I came here for the first time with a group of friends this weekend, and we had a good time. Our group was in the back room with 3 pool tables mostly by ourselves the entire time, so I can't comment on the overall ambience of the rest of the place, but it seemed like a place where the other patrons would leave you alone to do your thing. For us, it was a positive experience in the back room: we were able to easily place our drink and food orders through the door to the bar, which all came out in decent time. I found the staff very friendly and responsive. When I asked for a yummy but strong drink, the bartender was more than happy to help. Has been my go-to for pool for the past few months even though $16/hour for a pool table seems a bit steep given the location. Drinks are decently priced but we typically do IPA's or shots so idk about the quality of their mixed drinks. We always eat before we come so I can't speak on food either. We've come so often that as soon as we walk in we always get a warm greeting from security and the bartenders, especially our favorite, Mary. We never have to wait long to hop on a table and they do a good job at checking on you in case you want to order something else. Overall the ambiance gives you a dive bar feel and the owners tend to watch you like a store owner that wants to make sure you're not stealing anything, but I'm used to those looks. Until I find a closer location with better prices, I'll continue to go back! read more

My friend and I just wanted a couple of drinks around 10:00, so we decided to see what our local (at the time) options were. As we were walking, I spotted a bar that had green decor on the outside, so it caught my attention, of course. From outside we could see a lot of pool tables inside, and when we got close we heard some appealing music. We decided to stop in and were amazed at how large it is! To the right, there's a door that goes to a rather spacious outdoor area which must be awesome during the day or a peak summer night. The bar is rather large, and there are plenty of high tables near it if it happens to be full. The pool tables are abundant, but I don't know whether they're free or if you have to pay for them. The music was a mix of top 40 and some Spanish tunes. Anyways, a pair of seats freed up just as we approached, so we sat down and immediately got taken care of. The environment was VERY "bar"... the bar seats all had tears in them, and there was beer everywhere hahaha. It was clean though. They have quite an abundant menu of $5 all day specials, which are great! Some of the choices are Malibu, Johnny Red, Jack Honey and Captain Morgan. These specials seem to be on top of the happy hour they already have which exists until 7:00 PM. We got a few drinks... they weren't the strongest ones that I have had, but they were decent. As a young woman who likes the occasional game of billiards on a Sunday afternoon, I can honestly say I FINALLY have found a chill and comfortable place to do so in the DMV area. Legends is great. The customers all seem to be very nice and keep to themselves; just there for a good time. I have now been there around 5 times and each experience was the equally great! The tables are around 10$ an hour and the drinks are cheap. The Sunday bartender is polite, fast and takes good care of the customers. I took a look at the menu and unfortunately it is all fried foods or sandwiches, but honestly, what do you expect at a pool hall? I am just happy they serve food at all. There is a megatouch for music and a couple arcade games as well as an outdoor fenced in smoking patio. I am not sure if this would be a place I would hit up on a busy weekend night and get the same experience however Sundays at Legends are an absolute pleasure. read more

A dive bar in every sense of the term. It has typically dull food and a lack of imagination in the food and drink menus. The tables are good, the cues are straight. But the place is ridiculously expensive for what it is. But what makes this place I will NEVER visit again is the fact that they use pepper spray on customers that become unruly and the spray permeates the air in the entire building. It appears to be a regular tactic that they use frequently as told by one of the bartenders during our one and only time there. If you have respiratory concerns you might want to find another place. read more

This place is an average bar with simple needs such as pool tables, bar area and some eating tables. We only came here for the pool tables. We came here on a Saturday night around 8pm. We went to Master8 Billiards off of University BLVD, however it was so loud there. Not sure how people can play pool when there is loud music speakers playing close to your ears. We then decided to go to Legends. It was definitely better here! For a group of 3 people, the going rate for the 3 pool players is $16 per hour. They pro rate if you go above or below this rate. They had plenty of pool sticks, chalk. The tables were in decent shape, but could use a little face lift in the future. Otherwise, this place is good for friends to hang out and play pool. I haven't tried their food before so I can't rate on that. Definitely great hang out spot for friends to play pool. They do have a sign that says only 21+ can enter. So be sure to have your IDs ready for inspection. read more

I like this spot but it was slow getting our drinks and stuff we had to go back to the bar couple of times to get our drink. It was weird how they said they don't do drinks like Irish trash can . Meaning they don't do mixed drinks . But they ended up doing mixed drinks with vodka and Pina juice . They have pool tables here and people who works here are nice. This place is OK for playing pool because it's cheap. The menu selection is poor quality It seems as though everything is frozen thawed off and then cook when I order the chicken wings are OK and the fries but that's about it. They have a jukebox you put money in and then make your song selection if you stay longer enough to hear it because everyone plays so don't waste your money save it for one of the measure drinks don't expect to get any extra liquor you drink they measured everything. They make sure that you're 21 in order to enter which is good but they don't monitor how much you drink so good luck hopefully you go there with some responsible friends and make sure one of them is sober. They also have lottery available while you're sitting at the bar bored out your mind you could play Keno or Powerball. What can I say the inside of the restaurant billiard room whatever it's called need to make over the carpet is dirty and it's very smelly soon as you enter. They have a little patio area if you want to grab a smoke you can go out and enjoy yourself. The bathrooms are all falling apart so I tip ladies have a little baby wipes in your pocketbook when going to be a restroom and please don't sit directly on the toilet squat and aim and hopefully you make it but make sure you check before you go in if they have toilet paper available soap to wash your hands afterwards you know if you care about hygiene. They have some nice server working there at times. If you don't mind how the restaurant smells the interior looking they have some really cheap happy hour drinks I'm sure you would enjoy like Hennessey for $5 Patron shots $5 domestic beer I believe it's like $2 etc. read more

*Disclaimer* I didn't play pool or eat any of the food. I stopped in here for a drink. It's a pretty big place with a dive bar atmosphere, ripped chairs, dark atmosphere, etc. First thing I noticed was the bartenders were all attractive women and the clientele were mostly men (just an observation). The bartenders were lovely girls. The bar was packed so getting my drink was a little slow but other than that it was decent. I was a little hungry so I wanted some food but the serve had to go find a menu? They seemed to only have one menu and the things on the menu are basic fried bar stuff (chicken fingers, calamari, etc.). I decided not to order any food. I live right around the corner, and I really want to it be a better place. The pool is a little on the pricey side ($7/hr) if you are shooting by yourself, but drops to a more reasonable $10/hr if you are splitting it with someone else. The mixed drinks aren't too pricey, but they use those measuring dispensers so you are always assured of getting a crappy, weak, mixed drink. On the positive side, the pool tables are in good condition and there always seems to be sports on the numerous TV's. read more

Well, the drinks are affordable and although the bar staff doesn't know what they are doing (a Seven-and-Seven totally confused them) they are nice and try hard. It is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside, with several tables and plenty of space for players. If you want a rough joint with no real danger this is a good choice. read more

Legends is a "good time, friendly" bar/pool hall, with plenty of space, about nine pool tables and it sort of reminds me of a neighborhood "Cheers type place" where everybody knows your name. It is open late every night like till 1:30 AM, and 2:45 AM on weekends. Drinks are very reasonable and the food is good "basic bar food" The bar staff is the coolest, and best in Montgomery County, Maryland! Definitely the best spot in Wheaton!! read more

If you are looking for a chill, local spot, this place is great. Nothing fancy, so go with good people and it's pretty big. I went on a Friday night for the first time and they had a decent list of drink specials for $5. I stuck with Jack Daniel's. I don't know if that is every Friday though. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. I got my drinks quickly and they will even bring them to your pool table. I went with 6 friends, we played pool for a few hours ($14 an hour)--stayed until they closed. The music was mixed. We heard everything from Taylor Swift to Michael Jackson to Migos. Food was average, not bad but with some drinks, it gets the job done. We just got fries and pizza. Good place for a night out with friends. read more

God, this place is a hole. A few drunk weirdos lurking around. No normal folks or couples. The food was actually ok but no beer on tap, just Bud and other domestic stuff. The worst was the waitresses. They couldn't be bothered to stop texting and come from around the bar. The one who thinks she's Elvira Mistress of the Dark had a ton of attitude. Everything was one word answers and she walks around with a permanent scowl. I love it when restaurants feel like they don't need to have customer service. Do not go here !! The bartenders are high or drunk. They forget your order and they will charge you double or other people's tab. We had proof that we had already paid for our table yet because the bartenders were too drunk to realize what we were showing them or telling them they refused to let us go. We took them to court.
