My friend is a Cutwater LOVER and has been recommending this place forever. I had been here forever ago for company work party, but had not experienced a regular dining experience here. The restaurant was so spacious and would be great to come with a group. There was a lot of parking available which is always a plus so I will definitely be back again. Such great Happy Hour deals here! We got the prawn skewers and cacio fries off of the Happy Hour menu, and the Thai calamari to share. Rye was amazing in checking in on us and asking us how everything was. I had gotten the Moscow Mule, which I was saying although good, I just wasn't a total vodka gal. Rye was able to whip up a very delicious spicy margarita which really hit the spot! Overall, staff was so nice (shoutout Rye again!), food was so yummy, and the cocktails are all great bang for your buck.

We arrived Saturday around 12:30pm with no reservation and were seated within 5 min! They did advise we would only have the table until 3 which was no problem. The inside is like a tiki bar, very open and spacious. Tried their current tiki menu and everything was refreshing! Their tiki mocktail was just ok.

To get the negativity out of the way, parking can be pretty tough. It's a small parking lot and the street parking fills up quick. If you don't have a reservation, you're definitely going to be waiting a while, unless you find a seat at the bar, which thankfully we did. But regardless of that these were some of the best drinks and food we've had! We still are talking about how incredible these fries were. The staff is all incredibly friendly and helpful. They even gave some free samples of the drinks while we waited! Super lively environment, lots of great energy all around. Definitely will come back next time, with a reservation!

Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Price: 4/5 Parking: 5/5 Came by on a Monday midday with a reservation. Molly and Eddie were the primary team members to take care of us. The whole team was so friendly with great recommendations. I'm always hesitant to stop by flagship spaces for popular brands, but Cutwater was phenomenal! I am so happy I made it by, and I cannot wait to stop in again down the road when I'm in town!

What a vibe! The design outside caught our eye immediately, and the inside was just as beautiful. We grabbed a table and dove into a few tiki drinks, the presentation alone was worth it, especially the one served in a flamingo glass. Absolutely adorable. Food-wise, we tried the fish and chips and it did not disappoint. We also did the distillery tour, which was packed with info, genuinely learned things about their process I had no clue about. It wrapped up with a tasting of their spirits, and we liked it enough to take a couple of their finer bottles home with us. Beautiful space, great drinks, and a tour that actually delivers. We'll be back next time we're in San Diego, even if it's just for a quick lunch and a drink.

Food 5/10 Drinks 8/10 Service 6/10 Ambiance 7/10 Went here for their lunch special which is a burger and a Cutwater can which is a great deal of $18. When I got the burger, unfortunately it's very disappointed. I was extremely dry and it was extremely greasy where the bun fell apart on the bottom. It's not have much flavor in the meat, so unfortunately was not impressed with this whatsoever. The drinks are always good, especially the can cocktails. You know exactly what you're getting. The service was low average they went missing a lot yet can't control everything. We were sitting on the patio, which had a nice ambience.

Both the fish and fries were cooked perfectly.

Met a vendor here for lunch today. Place was super crowded today. I ordered the Cajun Pasta and my friend ordered a salad. Both looked really good. I enjoyed the pasta. I also had a Pina Colada. Restaurant is nice, super clean and organized. Service at the bar was excellent. Parking lot was jammed up so I parked a few blocks away.

Have you met Riell at Cutwater Distillery? If not, you definitely should! He makes amazing drinks, really knows his mixology, and brings such a creative personality and great sense of humor to the bar. This was our 4th visit to Cutwater, and while we unfortunately didn't have the best experience with service on one of our previous visits, we decided to give it another try by sitting at the bar. We're so glad we did! Riell completely changed the experience for us. He made us feel welcome, listened to what we liked, and created some fantastic drinks. His knowledge and creativity really stood out, and we genuinely enjoyed hanging out at the bar. We'll definitely be back, and next time we're bringing some friends with us! Cheers to Riell for making our visit such a fun one!

Came here for a work happy hour but I didn't stay long. This place has great ambience and drinks were good. I would definitely come back to try other things on the menu.

Food was pretty good. Simple but with flavor. I'm not much of a seltzer person but I really enjoyed the drinks. Service was great and the employees were very friendly and helpful with suggestions. We went during lunch and it was such a chill vibe

Wait time: 10/10 (none on a Sunday) Parkin: 10 plenty of street parking and their own lot Vibes: cute decor and nice music. Food: Flights on flights on flights! Strawberry salad was good...but the French toast was the star! Service: All servers were attentive....not too much not too little. Great place for a group celebration. Worth the drive. Oh! And the napkins never change the napkins

Great brewery/restaurant. Food is decent here with some fusion variety, but the drinks are the star of course. Also their music selection. I was loving the 90s 2000s playlist that made me want to sing a long to every song. Made some friends with the table next to us. The location is in an industrial area. Very spacious. Wish I took pictures of the drinks and food but I was pretty buzzed and having a good time. They also do tours for the brewery which was highly recommended. Guess I'll have to come back.

Ask the Community - Cutwater Spirits

Do you have to be 21 and older?

No. But will be required to show ID if ordering a drink. I've seen kids here too

Are there many gluten free food options? I'm celiac :(

Their menu changes seasonally but there's always some things that are listed as Gluten free. Before you order I suggest you check with your server because sometimes they can modify your food choice if they know before hand.…

Are we required to have a server here or can we sit at a table and order at the counter?

You can sit at the bar and order from there.

If there is a little special spring menu can someone post it? Like how they have the winter lodge, Halloween menu, st Patrick's little menu of additional things for the season unless spring seasonal things are on the main menu. Would be great

I think the easiest thing to do is follow their Instagram site. Cutwatertastingroom and you'll always be in the know on menu changes, cocktails & special events hosted.

I went to the Cutwater website and tried to make a reservation for four. I got redirected to Yelp, but I do not see where I can make a reservation. Am I missing something?

I ran into the same issue a few weeks back, and called the tasting room. I was told that they were halting reservations due to holiday parties, etc. until January 1. I'd recommend calling them to see if they offer any reservations, or visit as a…

Anyone know why I can't make a reservation for two people? It only lets me do three or more

They take reservation of 2 over the phone but just 3+ online! I also had this problem and spoke to the GM there to get that confirmed. Never had a problem getting a reservation there though. Love Cutwater

Can you sit at the bar and have drinks and appetizers without a reservation?

Yes. We didn't want to wait for a table once and sat at the bar. You can even order food. Not just appetizers.

Is there a kids menu for dinner?

I don't remember seeing a kids menu when I was there last.

    Do you have high chairs?

Yes they do- you have to ask a server for them.

Will there be a holiday/Christmas menu for food and/or drinks for December? If yes, when?

I know they'll be a host of new Holiday Cocktails but it hasn't been confirmed if the menu will be changed. As far as I'm aware the menu changes seasonally and I believe that was October?

Is there a way to make a reservation. I've been trying to call yet no one answered the call ☹️?

I've never had success doing it on the telephone, but you can do it online at their website. On the website take a look at the sections called visiting the tasting room and you will see all the options available.

    Do you allow dogs?

I don't think so I didn't see any outside patio where a dog could lay or say you might want to reach out to the restaurant to verify have a great rest of your week

Is this a family friendly place for Sunday brunch or 21 and up only?

    We are absolutely family friendly!

Is brunch only served on Sunday? Or also Saturday?

    Sunday all day!

Is the patio dog friendly? I have seen multiple mixed answers. Thank you!

Yes! We took our dog there and they were super kind and welcoming.

Are you guys still opened? I've been trying to call for several days so I'm just wondering if you're still opened.

They're open, have been for quite a while. Just had lunch there yesterday.

How much does the guided tour cost?

Hi there! The guided tasting experience ranges from $15-25 depending on which flight you choose. Before the guided tasting we offer a very brief behind-the-scenes look at the distillery at no extra cost.

    Do they have happy hour?

    3:30pm-6:00pm || Sunday-Thursday

Are you currently doing tasting tours?

Yes, we are! Call in or stop in to book your guided tasting experience. They run on the hour from 12-7 Wed-Sat and 12-4 on Sundays.

    Are outdoor seating dog-friendly?

Yes, we allow dogs on our outdoor patio only!

My friend and I made a final brewery stop at Duck Foot Brewing before heading home. If you knew anything about me, you knew my love for beer had no boundaries and wherever I may be I was always searching for any possible breweries to sneak into and try. Would I quack with glee after I set foot in this brewery or duck out the back never to return!? QUICK BIO Founded in 2015 by Matt Delvecchio and Brett Goldstock, their beers were gluten-reduced due to Matt's celiac disease; frankly, he wanted to be able to drink beer and found a way to do it without harming himself! "Duck Foot" was a snowboarding term if you rode with your toes angled away from each other, then you could switch to your right or left foot while going down the slopes. It was a deft way of maneuvering, but also made you look kinda silly - which summed up the staff pretty well. All of this zaniness contributed to the funny beer names and quirky packaging artwork.
