We drove over an…read morehour to Kansas City specifically to see Dolewite, purchased VIP tickets, and paid for a hotel for the night. This was a planned night out that we were genuinely excited about. My husband was removed from the venue for "swaying" a few times on the dance floor. That was it. No aggression, no disruption, no intoxicated behavior, no confrontation. He has severe knee issues and was simply shifting his weight while standing and enjoying the music. Instead of checking in or handling the situation with any kind of discretion or compassion, security immediately escalated it and kicked us out entirely. It was humiliating, unnecessary, and completely ruined our night. We lost our VIP experience, the show we traveled for, and the money spent on tickets and lodging. There was absolutely no attempt to understand the situation or treat us like paying customers. This could have been handled in a respectful way, but it was not. Unfortunately, we will not be returning, and I would caution others that security here seems overly aggressive and unwilling to use basic judgment. A night that was meant to be fun turned into an awful memory. Side note: We did not drive , we took uber to and from hotel. It was an expensive evening-RUINED! Also , I googled voodoo lounge after we got back to hotel and the aggressive behavior seems to be a trend of theirs. Something needs to change. We had a lady directly in front of us thrashing about and spilling her drink ALL OVER THE FLOOR and she was left alone. Made zero sense.

Once I got what was going on I was instantly addicted and frantically looking for a place like this near my home. The performers took song requests and rocked each one. These talented performers made the songs their own while playing the instruments and riffing with the crowd. My group (not my date or me) tried to get on stage, demand songs and even pick a fight with the bouncer but we were handled with grace and even comedy from the performers which is better than we deserved. All in all this place will be one I remember for a long time. I highly recommend checking it out.

It's not my normal scene but I've always had a good time and I feel like it's run really well. It's located smack dab in the middle of power and light. Parking lots are around but it'll cost at least $20. You do have a streetcar option. I usually park a mile away and just walk. There are a ton of restaurants that surround it, a large stage, tvs, and lots and lots of bars. It's outdoors but there's a large canopy that blocks some of the sun. There are two levels, the upper level is great if it gets crowded because the lower level gets a little stuffy and hot when bodies start packing in. You can enjoy a bit of a breeze if you're on the upper level and it tends to not be as crowded. But if you want to be in the action then I recommend the lower level for you. Bathrooms are relatively clean. I've seen and experienced worse and theirs are way better than I ever expected. The age range tends to skew younger. Like early to mid 20s. A sprinkling of 30-40 year olds. Then maybe a few that are older. It's definitely frat/sorority vibes, at least in my experience but the kids have always been well behaved. There's lots of surrounding restaurants that you can get food and beverages from. Plus bars throughout. Drink prices are a bit higher than a regular bar but the quality and sizes are much better than at other popular venues so I don't complain. For 20 bucks I can get 32oz of Tank 7 at Johnnys. They have several cocktails, I like Besos crushers. I did see some individuals with buckets of booze from somewhere. Food wise there's a bit of everything-regular bar food, bbq, tacos, Irish food, pizza, and probably other things that I'm not recalling. The pizza by the slice is decent but I tend to gravitate once again to Johnnys because I can put in an order to go and grab it and go home after whatever event. Fun spot. The soccer watch party was a super fun time and I honestly enjoyed it more than the FIFA fan fest. The hosts are great. Definitely check out an event here sometime.

I made a reservation for 6, not 4. The event said doors open at 4pm with a complimentary buffet between 6-8pm. The buffet was a salad, lasagna, mac and cheese, chicken strips, and a quesadilla--all of which were delicious. Unfortunately, there was ONE bartender and ZERO servers until after 7pm so we had to go to the bar to order a drink. In fact, no one came to take our order at our table until after 8pm. STRIKE 2. The DJ played some great music but kept cranking up the volume to the point that standing shoulder-to-shoulder we couldn't talk to each other. Additionally, because they oversold, we were surrounded on all sides by people standing around, bumping and brushing by us. STRIKE 3. We ended up leaving around 8:45pm because it was painfully loud, no one was dancing because the area where you would expect dancing was full of people standing around, and we had to take turns sitting/standing because our reservation for 6 was not honored.
