These seats were so comfortable!!! I think all AMCs should implement these into their designs. Not sure if all theatres have these but highly recommend trying them. Each seat had its own pillow and foot rest too!

This USED to be our go-to place to see movies. We loved being waited on in the auditorium and enjoyed the nice new seats and food options. This place has gone downhill badly since taken over by AMC. I was hoping they would make improvements since they are such a huge chain, but we had to go stand in line twice after booking our seats online as the chairs are an absolute wreck in most auditoriums. They are all ripped and scratch when you sit in them. Also the recliners only have the legs portion of the recliner go up about half way and the backs do not recline. Not really clean, needs major attention and upgrades and the top row always has the aisle wall too high and it is blocking the bottom portion of the movie screen. Really hope they make massive improvements soon or this location will not make it.

This CLEARLY shows there was a 12:20 movie I bought tickets for.

TALK ABOUT TERRIBLE!!!! I took my granddaughter on a date and the sewage smell coming from the facility was AWFUL!!!! Then to top it off the A/C in our theatre was out but nobody bothered to acknowledge it before we bought snacks and went in. I asked for a manager and let's just say his lackluster attitude about the situation is an understatement. This theatre needs to shut down or IMPROVE!!!! ***UPDATE*** 7/20/23 I thought I'd give Prairefire 17 another chance since my last horrible yet honest review was 11 months ago... Well, it's OFFICIAL, I won't abandon AMC Town Center 20, again. I took my two youngest grandkids to see Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kracken today. Our experience was thwarted due to no one understanding that listening is free, and reading is fundamental. I exchanged our 2:10 movie for the 12:20 movie. The young lady at the register didn't know what she was doing (mind you that an exchange process at AMC 20 is seamless) & I found myself standing there for over 10 minutes. They then give me the tickets and tell me theater 6. I get my grandkids settled and there's no preview or anything for that matter playing on the big screen. I go out to ask, and a young lady says she'll let someone know. A few moments later I was told that they told us the wrong theatre and that they don't have a 12:20 movie!!!!!! Keep in mind that I have tickets that say 12:20... I try and speak with a manager and he wants to immediately placate me with guest passes. We get to our new and correct theater late because of all the lackadaisical people that kept getting it wrong. There was no apology from the manager and I won't suggest this once amazing theater to anyone again. I'm particular about the memories I create with my grandkids and for that reason, we made it a wonderful movie date.

There doesn't seem to be many theaters around the area that serve good quality restaurant style food anymore since the pandemic. We come here for the food, bar, amazing decor and overall excellent design and space of this theater. We've not been disappointed yet. Being an A-Lister makes our experience even more so worth the price.

Accent chairs that someone thinks are ok for theater seats
    Jill C.

The food was fantastic, the movie was great, but OMG our chairs were these accent chairs like you might find in a lobby of a motel and they were old and saggy and only slightly more comfortable than a metal folding chair. Other seats had an ottoman but ours and the trap house couch next to us did not. The couch was draped in some kind of sheet to cover up God knows what. I can't believe AMC headquarters is just ten minutes away from this travesty! The staff was great and everyone was very helpful. If you go to see a movie here, bring pillows to try to make these seats something you can sit in for two hours

    Jason G.

I came here when it was cinetopia. AMC has not improved the situation. Both companies are providing mediocre experiences. It felt empty from start to finish here. Maybe it was the staff or maybe it was the interior. Or the lack of movie goers. We did have an issue finding our theater since there was no sign out front telling us what movie was playing inside. I'll be giving them another chance because I really like AMC. But they need to step up their movie game.

The movie theater was probably around 72 degrees? so don't come in expecting freezing cold air conditioning. Great for people who don't want to wear a sweater in the middle of summer. The seats were super comfortable. Nice to lean back in, for the Dolby theater. Staff were great. Great. Nobody bothered me about bringing a giant water bottle, which was quite honestly just filled with regular water. Times to fill it with more water. We got pretzel bites which were delicious, and popcorn chicken which went well with the hot honey sauce. It was great to come in early and finish our snacks so that we could enjoy the movie without sticky fingers. I'm not sure if the noise level was just because this was a Nolan film, or if all movies are like this nowaday. I don't want to keep coming to movie theaters that require me to bring my own ear plugs.

I also have no complaints about the cleanliness, showtimes, service and most importantly The Food. I usually get popcorn and chicken tenders every time I visit, and they are always fresh and prepared well. Overall, I have never had any big issues with this theater. That said, I definitely feel like the place could use little bit of renovations, as the decor looks a bit one toned and outdated. It doesn't take away from the experience I have there but a decor refresh would definitely add a lovely touch. One thing I would mention is the pricing of the popcorn/snacks - a standard size popcorn for $10 plus is just wild ($10.47 to be precise). If they could lower the prices a bit, it would be a win win situation for everyone. Needless to say, I always enjoy my movie time here and will always keep coming back. A proud A-List member (four movies a week for around $22 a month - now that's a stellar deal)!

We connected with Michael about hosting a movie night for our volunteers and staff at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, and he immediately responded to our request and scheduled a time for a site visit. From our first interaction, he was friendly, genuine, on time, and communicative without fail. He has immense knowledge about his industry & equipment and has an impressive arsenal of processes in place so that his team is ready for anything. We had to postpone our first date due to weather, and Michael was in communication with us the whole time we were working to reschedule. We even had a hiccup with our planned site the night of our rescheduled event, and he and his team pivoted their entire set-up process like it was nothing. As a person in the events industry, I cannot say enough about their unwaveringly calm demeanor and creative problem solving. The night of the event, they arrived with plenty of time to set up the screen, sound system, lights, and popcorn machine. Everything was set up on time and looked organized. They were prepared for anything & the pinnacle of professionalism, and I cannot wait to work with them again!

The theatre itself is large with plenty of seating, and the screen definitely lives up to its Extreme Screen name. It's huge with a great picture and I recommend sitting toward the back for the best view. The seats were comfortable, though they don't recline, which is my only complaint. The concession prices were very reasonable, a large popcorn and a large drink for under $15, cheaper than most big name theatres. It also happened to be our three year olds first movie in a theater! The major underrated benefit to this theater, IMO, is not only is it great for kids' movies, but it's not incredibly loud. You know those theaters that want to flex their audio and you can feel it in your chest during an action scene? Not the case here. Perfect audio balancing, which helps my sensitive kiddo (and me, let's be real). I was surprised that even after buying four tickets, popcorn, and snacks that they wouldn't validate parking. It's gotten much stricter around Union Station as the Streetcar has taken off, which I totally understand. However, I think being a paying customer should have a small reward. Just a little feedback. I love almost everything about Union Station, right down to the bathrooms, so enjoying this theater is no surprise. Go check it out!

We were able to enjoy movies at the Belton 8 about weekly due to its affordability, including during its last week of operation. We saw Young Washington for a second time. The first time we saw the movie was in Auditorium 8 and it was comfortable and clean. The second time was in Auditorium 5 and it also was well air conditioned (great since it was a very hot day) and clean. We always found the auditoriums, in fact the entire theater, to be clean and well lit. There were two ticket sellers at the box office, a male and a female, and both were friendly, smiling, professional and courteous while being expeditious while providing tickets. There were five concession lines open and each of the employees working a line were smiling and friendly with customers. The gentleman ticket taker happily took our tickets, confirmed the correct auditorium, and described our way down the hallway. Restrooms were clean as were the hallways and entryway. The Belton 8 Cinema will be missed for many reasons, its staff, cleanliness, care. and especially for its family friendly prices. This first run theater provided movies for $5.75 at most times for most ages, and topped out at $7.75 for non-senior adults at non-matinee times. The concessions were always fresh, a nice variety (though they did not have Diet Dr Pepper) and cost friendly with the most expensive popcorn/drink being a jumbo (extra large) tub of popcorn and drink at about $16.00 and included one free refill of each, and they fill those popcorn tubs in a nice rounded top, no skimping. The Belton 8 Cinema has been providing such a wonderful experience for people as part of the Mitchell Theatre since 2015 and we are thankful for them due to their efforts to be a family friendly, customer friendly, clean and safe place to affordably see movies. Sadly, the city plans pushed out this theater for a planned bigger venture with almost twice the prices so the Belton 8 will be missed by many, many, many. The Belton 8's last day showing movies was Thursday, July 30, 2026, and there were numerous people on hand to say final goodbyes to the great people who worked there and served us over the years. We always recommended the Belton 8. Alas, not available anymore. :(
