I've been here several times with some friends and don't mind meeting here for a quick happy hour. The service is super inconsistent. Eg, sometimes great and sometimes you have to ask for your water or drink multiple times while there aren't many people there. But they're at least consistently friendly. As for the food, well, to be fair I've only ever ordered a house salad, tots and random typical bar food. I'd say I like the tots and maybe a grilled cheese since not much on the vegetarian HH menu. I'm not coming here for a fine dining experience, just to unwind and chill for a bit with friends who love coming here. We always sit outside so I can't speak to what it's like inside other than it's nice and open. As long as my friends have fun and love the food and drinks, I'm happy to join. If you know me you know that I frequent this spot for any occasion as it is the neighborhood place to be for any sporting event. I normally sit at the bar but recently we went for Father's day brunch and got a table with our lovely server Sam. The brunch menu has gotten smaller but still some great items on it. I enjoy going for lunch and taco Tuesday the fried fish taco is my favorite one also I am a sucker for mini corn dogs so they tend to always be ordered to snack on while we are there. Shay is typically the bartender when I am there and is always super attentive and friendly and always remembering everyone's orders. Wanted to try something else for my second ever trip to Junction Bar & Grill. I ordered the Thai chicken salad, someone else had the French dip and Grilled chicken sandwich. Everyone commented that they liked their food. For the Thai chicken salad it lacked crunch.....no fried wonton chips, cucumber and the lettuce needs to be cut smaller (kept getting it on my face because the lettuce was cut large. Me and Hubby went on a Friday afternoon July 3rd so the bar was packed with regulars I'm sure. We opted to sit on the patio we wanted to try the food. The patio was nice and cool and dog friendly. Our waitress sat us right away and was very friendly. We got the potatoes skins that were quite delish and piping hot! The had some great bacon green onions and a great amount of cheddar cheese. I wanted the tequila pasta and saw that it was marked a popular item. I asked the waitress and she said it was great and the most popular so I ordered it with Blackened Salmon.My Hubby ordered the fish and chips. Everything came out looking fire! It was piping hot and didn't take long to arrive. The pasta and Salmon were perfect. I noticed there were no salt and pepper on the table so I was like ok they must know their seasoning is already good! So I too a bite of the pasta peppers onions and salmon in one bite and.... Way too salty and that's too bad because folks of a certain hue LOVE seasoning but it was seasoned properly but too salty. My husband's fish was on the opposite not seasoned enough and way too much batter. I did taste his fish and I thought it was good.The overall experience was great. First time here for a quick HH with a coworker. We ordered fried pickles, Brussels sprouts, Junction rib tips and some nachos. I had two old fashioned drinks. Whoever the bartender was that night knew the assignment! Drinks were STRONG.. just how I like them. Normally they use Makers Mark but this not it was made with Bulliet Bourbon. What would I order again, definitely the rib tips and nachos. I would skip on the pickles and Brussels. The rib tips were perfect size and meaty. The bbq sauce was decent. The Nachos are plenty to share and were really good. Customer service was good. It was pretty loud in there so I felt like I was yelling at my friend but that's to be expected at a neighborhood bar. It's walking distance from where I live so I'm pretty sure I will return. I saw a few other things on the menu I want to try. Uber Eats- I ordered the chicken lettuce wraps and an Italian chopped salad. I could have done without all the "crispy" whatever they were in the lettuce wraps. They taste like absolutely nothing. The "best happy hour" seemed promising, especially a HH all day everyday and it's less than 10 mins from my house. However, although the prices were good they have plenty of options. Two things didn't vibe with me. We ordered the taco salad and I've never had a taco salad that didn't have shredded lettuce, their lettuce was chopped how it's suppose to be in a Ceasar salad but the the flavor profile was there so it's me just being picky. The second thing is probably what won't have us coming back. I ordered their lettuce wraps and the chicken was in chucks like how you would dice it for chicken Alfredo. But I'm sorry I shouldn't have to dice the chunks of chicken, it should have come chopped way more... but again that isn't my bone to pick. There was a bug in my lettuce, because they take a head of lettuce and chop it in half and give you a the half. But it's all stuck together like I legit had to peel each layer back, I got through 2 wraps before I went to peel another piece of lettuce and I saw the bug, legs and all. Usually they peel each lettuce layer for you and wash them to avoid this. So all I thought was did they even wash my lettuce.. then when I brought it up to my server, I was told I'm sorry but nothing to rectify the situation. We had really wanted to just check this place after all the rave and articles we'd been reading. As long long Time fans of the old Villa Restaurant, a mainstay of Santa Rosa for more than 40 years, we were sorry to see it go with ask it's pretty big windows. I always wished Villa would create decks or an outdoor terrace; well the junction grill is that dream come true. The huge windows of the villa became gorgeous open door areas. It's got three lovely outdoor areas, actually; one deck for diners, adjoining a best seat in the house casual veranda. Then there's the other large outdoor area which includes a large play area for children (climbable wooden pirate ship with side), a large stage for live music Tuesday nights, and place tables for friends n family including two large fire pit areas. We got a couple beers and the most delicious pizza called the Hilltopper. It was so good i forgot a pic but got pics of everything else, lol! Really a lovely place. We came in to watch the Men's Basketball Championship without checking to see what gluten free options there were. We found a fun sports bar atmosphere for sure! Our server, Gina, was so patient and checked multiple options! At one point the chef, Luis, came out to make sure we had our questions answered. He was absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond. We were clarifying about the chips and salsa to see if it was a cross contamination issue and found out they are made in house with flour tortillas. As they were going to make some sweet potato fries as one of the GF options, we found out they had cut up some corn tortillas and specially made some corn tortilla chips for my wife! I guess they didn't want our money or our business!! My mom and I decided to stop there for lunch today, it was our first time there and we had looked at their menu ahead of time and it looked pretty good. We got there around 1:30 so it wasn't very busy and we walked in and waited in the front to be seated (as the sign stated). The one and only person we saw working was the bartender, there were no other employees walking around, no servers or waiters in sight. The bartender looked over at us once but never acknowledged us nor did she try to get someone to seat us. We literally stood there for 10+ minutes without a single person greeting us or even acknowledging that we were there! We turned around and walked out and we won't be returning. That is absolutely absurd not to have anyone around to seat customers or at least say "hey I'll be right with you". Definitely a waste of our time! read more

It's nice to have a neighborhood bar that has special deals for every day of the week. I came here for Taco Tuesday with some friends. Tacos were $1 off the regular menu and margaritas were $5 each (huge glass too). I ordered the grilled shrimp and battered fish tacos on corn tortillas. I didn't realize they were topped with sour cream (I don't like sour cream), so I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have had there been no sour cream. I would have appreciated a bit more shredded cabbage. There were only a few thin slices, which I thought was not enough in comparison to the size of the taco. I wasn't a fan of the grated cheddar cheese on top either. Flavor wise, it was good and I especially liked the habanero sauce that gave it a nice kick! It was a nice portion and 2 tacos filled me up. I'll have to come back and try other menu items. This is a sports bar, so I'm sure it's lots of fun to come here when there's a game. read more

Came on a Wednesday evening. Heard about these wings and just had to try. Meh. They were alright. I came for their wing Wednesday which means wings are 99 cents each. There is 6 flavors to choose from - Buffalo, BBQ, Lemon Pepper, Sweet Red Chili, Honey Sriracha, or Garlic Parm In order to have multiple flavors, you have to order at least four. So naturally I ordered 20 and got five flavors. The Sweet Red Chili was my favorite. It had the most sauce and flavor. The Buffalo felt like they tossed it and had it under the heat lamp for a while. No wet wipes are necessary. Also got a Caesar salad which was the star of the show. Not because it was great but because the wings just weren't that good. Even tho I give this a 2 star, I do think it is worth coming back to. There are daily deals and a ton of TVs with sports on in the inside. It was spacious inside and doesn't feel like you're sitting on top of one another. The staff were all really great. And the drinks I had were really well made. I had their key lime martini and their version of a creamsicle mixed drink. Both really tasty. Feels like a good spot to make it your local bar or for Happy Hour after work. I'm interested in trying their Burger and Beer Mondays. I sat on the patio with my dog. So it's a dog friendly spot. There are parking spots available but it's in a plaza with a Starbucks and other businesses so at times it can be crowded. read more

Just stopped in for another visit after a disappointing first try. The food remains good, and a decent value for the price. Someone else mentioned the mozzarella sticks were microwaved grocery store caliber; I would say that's half true. They were fried, but not fantastic. Probably the one thing I'd skip until it's improved. Service was very much improved. Hopefully this will hold true consistently now. Our last visit was during an early Friday evening. This visit was a Saturday at 5PM. We were seated promptly and everything went smoothly. Noise level was better, with a focus on ambient music instead of games blaring. They have a nice patio but it was cold and I didn't see any heaters. It happened to be fish and chips Friday so I had to get that. My husband ordered the meatball appetizer off the $10 section of the Happy Hour menu. The fish and chips were absolutely delicious. The fish was nice and firm with no silver areas. It was crispy and served piping hot. The fries were good too. My husband enjoyed his meatballs. They are home made and huge. If you're hungry, it may not be enough food but he finished my fish and chips too. Our server was nice and there were plenty of tv's inside for watching sports. The weekend brunch menu offers a good variety of breakfast favorites from Ribeye steak and eggs to chicken/waffles. The service here was very friendly and welcoming. They kept our coffee and tea topped off which was very nice. The chicken fried steak plate was very good and satisfying. It was cooked to perfection. We absolutely loved it. The chilaquiles was also good but the meat was just a tad salty but still delicious. We didn't get a cocktail today, but drinks here looked great. We will try some cocktails next time. Junction is a new bar & grill that has opened in The Hub complex of Scripps Ranch just east of I-15. They have locations in El Cajon and Santee too. The inside was spacious and modern. When I walked in, the staff was busy, and no one was at the hostess stand. There wasn't a sign indicating to please wait to be seated so I took a take-out menu from the stand and sat at an empty high top table. Several minutes later, a waitress came by, apologized, and took my order. Happy hour appetizers were listed along the left edge of one menu page. The appetizer sections were priced at $6, $8, and $10 and were available all day. From the $10 group, I picked the Junction Rib Tips which were smoked rib tips doused with sweet BBQ sauce and served with french fries. Some of the pieces were boneless which was nice. The meat was very tender, and I ended up liking this more than my entree. Prime rib is not typically found at such an establishment, but the menu had two cuts available (Petite - 14 oz, Hearty - 16 oz). Each was served with a choice of soup or salad (my pick) along with a baked potato and seasonal veggies. I chose the smaller cut with a medium rare degree of doneness. When the plate was brought to my table, I noticed the prime rib was not soaked in au jus, and none was provided on the side. The meat was lukewarm and not as tender as I had expected. The prices were reasonable, especially the appetizers. My entree was more miss than hit, but the rib tips were above average quality. The service was okay after the initial awkwardness of not being greeted until after I had sat at a table. I gave my dining experience at Junction a 3.5 star rating. read more
