I went there tonight for a live viewing of the BTS concert. There were plenty of staff at the concession stand who were courteous and helpful. The show was in theater number six which was a very nice size. The seats were super comfortable and reclined with a foot rest. Also, what I like about the seating here is that each row is very private, and I could barely see the people in the rows ahead of me. Plus there was plenty of room between my seat and the next ones over. The sound and picture quality were excellent! I am happy that this updated AMC theater remains even though the mall has been dead for years. read more

First time here was back in January. Girlfriend and I came to see Zootopia 2. The film was decent, but thats not part of this review. Certainly plenty of parking, this being one of many locations connected to a mall. The place seemed to be mostly clean, and there was nothing that stuck out as rough in that department. The concession people were nice enough , and generally the place seems well run. We ordered the big bite sampler , which came at a decent pace. Everything was fine, with the mozzarella being the highlight. I think I'd prefer fries overs tots, but I digress. The house brand candy was fine as well, not better or worse that leading brands. The place was a fairly on par AMC experience, though it didn't feel as lively as others. Probably won't be a frequent pick for us seeing as their are closer locations to us. But still alright. The ID policy is not clear at the theater or online. The policy states "be prepared to show an ID" for an R rated movie. No where does it state that one has to show the actual ID nor that the ID cannot be a picture. Daughter forgot her ID and was refused entry for an R rated movie. She had a picture of it on her phone, but this was not acceptable to Kate, the supervisor. I called and explained to Kate that my daughter is indeed 17 and not lying. I love AMC bc they have comfortable seats that recline and most are clean. They have popcorn that's fluffy and good and you add the butter. This one is huge and they serve food and alcohol also. Huge parking lot. I know everyone is addicted to smart phones and apps for entertainment but it's still great to see movies in the theater. read more

This amc is so bad I downloaded yelp to tell you how bad it is. wouldn't accept a picture of my id, why? You're gonna hold the real thing for one second and then say I'm good. I'm 19 I ordered the tickets through Apple Pay, then they couldn't refund the money because apparently Apple Pay is encrypted so we got back $ 31 (paid $36) in an AMC gift card. Ridiculous and they all just stand there like idiots. This is a movie theater not a bar let us watch the movie we paid for. 1 star establishment and hope they go bankrupt. A perfect place to beat the heat, on a comfy recliner, in the dark. It's Ghiblifest 2024 and I've never seen Princess Mononoke before. I was pretty invested until one of the characters was voiced by Billy Bob Thornton. No line at concessions, self-serve drinks and butter, clean bathrooms, pre-ordered tickets. Like many I don't go to nearly as many movies as I used to post pandemic. However, when there's a big movie out that I"m excited to see (Wicked the latest example) I find myself here. I always want to support the smaller local theaters in the area, but the ability to choose seats ahead of time at AMC makes it a good experience. Last night we were a party of 7, which would be a nightmare if we didn't get seats ahead for a movie like Wicked. The reclining seats are super comfortable too. In fact, so comfortable that 3 of our party of 7 fell asleep in them last night. No fault of Wicked though because I thought it was stellar even if an hour too long Northbrook Court itself has taken a turn for the worse so there aren't many dining options for before the movies, but my kids are usually satisfied with CPK or Di Pescara. And while I"ve never eaten the real food (outside of candy, popcorn) at the theater my kids and husband tell me it's decent. read more

There were 5 people at the concession stand with 1 person helping customers. No one was waiting and I stood there while each of them avoided eye contact. I left since my movie was starting and then couldn't even order from the app although they offer ordering on their app with delivery to your seat. Then to get upstairs and only to have it smell like water which is why I drove 20 minutes up the road and avoided my local AMC. Disgusting!!! AMC, when are you filing for bankruptcy?!? Let someone buy you and clean it up. Do better or just close up shop. read more

A great time at AMC Theatres in Northbrook. They have good deals, lower pricing on Tuesdays. The staff was friendly - been a long time since I've been in a movie theatre. All seats are powered plush leather recliners with swing tabletops and I think each theater tops out at around 60 guests. Not a lot of people, probably only 30% filled when we went. I got a large popcorn that has unlimited refills so we had our share of popcorn that night. The sound and quality of was great. I think if we wanted to, we could have had delivery of dining service direct to our seats with their app. I think cleanliness is excellent , toilets and facilities were in good upkeep. Just sparse overall on guests. read more

ATTENTION: my daughter in a group of friends entered this AMC theater, they were kicked out for simply texting their parents on low brightness and no volume. The workers failed to do anything about a woman cursing out children and multiple other people in the theater with phones on. We rented movie theater #5 for a large group of school moms and their kids to go see Minecraft. The Good Booking was made by one mom in our group and we were set! No complications on arrival, they cleaned the theater for us before and movie started right on time. No complaints. The Better Northbrook AMC was very accommodating and allowed us to book an entire theater for our group of 80 visitors. At first it didn't seem like we would be able to get one to ourselves but management took care of our party and provided a private theater on short notice. Minus 1 star Two things would have made the experience a full 5/5: 1. The concession line took a very long time. Granted it was a full theater rental - it was on a Tuesday night - ordering took 15+ minutes with a 15-20 minute wait for the non-specialty orders which wasn't ideal given we were there with a lot of children. Prices are reasonable, but quality of popcorn (stale) and nachos (stale, small portions of cheese and jalapeños) were sub par (have had better experience at other AMCs in the area so expected a tad better quality) 2. The front row seats (non handicap) did not all function properly. Some were reclined with the footrest up and could no be adjusted making it hard to get in and out of the seat. Some would not recline so made it a bit difficult to enjoy without that feature altogether. Not ideal, but not a deal breaker given the kids were in the company of their friends. Realistically a 3/5 purely on theater experience, but added a star because staff was very friendly, and the ability to give the kids a place to gather and watch with their friends was great as an outing. Great option for a large group viewing. read more

We chose to watch a movie here mostly due to the discounted price (25%) for a weekend matinee. We ordered our tickets at the front counter from an actual person (gasp - no kiosks) and she completed the transaction really quickly. The theater itself could use an update (style looks very 90s). But no complaints with the seats, they reclined properly, were comfortable and clean. I also liked that there was enough space away from the person next to you. Also the stadium seating also provides no worries about what seat you choose. The theater had the a/c pretty high, so bring a hoodie if you get cold easily. Parking is easy and there is no lines in front of concession stands. So all in all would recommend if you're truly just going there for the movie - not if you're trying to go for an all out luxury experience. read more

Came here over the holidays on Friday 12/22 and 12/29 to see The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and Godzilla Minus One. The concept of Dine-in is great but I think they need to clean up better after the fact. Both times I came the theater is a mess with popcorn and greasy butter marks all over the seats and trays. You need to have people dedicated to vacuum and wipe down seats or at least have wipes easily available to do it ourselves. I don't want to sit for 2-3 hrs in a disgusting seat. I thought the fine in part would be distracting and annoying but didn't notice them coming in and out during the movie much. Sound and picture quality is as expected so no complaints there. The theater is large and so you have to take 2 flight of stairs up stairs for theaters. There is an elevator available if you want to wait for that. I wish AMC had better pricing and rewards programs, because going to the movies has gotten so expensive. They need a revamped Stubs program. This location is attached to a mall so it can be convenient to get other errands done before or after a movie, but that also makes parking harder so just account for that time. Since Auntie Anne's is right next door, they should work. Deal with them to allow their pretzels in the theater. Way better than what you get at AMC. read more

First time here to this Dine-In AMC theater. Super expensive, for basically theater food or bad fried food. We splurged a bit and also got two large tap beers , 1 IPA and 1 lager, $41! Yikes. 2 adults and two kids and we spent $200+ for tickets, pretty bad food and 2 beers. No wonder people are choosing to stay home for movie nights. read more

We saw a great movie -The Sinners yesterday. I thought I lost my prescription Sunglasses in or under my seat. I came back today and AMC was very kind. Several employees checked their Lost and Found log and around the general area. An employee named Banks took me to the seat that I sat in and scoured the area. we went to see the movie F1. We all ordered our food and was seated and within 30 minutes they brought our food, but the woman dropped my girlfriend's burger and said she would remake it. We waited for over an hour, and I finally went and asked, the manager had no clue and found out when the woman that dropped it overheard our conversation.. 20 minutes later they brought the food they also gave us two vouchers for free movies to try and make up for it. read more

Trash. Just a lot of trash. Popcorn up ad down the front foyer. Popcorn in the bathroom. Popcorn by the soda machine. Popcorn and napkins by the bar. Popcorn in the seats and the floor of the theatre. Disgusting. Manager's response was "Sorry we got really busy and have been doing our best to clean in between the rush". He did this while sitting with two other associates behind the counter and casually chatting and staring at their phones. To me this is negligence. If you were really sorry you would get up and make a concerted effort to take out the trash - like the kid to whom I brought this up 15 minutes earlier. TBH... Its a decent but hardly fantastic theater. Basically it gets by due to proximity rather than services or seating... which is mediocre and dated amongst the nicer AMC seats that have been around for decades now. I also am not a fan of their lack of sharpness when it deals with having the AMC Premier membership as that is the point of paying for an annual subscription - to bypass long lines at the refreshments counter. read more

This was THE spot to go when I was growing up. I have so many fond memories of seeing movies here as a teenager, like The Notebook and Mean Girls. It has slowly declined, yet quite steadily and apparently, over time. It was so depressing seeing how it looks now! There is litter everywhere on a Saturday night, popcorn and wrappers, for instance, all over the floor. It didn't seem understaffed, which is good, but the cleanliness was so bad. Even the reclining seats (which seemed a bit dated and were noisy whenever they reclined, plus they don't even go all the way up if you want that function) were sticky in parts. The bathrooms weren't spotless but were a pleasant surprise in that they were well maintained. Also, the decor is ridiculously dated and sad looking. Give it a little refresh! Even a different coat of paint than pale yellowy orange would be a start. The sound quality of the main feature is good, though the previews are extremely ear-meltingly loud. I am giving it an extra star because the staff I encountered did a good job. I decided to get a little drink, and the bartender was super nice. He felt bad that he was finishing up with another customer and I told him it was no problem. He was very efficient and professional. Apparently, they now sell canned hard seltzer and various mixed drinks, among other options. Perhaps that is the lone upgrade from how it used to be ;) read more

Went to watch new Aquaman movie with the kids. As always, great comfortable, reclining seats and super expensive food lol. Traveling to the movies with 3 kids really adds up but good thing we stopped at the VPK before and had dinner so it was only popcorn and drinks for the crew. I'm really torn about this review as I feel COVID really did a number to this location. About 2 weeks ago on a Thursday night, we saw "House of Gucci" and those recliners are awesome indeed! However the location seemed desolate and I could count the number of employees on one hand. It's ashame because this theater has potential. After we purchased some popcorn and drinks, I headed out about 45 minutes later to make another purchase and no one, I mean no one was working the concessions. The kitchen was empty, bar was closed up and another patron said to me "Do you see anyone working?". Mind you the movie was at 8pm so this had to be around 8:45p-9pm. The theatre itself was somewhat clean but it's too bad the weren't any employees to be seen around 9pm. I hope it changes down the line and plenty of mall parking is available. read more

Nah. Don't waste your time and money on this place. Choose a different theater. My husband and kids went to see a movie this evening and the place was TRASHED. I called to ask why they aren't cleaning between movies (pandemic and all..) and the woman said "I mean.. I don't know what else you want from us.".. The answer is food bits and cups in trash cans prior to my movie starting. Simple as that. No theater is CLEAN of course, but this was disgusting. The 'reserved' seats were also double-booked because strangers in your lap is always fun, right? The seat issue just added to the negative experience. They ended up giving my husband 4 free tickets, but they will NOT be redeemed at this disgusting location. I purchased a ticket on Friday under the AMC app as a "Stubs Member" thinking it would alleviate the need stand in the non-existent line I thought may possibly be at the concessions stand as the Stubs program advertises the concessions would be brought to your assigned seat at the time requested. I arrived to the theater to meet with a friend who had been standing at the concession ordering food and when we got to the theater there were 6 people total attending that movie. As we sat there the previews had just started and the young man comes and gives me my friends food he ordered. I turn and pass it to my friend and he then looks, and physically gets up and goes to the concession to order more food. He returns and shortly after the movie starts. I'm sitting here still wondering how long does it take for popcorn, 2 hotdogs and a fountain drink? So I get up and I walk out to concessions. Mind you the movie has started (past all the previews but the actual movie). I come to concessions to see a group of 5-6 workers huddled in a corner while a young lady with a child is at the register with 1 of the other workers. No other customers around and I then approach a worker with short blue hair to ask about my order that was supposed to be delivered at 4:15. She looks at her watch and sees it's already around 4:40. "What did you order ?" I show her my stubs confirmation etc She walks over to the 3 paper receipts on their serving window and says "the kitchen is behind right now and we'll get your order to you soon" I immediately looked at the 3 hotdogs rotating on the machine and shook my head as I walked back to the theater. It then reminded me this is twice in a row at this theater. Weeks before I had to come out and ask about my food after the movie had started and seen workers huddled up in the corner laughing while my food sat at the window already prepped but unattended to. I was given my food and I simply walked back to my theater. So now as I'm walking back I feel my stomach tightening; that feeling you get when holding back from wanting to flip the hell out but you not about that life anymore. So I sit down and tell my friend what happened. Moments later his other order shows up that he had just gotten up to have done. Nachos with all these toppings etc and I'm sitting here smelling this like you gotta be kidding me right now. Then my food then shows up around 4:50 (or atleast that was the last time I looked at my watch). The delivery worker then says "we apologize the hot dogs took longer than we expected" I just took the bag and wanted him out of my way of the movie. So about this food: Popcorn Duo (Caramel/Cheddar): Expectation: Sweet & Salty Crunchy Goodness Reality: Cold Stale Sweet & Salty Chewables Hotdogs: Expectations: Zero - Just a filler because we planned to meet friends for dinner after the movie Reality: Room Temperature Meatsticks Fountain Drink (Gingerale): Expectations: Crisp & Refreshing Reality: Taste like it was cut heavily with tap water. Barely any carbonation it was completely trash. Overall your staff, services and management need to get their "stuff" together. I would greatly love to express how I truly feel but this is a professional platform and I'm going to just share the exact experience instead of expressing my personal feelings on it. Theater they are, dine-in they are NOT. Headed out there to watch the new Shyamalan movie. Sound, picture and seating were great. The bummer was that the kitchen closed earlier than what AMC considers their norm. What was irritating was that online ordering was still available when I pulled into the lot but after walking up to concessions a supervisor revealed that the kitchen had already closed prior to 10 pm. Per AMC, the kitchen closes some 15 minutes after their last movie begins. We were in for the second to last movie playing and shit happened I guess. I wish the folks at the box office had alerted us to this fact, we would have then made a clutch decision to hit the other (competitor) dine-in theater in Wheeling whose kitchen offerings are supplied throughout the duration of movies. We were hangry AF and disappointed the kitchen was closed, a supervisor offered nothing but the offer of whatever they had on hand. Two hot dogs and whatever else was still available in regular concessions. We opted for hot dogs between three people and an order of prepackaged nachos (yuck). There was a time when box office concessions made nachos by hand. Chips were heated and warm cheese pumped onto chips. Those days are long gone. Chips now come in a prepackaged container like something purchased at a grocery store. The cheese dip and ah, you know what.. F it. I'm not bothering with these substandard theaters any longer. Should have peeped online reviews before visiting, would have saved my stomach and monies. read more

Only one person behind the cash register and she was doing awesome while her 4 co-workers stood there not supporting. Got to our seats and their was popcorn on the seat and tray not cleaned up so it doesn't seems at through staff was cleaning up between showings either. I specifically came to this theater for the dine-in experience. The show I was seeing started at 12:10. I get there at 11:40 - 11:45 to have time to order and eat before the movie officially starts. I'm told the kitchen isn't open yet, and the "chef" will need to heat up grill. It's not open yet? For lunch?? And other movies started before mine, how are they not prepared to have lunch? I'm told it will be an hour if I want a burger. An hour?? I pass on the burger and ask if they have pretzel nuggets available. I'm told yes they do. Not the dine-in I was expecting. I'm told they will bring my pretzels to my seat. Seriously? Soda fountain only in Spanish. Could not get English to show. I had either cherry or raspberry coke. Not sure which. And the straw they gave me, was bent in half and cracked. Didn't learn this until after I was seated. Get to my seat and the noise the recliner makes. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEAK. And not just mine, many seats were squeaking very loudly. Buy a can of WD-40! Previews start and end. No pretzel bites. I kept track of the time. Server comes but goes to my neighbor. Lots of chatter. Neighbor said he ordered nachos. I ask if it's my pretzel. It is. It's 12:40. It took 55 minutes to get pretzel bites!!! Watching the movie, lots of squeaking chairs. At 1:45, my neighbor gets his nachos!!! He ordered them 2 hours ago! At 2:00, people in front of me get their food! The movie is close to ending! How is this acceptable? If I could give 0 stars I would. Never going back to this theater. So many other theaters closer to my home with better seats, atmosphere, and pretzel bites within minutes. read more

I believe this is the first time that I got reserved seating at a theater and I would have to say that it was a 2.9 experience, but I'll round up my rating to 3.0. Overall, I have to say that this is a nice mall, plenty of parking, clean and neat and not too crowded, along with visible security. So it's perfect for a family movie outing. However, my issue was this, the seats are up high so what if you don't want to recline for 2 hours? I just could not get comfortable in those leather seats while sitting upright. They need to also wipe down the seats because the leather retains scents and in my case - it seemed like the seat received a splash of cologne. I like CK Be, smelling another cologne for two hours is not too cool of an experience. I probably won't be back because I like regular seating but this is a good option for those on a date night. read more

Accessibility Update: We're Stubs members, so we always take advantage of the popcorn deals and $5 movie Tuesday when we're able. On a recent movie visit with our son, who is in a full leg cast and needs to prop his leg up, we reserved seats in the handicap section because he has a hard time getting up and down stairs with his crutches. We were completely unaware that the seats are non-reclining, and so the theater was empty enough that we were able to switch up our seats with no worries. We ended up going up fours steps to get to the very first row of the stadium seating. The floor seating was too close together and we needed more wiggle room for him to get around. After getting to our changed seats, he was able to recline and enjoy the movie. Take Note: Handicap seats do not recline! Theater seemed so much cleaner than the last time we were there, so maybe my last review was taken into consideration ;-) read more

Went here on a Friday night with my wife and daughter, very nice place! Not crowded at all even at 7 pm Friday. Great experience finally coming back to the movies! Reclining seats are super comfortable. Spacious and convenient table for eating. We pre-ordered dinner, burgers and a chicken sandwich. I had low expectations but food was surprisingly good, even my side salad was quality. The food came about 15 minutes into the movie. Grabbed a couple of draft beers in the lobby, good selection and a legit full bar. The staff were all really nice and professional, even the younger workers at the snack counters. The manager helped us check in when we forgot our phone with our ticket link. Really impressed with the whole place! read more

This place is awesome. I have been coming here since they opened in 1996. It is even nicer now since they remodeled and added full reclining seats. But its getting expensive now. Normally it is 5.49 before 12am , 9.49 before 4pm and 10.99 after 4 pm everyday. Except Friday and Saturday is now 12.99. That is more than any other theater in the area. And the food is expensive also. The popcorn is about the same. But the flatbread 8.79 at these theaters according to their website. Hawthorne 12 Lake in the Hills 12 River East 21 But it is 13.49 at Northbrook Court. So much more than everywhere else. Even other states including Washington DC are the same 8.79. So this theater is more expensive. Maybe because of the full reclining seats. But hawthorn has full reclining seats also. Or maybe because its dine in. But even then that is too much difference. That is 4.70 difference. 4.70 x 2 = 9.40. So that is more than half. read more

My 18 year old daughter went to go see a movie with her friends. The rules are Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian. These people had the audacity to ask for my daughters ID. Who in gods world brings their ID to the movie?!?! She didn't have her Id and she tried to go into the movie. The manager came over and my daughter gave me little to no explanation saying one word. Rude... She (an adult) bought the tickets I am so upset my daughter had to go through that. I really do not appreciate the staffs behavior. My daughter is completely crushed.
