    Pickle Margarita...yummmm

I really wanted to love the tequila tasting experience at Cutwater Spirits because overall we actually had a good time. I took a much-needed night to focus on enjoying myself and the atmosphere did not disappoint. However, the tequila tasting tour itself felt very underwhelming for the price. For a $50 tasting, I expected an actual tasting experience of the Blanco, Reposado, and Añejo categories. Instead, we were given such tiny pours that we were told to split them between tasting the tequila by itself and then again with the fruit/chocolate pairing. It honestly felt ridiculous and nowhere near enough to properly experience each tequila. Our tour guide Zion was nice, but the tasting portion itself felt very cheap for what was paid. The ONLY reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1 is because Molly and Ciara completely turned the experience around. They were sweet, attentive, accommodating, and genuinely made us feel welcomed. Those beautiful ladies were absolutely the highlight of the visit. I'd definitely come back for the atmosphere and service, but I truly hope Cutwater improves the tequila tasting portions because the current setup does not feel worth $50.

This was my second visit, and the service, atmosphere, and food were all great once again. We came during their happy hour (Monday-Friday from 3pm-6pm), and I have to say they have a really solid selection to choose from at a great price. We ordered the 3 sliders, prawn skewers, and the chicken meatballs -- which are definitely my recommendation. Everything was flavorful and well presented. From the moment we walked in, the bartenders were welcoming and attentive, checking in on us throughout our visit without being overbearing. They're currently in their tequila season, and you can tell they put a lot of effort into the presentation and creativity of their drinks. They really know how to catch a customer's attention. I had to try the pickle margarita, and as a pickle fanatic, this did not disappoint. The Cutwater lime margarita mixed with the pickle brine balanced perfectly -- enough pickle flavor to enjoy without overpowering the margarita itself. The only 2 small critiques I have is with the chicken meatballs, but only because they were so good. I wish there had been just a little more of the hot honey sauce because paired with the potato chips, it would've made the combination even more fire. It does have a bit of spice to it, but not in an unbearable way. Also, I put an order of the churro bites from their tequila season menu, and I guess our bartender had forgotten to put the order in--however, they did make it up by offering a can (which was the espresso martini black this was GOOD, another recommendation please go ahead and ask your bartender for the RND espresso black) Other than that, no complaints at all. The food came out in a fair amount of time, especially considering we visited around 3pm on a Thursday. I can't speak for busier rush times, but during our visit everything flowed smoothly. Overall, another great experience at Cutwater. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, and consistently good service.

If you can't handle a Cutwater then honestly we probably can't be friends. I already love Cutwater canned cocktails so finding out their distillery is actually here in San Diego immediately made me want to go. I came with a group of friends mainly for drinks but the food sounded surprisingly good too so we ended up ordering both. First off this place is BEAUTIFUL. It has that bar vibe but still feels really nice and put together like a restaurant. Parking was rough because it was super busy but while waiting for a table we walked around looking at the merch and canned cocktails they sell there. Even the restroom was nice. Everything just felt really well designed. Right now they're doing a tequila season menu so we started with the Mexican Candy Shot. So good. It comes in this cute little clay cup with chamoy and tajin and honestly was one of my favorite things we tried. I also got the frozen mango margarita and loved it. It comes in a mango margarita Cutwater can with chamoy and tajin on the rim plus one of those chamoy candy straws. Super cute and actually really good too. The biggest surprise though was the arroz con leche drink. Someone else ordered it and I immediately wished I got one too. It literally tastes like arroz con leche but with tequila and somehow works perfectly. The presentation was also gorgeous. For food, the pork bulgogi fries were probably my favorite thing we ate. Huge portion with lots of meat, fries, cheese, and chives underneath that made everything taste even better. The buffalo wings were solid too. The only thing we didn't really love was the Jamaican jerk chicken flatbread. It sounded amazing on the menu but ended up being kind of dry and underwhelming. You could taste the rum barbecue sauce and seasoning but it just needed something more. Overall though this was such a fun spot. Workers were super friendly and even let us place a really last minute food order after last call which we appreciated. I'd definitely come back for drinks and happy hour with friends.

Its only a 4star because we did not have a chance to have dinner. I will be back because all the food looked really good. We came for the tour and tasting. Before the tour we did check out the little retail section, signature drinks, and the flatbread pizza at the bar. The drinks are delicious and I was surprised about the straight liquor they also make. The tour was fun and informative and its smaller than I thought. The tasting was all good the tour guide was very knowledgeable and also showed us the new flavors they are release next!! Side not the expresso martini + the white russian mixed together has me in a headlock...lol...overall I do recommend if you visit San Deigo stop by CutWater!!!

Came here for the first time with a group for a bday party. Long and short of it: drinks and setup are easily 5/5. Food and the vibe were a 3/5. Let's start with those drinks. We were a big group and many of us ordered on the regular menu and their specialty menu. Highly recommend their specialty menu! For the time we went it was Latin themed and they had specialty mugs and shot glasses you can take home. Each presentation for every drink was STUNNING. Special shoutouts to the: frozen margarita, la Reina, and fruta un vase. Plenty of people had their food. Wings, flatbreads, fries, burgers. Their fries were the only good ones in my opinion. Many places to sit inside and outside. Lots of TVs as well to watch a game. They also have a store where you can buy merch and alcohol. All in all really well crafted and beautiful interior. Service was fantastic! Shout out to Abby who was our server. She made sure we all had a great time. LOVED how they do reservations. Highly recommend. Parking was super easy as there's a lot they had. The only reason for the non 5 star? The vibe. The vibe was a 2 or a 3 but not necessarily because of the location but for the crowd and some of their behavior. I'm no prude but some stuff was off putting such as people throwing up in the parking lot bushes and a separate group smoking weed. May not want to bring the kiddos.

    Tequila Flight

You know I had to come back for their tequila season release on Thursday, April 16th, and it was well worth it! They had a live band playing, which made the whole atmosphere even better, and they were offering samples of their Spicy Mango Margarita and one of their tequila cocktails, "La Reina." I tried the churros and they were absolutely amazing--perfectly crispy on the outside and warm, soft, and fluffy on the inside, served with a side of chocolate sauce that made them even better. I also tried the tequila flight, which unfortunately wasn't my favorite in terms of flavor, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. I asked the bartender, Sierra, to surprise me with something refreshing, and she absolutely delivered. It was so good I drank it before I could even take a picture! I also have to give a special shoutout to my favorite bartenders: Haley, Lolo, Ciera, and Savannah. They always make sure the drinks are delicious and that I have a great time at the bar. One of my favorite things is letting them freestyle a custom drink, and every single time they create something I love. Cutwater will continue to be my go-to spot for good food, great drinks, and chill, fun vibes!!

The cutwater distillery was not what I expected and in a very unsuspecting area, but it was good and I'll be returning! The service was great and the food was really good too. The potato sourdough bread with coconut one butter really knocked my socks off, and the with the house made buffalo were delicious...a bit disappointing the ranch was not house made too. The pork belly flat bread was also really yummy and fresh. I thought I'd see cutwaters on tap, and lots of exclusive test flavors, but to my dismay we were told that the QR code with the test flavors had not been updated and there was only one available of the ones listed. Hopefully the next time I return, there will be some fun flavors to try!

Must try the dragonfruit drink! Skip the Cesar wrap. Must get the fries!! They have seasonal menus as well

Walked in Saturday morning at 11am and was seated right away table for 6. They don't have the brunch menu on Saturdays but the had their new seasonal menu. Service was attentive and friendly. Cocktails delicious and creative. Food was good but would be better. Overall solid place for lunch and craft cocktails

    Pear and Prosciutto flatbread

Such a fun Friday night spot with friends! The vibe was lively without being overwhelming, and it felt like the perfect place to kick off the weekend. Honestly, every dish we ordered was a hit. The Crispy Fried Brussels were perfectly done, and the Grilled Carrots with the lemon lavender whipped goat cheese were unexpectedly amazing -- like, who knew carrots could steal the show? The cacio e pepe fries disappeared in record time, and the lemon pepper chicken wings had just the right amount of zing. We also loved the Blistered Shishitos, the pear and prosciutto flatbread (sweet + salty perfection), the Thai Salad, and the carrot pesto flatbread. Zero complaints on the food front. While everyone else raved about their cocktails, I went the mocktail route and absolutely loved the Baby Dragon -- super refreshing and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. Overall, great food, amazing service, great drinks, great company. Solid 4 stars and definitely somewhere we'd come back to try even more of the menu.

Valentines Day Tini Espresso Martini Flight
    Natalie M.

We came to Cutwater Tasting Room on the last Tuesday in February for their Valentine's Day themed tini martini flight and had the best time. On Tuesdays they do $2 tinis, and we ordered a flight. It came with a red velvet espresso martini, chocolate espresso martini, and a white Russian. All of them were decorated super cute and very on theme. My favorite by far was the red velvet... SO good. I honestly wish I would've just ordered a full size one. The white Russian was also really good and tasted like their canned version (which I love). The chocolate espresso martini was a little strong for my personal taste, but if you like a bold cocktail you'll probably enjoy it. We also made it in for happy hour (Mon-Fri 2-6pm) and grabbed some appetizers. The artichoke dip with sourdough was hands down my favorite thing we ate loved, loved, loved it. We also tried the shrimp paloma, fries, and asked if they could do a simple pepperoni flatbread even though it wasn't on the menu, and they were super accommodating and happy to make it for us. Huge appreciation for that. Service was great all around, our waitress was really sweet and didn't make us feel weird at all for asking for small changes, and the hostess and food runners were all friendly and attentive. They even offered extra bread for the artichoke dip without us asking, which was a nice touch. This wasn't my first time at Cutwater (I've been here before for their Halloween pirate-themed pop-up), but it was my first time eating on the restaurant side, and it definitely won't be my last. Both time I have been here, the staff is welcoming, the drinks are fun, and the vibe is always a good time. Only disclaimer: the drinks are very good and sneak up on you, so pace yourself and drink responsibly! Can't wait to come back!

This place has been on my bucket list for a while and am glad we tried it. We stopped by on a Monday so the parking lot wasn't too full, the have about 35 spaces in their lot and then street parking if that is full. It was trivia night right at the end of happy hour. The drinks were good I got the dealers choice for happy hour and it was a very delicious mezcal margarita. We also got the sliders and the wontons both were good nothing to really write home about. The service was pretty stilted. When we first arrived the hostess and another worker were just talking and didn't greet us for about 3-4 minutes. And our waitress stopped by very sparingly, so we had empty drinks on our table for a pretty long time.

Good drinks and good food! This place gets packed on trivia nights (Monday). The parking lot is pretty small. We had to park down the street and walk over. I tried the fiesta flight. It was very pretty! It also tasted very refreshing. The food items were surprisingly pretty good! Our waitress was super friendly and helped us out with the menu since it was our first time. We've always had the cutwater cocktail drinks in a can, but we were glad to finally go to the distillery. Fun spot to go to with friends for drinks and food. Looking forward to visiting again.

Do you have to be 21 and older?

No. But will be required to show ID if ordering a drink. I've seen kids here too

Can you sit at the bar and have drinks and appetizers without a reservation?

Yes. We didn't want to wait for a table once and sat at the bar. You can even order food. Not just appetizers.

Is there a kids menu for dinner?

I don't remember seeing a kids menu when I was there last.

    Do you have high chairs?

Yes they do- you have to ask a server for them.

Will there be a holiday/Christmas menu for food and/or drinks for December? If yes, when?

I know they'll be a host of new Holiday Cocktails but it hasn't been confirmed if the menu will be changed. As far as I'm aware the menu changes seasonally and I believe that was October?

Is there a way to make a reservation. I've been trying to call yet no one answered the call ☹️?

I've never had success doing it on the telephone, but you can do it online at their website. On the website take a look at the sections called visiting the tasting room and you will see all the options available.

    Do you allow dogs?

I don't think so I didn't see any outside patio where a dog could lay or say you might want to reach out to the restaurant to verify have a great rest of your week

    We are absolutely family friendly!

Is brunch only served on Sunday? Or also Saturday?

    Sunday all day!

Yes! We took our dog there and they were super kind and welcoming.

Are you guys still opened? I've been trying to call for several days so I'm just wondering if you're still opened.

They're open, have been for quite a while. Just had lunch there yesterday.

How much does the guided tour cost?

Hi there! The guided tasting experience ranges from $15-25 depending on which flight you choose. Before the guided tasting we offer a very brief behind-the-scenes look at the distillery at no extra cost.

QUICK BIO Founded in 2015 by Matt Delvecchio and Brett Goldstock, their beers were gluten-reduced due to Matt's celiac disease; frankly, he wanted to be able to drink beer and found a way to do it without harming himself! "Duck Foot" was a snowboarding term if you rode with your toes angled away from each other, then you could switch to your right or left foot while going down the slopes. It was a deft way of maneuvering, but also made you look kinda silly - which summed up the staff pretty well. All of this zaniness contributed to the funny beer names and quirky packaging artwork. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A spacious layout https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=57KdYg48K-IMOHEH0rg9IQ with the bar/order counter directly in front of you when you entered, a highly-visible tap menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=issos1QjwbLqHYCYJAl2pA on the wall behind the bar, many communal benches and tall tables inside and on the front patio, brewing tanks in the background, games https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=D78FJjUsG_FjQX_bUZvHGw in a corner, and on this particular night there was a well-attended astronomy presentation https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=xaEnKPrdF3diRb_uOqYBAg which was a first for me. Plenty of natural lighting entered through the large front windows and doors while an assortment of electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several TVs throughout while I couldn't recall any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=rOS9_YXUfQmMuzGaZqEnYw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL We had a chilling time at Duck Foot Brewing and would plan another visit to try more of the over 15 beers on tap as well as wine and slushies. The two beers I had were very tasty and easygoing, the prices were comparable, and the service was straightforward. Furry family members were allowed! They also had happy hour specials and nightly entertainment such as trivia, music, and more. Ample free parking was always a major plus. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $60.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Andrew, one of the assistants, always goes above and beyond and makes the experience even better every time we visit. We usually come with our two kids, and both they and we love it here. The ambiance is beautiful and relaxed, which makes it perfect for a family meal. Highly recommend the pizzas, the burger is solid, and the fried chicken is really interesting with a lemon zest sauce that works surprisingly well. The French onion is also excellent. Honestly, everything we've tried has been delicious. Definitely one of our go-to spots.

We sat inside which I prefer to outside as the decorations are sharper and seating is cleaning and comfier. Lots of companies come here for their after work happy-hours so it's always very lively and bustling after work. Service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I ordered the Gravity Burger which is a bacon cheeseburger and came with a choice of fries or salad. I was craving a fruity drink and ordered Its Britney Spritz which is an Elderflower based fruity cocktail. The burger was quite good, and I appreciated how crispy the double fried fries were. I would have liked a little more greens in my burger for that fresh crunch but I understood the vision with a very cohesive burger and perhaps more greens would have detracted from the meaty goodness. Towards the end of our evening the heat lamps got extremely hot above our table. Not sure if that was intentional or not to get us to leave but we ended up heading out as it was difficult to focus on our conversation while we were sweating. Overall Gravity Heights is a fun happy hour spot for solid drinks and good food.

I was really impressed that u had a place to set my feet on because I'm very short and normally have a hard time with regular bar seats. There are a lot of cute touches like that. Hooks to hold your purse, etc. I was loving the soulful music which I thought was from a playlist so I used Shazam in order to capture the song. However, the music started to sound live so I walked around...only to find it was coming from a very talented woman named Marianne across the bar. Service was friendly, but we both noticed other tables were a bit ignored or slow to be served. We ordered a few margaritas. Cesar salad with chicken and the lobster arrabbiata with table-side Parmesan. The food was great. I'm not a big focaccia lover but there's was the best I've ever had. It was warm, light, airy, fluffy, and came with this amazing butter AND olive oil, balsamic rosemary. We used the bread to dip into the leftover pasta sauce. We ordered margaritas. I would definitely recommend the blood orange drink they have on the menu. Shout out to Morgan, who was an amazing server and Marianne whose live music changed my whole mood. You are so talented girl!

The signage is small so keep an eye out. The owner, Jeff, is a riot! We did a tasting that was curated by him and our love for libations. He makes all of his spirits himself. His distillery started with gin which is why I'd never been because I don't like gin for any reason. I would love to say that I remember the different cocktails that he whipped up for us but we drank a lot and that was months ago. LOL. I can say everything was outstanding! My favourite was this fluffy daiquiri ice (Baskin Robbin's ice cream I love) flavoured cocktail that was indescribable but so stinking delicious. When our tasting was done we all lined up to purchase bottles. I bought a bottle of rum which was my favourite libation of the evening. I've been told the maple syrup and the pancake mix he sells is a must to buy so definitely go check it out. Looking forward to our next tasting, Jeff!
