Once I learned that the Cutwater Distillery was in San Diego, it was put on my to try list. So glad I got to stop by and try a can of the Research and Development can of the Espresso Martini Black. The food is good and the service is awesome. The vibe is very chill and inviting. Warning the wait time can be long towards the end of happy hour. But if there is a seat at the bar take it,

Food was pretty good. Simple but with flavor. I'm not much of a seltzer person but I really enjoyed the drinks. Service was great and the employees were very friendly and helpful with suggestions. We went during lunch and it was such a chill vibe

Wait time: 10/10 (none on a Sunday) Parkin: 10 plenty of street parking and their own lot Vibes: cute decor and nice music. Food: Flights on flights on flights! Strawberry salad was good...but the French toast was the star! Service: All servers were attentive....not too much not too little. Great place for a group celebration. Worth the drive. Oh! And the napkins never change the napkins

I really wanted to love the tequila tasting experience at Cutwater Spirits because overall we actually had a good time. I took a much-needed night to focus on enjoying myself and the atmosphere did not disappoint. However, the tequila tasting tour itself felt very underwhelming for the price. For a $50 tasting, I expected an actual tasting experience of the Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo categories. Instead, we were given such tiny pours that we were told to split them between tasting the tequila by itself and then again with the fruit/chocolate pairing. It honestly felt ridiculous and nowhere near enough to properly experience each tequila. Our tour guide Zion was nice, but the tasting portion itself felt very cheap for what was paid. The ONLY reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1 is because Molly and Ciara completely turned the experience around. They were sweet, attentive, accommodating, and genuinely made us feel welcomed. Those beautiful ladies were absolutely the highlight of the visit. I'd definitely come back for the atmosphere and service, but I truly hope Cutwater improves the tequila tasting portions because the current setup does not feel worth $50.

This was my second visit, and the service, atmosphere, and food were all great once again. We came during their happy hour (Monday-Friday from 3pm-6pm), and I have to say they have a really solid selection to choose from at a great price. We ordered the 3 sliders, prawn skewers, and the chicken meatballs -- which are definitely my recommendation. Everything was flavorful and well presented. From the moment we walked in, the bartenders were welcoming and attentive, checking in on us throughout our visit without being overbearing. They're currently in their tequila season, and you can tell they put a lot of effort into the presentation and creativity of their drinks. They really know how to catch a customer's attention. I had to try the pickle margarita, and as a pickle fanatic, this did not disappoint. The Cutwater lime margarita mixed with the pickle brine balanced perfectly -- enough pickle flavor to enjoy without overpowering the margarita itself. The only 2 small critiques I have is with the chicken meatballs, but only because they were so good. I wish there had been just a little more of the hot honey sauce because paired with the potato chips, it would've made the combination even more fire. It does have a bit of spice to it, but not in an unbearable way. Also, I put an order of the churro bites from their tequila season menu, and I guess our bartender had forgotten to put the order in--however, they did make it up by offering a can (which was the espresso martini black this was GOOD, another recommendation please go ahead and ask your bartender for the RND espresso black) Other than that, no complaints at all. The food came out in a fair amount of time, especially considering we visited around 3pm on a Thursday. I can't speak for busier rush times, but during our visit everything flowed smoothly. Overall, another great experience at Cutwater. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, and consistently good service.

If you can't handle a Cutwater then honestly we probably can't be friends. I already love Cutwater canned cocktails so finding out their distillery is actually here in San Diego immediately made me want to go. I came with a group of friends mainly for drinks but the food sounded surprisingly good too so we ended up ordering both. First off this place is BEAUTIFUL. It has that bar vibe but still feels really nice and put together like a restaurant. Parking was rough because it was super busy but while waiting for a table we walked around looking at the merch and canned cocktails they sell there. Even the restroom was nice. Everything just felt really well designed. Right now they're doing a tequila season menu so we started with the Mexican Candy Shot. So good. It comes in this cute little clay cup with chamoy and tajin and honestly was one of my favorite things we tried. I also got the frozen mango margarita and loved it. It comes in a mango margarita Cutwater can with chamoy and tajin on the rim plus one of those chamoy candy straws. Super cute and actually really good too. The biggest surprise though was the arroz con leche drink. Someone else ordered it and I immediately wished I got one too. It literally tastes like arroz con leche but with tequila and somehow works perfectly. The presentation was also gorgeous. For food, the pork bulgogi fries were probably my favorite thing we ate. Huge portion with lots of meat, fries, cheese, and chives underneath that made everything taste even better. The buffalo wings were solid too. The only thing we didn't really love was the Jamaican jerk chicken flatbread. It sounded amazing on the menu but ended up being kind of dry and underwhelming. You could taste the rum barbecue sauce and seasoning but it just needed something more. Overall though this was such a fun spot. Workers were super friendly and even let us place a really last minute food order after last call which we appreciated. I'd definitely come back for drinks and happy hour with friends.

Its only a 4star because we did not have a chance to have dinner. I will be back because all the food looked really good. We came for the tour and tasting. Before the tour we did check out the little retail section, signature drinks, and the flatbread pizza at the bar. The drinks are delicious and I was surprised about the straight liquor they also make. The tour was fun and informative and its smaller than I thought. The tasting was all good the tour guide was very knowledgeable and also showed us the new flavors they are release next!! Side not the expresso martini + the white russian mixed together has me in a headlock...lol...overall I do recommend if you visit San Deigo stop by CutWater!!!

Came here for the first time with a group for a bday party. Long and short of it: drinks and setup are easily 5/5. Food and the vibe were a 3/5. Let's start with those drinks. We were a big group and many of us ordered on the regular menu and their specialty menu. Highly recommend their specialty menu! For the time we went it was Latin themed and they had specialty mugs and shot glasses you can take home. Each presentation for every drink was STUNNING. Special shoutouts to the: frozen margarita, la Reina, and fruta un vase. Plenty of people had their food. Wings, flatbreads, fries, burgers. Their fries were the only good ones in my opinion. Many places to sit inside and outside. Lots of TVs as well to watch a game. They also have a store where you can buy merch and alcohol. All in all really well crafted and beautiful interior. Service was fantastic! Shout out to Abby who was our server. She made sure we all had a great time. LOVED how they do reservations. Highly recommend. Parking was super easy as there's a lot they had. The only reason for the non 5 star? The vibe. The vibe was a 2 or a 3 but not necessarily because of the location but for the crowd and some of their behavior. I'm no prude but some stuff was off putting such as people throwing up in the parking lot bushes and a separate group smoking weed. May not want to bring the kiddos.

I love that they have so many drinks to choose from, they make all of their alcohol in house which makes all your drinks taste fresh. I wish they had a larger menu to choose from, I order the chicken wings and they were crispy but big, I am not a fan of huge wings. The calamari needed some seasoning but with the sauce they had with it made it good. The jerk chicken pizza wasn't spicy but it was ok. I do appreciate that they also make their food with alcohol. Taylor was our waitress and she was perfect! I would ask for Taylor again, she took the time to explain the menu with it being everyone's first time. The restaurant is so beautiful and has outdoor seating. And many different cutwater options.

You know I had to come back for their tequila season release on Thursday, April 16th, and it was well worth it! They had a live band playing, which made the whole atmosphere even better, and they were offering samples of their Spicy Mango Margarita and one of their tequila cocktails, "La Reina." I tried the churros and they were absolutely amazing--perfectly crispy on the outside and warm, soft, and fluffy on the inside, served with a side of chocolate sauce that made them even better. I also tried the tequila flight, which unfortunately wasn't my favorite in terms of flavor, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. I asked the bartender, Sierra, to surprise me with something refreshing, and she absolutely delivered. It was so good I drank it before I could even take a picture! I also have to give a special shoutout to my favorite bartenders: Haley, Lolo, Ciera, and Savannah. They always make sure the drinks are delicious and that I have a great time at the bar. One of my favorite things is letting them freestyle a custom drink, and every single time they create something I love. Cutwater will continue to be my go-to spot for good food, great drinks, and chill, fun vibes!!

The cutwater distillery was not what I expected and in a very unsuspecting area, but it was good and I'll be returning! The service was great and the food was really good too. The potato sourdough bread with coconut one butter really knocked my socks off, and the with the house made buffalo were delicious...a bit disappointing the ranch was not house made too. The pork belly flat bread was also really yummy and fresh. I thought I'd see cutwaters on tap, and lots of exclusive test flavors, but to my dismay we were told that the QR code with the test flavors had not been updated and there was only one available of the ones listed. Hopefully the next time I return, there will be some fun flavors to try!

I love how modern this place feels and looks. Everything is spacious and open and it had a very chill relaxing vibe on Sunday brunch time. The wait staff were all friendly and checked on us multiple times. The drinks were all so tasty and so strong. I definitely needed food with the drink. The chilaquiles were not exactly what I was hoping for. I was expecting a more transitional chilaquiles but these were very creamy. It was good but not what I was looking for. I will happily come back here to check out their other drinks and food.

Ask the Community - Cutwater Spirits

Do you have to be 21 and older?

No. But will be required to show ID if ordering a drink. I've seen kids here too

Are there many gluten free food options? I'm celiac :(

Their menu changes seasonally but there's always some things that are listed as Gluten free. Before you order I suggest you check with your server because sometimes they can modify your food choice if they know before hand.…

Are we required to have a server here or can we sit at a table and order at the counter?

You can sit at the bar and order from there.

If there is a little special spring menu can someone post it? Like how they have the winter lodge, Halloween menu, st Patrick's little menu of additional things for the season unless spring seasonal things are on the main menu. Would be great

I think the easiest thing to do is follow their Instagram site. Cutwatertastingroom and you'll always be in the know on menu changes, cocktails & special events hosted.

I went to the Cutwater website and tried to make a reservation for four. I got redirected to Yelp, but I do not see where I can make a reservation. Am I missing something?

I ran into the same issue a few weeks back, and called the tasting room. I was told that they were halting reservations due to holiday parties, etc. until January 1. I'd recommend calling them to see if they offer any reservations, or visit as a…

Anyone know why I can't make a reservation for two people? It only lets me do three or more

They take reservation of 2 over the phone but just 3+ online! I also had this problem and spoke to the GM there to get that confirmed. Never had a problem getting a reservation there though. Love Cutwater

Can you sit at the bar and have drinks and appetizers without a reservation?

Yes. We didn't want to wait for a table once and sat at the bar. You can even order food. Not just appetizers.

Is there a kids menu for dinner?

I don't remember seeing a kids menu when I was there last.

    Do you have high chairs?

Yes they do- you have to ask a server for them.

Will there be a holiday/Christmas menu for food and/or drinks for December? If yes, when?

I know they'll be a host of new Holiday Cocktails but it hasn't been confirmed if the menu will be changed. As far as I'm aware the menu changes seasonally and I believe that was October?

Is there a way to make a reservation. I've been trying to call yet no one answered the call ☹️?

I've never had success doing it on the telephone, but you can do it online at their website. On the website take a look at the sections called visiting the tasting room and you will see all the options available.

    Do you allow dogs?

I don't think so I didn't see any outside patio where a dog could lay or say you might want to reach out to the restaurant to verify have a great rest of your week

Is this a family friendly place for Sunday brunch or 21 and up only?

    We are absolutely family friendly!

Is brunch only served on Sunday? Or also Saturday?

    Sunday all day!

Is the patio dog friendly? I have seen multiple mixed answers. Thank you!

Yes! We took our dog there and they were super kind and welcoming.

Are you guys still opened? I've been trying to call for several days so I'm just wondering if you're still opened.

They're open, have been for quite a while. Just had lunch there yesterday.

How much does the guided tour cost?

Hi there! The guided tasting experience ranges from $15-25 depending on which flight you choose. Before the guided tasting we offer a very brief behind-the-scenes look at the distillery at no extra cost.

    Do they have happy hour?

    3:30pm-6:00pm || Sunday-Thursday

Are you currently doing tasting tours?

Yes, we are! Call in or stop in to book your guided tasting experience. They run on the hour from 12-7 Wed-Sat and 12-4 on Sundays.

    Are outdoor seating dog-friendly?

Yes, we allow dogs on our outdoor patio only!

My husband and I just finished our dinner at Teleferic Barcelona when I suggested we give Raised by Wolves another try - as we had about an hour before picking up the kids. For a Saturday, I was pleasantly surprised that as walk-ups we only had to wait a few minutes before we were seated at the bar inside. While we waited, we enjoyed perusing their bottle selections for purchase and I'm happy to say that playing music slightly louder in the waiting/market area helped dull the sounds from the inside bar. It helps create more of a 'moment' when you sit at the fireplace and slowly turn inside. This time we were seated right at the bar, which was perfect for us. Chuck was our bartender and 10/10 on the cocktails he made. This time, I went with their Tiki Room and my husband an off-menu Boulevardier (which I have to say I'm impressed he knew what that was because even I didn't, lol). Both drinks were perfectly crafted and enjoyed by both of us. We only had a moment for just one drink this time, but I have to say our experience was so much better than our first (perhaps a fluke of an evening). The staff were all welcoming and knowledgable, other guests were dressed well, and the ambiance lent itself to the vibe we were looking for. After doing some homework, I made the connection that Raised By Wolves was part of the hospitality group that also owns Lafayette Hotel, The Baby Grand, Ironside, etc...all locations my husband and I absolutely adore. Happy to support such amazing places around San Diego and I look forward to more!

ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A spacious layout https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=57KdYg48K-IMOHEH0rg9IQ with the bar/order counter directly in front of you when you entered, a highly-visible tap menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=issos1QjwbLqHYCYJAl2pA on the wall behind the bar, many communal benches and tall tables inside and on the front patio, brewing tanks in the background, games https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=D78FJjUsG_FjQX_bUZvHGw in a corner, and on this particular night there was a well-attended astronomy presentation https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=xaEnKPrdF3diRb_uOqYBAg which was a first for me. Plenty of natural lighting entered through the large front windows and doors while an assortment of electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several TVs throughout while I couldn't recall any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=rOS9_YXUfQmMuzGaZqEnYw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL We had a chilling time at Duck Foot Brewing and would plan another visit to try more of the over 15 beers on tap as well as wine and slushies. The two beers I had were very tasty and easygoing, the prices were comparable, and the service was straightforward. Furry family members were allowed! They also had happy hour specials and nightly entertainment such as trivia, music, and more. Ample free parking was always a major plus. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $60.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

(Dined/Drank 06/10/26 WE @ 5:00pm): Gravity kept me from elevating to new heights at this brewery!…read more A friend recommended Gravity Heights' Sorrento Valley location to get caught with each other, but she ended up bailing at the last minute due to work. If you knew me, I always searched for breweries wherever I may be, so I was stoked to visit a brewery new to me. Founded in early 2019 by Arturo Kassel (Whisknladle CEO) and Skip Virgilio (AleSmith co-founder) by a chance encounter, Kassel wanted to move away from typical industrial taprooms and create a space with elevated food and a bright, coastal aesthetic that appealed to the tech-heavy workforce in the area. In 2024, they have since opened a second location in nearby Mission Valley. To what heights did gravity allow me to enjoy this brewery!? PURCHASE(S) Gravity Heights Sandbar Golden Ale Blonde Beer 5.2% ABV 16floz Draft ($8.00 HH): Bright golden amber color, citrusy malty piney aroma, light body, citrusy malty piney flavor, crisp refreshing finish, and citrusy malty slight bitter aftertaste. Shrimp Aguachile ($11.00 HH): A big portion of mixed avocado, cilantro, red onion, and shrimp with homemade tortilla chips, this ceviche-like dish was fresh, hearty, and a meal on its own - amazing! Gravity Heights June Gloom Hazy NEIPA Beer 7.0% ABV 16floz Draft ($8.00 HH): Bright hazy amber color, citrus hoppy tropical aroma, light body, citrus hoppy tropical flavor, juicy finish, and citrus hoppy tropical aftertaste. Paloma Cocktail ($10.00 HH): Crafted with Real Del Valle blanco tequila, grapefruit and lime juices, simple syrup, and soda water, this was refreshing and went down way too quickly. Gravity Heights Haulin' Oats Oatmeal Stout Beer 5.3% ABV 16floz Draft ($8.00 HH): Dark brown color, chocolate coffee roasty aroma, heavy body, beany coffee roasty flavor, drying finish, and beany roasty slight bitter aftertaste. 12" Diablo Pizza 6pc ($23.00): Made with tomato sauce, fontina and mozzarella cheeses, spicy calabrese, jalapenos, pickled fresnos, and chili flakes on a somewhat thin crispy crunchy slightly charred crust, this made my mouth tingle from the first bite and i loved it! Kind of pricey, though. Logo Beer Pint Glass ($10.00): I needed some local brewery glassware for the new place, so this seemed like as good a time as any. SERVICE Warmly greeted by two gentlemen behind the bar as I parked my ass on a barstool, I was given menus and a rundown of their happy hour which was going on (yes!). I quickly took advantage of the happy hour specials before they ended. My initial drink arrived immediately while everything else was received just as quickly. The place was packed, so I was amazed by the attentive service (I was frequently checked on as empties were removed). Once I was done, there was no pressure to vacate my stool - outstanding! PARKING (FREE): Although they had their own decent-sized lot, it was full, so thankfully I found a spot on the nearby street (carefully read all posted street signs; I had to in this case!) - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A clean modern open spacious layout with plenty of both standard interior seating and exterior covered patio seating with a large central well-appointed bar. Minimal to no promotional items were present. This place was impressive! Plenty of natural lighting in this quasi-exposed floorplan while an assortment of electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several muted TVs mainly at the bar and throughout while classic rock & roll music played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I had a wonderful time at Sorrento valley's Gravity Heights and would visit again... or at least the Mission Valley location which was closer to me. They had plenty of beers on tap, the food was tasty, the prices were relatively comparable, the food menu was plentiful, and the service was great. Unsure if furry family members were allowed. Daily happy hour specials (3pm-6pm) and almost certain nightly entertainment such as trivia, music, and more was available. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $84.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS
