The reclining seating and cleanliness have me giving this Muncie theatre a 5-star review. We went on a weeknight so it was dead (and very clean...everywhere) and the theatre wasn't busy at all. I would have liked to have a seat not sitting next to someone, given that the theatre was empty and full of seats, but these were the only options that were given when we paid for our tickets (kinds thought that was weird?). That would be the reason for the 4-stars. We didn't get concessions but they do have the freestyle Coke machines so that's a plus! Thanks to Yelp, I'll check out movies on Tuesday night for just $5! Also, if you are a major movie-goers, subscribing to the AMC STUBS is a great value!

Showplace 12 is just an okay multiplex, there is nothing particularly impressive about it, but the staff is very friendly, they do a great job of keeping the place clean, and their prices are more than reasonable for a first run cinema. Tickets are around $2 less than you'd pay in Indianapolis or Noblesville (Showplace 12 is $8.99 for adult evening tickets), but concessions are basically the same price as Indy. I usually make the drive to Indianapolis to get a better experience with larger screens, better sound systems, and nicer seating, but Showplace 12 is hard to pass up on a Tuesday night when tickets are only $4.49 (if you have a Stubs Premier card, keep in mind you have to buy your tickets at the theatre to get the discount), so most Tuesdays I will come here to watch films I didn't feel like driving to Indy for or to watch a film I loved for a second time. Showplace 12 was built by Kerasotes in 2005 and it is really starting to show its age now. Most of the rooms have smaller sized screens than what you'll find in modern multiplexes and the seats are a bit worn out and stained as they have never been replaced. AMC has made a few upgrades to this theatre over the years, they've added 4K projection, upgraded sound, and Coke Freestyle machines, but the place could really use a renovation at this point, new seating is an absolute must, larger screens and a new sound system would be nice too.

The Towne Square Cinema has three screens and always offers an adult and child friendly film. I've been here many times with friends and family and am always pleased with my visit. Oh! And on Tuesdays they allow you to bring your own bowl for free popcorn. Can't beat that! So if you're in Winchester and are wondering ... what the heck am I going to do to entertain myself? Just know that the theatre is a great option. :)

Towne Square Cinema offers three screens in a beautiful historic building with extremely reasonable ticket and concession prices. Ticket prices are $7 for a 2D movie & $10 for a 3D movie. In the concession aspect, they offer different popcorn combos and seasonal specials, a variety of candy, dippin dots, pickles, flavored popcorn, and fountain & bottled beverages. Example of a combo would be - 2 medium drinks and a large popcorn (with up to four smaller bags of popcorn on the side) for $11.25 - what a steal. This movie theater also offers private parties (for a great price) where you can watch any of the movies playing, bring in a movie of your own, or even hook up game consoles and play video games on the big screen! Are you ready for this one? You can even host a SLEEPOVER at the cinema. That's right - a sleepover. If you're ever looking for something fun to do in Winchester, make sure you visit Towne Square Cinema!

Better than 90% of movie theaters in the Indy metro area…read more The good: - Clean - Reasonably priced - Heated and cooled reclining seats - Order delivery to your seat - Sort of IMAX What could be better: - Heating/cooling didn't work for our seats - This is by far the loudest movie theater I've ever been to - I feel like if the sound was 10% lower the experience would've been the same and safer for ears haha Overall had a great time watching the Odyssey.

Actually, I'm not entirely sure that it has cooling, but the button switches from red (heated) to blue (not heated). They recline really far back but still allow ample space for others to pass by without you needing to shift your position very much. I was disappointed that the concessions menu is not shown on their website. They give a brief description of the type of things that they offer, but not the full menu or pricing. At the concession stand, you can order and receive certain items immediately (such as candy, popcorn, hot dogs, classic nachos and drinks) but other items (like pizza and the ultimate nachos) will be delivered to your seats. There is also a full bar with an option to order a drink for now and one for later that will be delivered to your seat at a later time. That's pretty cool. In the lobby area, there is a player piano, photo booth and claw machine that dispenses rubber ducks (like the ones that Jeep drivers exchange). The drink area is where you will find condiments, napkins and straws. They have sodas and slushies. They also have lap trays that you can place into the cup holders of your seats for your food orders. They sit kind of high, but it's better than not having any type of tray or table. The cuddle seats are cute little love seats with an ottoman, but they are positioned on the first row (being the least desirable seats in the theater). I tested one out and you would basically need to lay down the entire time in order to see the screen. I didn't reserve those on either visit, but if you bring a blanket and your boo, that could be nice. The hot dog that I ordered was spicy. I wasn't expecting that, but maybe I should've known based on the name listed on the menu. I just wasn't "in the know". The popcorn is freshly popped. We weren't huge fans of the pizza though. It could benefit from being baked a bit longer. Surround sound is good. Lighting/contrast was good. In my opinion, it was a little warm in the theater, which drew my attention to two tiny ceiling fans located on either side of the theater. I'm not sure what their purpose is because they couldn't possibly be there to cool that huge theater. If you run hot, bring a personal fan!
