I can't give this place enough stars. First let me tell you about Alex, the bartender. Alex made the best spicy margarita I have ever had. That means alot coming from someone who is super picky about lime juice and spice! This absolute gem is a treasure that we accidentally found, looking for a good cocktail. I never thought we would find a place with Russian food that was this laid back and cool. The food was phenomenal, especially the beef rib. I'm coming back and trying everything. Thank you for taking me back home. I felt like I was in my Babushka's kitchen! Can't wait to come back.

We went to check out a speakeasy bar after our appointment, this bar is next to a barber shop. Free parking right on the front, we arrived in the evening so the barber shop was already closed. However the doors were unlocked. You'll see a huge piano when you enter, push that backwards and the door will open to the speakeasy. The bar is small yet cozy, reservations recommended. They offer food and drinks, we were still full from dinner, so we just ordered drinks.

I've been wanting to check out Yana's for some time and finally had the chance this evening... What a fun and unique experience! Ring the bell to get in! I was escorted to the bar where Yana herself gave me a full history lesson on vodka and how to correctly enjoy shots! Exhale, drink, smell the food, taste it... And then inhale. My shot was accompanied by a slice of whole grain bread slathered in horseradish . From there, I moved on to the BBQ beef rib entrée and a beautiful slice of cake for dessert...witb more vodka! Definitely a place to check out!

A great atmosphere, excellent drinks and cocktails, and delicious food - that's all you need to spend an evening with friends in a good bar. Superb service and a well-designed interior.

If you're looking for somewhere to go to have delicious food and excellent cocktails, this is it. In addition, it's such a fun and exotic concept: a speakeasy, hidden behind a door you don't notice from the street. But once inside, it's luxurious, friendly, and delicious. Highly recommended, for any time of for a special occasion.

Our new go to date night spot. The atmosphere is very enjoyable and the drinks were amazing. I got the floating bridge and it has the right mixture of flavor and was so smooth. All the servers were attentive and friendly. My only suggestion down the road is maybe a jazz player or live gentle music but that would only add more to the already perfect experience.

Seriously. These guys take pride in their craft. Amazing cocktails. Great bar with a killer bar menu. Haven't tried food but it's just a 5 items or so and some caviar I'm about to try.

Great little secret place! Drinks were very well done, menu has a good selection and looks very appetizing. We stopped in for after dinner drinks and the vibe was really cool. Service was attentive, they brought us some snacks on the house, prices are very reasonable. Owner and her staff were very personable, they were kind and so appreciative and thanked us for coming. Perfect addition to this adorable little corner of Ravinia area!

What a joyous speakeasy to adorn the North Shore. Locally beloved business owner, Yana, has created this charming and beautiful new speakeasy for the North Shore that is an absolute delight to visit and enjoy spirits, cocktails, and wines. The decor is a perfect execution of a warm and laid back speakeasy with eclectic couches and bar stools to sip with friends. Yana also makes her own unique small plates with a global twist to savor (food options change often depending on what Yana wants to showcase so always exciting) alongside your libations. We loved the meatball skewers, chicken stroganoff with naan bites, Russian Cole slaw, and the lamb samsa. The mixologist, Alex, whipped up some absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared cocktails for us - Negroni and a house specialty herbaceous cocktail. The wine list is very tasteful too. Mike is amazingly warm and charming, and really makes you feel loved and welcome. Great experience to bring in the new year! Can't wait to enjoy many relaxed evening here.

The building…read morewhich was previously a church is huge and has some very interesting touches, plus there is a lot of outdoor seating overlooking a lake and also O'Hare airport in the distance. Book ahead to be outside though, otherwise you won't get a table there. And know that despite a clientele often including many families it can be a bit loud when busy and tries to be on the hip side with the music getting pumped in from speakers throughout the dining room. Wine list and cocktails are about as good as you'll find by the glass, while food has been pretty good on visits for both brunch and dinner. You can trust the seafood here, and while the crab cake didn't blow me away it was good. This is one place that I trust the crudo and poke bowls which are excellent on the raw fish options, though I wouldn't personally recommend the filet poke bowl which was a salt/umami bomb and on a recent visit there were also some issues with my wife's pork chop which had good flavor but was overcooked (she was okay with that, but if you say it's recommended medium - which I prefer - please serve it closer to medium rather than well done). Desserts are generally good, and a lot of people appear to come here for special occasions - birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc. where they bring out a free dessert with a large sparkler thing which gets attention but honestly doesn't seem entirely safe to me. Yes, that means I'm getting old but I'm not wrong... Service is excellent, ambience is very nice, and for a high volume kitchen like this they do a pretty good job with excellent ingredients at their disposal. I'll round up from 4.5 stars, in this area it's about as good as you'll find and definitely worth a visit.

It was delicious and had deep flavors coming from the cherry bordelaise. The Chicken Shawarma Rolls were also tasty with an explosion of flavor within each bite. There was nothing that I didn't like, and it was very satisfying.

The mansion was built in 1856, making it the first mansion in Lake Geneva. The estate has been completely redone but charming details were kept. There is also a separate area in the back with motel rooms. Like I said, I was there for a lil' drink. There's a bar inside the mansion (Apothecary Bar) with all kinds of medical and druggist paraphernalia, with the space being a tribute to Dr. Philip Maxwell. We figured it would have been the perfect way to top off our evening. For first-timers it might be hard trying to find the speakeasy since at first I thought you had to access it from the Busy Street and walk up three flights of stairs. Actually you just walk inside of the Embers building, find the elevator that's kind of hidden and take it to the Third floor. I thought that the little trip up felt exclusive already. Once you're at the third floor you are treated to a beautiful array of scenery. Exit to your left and you were treated to the bar and some great tables with a cozy, intimate setting. I'm not sure if it was open seating since there was a little podium right off the elevator so we just sat ourselves. Some speakeasies require a certain dress code to keep up with the times. This one thankfully was casual though many people dressed business casual. We actually loved how the staff dressed as well. I have to try their Japanese sex drink and I absolutely loved every ship that I took. The drinks are fairly price. They did have a food menu but it was mainly snacks and small plates that were a bit overpriced. If we're having a large Gathering they have a big private room next door. This place does have a lot of great events going on as well with their upcoming Valentine's Day event that looks really interesting. It does get pretty busy as well after 7:00 p.m. from our experience. Overall, I was excited and enjoyed our visit coming to the 933 speakeasy!
