Went here for my first movie theater experience since 2019, hadn't been to a theater since before Covid-19. Usually we are able to watch movies when they release at home via streaming or we'll do the drive in during the summer. This theater went above and beyond my expectations. The lobby was very clean, bright and open. It included a bar and an arcade as well as some seating for those who were waiting for their movies. The snack selection was good, they were out of pretzels when we were there but got pop corn and one of the special character sodas. They also had gourmet popcorn, Cheeto and Oreo flavored. The seats were comfortable and reclined, the theaters had plenty of space so you aren't climbing over each other to get in and out of the rows. Additionally bathrooms were right near the theaters so running to the bathroom mid movie. read more

Nice cinema and even better staff. My daughter accidentally lost her wallet at the theater and the staff found it and kept it safe for her.

The employees there are not helpful at all. I couldn't find the QR code to my tickets so they tried to make me buy new tickets. I ended up finding the QR code thankfully. read more

Amazing experience one of the best movie theatres in the area. Upscale than any other theatre in the area. You gets easy points without paying to subscribe to a rewards system. The only draw back is that they need to have a separate theatre for kids and adults. When a kids film from their past show up and reminisce about their youth without the antsyness of kids. read more

Showcase Cinema de Lux Woburn - 25$ wasted - Cinema Near Me - Woburn, Massachusetts

Understaffed at the concessions, took 20 mins to get into the movie and it had already started when we sat down. But there were employees hanging at the bar chatting, help the concessions, there's a line of ppl and one person handling it!! $15 for a pretzel and a water, burnt on the outside undercooked on the inside. Could hear the movie playing in another theater during the quiet parts of the movie we were seeing. Last time I was here someone was holding up the ticket booth with some type of issue, which made everyone with online pre purchased tickets late to their movie, got into the movie and realized it was 3D no one gave us glasses had to run out and get them, lights were on in the theater and we had to go out to tell someone. I miss revere, it's a shame that it's gone. A trip to the movies can cost $50 easily, should be a good experience every-time. read more

I love this theater. We just went this past weekend to see Captain America and I realized everytime we go the people who work there are so nice, from the ticketing booth, to the snack bar, to the bar. Every worker is kind and that's so rare these days. We exclusively come here now when we want to see a movie in theaters. read more

Went to see "A Complete Unknown", 6:40 pm show in theater 5 and at the start of the movie there was a mouse running up and down the stairs to get to what aisle you were in. It was distracting to see this as I've never seen mice at this theater. I was sitting on the aisle (this was on 12/28 btw) and saw the activity of this mouse quite often. The theater was relatively full so I was surprised that we would see that happening as mice don't generally run with that many people around. In a building of that size if you see one as the saying goes there are probably more. Movie was pretty good so was annoyed to see this happening. I was reading the other review reporting this and apparently it has not been taken care of yet. read more

Went to see Oppenheimer last weekend. The theatre was absolutely filthy including the bathrooms. There seemed to be plenty of staff but most were just looking at their phones. The food and drink service was not good either. They were sold out of basic items like peanut M&Ms. Tried to get a cocktail and bartender had absolutely no idea what she was doing and couldn't make any of the items on the menu. I always liked this theatre and don't know what the heck happened- clearly no one managing the place. read more

This is why I HATE YELP and Snooty YELPERS. Most of you people have ZERO CLUE what you are talking about. I have been going to SHOWCASE for years. and even worked there in 1995 for my first EVER Job and in 2004 again for a bit. I never dealt with anyone who was rude, despite a lot of the things we had to put up with as staff from rude customers. (this was back before the assigned seating as well) . Now it is so much more convenient and easy. The theater is conveniently located right off 128/95 and close to the 93 interchange making it easy to get too from anywhere it is way better than AMC, dealing with the crazy families who just spent 4 hours shoppingw ith their kids at Burlington Mall, and easier to park at. The staff is fine in my many years of patronage there and I've never encountered rude staff. Sure the lines are long sometimes, but the staff has always been nice and never rude to me. Someitmes they run out of items especially on really busy Friday, Sat, Sunday weekends, you just have to learn to deal with setbacks people? Some of you people just cant say no and need to learn to deal with things. If theres no pretzels theres no pretzels just order something else. There isnt much they can do about it. Keep in mind too they shut the kitchen down at some point later on in the evening and once they sell o ut of items that is it if it is super busy they might run out just order something else people its that simple. Also Jack M, theaters cant always help if there s a problem with one of their film reels. If there's an issue in the theater you are in, dont wait halfway through the film, walk out and get the manager, they will fix the issue...and then if you are still unhappy ask for refund tickets they will usually give you a few of them if you complain, and you can get free extra refund tickets. And then just go to the next show or something. They never have a problem refunding your money and providing you with a refund ticket or two. They dont need signs telling people where the drop off area is . Its not rocket scicne dude. Just look at the front of the theater its right there...its pretty blatantly obvious to anyone with a brain where it is. The parking layout is pretty simple to learn as well. You can either cut around through the hotel and get in the back way that way or just go around past scoreboard grill and enter there, you exit the same way. Yeah they might need more signage, butits massachusetts, / Boston area what do you expect? We dont do signs here. The main thing I have always loved about Woburn is 1.) They dont care or bi*tch at you for bringing in your own snacks.. like some theaters. I've brought in a bag of kellys stuff from medford, andreas subs, and other stuff with no one even batting an eye. I usually get at least a popcorn and sometimes a pizza when I am there, and of course a drink. 2.) The free refill machine for sodas is awesome and they have the coke products so Mr. PIBB (which rocks) which I will miss when Showcase closes.., and the vanilla coke zero, and Cream Soda/Cream Soda Vanilla....are the best, and you can grab a refill on the way out and bring it home with you . and refill as many times as you want which is worth it right there. 3.) The seats are amazing at Woburn. Woburn has the best leather seats by far of any theater in the area. They are full reclining chairs and the foot rests go up at the touch of a button they are so comfortable you can fall asleep in them if the movie is bad. 4.) Assigned seating is awesome y ou can pick the seat you want and its still there for you if you come late. No more fighting people over seats. 5.) The lounge area and the bar - they have a full bar, which is never crowded, and a arcade and lounge area........the lounge are is nice to chill in before a show and quiet for the most part. 6.) The fact it never gets too crowded except maybe thurs, Fri, Sat, nights and Sunday during the day on weekends , and during the summer when kids are out of school. Most weekday nights its dead and you can get the pick of the seats. 7.) they show a lot of cool themed movies like say anime or animation , or older comedy films like spaceballs, and other things..throughout the year. which is coool. 8.) Overall the theater is a better theater in the Boston area. I have never had any issues there and have been a patron for most of my life. I am sad it and all showcases will be closing. I will probably only go to arlington capitol and support mom and pop theaters in the area. I do not like AMC. and or will just watch at home from now on on my tv. read more

Went to see Elvis today, 6/26 4:15. There was virtually no one in the lobby. We ordered our tickets and snacks in advance. The lobby looked like they just had a kids party, popcorn all over the place. They have 3 soda fountains. 1 completely out of order. Second, no ice or Coke, the third ice no Coke. The manager was there helping the 4 people at the counter. It took 15 minutes to refill one machine. If not for the seats, I'd go elsewhere. read more

Showcase Cinema de Lux Woburn - Cinema Near Me - Woburn, Massachusetts

Wish I could give 4.5 stars but alas a 4 will have to do. In this review I'm mostly comparing this theater to the usual theater I go to when I watch movies with friends (AMC Burlington). Now this theater had been upgraded a few years ago (the last time I went they had your standard non-reserved seats) so I was curious to see how it compared and boy was I not disappointed. The parking lot here is huge and wider than what I typically experience at the Burlington location (better hope the person next to you didn't park 5mm off center otherwise it'll be a tight squeeze!). If you're coming from the Boston area (ie: From 93) the exit to the theater is almost right there when you merge onto 128 which is great for me. Furthermore, the interior is expansive with high ceilings and neatly maintained (no popcorn strewn on the floor) and even included a bar! The seats themselves were very comfortable (perhaps slightly better than the burlington seats but it's pretty comparable). Overall I was quite happy with the experience and will return in the future. The biggest downside as far as I can tell is their rewards system. Unlike AMC, there's no waiver of the admin fees when buying in bulk online for people (I believe you have to go to the location physically to get the membership?) so that's a slight bummer. But definitely not a deal breaker for me! read more

First time going to this theater and what a disappointment! Food staff seemed quite understaffed which resulted in a back log of people waiting. The theater itself was pretty disgusting. Popcorn all over the place. The leather seats were all quite worn down. The projector itself casted a yellow halo on the screen. At first I thought it was the movie but when it didn't go away I knew something was wrong. The declining of movie theaters is real these days but ever more so when theaters are not well maintained. read more

Beyond the strangely set up parking lot, we are big fans of the revamped Showcase movie theatre right off of I-95. With how hit and miss customer service can be these days, it's a nice feature to be greeted not by a ticket window with a grumpy teenager....but instead a life sized touchscreen system where you can simply purchase any ticket you want, including for dates in the future. This is a nice touch as I wait for a new movie to come out and head here a few days in advance to bypass the stupid fee that you have to pay online. From the prompts, you also get to choose your seats and if you're early enough in getting tickets, you have your pick of the litter. Theatres have had to adapt quickly, so I'm glad our local cinema has the powered reclining seats along with the latest digital/audio technologies (no IMAX though) you would come to expect when paying $12-16 for a movie. Oh and I forgot to mention. all movies are just $8 on Tuesdays which has turned into a handful of date nights for us. I can't get over how comfy it is to watch a movie here as you don't feel like you have any neighbors with the spacing involved. I realize this is becoming standard at other places but feel it needs to be pointed out for those that may have grown up going to seedy places in the 80's and 90's. I usually shy away from overpriced foods at the movies but will partake in a beer so it was nice to see they offer up some drinks you can take into the actual theatre with you. I believe the Ben & Jerry's that used to dawn its presence here is no longer. The lobby is expansive and almost feels a little empty. They don't rope off the area to go into itself but there is a ticket taker that will rip your receipt in half which you get from the machine instead of an actual ticket. While we love both the Burlington and Assembly Row theatres, this one is quickly moving up the list because of proximity, value and cleanliness. read more

Every Monday they have "Silver Screen Classic" for $2.00. Each ticket comes with a refreshments such as cookies, coffee, tea, or popcorn. Most movies are from the 1940-50's and the crowd of course tends to be older. A great opportunity for those on a limited budget. Get there early as it fills up fast. Movie start at 1:00. read more

Great idea for my Daughter's Birthday Party, but many flaws. To begin with the party room refrigerator did not work, then party assistant was late getting the Go Boxes, therefore I missed the beginning of the movie and additional theater birthday photos for my daughters album. Also, the party has to be booked a month prior to planning but the movie schedule doe's not release til 4days before the party. Honestly I have never been so frustrated when not having a choice but to wait on my party arrangements then to have to ask parents to wait as well. Wow! I was not able to release invitations for guests, couldn't order cake with a definite guest list, and I had to guess on the number of supplies needed for my daughters special day. I do have one positive review.... the Manager was very helpful with anything I needed or wanted to bring for my daughter's party due to her GF Diet. Unfortunately the Box Office needs to release a movie schedule sooner than 4 days before a special event such as a birthday party booked a month prior to the event date. With this said, I guess I'm warning parents! Be aware you will be planning 4days prior to your Party Date. No Time On Invitations NO moving forward with party plans. *Good Luck you will have parents, friends and family waiting on the side line for when the party begins and when pick up time will be. read more

With so many amazing theaters in the area I wouldn't waste your time or money on this crappy one. I went with my daughter and we ordered a small popcorn. The person behind the counter 'pushed' the large popcorn to my daughter even though I kept saying no. It's completely not cool to do this. I ended up giving into their pressure and left the theater with 3/4 a bag of stale popcorn. They have a bar that serves watered down drinks and they card everyone. Even my 74 year old mother. Really!? I asked the manager with help and he was simply rude and knows nothing of customer service. I showed up excited for a great night at the movies and left with considerably less money and a bad taste in my mouth. They don't sell tickets online which is annoying and there is nothing redeeming about this theater over any of the amazing ones within a 5 mike radius. read more

Clean and comfortable to watch movies. Note though, Auditorium like 14, there's a path in center of auditorium. Warning! Don't seat in the first row in front of path. So many people walked in/out of the theater during movies, monsters!!! They block the view as they walk. read more

Came here for a midnight showing of 47 Meters over the weekend. I really liked the atmosphere and the fact that you can order a drink and bring it into the theater with you. What was even better was the drink I ordered was a mango margarita and when the bartender made it, he sealed it like one of those bubble tea drinks. There was mango cubes in my drink! It looked like an adult bubble drink! The seats are comfy, I liked that each room was cozy and not super large. It was a fun time and would definitely come back. Also, the bartender who served my boyfriend and I was awesome, I wish I knew his name so I could give him a shout out! read more

One of my favorite movie theaters! Tickets are decently priced (and even cheaper on Tuesdays!). Refreshments are good and even include some options that are more like meals rather than snacks (the buffalo bites are my favorite). Plus you can get cocktails/wine too. Seats are comfy and recline just like the ones at other deluxe cinemas at half the cost. Also love that you can buy online and receive seats before you get to the theater, which comes in clutch if you don't have time to arrive super early to get good seats. read more

I really liked this theater the first couple of times I went. They have all reclining seats and it has never been full when I go, but also never empty. However I went last week and it completely changed my impression of this place. While I was waiting for the movie to come on a mouse ran right past my feet. It was nice out so I was wearing flip flops and it really annoyed me. The whole movie I kept on looking down and was unable to enjoy my movie. After the movie I went and spoke to someone I assumed was management (most of the employees were wearing uniforms but this one was wearing a suit) and told him about the mouse. There was no apology of any kind or surprise (even if it were a fake surprise!) and his only answer was "I will let the exterminator know NEXT TIME he comes in". I will not be back to this location. read more

I took my daughter here for a matinee yesterday. This place is in very serious need of renovations! The lobby looks like 1985 came and stayed. I went to buy a soda at the concession stand, only to turn and walk away thirsty. The concession stand was absolutely filthy. Used packaging was in plain sight crumpled up on the floor where the servers were working. It was just plain unclean looking in every way, and I would bet unsanitary. An added bonus was the gum I stepped in that had congealed to the /80s carpet in the hideous lobby. The cinema itself had old, lumpy seats, and was a little on the small side. Bottom line, we don't go to movies that much, but will have to seek out another local option for our next screening. Avoid this place. read more

It's a really great place to go. The assigned seating is great because you don't have to worry about not being in a seat you don't like. The reclining seats are awesome, and one of the great things about this place. Their parking lot is huge, plenty of space to park. Their employees are super nice! I thought I had lost my ID card in there. The guy at the concession stand and the other at the bar took down my information in case they found it and mentioned it to the cleaning crew. The chairs are comfy, just need to be cleaned more. I would say if there is a rainy day, do NOT come here as this will be the haven for all the nearby dwellers for enterainment. I guarentee you will be dissapointed as all theatres will be filled. I came here on a rainy day, and they did not have spots open for any showing. This place is very popular and nice, so I would recommend on a regular day if you want to come here and catch a nice flick. This place also gets very cold so bring an outer layer garment! read more

I have problems with Showcase Cinemas. It's not just the Woburn location, it's the whole sha-bang. Showcase has the most expensive ticket prices of all theaters for some reason. It truly makes no sense. Why, do you ask? Let's start a little list. -The screens are remarkably small. I feel like my TV is bigger than any projection screen I have seen offered. -The chairs are mind blowingly uncomfortable. They barely recline, they smell like 15 year old coke & popcorn butter and I'm concerned that I may leave with an STD or two once I exit. -I saw Rambo at one with my step brother. He didn't turn his cell phone ringer off and was talking & texting to his dope friend next to him. The manager came and spoke to me. Did I mentioned they spilled salt all over the floor? I had to talk to a guy younger than me (I was 23 at the time) to convince him not to throw us out. -Do you enjoy paying $7 for a soda to sip on during your feature film? Me neither. You know what's worse? Showcase refuses to provide free refills. This is a crime on scale with genocide. -For some reason, all parking is allocated so you have to walk a fifth of a mile around a giant white building that says Showcase on it. -I hate little kids. Movie theaters are full of kids. I can never see a Pixar movie in theaters again. I only wish kids could understand miscarriages & cancer so they could cry for a legitimate reason. Now, again, I'd like to point out that this applies to all Showcase Cinema locations. Please keep these notes in mind if you ever attempt to visit one. Trying to be consistent here and since I gave the Burlington Cinema a solid two -- this one's more like two and a half -- but I tell ya, what a sad state of affairs the Woburn Showcase Cinema is in. Fifteen years ago this place (and the Burlington) used to be hott stuff. I don't know, maybe this place does blow up on a Fri or Sat night (like Rick suggests), but we rolled in on a Sat afternoon and it was like a ghost town and as we walked up I half expected one of the letters to drop off the sign. The size of the parking lot is pretty hilarious -- I swear, you could fit a drive-in next door with all the parking space they've got. There were two or three people in the sad, cavernous lobby, not counting employees. I was trying to remember the last movie I'd seen here... I think it might have been True Lies, and I don't think the place has changed one bit since then except for, you know, all the colors are now faded and the carpet is worn; half of the lights on the big boards telling you what movies and the times they're playing no longer work, but yeah, it's the same place. After getting our ticket we walked over to the concession stand where the teenage pimply kid from the Simpson's was working with one other girl. They both looked like they were serving hard time for crimes they did not commit. We got our standard pack of Twizzlers and went to find our theater. A grizzled old man sitting in a chair took our tickets. I'm all for getting senior citizens out n' about and keeping them busy but it was quite odd that they actually had this old man roped off with those retractable dividers -- he was boxed in on all sides! Walking up to him you get the feeling that he's on display and you shouldn't get too close. Anyway, it was a little weird. Getting into our little shoebox of a theater, we took our seats and due to some missing screws or bolts or something the entire row wobbled precariously. We settled in, minding our balance lets we go tumbling backwards, and made some jokes about who'll be in charge of the tv remote while the movie is playing. read more

No stadium seating and a maze of a parking lot. Went here today for a specific movie that was no longer in a lot of other theater. When I got there I was told it was no longer playing. Huh??? The movie in question was on the marquee and listed on Fandango plus other movie listing services, but not IN the theater. Spoke with a manager as to how this could be. She apologized but offered no explanation. Some data entry person obviously wasn't doing their job. read more

I've always been fond of this theater. And while they're not the greatest, they do their jobs and play their movies on time. I've never had a problem here with cleanliness, rudeness, broken chairs, sticky floors, nasty bathrooms or any of the other "bad stuff" in other theaters. I'm comfortable here. I never have to worry about insane lines. My popcorn is always the same. It's like home to me. Woburn has always been my go-to theater. Unless someone else wants to really really really go somewhere, otherwise this is my choice spot. Parking is never really issue, except when you're trying to figure out how to get into the maze and how to get out of it. I guess you can say I'm that lab rat trying to drive my car through it. read more

Buying the tickets and checkin was just fine. But as we made our way to the theater it got interesting. Our 2 reserved seats were extremely dirty. The theater was half empty so we looked at some other seats, and they were ALL. DIRTY. There were grease stains, left over food, and clear wear on the seats. Covid or not, this is disgusting!!! These seats,especially the arm chairs, need to be sanitized after each show. Considering the health circumstances, this should be a given, however it clearly needs to be noted as we were extremely disappointed. read more

Just want to add more and so I've decided to make it an update. I wish this location had the stadium seating like Revere but it doesn't. Tuesday gets really busy, so go early. When there's clearly two lines and people are just in one, be the b*tch and get in the "second" line because people will say something to you but if you don't there will be someone who comes up and tells you all that there are two lines. Get it? Good cause I've "cut the line" before and gotten yelled at and just as I did it a worker came up and was like two lines, two lines! And I was like HA! With the popcorn thing, if you're serving any food product go by the rule. Server gets the bottom of the product to serve to the buyer who gets the remaining top . That's what I missed in the previous review I wanted to clarify that. It's gross and dingy but it works for a date night or GNO once in a while. read more

Well, pre-renovations in April of 2014, I would have given 3 stars. This area of Mass has very little in the way of stadium seating, so three stars is based on the fact that it a few minutes away and always has seats available. Since the renovations started, however, I have gone twice, only to have it sold out twice. One, granted was the Muppets during a weekday during School Break. So, ok, I get it. But tonight (a Tuesday), I tried to see a movie (the fault in our stars). I came 30 min before the movie. It was sold out. Why is this? Well, they answered a question that nobody asked: can we add reclining chairs and make people reserve seating in advance? And take away seats from each screen? And trap you next to a texter/screen checker with no ability to move? And do absolutely everything we can to get you to buy tickets ahead of time online (plus that ridiculous service fee that they charge you for doing their jobs for them?)? Speaking of which, I then tried to buy tickets online (now about 10 min to showtime)...and what do you know? Still available to buy! So this is a pretty crummy business model (are they looking to the airline industry as a goal?). Either one of a couple of sad outcomes afoot here-- 1. The tix were actually still avail to buy online (service fee!) and there was still space 2. The online service (movietickets.com) was wrong, and when you show up for your seat, you will be told it is oversold (would you like a $500 voucher good for travel in the Continental US?) With increased competition from home theaters, you'd think they would be bending over backwards to get butts into the seats. After getting a babysitter and having to turn right around, I can say that I'm in no hurry to leave my home theater any time soon! I'll happily buy the BluRay when it comes out. It will only cost around $4 more than our tickets would have cost tonight. When the corporate theaters go belly up, I'll happily listen to their executives whinge about how they lost their way of life. They should keep in mind that they will be the cause of their own demise. read more
