Terrible service as I tried to go to the cinema on Saturday afternoon to kill some time. I am a full fledged adult. Bought a single ticket. I went to get my seat and the entire row was occupied by a cackle of teenagers. The row below was empty so I sat down there. 10 minutes later another crew of pre-pubescent humans came in claiming that row. It took them 10 minutes to get an attendant for him to come tell me I was in the wrong row- which I knew because my seat was taken. Perhaps AMC should supervise all children with adult accompaniment so that those of who are paying customers can have a right to service we paid for. Instead I left, over run by the worst generation yet. I honestly want to to know why their parents were so negligent in raising them properly and why the rest of us have to now pay for their self entitled behavior. AMC should do a better job of requiring adult supervision. This seems like biased behavior towards any single- person who just wanted to go to the movies vs 30 misbehaving children who shouldn't be able to control a movie theater! read more

I've loved coming to this AMC with my wife and friends, but we may going to others instead soon. Tried to see Black Widow today, and this is the second time we've come to the theater and the dialogue audio is like whispering, whereas the music/sound-effect audio is blasting. Multiple people asked for it to get fixed, only for them to be obnoxious and try like 30 mins into the movie and don't even bother to ensure they've resolved the problem. Everyone in our row left, and I went to complain that they should pay more attention to the audio mixing quality and respond promptly to complaints b/c otherwise there is no point in going to a movie. The customer service person told me "it wasn't her problem and someone told her it was too loud." Yep... probably the *music* is too loud while the audio is very quiet. Fortunately we are AListers so we'll try again as Assembly Row tonight, but I feel bad for anyone who paid $15 a pop to sit through a movie they can't hear. read more

Absolutely filthy in this place who knows the last time it's been cleaned. The bathroom literally looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months and smelled like piss. Have to order on a tablet, and the only human interaction that we had was the movie ticket guy who was extremely rude. Maybe 2 people working in the whole entire theater. The trashes were all overflowed so bad that there was trash on the floor. Theaters looked like they are not cleaned in between showings and the movie playing in the theater next door was shaking our movie theater. read more

i absolutely HATE the setup of the concession stand now. there was NO ONE on a register, so i had to order my food on a kiosk. then you are printed a ticket and have to figure out where to go to get your food. everyone is crowded around the side of the concession stand. the people working quietly call out your number, not even verifying that it is actually your order. the candy i bought for my daughter, they did not have behind the concession stand, and the person filling my order refused to go into the stock room to get it, and told someone else to. NO ONE told me what was going on, the only reason i knew, was because of the fact that i overheard them talking. they called my number (still hadn't gotten my candy) and didn't tell me what was going on, or why they had everything except for the candy. about 5-6 minutes later, someone came back with my candy. i always went to this location to see movies because i loved the theater. i also used to work here (over 10 years ago) and clearly this place has gone downhill. if i come back here to see movies, i will no longer be buying from the concession stand. read more

Disregard the negative reviews! AMC Liberty Tree is a clean and comfortable theater,with a friendly staff and great reclining seats. saw "THE Iron Claw" Monday and seeing Poor Things tonight. Again ,would highly recommend. read more

Visited this theatre while on a trip to Salem. When we approached the ticket desk, the young girl acted like she couldn't be bothered. She was on her phone the whole time (which was maybe two min) and barely looked at us. The bathrooms were atrocious and there was almost no staff in the lobby area. Theatre itself was pretty clean and the seats were comfortable, the reason for two stars. My biggest issue is that they let people bring in small children (maybe 6-7) years old into an R-Rated Horror movie! Are you kidding me!? These children, unsupervised were running up and down the stairways the entire movie, yelling, it was ridiculous! I actually went to the lobby mid-movie to talk to a manager and there was NO ONE to be found!? DO NOT give this theatre your money. read more

I use to love this theater but it has really gone down hill over the years! The women's bathroom is always FILTHY!!!! And often half of the stalls are broken. Most recently I went to see a movie on a Saturday night at 7, and so many high schoolers were screaming and running and movie hoping. One group even came into my movie where talking loudly, made a huge mess by dropping there popcorn and then ran out without cleaning up their mess! I love this theater although there's not much room for wheelchairs. They need to take out a few sitting chairs to make room in the center for people in wheelchairs, other than that it's a great theater. The sound is perfect, especially for those who cannot hear very well. It keeps up with what's playing better than any other theater in town. The food is perfect, it's Just a little too pricey but Some are worth the price. Love the theater. I come as much as I can. read more

We are a major movie-going family, like any big premiere we always go opening night, and usually AMC Danvers is our 1st choice. That is in danger of changing. Three months ago my rating would have been 4 Stars, but then they decided to change the entire Concessions paradigm to an absurd "self-checkout" concept. It was a disaster the first weekend they started... Literally nothing worked, it was incredible slow and frustrating to everyone involved. OK, pretty annoying but I was willing to give them a pass since I assumed it was just a matter of getting the bugs worked out. Three weeks later: Just As Bad! As if no training had happened, and STILL no one knew how it worked. Absurdly, each kiosk actually had an employee standing by "helping" customers to do the orders, which pretty obviously defeats whatever original purpose they had. THIS SYSTEM EITHER NEEDS 100% IMPROVEMENT OR IT HAS TO GO. If you are in danger of losing long-time loyal customers, you are in serious trouble. read more

Oh wow this is such a terrible theater. I live a few minutes away yet had never been, and now I will never go back after my experience this past weekend. (1) FILTHY. Like, your shoes-stick-to-the-floor filthy by the concessions. Garbage everywhere. Overflowing trash bins. (2) Concessions is a nightmare. There are self-service ordering kiosks with a touch-screen UI that lags or fails frequently. It is a slow, painful process...and then the real human staff, of whom there seemed to one per kiosk, have two jobs: (a) answer literally everyone's questions about, oh, why the giant number on top of your ticket is NOT the number you should look for to pick up your order; why the machine isn't printing your receipt; etc etc.; and (b) physically get and deliver your stuff. Maybe they could, I don't know, just take people's orders and get their stuff??? (3) SOUND INTERFERENCE. I was seeing Frozen 2 with my 8 year old niece. There was rumbling all throughout the movie from other nearby theaters, at times graduating to literal shaking. At one point my niece grabbed my arm in genuine fear and asked if we were having an earthquake. She's not a timid type. It was really bad. It was often so bad that I could not hear dialog or background music to our movie. It absolutely ruined the experience. So yeah, never going back. The theater we were in did have the nice reclining seats but you know what, so do lots of other places. This place is a waste of your time and money. read more

The power recline seats were great and nicer than mine at home. I like the self serve drinks and getting a refill and back to the movie vs waiting in lines. Join AMC rewards so you can earn points for snacks and movies. The popcorn was very average so not sure what was wrong but it didn't have the usual movie theater taste that I crave. This movie theater has HORRIBLE quality projecting. At first I thought it was just poor quality low budget commercials to start off the film. Then as they began to play the upcoming movie commercials prior to the film and I realized that the entire film would be viewed in fuzzy and low quality projection. The theater still look under Construction. Walls not painted and wire is exposed. Bedroom is way back in the front. You will spend 5 minutes away from the movie. It's a bit small in the theater. This theater is a dump and the people that work here are rude. I get it that the Star Wars opening has been a tough weekend for the employees but that is how the industry works. You pride yourself on the hit movies as that is what keeps the concessions busy and the employees occupied. We are in theater #2 to see Alvin and the Chipmunks- Road Chip and had to go to several rows to find 3 chairs in a row that didn't have at least one that was broken. I am an avid movie theater goer. I have no complaints about this theater. The reviews were making me think I was walking into a huge dumpster fire. The seats were really nice. Overall the theater was clean, spotless no, but normal movie theater level clean to me. There was some messiness in the bathroom, but what I saw was from people not flushing or leaving paper on the floor. I don't know what ritzy movie theaters these 1-star reviewers have been to, but I've been to theaters all over Long Island, NYC, NH, MA, AZ etc.. and this really didn't strike me as anything other than a normal theater. This AMC has come a long way! I went here this past Tuesday to take advantage of the $5 promo that is currently running until the 19th and renovations were still being made. I then returned on Saturday to watch Coco with my god daughter and noticed they completed a majority of the work. Talk about fast labor! When we arrived, the box office line was pretty long so I opted to purchase tickets at the kiosk. A great update is this theatre now offers reserved seating. I can finally dine and shop without worrying about good seats! I will mention that the food service counters are still in the remodeling process. However, you are still able to get snacks and food but are limited to the menu that's posted. I was bummed I couldn't get curly fries! So, as we entered the theatre for our movie I was pleasantly surprised to see they officially have reclining seat. Spacious layout! Cleaning might now be better managed, but I won't count on it yet... I can not wait to see the new reconstruction once everything is finished as this has been one of my go to theaters. :) read more

My husband realized he dropped his wallet when we walked out of a family movie earlier this evening. We determined he must have dropped it when juggling the food order to bring inside the theater to our kids. He was relieved to hear guest services had the wallet which was turned in. This theater was absolutely disgusting on my most recent visit after staying away for 5+ years. The main waiting area / lobby was covered in food all over the floor and the concession areas were disgusting with spilled food. The person checking tickets shouted repeatedly trying to get his machine to scan our ticket's QR code. Very cramped seating for IMAX -- for the price I expected a lot more. When building the IMAX theater they didn't even get good seats. And I felt SO badly for those who were stuck to the left and right in the front rows, AMC left so little room between them and the screen that I have no idea how they could possibly watch the movie. And this is all in a theater that AMC says they renovated! The theater is mid-renovation, but AMC doesn't even handle that very well. There was construction equipment thrown about and temporary walls looked shoddy and cheap. A total rip off and I'll never be back. read more

Considering there are only two decent theatres near Hamilton, MA, this is the one we chose to go see the last installment of Harry Potter. The theatre was not too messy and the screen quality was good. I can't blame the noisy, rude people in the theatre on AMC. TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONE. Fo srs! There were four kiosks to buy tickets, but only ONE worked. HUGE line to buy tickets, with only one person working the front. So that is definitely a star removed. read more

This isn't our usual theater of choice, but my husband and I came here recently to see a movie (Patriots Day) that wasn't playing at any of our go-to theaters. Unfortunately, the experience was so bad that I will be actively avoiding this theater going forward. I really just had one issue with this place, but it was a big one. It was freaking disgusting. To be more specific, there was trash everywhere, big piles of spilled popcorn on the floor, overflowing trashcans - and it didn't seem like any effort was being made by staff to rectify the overall state of disarray that the theater was in. The grossness wasn't just limited to a few corners of the theater, either - it was literally everywhere. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse here, I made the brave decision to go the bathroom. I won't go into details, but let me just say - big mistake. I don't need my movie theaters to be fancy - I actually had pretty moderate expectations for this place (I really just wanted to see a movie without having to be in fear of contracting a mystery disease if I accidentally touched something). Unfortunately, those expectations were not met, and so I'll be sticking with any of the many other theater options in the North Shore area that don't leave me feeling like I need to take a shower after my visit. read more

We came by on a Saturday night for an 8:30 pm movie, and this place was dead. Perhaps it was the time of night, perhaps it was the location, but I was shocked that on a weekend night with several big films in theatres in January there would be so few people at the movies. This theatre is in the Liberty Tree Mall which seems to be on its way down. It was a little difficult to find for someone not from the area, but we asked enough pedestrians and found our way. AMC may benefit from having some signs posted. The main entry area was pretty dirty, with trash and food all over the floor. There was one kid working behind the counter for food and drinks and despite my charming personality, did not seem interested in talking at all. Teenagers these days... Our movie was packed, which was surprising considering the ghost town outside the door, but I assume we just missed the rush. Ultimately, I think this AMC needs some work. With the rush of "luxury" theatres lately, paying the same ticket price for a lesser experience just isn't going to cut it. read more

My past several visits have fallen far below the bar of what I would expect from a cheap dollar theater. The bathrooms are always disgusting, the theaters are not cleaned properly and the staff at the snack bar are too few and provide service dripping with attitude. You're new soda machines are always out of several selections or in need of service. I've snapped pictures this time and will be sending them to a corporate level. For what we as patrons pay for a night out at the movies, a clean theater and operational equipment should be the priority. I am fully disgusted in this location. read more

We went to see Death on the Nile in IMAX on Super Bowl Sunday. We expected light attendance but didn't think about how few people would be working. The tickets were almost $20 each which i would expect for an IMAX theater. The Problems. The theater was pretty dirty which I could excuse because there were so few people there to do the work. The stained fabric seats typical of a regular theater made me wonder if we were in the wrong place. For that price I expect a cushioned stadium seat that doesn't have to recline. The worst part was the person who came in late, sat in back, and talked almost the whole time. We assumed it was an employee because we couldn't imagine anyone paying that price to chat on the phone. We would have left but there was no one to complain to and get our money back. We just won't go back. Methuen is just a little further so we will only go there in the future. While the picture quality was good and the sound system was "okay" at best. This IMAX theater is disappointing and absolutely disgusting. The seats felt like concrete, and way too tiny for comfort. Especially after watching a 3 hour batman movie. Take you're money to Showcase Cinema and see a movie at their Xplus. It's the same experience as this AMC's sad excuse of "IMAX" but with a way better sound system, and reclining seats, and a SPOTLESS cleaning job. but if you want a real IMAX experience. Go to jordan's furniture in Reading if they ever open up again. read more

There are so many kids working here and yet so few actually work. The place was disgusting, the staff at the concession stand ...hopeless. The red headed dude who looked like he had some authority there ....useless! The actual theater we saw the movie Seven Pounds in had not been cleaned between at least one show . We saw the 9:15 , though they didn't even start the previews until close to 9:30. The only bright spot was a ticket seller named Denzel, he helped us out when Gran Torino was so packed that we couldn't find a decent seat. He suggested 7 pounds and it was a very good movie. Thanks Denzel! The three words to describe the theater: First....filthy Second ....dirty Third .............gross I hope the manager reads this ,as whomever was working as manager Friday night Jan 2nd dropped the ball big time.
