Just opened weeks ago. Really clean so far, spotless bathroom, seats don't have any left over food all over the place and the ground isn't sticky. My husband and I saw Dune there yesterday. It was the first time that we two cinephiles had gone to an actual movie theater since the start of the pandemic. The film was good, but the experience was far from great. While they were showing about a dozen trailers, I noticed how loud the volume was,* so I complained to the assistant manager. He replied that the trailers are always louder than the actual movie; and if the volume of the movie itself was too high, I should come back out and tell him. (I suggested that he should check it out himself, but he declined to do that.) Of course, not only was the movie's volume NOT lower, it was actually a touch higher than that of the trailers. (During the movie, I measured an AVERAGE volume of 80 dB and a maximum volume of 91(!) dB. Per the CDC, "[n]oise above 70 dB over a prolonged period of time may start to damage your hearing.") In this case, these noise levels lasted for 2 1/2 hours; and the volume WAS harmful. I didn't dare leave the theater, because there were other patrons watching; and there was 0% chance that they'd stop the movie, poll the other patrons, rewind the movie to the point where I'd left the theater, and re-show it with the volume turned down (or at least turned down enough to prevent hearing damage). I ended up literally putting my fingers in my ears for nearly the entire film. Afterwards I complained to the general manager, who stated that the studios require that their movies be shown at a certain volume, i.e. within a small range of an overall excessive volume. When I told him that I spent most of the movie with my fingers engaged with my ears, he declined to offer me any refund/voucher, since I had actually seen the whole film. Bad form! I realize that most-or-all studios that produce action films want those movies to be shown at a high volume--especially during scenes where they want the audience to FEEL the rumble--so I'm essentially tilting at windmills here. But I expected at least a little sympathy from the theater's managers, and I got none. I won't return to this theater anytime soon. *I used SoundPrint to measure the actual volume of both the trailers and the movie, at a distance of 1' from my ears, and got essentially the same results for all of them. read more

I am never a big fan of watching movies during prime time - week days or weekends. So picking a Wednesday night 9:45 PM show worked fine and I really wanted to see 'The Gentlemen' without too much hassle of the bustle. All the new renovated AMC's with the dine in type theater experience are awesome. The wide chairs, the spacious setting, the range of food choices and the self serve soft drinks machines with their range of even simple cola flavors was all great. Not to mention the service from the staff was good! No one was anything but very polite and very helpful in finding my theater, restroom etc. The Hillshire Bites was very cool from the Concession Stand with Genoa Salami. The movie was good and entertaining. The parking is nice and open and plentiful and free and separate from the Mall. Overall a nice experience. Will go back here for sure. read more

I do not typically​ explore outside of my favorite theater, which is in Alexandria, but I was in the area, so I tried AMC Wheaton Mall 9 out. Though it wasn't my cup of tea, this location wasn't too shabby​. ​ The theater is relatively​ small with only nine screens,​ but that is what creates​ the intimate feel of the theater. Though the actual screens were not at large as I hoped, and the reclining seats were quite small, I was satisfied by my visit. This theater has a pretty full bar that you can spot as soon as you come in, and the concessions can be found on the right side of the theater. If you are going to a movie, and you want to remain incognito, this could be the theater for you. Just make sure you purchase your tickets in advance because they do sell out swiftly. read more

The theater is mostly clean, acceptably stocked and comfortable seating but the sheer utter failure is the staff is the problem. First the employee's seem are terrible poorly trained, slow, and don't listen then there is the management, completely dismissive, uncaring and unfriendly. If you go here then hope you have no issue or you will leave unhappy and disrespected. Also move closer than you would, the screen will be small than you're used to. read more

Pretty cool movie theater. Conveniently located right across from the Wheaton metro. Plenty of parking available. The theater is pretty clean. The line for the concession stand can get long so arrive a little early to beat the crowd. They have tons the self-serve coca-cola machines which eases the need to wait for the staff to make them. The also offer alcoholic beverages and meals too. read more

Recently joined the stub membership, and plan to start coming to the movies more often. The theater is really nice, there is a bar and seating available. I'm spoiled so I only like theater's with the reclining sears. One thing is that it tends to be a little cold. read more

I just finished seeing Black Panther at this theatre. It was my first time there and this place is the Bomb.com. They have the most comfortable reclining seats, they serve alcohol, the place is just phenomenal AND there was no additional charge for this luxuriousness. This is my new favorite theatre. I almost want to keep this secret to myself. I will be seeing all my movies here from now on. read more

Had tickets for an 8 PM show and arrived at 7:05 to sit at their bar for a few minutes for a drink. Their policy is to not let people in 45 minutes prior to the movie starting. They said to return in 15 minutes if we wanted to enter and grab a drink. The theater wasn't busy and only 3 people were at the bar. I also don't remember seeing times for entering the theater. Anyways, if you visit, don't get there too early or you'll be turned away as well. I won't be returning. read more

So I lived in Wheaton for many years and I am so glad they opened up again and that it is an AMC chain ! I love coming here since its so close and convenient and I love Wheaton! My only complaint are two There is one guy that works in food area i didn't get his name his attitude is horrible always in a hurry and doesn't listen to the costumer ! I pay to be a rewards member and I expect to be given my benefits in full and how I would like. Also its always freezing in there Im just sure to bring a sweater. Im really easy going and don't ask for much but i think its rude to not try and understand what the costumer wants and try to help them out. You'd think it would be easy ordering some snacks but they can make it difficult. I'd just advise them to get rid of that guy ! read more

This theater just opened recently, maybe not too recent. This was an old theater before that's close down for many years. Today was my first time coming here and I was so happy that I went here instead of my usual theater. I think this place is pretty good. The recliner seats are AWESOME! It's very comfy. They lose two stars for not having a cp signal in the theater and for not having a wifi connection. Not only that, the staff are not friendly and they're not welcoming. The parking is FREE! Yay! A long time ago in an income bracket far far away... I worked for Loews Theatres in Pentagon City. The Wheaton location was one of our "sister" theaters where we could see movies for free. The last time I saw a movie here was when Cast Away came out. That was about 15 years ago. Why does the theater look pretty much the same inside? When I saw the flashy sign about the "new" theater, I thought that perhaps they'd gutted the place and modernized it (stadium seats). Nope. At least not in the auditorium I went into. The theater was very small. The screen was surprisingly small too. Granted, it was a movie that had been out for a few weeks. I know that they tend to put those in the smallest theaters, but still... I don't think I've seen a screen that small in years. I was on maybe the fifth row and could see the whole screen and wall without turning my head or eyes. Since no one else was in the theater, I moved up a few rows and it was fine. The sound was loud and sharp, so that was a plus. The picture was clear. I LOVE the reclining leather seats. I love them even more because they were included in the price and not an add on like some places. I've run out of organs to sell, so I couldn't afford to buy food from the concession stand. It smelled good if that helps you in any way. Customer service was 50/50. The woman who helped me was very courteous and seemed to be going above and beyond to help me. Unfortunately, everything she told me was wrong. She meant well, but if I hadn't gone with my gut I would've ended up paying $15 for a new stubs membership when my current one still has six months to go. I'll chalk it up to everything and everyone being new. Aside from the leather reclining seats, I can't see much of a reason to go out of my way to come to this theater. read more

Here on Sunday afternoon. There is one person selling tickets and taking tickets to enter the theatre, so of course there is a line for everything. We bought our tickets before and couldn't go in right away because we had to wait in the same line as people buying tickets - we paid $6 extra on fandango buying the tickets early for this "privilege". There is also only one person selling drinks and food, so same long line. The theatre is filthy. This is clearly not the fault of staff, who are professional despite having two or three jobs each at any one time. This is a management issue. We live in Wheaton and we were so exited when this theatre opened up. This is our third time going, and we have been extremely disappointed each time. We keep coming back hoping the theatre owners/managers will improve the theatre so that it is simply run in an average way. Still waiting. read more

Probably the worst movie theater I've been to in the last 10 years. Dirty AF. The theater had clearly not been cleaned between shows. There was popcorn, grease, soda and trash all over the place. Piss-covered bathrooms. Random loud kids wandering in and out of the movie the entire time. And the most flavorless popcorn I've ever consumed. Avoid at all costs. read more

Ha - would never ever thought I'd come here, but totally forgot it's brand new! I came here to watch Deadpool 2 - this theater now has assigned soft reclining seats! Pretty cool, but don't be alarmed, the theater is small, but hey I didn't mind! Getting tickets here is so much cheaper than the bigger theaters by $3. The seats were huge and can recline a good amount. I knocked off 1 star because my seat at popcorn crumbs inside the crevices... wish they would at least try to swipe clean the seats. read more

I visited this ACM location for the first time over the weekend to see Red Sparrow. The theatre's have recently been redone, so the seating is very nice! You do also have the option of picking your seats when you buy your tickets, unfortunately for us only the front row was left (our fault for getting there last minute). I'll warn you, this isn't your typical old style theatre so the front row is THREE FEET from the screen, I do not recommend. There is a bar also located inside the theatre! I have only ever experienced this at iPic, so I was pleasantly surprised. Parking is a bit of a nightmare, but you always have the option of parking in the front and walking through the mall to get to the theatre as well. All in all, a decent experience! read more

Definitely loved the movie and popcorn and drinks, cleanliness of the theatre was great. The bathrooms unfortunately were disgusting, the floors and stalls had toilet paper and toilets clogged and bloody toilet paper in some. The floors were wet, so I was sliding around just trying to go to the bathroom. I didn't realize I had left my car keys in the bathroom stall until after I had walked out the doors and it was Around 11 so the doors were locked and phones weren't being picked up. So we stood there with our drinks from the movie, waiting for one of the staff to walk by so we could try and flag them down. We finally saw a heavy set young guy/girl couldn't tell, but we tried to wave them over to tell them I just needed to grab my keys and they shook their head and told us to leave with a wave of the hand as they walked away. So we had to wait for another customer to leave so I could run in and grab my keys. I understand it's the end of the night and you're tired. They didn't even have to open the door to ask us what was wrong, I could have told them through the door that I left my keys. read more

I'm guessing this place is under new management(again), because my last 2 experiences here were really nice. the food that is not popcorn is ok, but the staff is nice and attentive. i was having an issue receiving my e-mail confirmation of my tickets and the lady at the front was super nice and helped me out really quickly, no muss no fuss, the people at the food stations were patient with my hmmin' and hawin' and were also nice and friendly. the theatre was clean and the chairs were comfy, perfect for saturday afternoon/evening when it's hot out. i'll be back before summers end read more

I arrived at the theatre 5 minutes late than the scheduled movie 7:45pm tonight. And I saw a line of customers waiting outside. There were 4 -5 workers inside the theatre chatting away. What is the deal with this? There was no customer service whatsoever to let us know if it was temporarily closed due to emergency or? A few families left in frustration after some wait. I have never seems a theatre 'closed" while customers are waiting during the evening. read more

Be prepared to wait in line and be told that your movie is sold out and then go back through the line and be told the next movie you ask to see is also sold out. My cousin asked the rep if there were any movies not sold out and she responded no! The issue is there is no active way to determine which movies have been sold out and with less than stellar customer service we had to wait in line twice to be told that everything was sold out. The lines are long and there is only a single person ever at the counter to handle tickets even E tickets and the kiosks don't work! Bottom line is hire more enthused employees who are solution oriented. read more

Horrible! Waited in line for about 15 mins not once but twice! The first movie we inquired about we were told that it was sold out then following our second 15 min stint we were finally told all the movies were sold out AFTER we raised the question, "well what movie isn't sold out?" . Wouldn't this be vital information to share with your customers especially those with children? read more

Very convenient location. Love the seats and the Coke machine. I am an AMC A-List member and I have not many complaints about this location. Cheap matinees and $5 Ticket Tuesdays beats any other movie theater in this area. This completely beats Arclight Cinemas and Regals out of the water. The lines are not that long, but when they are the convenience of getting your own drinks and butter save a lot of time. My only drawbacks of this location it seems everything is miniature. Smaller screens, small bathrooms (only 5 toilets in the men's room), small number of theaters. At times the projection bulbs can seem a bit dim, colors a bit darker but not by much. read more

My new favorite movie theater. Big reclining red seats. There is a bar when you walk in that you can order drinks to take into the movies. Reasonable movie ticket prices. And if you are a stubs premiere member you can cut the lines for tickets and food. That has come in handy every time we go. read more

Went there last night for a showing of Ad Astra in theatre 5. Towards the end of the movie, a mouse appeared and ran across the length of the row before disappearing. I'm sure it's hard keeping a business like this pest free BUT let's make sure plenty of traps at set. Word of advice to customers, don't put your bags on the floor. read more

Girlfriends! What an amazing movie. I highly recommend watching this movie or any other movie at the AMC theater. Never before have I watched a movie in such comfortable, cozy, and reclining seats. The theater is large enough to accommodate quite a few different movies giving you good variety to select from. Oh, and your got to love the multi flavored Coca-Cola machine that offers you the chance to make your own beverage while grabbing anything from raisinets to popcorn chips and so much more. To my surprise, we were also able to use their automated machine to select the movie, determine how many tickets, what time and bam... print our tickets out on our own! This facility is a cutting-edge, clean, fun movie theater that even gives you a chance to get in a bit of shopping before or after catching an awesome flick. read more

This is a pretty bad experience. Yes, they have upgraded to the bigger seats that lean back, but in every other way, this is a lousy place for a movie. The lobby and theater were dirty, with popcorn and wrappers all over the floor. The overhead light closest to us in the theater didn't turn off during the movie, and it actually flickered on and off for about the first 20 minutes of the movie before staying the rest of the time. The door into the theater squeaked a lot, which you wouldn't think would be a problem, except that the audience was so restless than people came and went about 20 times. And while you can't blame the theater for obnoxious audience members who were on their phones, talking, etc., those factors don't help. By the way, we were watching, "Knives Out," so it wasn't like it was a movie where you would expect stupid, loud teens -- these were stupid, loud adults. read more

I'm so happy with the upgrades they made to this movie theater. The seats recline and super comfy, and each seat still has a good view of the screen. And this theater sells alcoholic drinks! If you want to order coffee (don't judge, I wanted to make sure I didn't fall asleep during the movie), it'll take like 15 minutes but isn't half bad. read more

Went this past weekend. I see mixed reviews, and I've only been once, but it was great. Seating is reserved, so you either pay a convenience fee online to get your seats early, or you go to the ticket line. We were going to the mall for dinner at Hollywood East, so we got the tickets before dinner and came back to the theater afterwards. Maybe our timing was good because the line was short. I haven't been to many movies in the past few years, but if this was the experience I can expect, I'll come more often. The large comfy reclining seats were so much better than the old style. The people working there were friendly, and we were happy to have an adult beverage while we watched. (From other reviews, it seems that the bar may not open until 5 pm.) This is the closest theater to us, so as long as they have the movies we're looking to see, we will definitely return. I'll preface this with: My wife has not had bad experiences here through 2 showings. However... Slow at the register, The ticket 'kiosks' to purchase the tickets without dealing with a person are in just about the worst possible location: in between the human manned registers. Our phone number, which my wife has used at least once successfully to log into the rewards program, failed. The person at the register said "no number exists". So it black magic that I got a members reward. My fault (the only fail on my part) was that I didn't think to get the tickets online. So the show we wanted to see had only 1 seat available. We choose the other possible show. Only seats were in the A or B aisle. OK, chose B. Seats were fairly comfortable. That is until I reclined it and the power failed with the chair in fully reclined. Not a doable proposition with my broken leg, to sit 2+ hours like that. A small plus is that I did not get too much complaint when I demanded my concessions refunded also. There was no way to take a full (or even an empty) large cup of soda in the car. No cup holder can hold that size in our vehicle. I will give them another try. Based on my wife's experiences, and the fact that they are also still in startup mode. (Although based on how well AMC Calverton did years after _their_ rebuild, I am not hopeful). read more

The reclining seats are everything, and although expensive, the food and snack options are of good quality. I wish they had more than one bathroom option. The space is nice and the theatre rooms are clean. The main area can get pretty dirty sometimes. overall, I frequent this spot and highly recommend. read more
