This place is cool. It's not your average movie theater. This one offers fresh food to be delivered to your seat. You order at the counter and tell them your seat number. I got the pretzels with cheese sauce. Omg why was it some of the best pretzel bites I've ever had? Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Ya can't beat it. There's also a bar! So if you want beer, you can have it. I didn't go that route, I washed it all down with an Icee. it was almost a perfect night. My rating is more towards the movie experience. The film glitched at least four to six times. One time we sat in the dark for a few minutes, wondering what happened or hoping someone would walk in and explain to us what was going on. When I was a kid, I read Judy Blume's Are you there God, it's me Margaret. So when I heard it was in the theaters, I thought it was a great Mother's Day activity. My mom also read the book as a kid and was so excited for the movie. I decided to book tickets for the AMC in Poway. The experience was easy from start to finish. I booked tickets online and was able to scan them from my phone. The person checking tickets directed us to the theater. It seemed a couple people were in our seats. The theater wasn't full so we just decided to go a few rows down and sit. I always forget when I come here that the seats have a heating feature. I was a little chilly so I loved the option! Now for the movie, I absolutely loved it! I honestly expected to be bored because I barely remember the book, but I laughed so much! It was a great mom and daughter movie. The only reason I didn't put five stars is because after the movie I went to the restrooms upstairs and a lot of the stalls were out of toilet paper. Ridiculous! TrIed to find someone to talk to about the SO CALLED heated seats and everyone was in the kitchen yelling the F bomb to each other and throwing food around. We drove all of the way from east county for the heated seats. Two out of 4 of our seats DID NOT HEAT UP. Manager did not care at all without even a sorry. Easy to reserve and purchase tickets on-line ahead of time but for about $6.50 convenience fee. We arrived and the parking lot was packed but finally found a spot. We walked in, the entryway looks like old school movie theaters with stairs taking you to different levels and a bar/restaurant area for dine in food options. At the door when you walk in they scan the QR code from the text from the purchase and told us theater 3. We got in line for refreshments and being part of AMC stubs program you get some perks and free things like purchase regular popcorn but free upgrade to large and a free refill for a large. The seats were comfy recliner seats but a little narrower then their competitors seats. Went to get my refill towards the end of the movie but the concession stand had already closed. That was annoying and I didn't think they would close that early on a Saturday night. The theater was not very large, had a good picture screen, and a loud stereo system but the concession stand closing early before movies were done and bathrooms upstairs are annoying. read more

Happy over 100 years AMC!! Saw M3GAN at this nice and cozy local theater and they had a preview about AMC's 100th birthday (1920-present). The rooms are spacious and the seats...Oh my... Are an experience on their own. They fully recline with a touch of a button and they also have seat warmers with two modes- whaaaat?! Restrooms are on the second floor and elevators are available. Food can be ordered and DE-LIV-ERED to your seat! The price can climb real quick but hey, the experience can be priceless ;). read more

We just had a horrible experience at AMC Poway. My son (17 yrs) and his friends around same age have been coming to this theater by themselves throughout the summer. Today (8/13) , they decided to ask for their id and did not let them enter the theater. So we just learned about this rule now... It seems the rules are only enforced when they feel like... They WILL NOT accommodate the Deaf Community by offering Open Captioning films! I know there are closed captioning devices and they don't work well. I've reached out to AMC Headquarters a few times and asked for OPEN CAPTIONING films. Some Deaf people are living in Poway and North County area. By not offering Open Captioning films is like taking away the audio from hearing audiences. It is 2023... technology era...and we still have to BEG for Open Captioning films...!!! Open Captioning is NOT JUST for the Deaf Community. Senior Citizens who are losing hearing benefit greatly... and it helps children with their literacy skills. I've also had hearing friends telling me they like having Open Captioning because sometimes the background noises in the movies can be very loud that they miss some words, they will read Captioning to understand the spoken conversation. I've been told that there are theaters with OC that no one shows up so they stopped it. But how is that different from having empty theaters and no one showing up as well!? They still offer movies!!! He also helped with the transaction. It was great to use our points because it helped cover our dinner which was pretty good. We had the Chipotle Chicken sandwich which was delivered to our seats. Great theater! I only started seeing movies here recently so I can't comment on its prior state, but the AMC Poway's current form is wonderful. The lobby is spacious and open. Bathrooms are upstairs and were in a clean state. Staff was friendly and prompt. The highlight is the theaters themselves. Cozy but still plenty of space between rows. Seats are leather, new, and clean. They recline, but get this, are also heated (with two levels of heat nonetheless). What a time to be alive. The screen and speakers were great too. Parking is no problem in this spacious shopping plaza. It's an outstanding experience for which I'm willing to drive a bit to enjoy! read more

I went just the other day with my daughter to amc poway - whole new crew - they really did a clean up. The movie previews are...extensive, so the movies don't start on time. It's an okay theater. I wouldn't recommend buying anything at the concession stand where they will bring your order to your seat in the theater. The employees were backed up with orders and then going back and forth during the movie trying to deliver the order. Stopped in for some drinks, food, and a movie! The staff was really fun and engaging while we sat at the bar for a few drinks before our movie. The establishment was lovely and clean, including the bathroom. The food and drinks were okay. I wasn't disappointed with anything we had (mozzarella appetizer, Mac and cheese, burger) but it's expensive for what it is. That's expected since it's a movie theater. I'd eat here again but my first choice would be to get drinks/food somewhere else and then catch the movie here. Again, it's good food! I liked it. I'm very skeptical of the cleaning protocols here. We bought our tickets for dear evan hansen and because this is one of the AMCs with reserved seating, we went to find the seats we chose. There were already girls in the seats but that wasn't the issue. They had said that they think some people took their seats and pointed to an area with a bunch of seats with some food items on the tables. We decided to just let them sit there and we found other seats that were unoccupied. It wasn't until after the movie ended that we all realized that no one was sitting in those seats. Instead it seemed like the staff didn't clean up the area after the movie before ours making it seem like the seats were occupied. Not too sure how I feel about that esp with the "covid protocols" in place. On a side note, this is a dine in theatre so the seats and more squished together and less space than the normal seats. You still have the option to recline your chairs and even have heat warmers too! read more

Great theater. The staff at the concessions and bar were very helpful and super nice. The theater is clean and seats are very comfortable. They even lounge and heat up if you want. My daughter got the Cobb salad which she really liked and I got the pretzel bites, the bites and the dips were tasty. We are members of the AMC Stubs program so even better we get points towards rewards with our purchases. Great local theater and staff! read more

One of the worst theatres I've experienced since moving to San Diego. WEDNESDAY NIGHT CREW NEEDS SOME ADJUSTMENTS. I decided to take myself out this evening, enjoy my off day. I decided to come see Violent Night (8/10) Starting with the tickets and front door. I called and specifically asked about the $10 Groupon going on and they said they do accept it over the phone. I even asked is it only for specific movies so I would know and he had an attitude saying ma'am I'm sure it is for any movie if we are honoring the Groupon. (Whoever you are, learn some manners) So that was the beginning of this lovely evening. I drove all the way here and they act clueless at the door. The young man there was absolutely obnoxious and had the worse attitude. The lead was just lost, had less answers than the young man. I paid full price and went to concession. I ordered tenders, asked if they can bring the popcorn out with my food and lord behold it's the same lead from the door, again acted clueless and said I can take popcorn now or none at all. Just an inconvenience and extremely poor customer service all the way around. Not even to make up for entrance inconvenience. BUT DOESN'T STOP THERE!! LOL Went to bar and got the strawberry margarita for $14 he charged me a whole $20 because he rung me up for luxury margarita instead of my strawberry one. Tried to give me full $20 refund and recharge me true price of $16 knowing it will not automatically reload back to card. So they'd basically be double charging me instead of just refunding $4 haha. So just decided to let them keep the whole thing. Such a Good Samaritan. LOL SO ABSOLUTELY WORST FIRST EXPERIENCE. Recliners in all theaters is very nice, however it reminds me of back in the day when a tall person could sit in front of you and block part of the screen. The rows are all pretty flat so you do run that risk here. It's not a huge AMC and some of the theaters are rather small. So depending what kind of person you are this may not be the place for you. Lived in Poway for years. Never went to this theater. But when I noticed they were an AMC, had to check them out and watch Top Gun. Walking in the lobby, everything looked nice. I didn't know they had a bar and even an ICee machine. Got our popcorn and drinks. Walked to our theater. First thing I noticed was the little tables on our seats. Just like Cinepolis, but tickets were cheaper. They even had seat warmers. Screen and sound were good. Seats are spaced far enough in front that you can walk out, while the seats reclined. It's been 6 years since my last review of this theater when it was still a Digiplex (gasp!), so it's time for an update now that it has transformed from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan, aka AMC Dine In! This is a great in-between if you're looking to be comfortable, but not wanting to pay over $20 to see a movie at Angelika/Cinepolis/the Lot, etc.! This theater charges regular pricing, around $13-14 ish per ticket and even has a discounted Tuesday admission for $6 (used to be $5, smh) unless it's a holiday aka Christmas Eve/NYE, etc. You get leather, reclining seats, heat option, cup holder, swivel table, AND you get to "dine in" by grabbing food/beer/snacks from concessions & bringing them into the theater with you. Downside is there is still no stadium seating which is lame. One of my FAVORITE things about this theater is you get to reserve your seat in advance so no more rushing to the theater early to get a good seat to watch a new release! The app is a gamechanger as well. We have our tickets on there so we just pull it up & scan it with our phones. So easy! However, parking can be a bit of a pain especially on Tuesdays, so make sure to come a bit earlier. read more

I cannot recommend this theater enough! The customer service was top-notch when my girlfriend got sick at the beginning of a special event show. They immediately gave us some comp tickets that we tried to use the next day. We were told that it wouldn't work for the special event but they helped us get in and let us keep the comp tickets as well. Cannot help but compare this theater to my favorite movie theater in my hometown. The purpose of going to AMC Dine-In Poway 10 was to let my in-laws experience in-theater dining. Well, we were all still full from breakfast so no one wanted to order food except for popcorn. The popcorn was way too salty. Yup, they have in-theater dining available. Order your meal at the counter, and they will deliver it to your reserved seat inside the theater. I am used to pushing a button at our seat, then the staff coming to take our order, and deliver the food after that. Did not get that experience at Poway. Seats were great and roomy enough with a tray table too. They are power seats. So just press a button, and they will recline to the position you want. They also having heating capability as well. Felt short of my expectations, but I was probably expecting too much anyways. read more
