Spent way too much money here to be treated like I did by a bartender. Drinks, food, gambling. Many other bars within 5-15 minutes from here to be treated poorly by a bartender that hasn't been around as long as I've been patronizing this place. I have many friends that follow where I go or where I'll be. Multiple incidents with this same bartender. Seems to be on crack or high. I ordered a drink once and she took all $16 from the bar that I had out there and I jokingly said, "sure just take all my money" she rang up my drink and threw the rest in her tip bucket. ‍‍ read more

Biohazard warning! I asked twice for them to please put soap in the men's room and the response I got was "That bathroom is getting retiled so there is no soap dispenser." They think this is acceptable as patrons and potentially kitchen staff are touching their junk and bathroom surfaces and then touching and making food. GROSS! How hard is it to go to Walgreens and get a soap bottle? If that's their standard for cleanliness thinking it's ok for ALL the men to not be washing their hands after going pee or poop is ok on a busy weekend, how are they preparing the food? Let me repeat- all the drunk men here have not washed their hands after going to the bathroom. read more

This is a dive bar/biker bar with a really decent patio area and some great live music. We stopped in for a drink during a Saturday ride and ended up staying 3 hours! Great bands, good food & prices. We just had so much fun! read more

As far as bar and grills go, Neighbors is one of the better ones I've been to in the local Rockford area Pros- -Decent bar food as far as I could tell. Had a burger and fries. My friends had the fish fry. At least up to bar standards, maybe basic restaurants too -Great place for warm summer nights. Plenty of space on their outdoor patio -Wasn't really keeping tabs on the drink prices, but nothing popped out in a bad way. - Most areas seemed well kept Cons- -Kind of aggressive crowd here. This is a small bar with an outdoor patio area that's almost as big as the bar area from what I could tell. We showed up on a Sunday afternoon. When we walked in, I swear everyone stopped what they where doing to turn and look at us. I may have imagined it, but I thought I heard the sound of a needle skipping across vinyl. I could tell right off that this was a regulars only bar, outsiders need not stop in. This place was PACKED! There was no room for us to sit inside. Now, again, this is not a very big bar, so it doesn't take a lot of people to pack it. There is not a lot of tables or bar space on the interior. We thought about going to the patio, but it was chilly out. We stood for a while just trying to find a place to saddle up to and talk, there was only three of us. After being completely ignored by the bartenders for 15 minutes, we decided we didn't really want to hang here and left to go to another bar down the road. read more

I don't go out to many bars in Rockford, but have been here on a couple occasions because my husband's Co worker/friend performs here with his band. We decided to go watch him this recent Friday and had a blast. The drink prices are very decent for what you get, I'm all for that! What really knocks this place out is the staff. I want to especially point out Kelly. She was very attentive to our group and made sure we were okay. She kept coming by to check on us and made sure we were taken care of. Customer service is definitely what gets me to come back anywhere. My husband and I are just considering coming back just out for some drinks and trying out their food. Celebrating Cinco De Mayo 2 days early with my best friend since we both work Friday. The atmosphere changed from fun to awkward after the bartender ran out the door after a old man that didn't pay his tab apparently. Worst staff ever. I went with some friends for a night out. We went out on their patio and waited 20 mins for a bartender to come over. The bartenders were doing shots and smoking behind the bar talking to from what I could tell their friends. Ordered something simple, I ordered a burger medium well and tator tots. Waited almost another 15 minutes to get my food. When I got my food, the burger was well done and the tater tots were cold. I brought the food to the bartender and had explained what was wrong. She then took my food to a gentlemen with glasses at the other side of the bar who was drinking and taking shots. She expressed what I said was wrong and he got upset and took it to the kitchen. Needless to say another 15 minutes later that same gentleman brought my food back to the bartender. I have never been to a establishment where the cooks were allowed to drink and take shots. I had asked if there was a manager on shift and I was told the owner was there. The owner was pointed out to me and He was hammered. Not one employee was using a mask, wearing gloves, and wasn't wiping any tables down after people had left. The only thing the employees were interested in was drinking. read more

If they can't make a tuna melt right, then what can you expect from what you order that takes more than 2 marbles rolling in your head to make. It was supposed to come on toasted white bread. Which was more like overly buttered microwaved wonder bread. The tuna was cold & wasn't drained of the liquid that probably came from the can of discount tuna it came in. The cheese was some amalgam of processed yellow govt. issued rations that wasn't melted or suitable for animals. And when they make a screw driver & use orange juice in a small bottle that looks like it came out of a vending machine, it's all down hill from there. read more

I have never graced this place with presence when it comes to food. I come to drink and hunt for cougars as this is where we open our season. I'd give it five stars if the success rate was a shade higher, but hey, thats the thrill of the hunt. Anyways, this small house like venue is ideal for whatever occasion. This place is small but bolsters an outdoor patio w/ an additional bar during the warmer months. The DJ's on the weekend only help this electric atmosphere. I would recommend this for someone who wants to throw more than a few back while mingling with the always interesting Rockford folk. As I eluded to before, this is the offcial bar where we kick off cougar hunting season for the Spring/Summer circuit. 2010 will be no different. Rock on Neighbor's! read more

I definitely agree with the other yelper when he says it's a regulars only bar. The entire bar does seem to stop if you walk in there. The inside is very small so it's hard to even get to the bar. The outside area is pretty great though with plenty of seating. It's pretty close to my house so it is a nice short trip but prefer other bars over this one most nights. read more
