Rockford Showplace 14, I just want to talk. I sat down and immediately questioned every decision that led me to this moment. These seats look like they've survived three world wars, a soda spill epidemic, and maybe a small house fire. The stains have stains. I'm pretty sure one of them winked at me. I don't know what chemicals could handle whatever this is, but y'all might need holy water at this point. Movie was great though. I just hope I don't leave here with a rash named after the theater. Would I return? Sure... but only if I bring my own seat cover, a hazmat suit, and emotional support hand sanitizer. read more

First time I I've been to this theater in 10 years. Was a good movie. Over priced for popcorn and pop. Ticket was also on the high side, but I wanted to see the movie. Down side! The theater stunk seats were filthy and carpets dirty. Wouldn't even touch the arm rests. Again the smell was awful. Theatre was pretty much empty. My wife and I were excited to watch Project Hail Mary at Theater 14. We don't normally go to the theatre but I was really excited to see this one on the big screen and I was surprised that my wife wanted to go as well! So this was a special night out. So we arrive 20 minutes before the 5:10 pm start time and there was no one at the registers... I mean three people waiting to purchase tickets but no one there at all. So we walk right into line to get popcorn and pretzels which cost $48...what? YES $48! that's $13 more than the tickets cost. I have no words. Moving on, we spot a manager at the desk behind the counters and ask where to scan our tickets. Matt was very polite and scanned our tickets and directed us to the correct theater. Here's where the fun begins. Even been a captive audience? Like on a plane or train? Same thing here!! The commercials started at 5 PM, then at 5:12 pm the trailers started and continued for 30 more minutes!! So we sat though nearly 45 minutes of commercials and trailers while we enjoyed our $50 of popcorn and pretzel bites. So, in conclusion, nearly $100 to see a good movie. Love the big screen, no idea why the sound is at 100 db... my wife brought and used ear plugs!! And we are not old by any measure!! Once in a while is cool, but not the whole movie!! The money I get... you're all greedy fu***. But you will never take my time again, or my wife's, or my children's, if I have any say in it. 45 minutes of captive commercials and trailers... Would I sit through this anyplace else, Absolutely not! Well you went way, way over board for this family. So, you'll never see us in your theater again. And I will tell this story every time the topic comes up. Shame on you. You traded 3 generations of my family for $100 bucks. Hope you met your profit margin. read more

Look it shouldn't be humid inside let alone inside a movie theater. The whole place from walking in to getting into our seats was humid. Not to mention they can upgrade their bar but not their seats. Not a single recliner in this whole place. read more

A good theater! I split my time between here and 16 and I like that the showtimes are different to give a good variety to fit your schedule. Love the app and the AMC stubs program. Also love that they offer discount Tuesday's if you have a stubs account, where tickets are cheaper Tuesday nights. This isn't the best theater I've ever been to, but things on average seem to be well-maintained and the staff is very friendly. I just wish the food and drink prices were lower, but that's every movie theater nowadays. read more

Might just be me, but every time i see this place, at night from the parking lot, the front lobby looks dark like it is closed. Staff is always friendly and helpful. But, the lobby and theaters seem to always be dirty. No one is walking around cleaning things. We even had popcorn already on our seats when we tried to sit down. A good venue for cinema locally. Big, plenty of space, doesn't feel crowded, nice big lot. Prices are going to be standard for movies theaters in this day and age (which I consider expensive) - so if you come to here, prepare to open your wallet. I consider AMC 14 average. It's a big ass theater...what more is there to say? They show all the junk that any AMC shows because its just any AMC. Sometimes they offer good deals on stuff and if you're a loyal moviegoer, they'll shout you some kickdowns, but other than that, you kinda know what to expect if you've ever been to a multiplex: overpriced everything, lots of theaters, sticky bathroom floors, etc. That said, where else are you gonna go? So went to see frozen with kids. Waited 40 minutes for popcorn and drink. They had 4 lines open for the premier member(not everyone was premier they got in wrong line) and 1 for normal. It's a joke at this place. Every seat looks like someone puked on it, but they now serve alcohol. Maybe upgrade the first theater first. Have seen 1/2 dozen movies here over the last 4 years. Purchased tickets thru Fandango or AMC. Theater is relatively new. Concessions are crazy expensive (way overpriced) and the combos are confusing. If you attend Matinees, expect to get last night's popcorn (stale)...ask the attendants to make some fresh. Cannot use credit or debit card at the concessions. You pay cash or purchase AMC BUCKS at the ticket seller station. Hmmmm. Refills are a mystery on whether or not they are free. Restrooms are OK, not great. Need hand sanitizer stations. Stadium seating is great and handicap access is no problem. Sound levels in theaters need to be checked and adjusted more often. read more

$10.25 for a adult ticket & $13.50 for 3D ticket in the pm on weekends. The ticket prices appear to fluctuate by time & day of the week so I've also seen $6 for the earliest time & $7.50 for midday on the weekend. I don't go often (1-2 xs per year) but have never experienced a problem there. The seating is comfy & the theater is clean. There is typically a lot of space if you don't go to a new release. I avoid the concession stands 1) b/c it's all junk & 2) the high price. read more

This theater needs to be cleaned thoroughly. The bathroom was gross. I had to look in 6-7 stalls before I found a clean looking toilet. The seats in the theater were also stained. Not too bad of a theater! Pretty much every room is as good as the others, so even the smallest rooms, reserved for movies that have been out a while, look and sound as good as the flagship rooms. The seats aren't too bad either, although having a reclining feature would be nice. I must say though that the staff does a very good job at keeping the aisles, restrooms, and overall establishment clean and well cared for. I've never noticed any signs of wear and tear or running down, which speaks volumes considering it is one of the only theaters in the area. I'll definitely come back here again and I'd recommend it to friends. Sure, movies are expensive these days, but go to a matinee showing or a discounted showing (during the week, for example) and then spend the saved money on a refreshment whose earnings go straight to the local theater. read more

I pretty much have resorted to driving an hour away to see a movie in a theater that is cleaner and better kept than this one. It's gotten very outdated and the chairs are gross. Floors are always dirty and there's usually still popcorn in between the seats. I would expect this at a discounted theater, but for a $10+ ticket, I'd expect the theater to keep up appearances. Premiere line is a joke, it's more like if you want to cut in line, just do it here because no one is going to verify anything. read more

first off. this is a theater. you can thank fellow movie goers for sticky floors because they're clumsy and too lazy to put their drink in the cup holders. second, not sure where people are getting the idea that you can't use credit/debit cards at the concessions. i use mine 99% of the time. the other 1% is when i don't get concessions. overpriced concessions? welcome to the theater business. theaters don't really make their money off of showing films. the studios do. the theaters make their cash by selling concessions. now that that's cleared up. yea, this is a decent theater. they keep it as clean as they can. seems to be well managed and well staffed. the theater walls DO seem a little thin as one reviewer mentioned. Hard to find any art house flicks here but lets face it. that's a niche market. It would be nice to have one or two once in awhile though. stop here. get some popcorn and enjoy the show. read more

I usually go to the movies a lot and this location is about an extra 10 minutes from my house but I don't mind. It's cleaner and it's not as busy as the Rockford location. Overall, I have not had any trouble here with staff or even younger patrons who tend to make noise. They have a smaller arcade and you can fill your own drinks/icees. read more

The most expensive theatre I have ever been to and for no good reason; the place is a dump. $22 for 2 tickets, $14 for a large popcorn and drink and charge extra for flavorings that are free at MJR. The sound and picture were great, seats uncomfortable. read more

Been here two times. I guess my best criticism would be to get rid of or move the jukebox arcade in the middle of the floor plan. Besides that, it's a very nice, clean theatre. First thing I noticed was all of the signs were off no clue where I'm going and the tickets are not very specific on where to go. As I was going to my seat the floor became stickier and stickier until at last I was in my seat and ground zero of the spilled soda. At one point I went to lift my foot and it came right out of my shoe. Every time I moved my foot it was so disturbing. I honestly couldn't believe it. Never had this issue here or anywhere for that matter. Hopefully they pay more attention to their employees and make sure the jobs are getting done properly. read more

I went here to see Horrible Bosses with my boyfriend and some of his friends when we were in town visiting his family. The main reason I liked this theater more than the other one in Rockford is because the arm rests come up so I could snuggle in. Otherwise there's nothing special about this location. read more

This AMC needs to be renovated. The seats are worn and could be cleaner. The men's restroom is always gross. There is urine on the floor and many times the soap dispensers are empty. I've been coming here since it opened and have watched what used to be a very clean theater evolve into one that needs some TLC. read more

This is the nicest looking place of all the cinema's in the Rockford Area. Everyone is friendly and parking is fantastic. Buying online the tickets true the Fandago app saves a bunch of time and the people over there know what to do with them :) Great for the family... however read my review for Showplace 16, if you want to go alone or with the guys/girls. read more

Went to see a movie march 18th and was shocked when the ticket master was so nice. Usually when experiencing the movie theaters, you'd expect to buy your tickets and go to the movie without talking to anyone. Travis, my ticket master, was so nice. No one was in line behind me- which made it easier to talk quickly- but he did as little as cracking a joke and lightened my day. This theater is very nice and I prefer it over Showplace 16 it's cleaner for the most part and it's not as crowded. It's can be very cold in the hot months so bring a layer because they crank the AC. They run deals after the movie is out for a few weeks and if you don't like the food pricing bring your own but don't be to obvious about it. Only open cans during loud crashes and booms. And keep your area as clean as it was when you got there. read more

Bought tickets day before, showed up 20 minutes early for movie and went to go sit and there were no seats and if there were seats they were single seats and ppl wouldn't move their coats to make room. We Go to customer service and they said movie was sold out, so basically the plus two that came with us that jus purchased their tickets when we got there should have never been sold their tickets. Waste of time, I would have jus got my money back if they would have told my friends they were sold out. read more

Very nice inside & clean. The popcorn, pretzels, hotdogs, & candy are all good but overpriced just like in any movie theatre. But very comfortable and I have a good time going to see movies. Great for families and kids. Has a small but good arcade. Bathrooms are huge & nice. read more

This theater is nice. I prefer going here as to showplace 16. I feel comfortable going to a show myself every now and then when my husband can't come. Friendly staff. One time when we were at a movie. There was some older lady(?). Who had her bare feet up on the seat in front of her. YIKES!!!!!! Some people!
