snack options but pricey of course. The theater itself was dirty & definitely not cleaned in between screenings. read more

My child's experience with the AMC theaters in Danvers Massachusetts was beyond awful. She is 16 years old and went to the theater with her two friends to watch the movie obsession. The policy states that you have to be 17 with an ID to go into the theater alone, and if you're under 17, you have to be accompanied by someone 21 or over. This policy is extremely outdated. My daughter and her friends were treated harshly by the staff. They had an adult whom which they came into the theater with, but the security still came into the theater looking for them and told them they had to leave. My daughter has already seen this movie before without an adult and had no issue. I don't see a difference between watching a movie with an adult vs. no adult. You are still seeing the same content just with an extra person. I feel as though children 12 and under should be accompanied by an adult, but 13 and over should be allowed to watch it alone. I still can't believe how rude and unkind the staff at this theater was. They were FORCED to switch movies and decided to watch the minions. In the minions movie, their seats wouldn't recline. Located in the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers, this is the largest theater directly north of Boston. While the mall itself has seen better days (like most malls in the USA), this AMC theater feels relatively up to date. It has the digital kiosks to pick your tickets and order your snacks, completely eliminating human interaction. The seats inside almost all recline. Inside the IMAX theater within AMC Liberty Tree, the sound is so deafeningly loud that it has made me reconsider seeing films in this format strictly to save my hearing. That's not the fault of the theater itself though. To get the most bang for your buck, definitely consider joining the monthly subscription plan called AMC Stubs A-List. This is around $25 a month but you can see up to 4 films per week, make free online ticket reservations, have no uncharge for premium formats (like IMAX and RealD 3D), and get free popcorn and fountain drink size upgrades, among other perks. Considering a single ticket can be nearly $22, you only have to go twice per month to make this monthly subscription program worth it. I usually go to about one film per week and I have really come to enjoy the AMC at Liberty Tree Mall. read more

I've been here many times! The last time I went the speakers stopped working at the end of our movie but when I went to the help counter they immediately gave me a refund without even asking. The snacks are overpriced like any other movie theater but I must say I don't love the setup of the snacks. But overall this is a nice theater. read more

The first movie theater I've been to that felt like a dirty truck stop. Sound system sucked. Everything was dirty. Obvious they don't clean the theaters in between showings and right next to my seat was a rat trap. I don't think I need to say anything else about the cleanliness of this establishment. Only reason I went was because it was the closest theater to my hotel. if you have the choice, don't go here. at least not with your kids. read more

I should've taken photos. My boyfriend rented out a private theater for a special date night today and when we arrived at the theater (completely disregarding how desolate the mall is now so sad) we were EXTREMELY disappointed with the state of the theater. When I say the SEATS were covered in mystery substances, food everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE, empty nip bottles behind the seats, the sheer amount of actual garage spewed throughout the theater was so repulsive I genuinely was waiting for either a rat or roach to come out at any second. Had I not had disinfecting wipes in my purse, I truly wouldn't have sat down. I know that all of what I listed is due to a lack of decency from the general public but as an establishment that charges $30 for a large popcorn and 2 drinks, roughly $250 for a private rental mind you - this is laughable they assumed the reservation was "fake" even after accepting payment they RESCHEDULED us a week later because they double booked the room, again, AFTER RECEIVING PAYMENT, just thought I'd add that part in too. I genuinely was so grossed out after sitting and watching the movie we immediately went home, threw our clothes in the washer and took such a hot shower it was so disgusting inside it was the saddest thing I had ever seen at the movie theater. The leather seats are literally deteriorating and broken / missing cup holders it was such a shame. Highly disappointed with the price considering the value you're receiving. Pretty solid theater, came Thanksgiving weekend, so it was very busy and the parking lot was packed. Ordered popcorn and a drink from the kiosk with no issues, and there's also a bar. I like the reclining comfy seats and the audio visual quality was good, just a bit loud. The floor was sticky in some places but generally I had a good experience. Didn't use bathrooms while I was there, so can't comment on them. Matinee prices are reasonable, I would return. read more

We ordered our tickets and snacks on the app because we are AMC stubs members. As a result short of an employee scanning our phone for the tickets there was no interaction with staff. I was there on a Wednesday night and the women's bathroom was filthy. Trash cans overflowing with paper towels, bodily fluids everywhere. The bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned in days honestly. The lobby area appeared to be well kept but the bathroom was neglected for sure. Enough to make you lose your appetite. We go to pick up our snacks and it's in the hot box sitting there. Someone else could have easily taken it and they would have no idea. The nachos were extremely salty and the cheese had a weird after taste. When you get inside the movie room the seats are peeling. The walls are so thin you can hear sounds from the other rooms. I had a hard time deciphering between the sounds from the movie I was watching or another room. This location was not up to the AMC standard I'm accustomed to. PLEASE TURN DOWN THE IMAX THEATER VOLUME. It hurt my entire group's ears throughout the movie and during the advertisements. Couldn't believe how loud it got. We have sworn off returning to the IMAX theater until this is fixed. Otherwise this theater has always seemed fine. read more

5 years ago it was a pig sty. Tonight, it was a total dump. Lots of people "working" but not actually doing anything. Trash overflowing all over, the beverage station is a huge mess, disgusting bathrooms, seats not even cleaned between showings. And they can't even give personal service when you buy your popcorn. walked into the theater for stranger things showing. all food and drinks had to be ordered on a kiosk which people were very confused by. when we finally got to the kiosk 30 minutes later- it would not accept our barcode. had to chase down and employee because there were none around to ask. finally found someone and she helped us. We got our expensive popcorn and drink finally at 8:00 and missed the first 10 minutes. After the movie went into the ladies room and it was DISGUSTING. Overflowing paper towels, reeked of urine, dirty toilets. I will never go back to that theater. totally disappointed. read more

I went to an early Sunday matinee. I walked in and the few employees there were staring at their phones fairly oblivious to any customers. I said I wanted to buy a ticket which apparently surprised the person as I think most people just use the self-service kiosk or an app. I bought my ticket paying cash. The ticket was $9.69 and I gave him a $10 bill. He then asked me if I wanted my change. Huh? Is this something new? I said, why wouldn't I and he said some people don't. What's going on? read more

Got my tickets in advance 2 weeks before I was to go. I got them online and it was supposed to be for me and my bf to have . When we got there another couple had the same seats as us too. Security came and said they would move our seats but this was completely unfair to the everyone because we specifically paid for those seats and shouldn't have had to deal with any of this to begin with. Went to the movies this past Saturday night and what a disgusting theater Danvers is!!! Popcorn and butter everywhere, floors where sticky near the drink dispensers. Covers, straws and napkins all over the floor. The trash barrels were overflowing so trash was all over the floor near them. That doesn't even speak to the bathrooms! Suffice it to say we did not use them. So unsanitary! I understand being understaffed, but there was an employee standing outside the concession stand yelling order numbers after the employee behind the counter already did that. As if we couldn't hear it the first time. He could have been walking around with a broom and a mop. I would advise Danvers AMC to get a cleaning company and probably an exterminator (because I can not believe there are not rodents in that establishment) before the Board of Health gets wind of how neglectful their cleaning services are. Came to see a movie tonight and was so grossed out by this theater. This AMC is so filthy that I was afraid to buy popcorn due to the unsanitary conditions here. Bathroom smelled like pee, toilets clogged, overflowing trash, empty popcorn and food items on the chairs in the lobby area, snack-bar counters dirty with food....everywhere we looked there was trash. The staff is always miserable here and the place is always dirty. The girls when you get tickets are nice and thats about it. I dont know how the management has been here long as they have, but power to this place for liking being subpar. Since Revere shut down years ago got no choice to go here, I think I want to go try Warwick Place in Marblehead next time. The pricing is insane to go see a movie and all the rewards are now tailored towards people who pay monthly, they dont care about the average customer anymore. read more

One person selling tickets at the counter on a Sunday afternoon. I would have purchased tickets online but I had a free movie pass that needed to be redeemed in person. So I waited in line for 20 minutes only for it not to scan and I could feel the eyes of the long line of people behind me burning through the back of my head because I was once one of them, so I said forget it I'll just pay for the ticket and use the free pass another time. Everyone was missing the start of the movies they were waiting in line to buy tickets to. It was nuts, this isn't a Tuesday evening folks, get a second cashier. We ordered drinks at the bar because this was a classy date with a babysitter and everything and the bartender had never made drinks before (fun! We are already late for the movie!) and we wound up with half full cups of weaksauce. Note for all theaters: Don't bother assigning the elderly a seat. They never ever sit in the right seats. All it takes is one rogue old couple in the wrong seats to set off a chain reaction of grumbly people who then need to move once the late folks show up and have no seat. Listen up Linda and Phil, you're in our seats and PS: the seats next to you are not for your coats or purses, there is a reason why we have to pick a seat and sit in the correct ones this isn't Southwest Airlines. This place has it all, sticky theaters, overflowing trash, broken seats, speakers that echo so it sounds like your watching your movie in a cave, audio that doesn't sync with video, and staff that doesn't care. Make sure to check out the concession stand for stale popcorn and crusty pretzels. Seriously avoid this place. I wish I hadn't given it a second try. read more

Holy moly this theater has fallen off a cliff. Hopefully it can bounce back after the pandemic because AMC Liberty Tree Mall, this ain't it chief. The new food ordering system is beyond busted. Now we get to have the general public slowly wait in a long line, pick things from a screen that lots of People can't seem to figure out and then wait in a hysterical crowd to have their order number announced. Then wait in a long line to have their tickets scanned because there is one person doing it. The IMAX theater has a 20 year old seating set up too. Trying to figure out the value in that IMAX up charge. Trying to figure out the value in doing anything here Save your money, go to smaller local theaters and/or just watch stuff at home. Good movies, good popcorn, sound proof theaters, comfortable reclining seats, nice membership rewards, clean floors. What more could I ask for from a theater? There are always so many options to choose from. My only criticism would be that they should send out notifications before a film's final showing. The benefit to going to this theatre is...picking your seat ahead of time, when you order on line. You can also become a Stubs member, which gives you perks. There is a bar for the over 21 crowd. Plus it's near the 5 Below so you can pick your candy and a drink up before hand. It was semi clean and the staff is not super friendly (not like the good old days). The good news is there is always something new to see and the previews are pretty good. read more
