Buy online or at the theater, but if you buy online and you're a member of their loyalty program, then fees are waived. So that's a plus, breeze past the line...to encounter the concessions line(s). Derp. The IMAX theater(s) is pretty massive, seating easily a couple hundred people all comfortably tucked into their own recline-able seats. The screen is ginormous, and here's a tip: gets tickets at least row E and later. The first two rows are WAY too close to enjoy the experience. Downside? Stupid Hollywood advertising. We're there for a three-ish hour long show and we get 25-30 minutes of COMING SOON. Jeez. Couldn't that meeting just have been an email? I know the studios are laying out bazillions to make and cast films anymore, especially with streamers having their own production studios, but this old cranky man DOES NOT LIKE that much advertising. Booooo. Tickets are the same as pretty much anywhere else, with discounts for matinees and seniors. The theaters are clean and comfy, and the selection is generally great. We had a very good experience here. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the prices seem very reasonable for an industry not known for reasonably priced offerings. We saw The Bride on the XD screen in DBOX seats. The seats were the most comfortable theater seats I've ever sat in, but unfortunately the motion and effects were out of sync with the movie. This was a real bummer because instead of being more immersive, it took you out of the film. Other than that one issue, we had a great time. read more

There was an old man that works security there. Meanest old fart I have ever met, I was unhappy because I was denied refills for my items after the movie I watched ended. I specifically bought those items to get their refills and he got verbal with me when I voiced my dissatisfaction over their no refills after a certain time frame "policy" not being posted anywhere. He called for a manager and then cancelled his call for one after I threw away my Xl popcorn bucket and my brother that they refused to refill. Overall the worst experience I have ever had here and it genuinely makes me want to solicit the competition from now on due to the crappy Paul blarts attitude toward me. Overall I DO NOT recommend going there anytime after 9 you won't leave happy if you engage with staff. I would rate this lower but it isn't possible. read more

I spotted a small fire starting in the wood chips on the side of the building. I poured water on it, but it kept burning so I asked the manager for a large water to put it out and they denied it. The cashier was kind enough to give me one anyway. The manager said the fire probably came from construction and waved it off. We decided to try out this location for the D BOX motion seats. I was bummed the seats did not recline and the D Box chairs are upright and hard; so even though the movement experience is cool, it is not the most comfortable for long time periods. The theater is nice and clean and offers dinner food items and an arcade room. The only thing I disliked were the bathrooms. They are super dark with really slick floors and the stalls are so narrow. We will return for another extreme digital experience soon. read more

This is by far my favorite movie theater in town. The ticket price is ALWAYS right. Every day of the week the price per ticket is reasonable but if you go on Tuesday it's only $6 with tax. It gets me and my family in there almost every other week. Also if you join the Cinemark members club you get access to discounts on snacks and soda plus free refills on your large popcorn. My husband and I went to see the new Mad Max movie and we were able to get right up to the ticket counter and purchase tickets. We were served quickly at the snack counter where we got the combo and the popcorn was fresh. The theater was clean and the loungers were comfortable and in working order. Customer service, I had tickets for a show that we bought online I have the email with the time and seats pay in advance to unsure we could get in , got to the theatre on time they told us or show time was an hour later which wasn't true my email literally said the time we had chosen took them 30 min to figure something out and wanted us to pay more to exchange the time which didn't makes sense since we had already payed for those tickets, we ended up asking for a refund they did not have in the full amount since they were bought online. we didn't get to see the movie and they kept part of our money. read more

Cinemark has been a big name in movies for years. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be what it used to be. The seats haven't received standard maintenance or upgrades in years. They're old and cracking. Some are even missing padding. The concessions, while perfectly acceptable, are a bit basic. Popcorn, candy, sodas, etc... . High end, special menu items and / or adult beverages aren't available. A once modern and vibrant movie chain has become a discount / saver second option. I have not been to Cinemark since the pandemic and the one we frequented was the now closed Plaza location. If you're planning to go to this particular Cinemark for a movie anytime soon, check this out: 1. Get the app: The Cinemark app is your best bet. We saw Black Panther 2 last night and it was nice to skip the line of people and go straight to the ticket scanner. We also bought our concessions ahead of time in the app so skipping the line to get our order was awesome. I cannot stress this enough-get the app and buy your stuff ahead of time! 2. Yes, It's old: This Cinemark location is over twenty years old and I agree with previous reviewers that it needs a facelift-especially the bathrooms. They were doing construction of some sort so that is promising. They did upgrade the seats in the theater we were in. They are leather and recline back. Not the best but definitely better than the old chairs they had before. The bathrooms are in dyer need of an upgrade. Luckily, they were clean and I saw staff cleaning them often. I'm hoping the construction I saw is part of that. 3. The Price Is Nice: I've reviewed AMC before and the biggest gripe was how expensive it is. Cinemark is cheaper than AMC. Our total trip was $55. And that included the pre-purchased popcorn. With Cinemark, you are going to get what you pay for. AMC has the frills and fancy stuff and you will definitely pay for that. Cinemark may not have all the bells and whistles, but if you are watching your pocketbook, it's a win. 4. Customer Service: We did not encounter Melissa (thankfully) but did speak to a manager upon arriving and the person scanning tickets. Both were professional and friendly. Additionally, the folks at the concession stand were polite and professional for a busy Friday night; which was a pleasant surprise. 5. Friday Night Frenzy: It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that a 7pm showing for one of the years most anticipated movie will be popping, because it was. I'm sure it was sold out. Demographically, it ranged from adolescents to the more seasoned folks with a sprinkle of parents with babies in between. (4 to be exact.) We knew what we were getting into so we were unbothered. The matinee will be your best bet if you want to avoid this. I have also visited around the afternoon hours it was much quieter than Friday or Saturday evening. I hear Sunday is a fantastic day to go as well. Overall, you cannot go wrong with Cinemark. It may not be the prettiest because of its old age, but it's like a well-oiled machine. You know what to expect. The prices are budget friendly and they are making upgrades based on the construction I observed. We will be back. read more

I'm not from here. The customer service was awful. I bought two icee for me and my sister. And without a question they gave us both Coca Cola. And there was no refill so I have to another one for my sister that was not cola. They were also mean to a dude behind us to make him change lines which the line next to us was way longer. He was not happy. The theater that I was in did not have recline seats. They also didn't have a snack pack. The movie theater that is in my home town has recline seats and inf refill. It feels so good to be back and watch movies on the big screen. The tvs or phone screen just isn't right especially for the big blockbuster movies. I like this threater because it's the only that reasonable for their price without overspending and you can get snacks and drinks too. It may not be the best seats in the city but it is still doable and you can enjoyed the movie especially nowadays it isn't too crowded. I hate missing the beginning of a movie. HATE IT! I had to miss the beginning of a movie at Cinemark because of the sloooow customer service. It is maddening to see this theatre has several concession stands but only one open and the line barely moving. The servers seem to be moving in slow motion. Despite the slow service and missing the start of a great movie, this place is actually kind of cool. The main thing I like about Cinemark is they show old movies in conjunction with Fathom Events. That is a special treat for a person like me. How often in your life do you get to see Lawrence of Arabia on the big screen? What a joy! I like the decor and how the theatre is laid out. It seems very stream lined and it is easy to get to your theatre. There are several handy bathrooms so you don't have to hike a mile for a break, either. In addition to the theatre, there is a gift shop and a cafe in this theatre. There is also a playground for kids. This is a fun place and I enjoy going to this theatre. Other theatres have spoiled me, though. Cinemark does not have reclining seats. Bummer! But the seats are not uncomfortable, they just don't recline. The concession stand is slow and some of the food is not the best. I got a hot dog that was very chewy and the mustard from the machine was the equivalent of water. Very disappointed. The popcorn is very good and that is my favorite. I only ordered the hotdog because Lawrence of Arabia was almost four hours long. lol. The app is very handy and it is great to sign up for their perks. It seems they appreciate their customers and have incentives to attend. Nice place to watch a movie. Came for a mommy daughter day to see frozen. The movie was amazing!! We ordered the kids pack which comes with popcorn, drink and a fruit snack. Perfect snack for a movie for a little one. The theatre awe were in needs to be updated the seats were old and felt very sunken in. I had to use the booster seat to help my daughter see over the seat front of us. Which has a drink holder which is very confident. I hope they plan to update the theatre soon. Other than that the prices are great! The movie excellent! The staff was perfect! It's ok. this is not my go-to theater. for the price it is decent. they do have special events here that AMC does not host - such as Metallica's S&M concert. they were understaffed for an almost sold out show. I don't go to the movies much and when I do I ask myself, this is so peaceful and serene, why do you wait fo long? My cousin, Dawn, was in town so we went to see The Hustlers. The tickets were pre-purchased with the Cinemark app. So, when we arrived, we showed the pitch to the ticket agent then stopped to get refreshments. Who can go to the movies without pop and popcorn ? What an extreme disappointment our experience was today. Went to see The Chosen and the theatre was so frigid we were barely able to stay and watch the movie let alone enjoy it. We were huddled together under our coats and still freezing. On top of that, they have offered free refills on large popcorn & soda. That is "not available right now"! When we brought the cold to the attention of the manager she basically said they have had no heat in 3 theaters for over 2 weeks. She said "sorry" and walked away. Very disappointed. I've been to this theater countless times before and rarely encountered bad experiences. I frequently come to this theater because of the location, cheap movie tickets, and nice movie experience. They recently updated all of the the theaters with new seats and updated their concession stands and arcade area. The matinee ticket price before 4pm is $4.25 and after 4pm for General Admissions is $6.25 and General Admissions Weekend price is $6.75. There are times they have sold out times on holidays or opening weekends, which I would try to avoid. Overall, I would recommend this theater if you are nearby or love watching movies for cheap prices. read more

They charge an extra fee to buy tickets online which is ridiculous. So obviously the line to buy tickets at the door was insanely long. Also, the concession line was out of this world when we arrived. That said, we noticed it was too bad when we left. I would say the concession prices were not as high others, relatively speaking. They don't have combos which I think isn't too bad because you have straightforward pricing. I dunno. This theatre surprised me. I didn't even know it was there. It is in a mall that I didn't know was there either. The theatre is easily passed on I-35 without seeing it and is on local roads that I do not often use (Johnson Dr. and Antioch Rd). Perhaps those were once heavily used roads before I-35 was built, but now there is little reason to travel on those roads unless you happen to live in that area. For what amounts to a neighborhood theatre, it is surprisingly large and modern, with stadium seating having lots of leg room. Oh, and the prices are lower than theatres in better known locations. I owe this find to the other Yelp reviews of it. Otherwise I probably would have continued driving near it on I-35 or Shawnee Mission Drive, without ever knowing it was there. read more

RUDEST EMPLOYEE. All my friends and I wanted to do was go see Minions Rise of Gru and when tried to buy tickets, we were immediately targeted as suspects. Melissa at the box office was incredibly aggressive and distrustful of my friends and I for an unexplained reason. She gossiped to her coworker ABOUT us and called security on us right infront of our faces. This made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. Upon trying to see the movie we, and other teens Melissa had reported, were actively watched by security. We were feeling so hurt and fuming by this endeavor that we had to remove ourselves from the situation. I will absolutely not be returning simply due to Melissa, no other employee is to fault for my horrendous experience. read more

If this movie theater was located in my hometown when I was growing up, it would have been a sure-fire 5-star rated complex. 20 screens. Stadium seating. Recently updated and renovated. Modern options for purchasing tickets (i.e. online, via self-service stations, etc.). Comfy, semi-reclining seats. All good. Best of all, this place is very affordable compared to the Kansas City-based gorilla in the room (cough-cough...AMC...cough-cough). Those are the reasons I try to see my movies here. That said, you make some sacrifices for the money saved. One of them is my new favorite feature of movie-going: reserved seating. There's nothing worse than organizing babysitting, taking out a second mortgage on the house to afford the stiff ask in theater entry fees, and getting all gussied-up just to find out that getting to the theater 30 minutes early WASN'T EARLY ENOUGH. Welcome to the front row... Another feature the complex lacks is fully reclining (with footrest) leather seats. But where I really have to hit out at the Cinemark 20 is the cleanliness. It's one of those places that just seems to almost always have a bit of a dank, sticky feel to it. Every now and then, there's even a big issue, as was the case today. I walked into a restroom that had a couple large neon warning cones barking about wet floors. What there SHOULD have been was a sign on the door imploring people to stay out. That's because there was a sewage backup, from what I could tell. There was a nauseating smell, a lake of foul water covering the entire floor, and more water pouring over one of the urinals at the end of the wall. It's not enough to simply put up warning cones for the water - you need to cordon off a scene like that, folks! Overall, most of the time, there's a great value in going here if you're able to get over it not being the most cutting edge theater in Kansas City. read more

The prices are always great. $4.50 for a matinee for a brand new movie is always awesome! Evening price for adults is $6.50. The arcade is always fun, but we obviously don't spend much time there. When we do head to the arcade, it's always empty! The little dining area inside is AMAZING. However, they are a bit slow when making their food. You have to try the chili cheese fries! The fries are always crisp and delicious. I used to love their wings, but today, we got wings so tiny that they're the size of my thumb. I don't know if I would pay $9.50 for that again. Their indoor ticket kiosks are always fast and easy if there's a long line on a Saturday night.
