Ipic is my fave movie theater chain! I love the class and decor. Took me a while to figure out parking there as a newbie here literally to a point where I was "too late to enter the movie" by 1 minute to be exact (16mins I think it was). I was truly pissed and had to come back another day! A movie theater should not do this I drove so far just for the theater brand and management didn't do anything caring. If ppl are late it should be their choice to miss previews or movie parts or not especially on a week day afternoon where it's not packed so not disturbing. I tried the bison burger and it was different not really a fan of the taste whatever sauce they put maybe I'm not sure but I know bison is healthier. The fries were great. The bathroom was gorgeous but they need stronger toilet air freshener someone blew the huge bathroom up unbearably so. The bar was cute & had a patio. Totally would return if incentivized. read more

NEVER AGAIN. My family of 5 went to see the new Spider Man: Brand New Day movie (highly recommend it) at IPIC. We've been to this IPIC theater many times over the years. What started off as a good experience has progressively gotten worst. It started with slower service and missing blankets which is a major part of the experience. Given the size of our family, we would review the menu online on our way to the theater. We noticed the menu was no longer posted on the website. FIRST RED FLAG. We get to the theater and ask the front desk about the missing menu. They informed us that the menu has a limited number of items now. At that point, we should have asked for a refund but we were already there and the items we wanted were still on the menu. The blankets were missing again. After 15 minutes or so into the movie, the waiter comes to get our order and types it into his phone (why is it not just being entered directly into the system?).....Our food arrives first and then the food for our pre-teens/teens. The food was awful....from the barely cooked mozzarella sticks to the messy boss burgers and crispy cold fries. The only good thing was the large refreshing soda.........All for the exorbitant price we could have paid for a much better dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in the area. I saw a movie at IPIC in North Bethesda this past weekend when I was at Pike & Rose. IPIC is definitely not for those on a budget. This isn't a discount theater (do those even exist anymore?). IPIC is definitely a luxury movie theater chain. The leather recliner chairs are comfortable, each with a blanket waiting for you. They have a full menu of food and drinks that you can order by pressing the button on the table between pairs of recliner chairs. I enjoyed my movie - I enjoyed it even more because I was in a recliner chair, under a blanket, sipping on sparkling rosé wine, and eating some Skittles (skittles and rosé is such a great movie theater pairing). It's a great place to see a movie if you're in the area and want a truly relaxing experience. read more

I came to this theater for the first time last month and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Tickets are costly at $21 per ticket. You are instructed to arrive 15 mins prior or doors for the show will close. I didn't want the traditional popcorn so I ordered the Turkey sliders that came with fries and some lavender drink that was delicious and refreshing! This is the only reason why I came to write this review because if the drink wasn't $16, I would have ordered several for a 2.5 hour movie lol. Parking is complimentary for 3.5 hours with your ticket QR code. Bathrooms are clean and service during the show was prompt. Will return but has to be for an extra special movie at that costs of $100+ sheesh lol. read more

I came in today, 8/17 at the Bethesda MD location to purchase a ticket for a 10:45 showing of "one night only". There was nobody at the check-in counter. When I walked up to the podium where tickets are scanned, There was an employee and someone who appeared to be the manager. I was told I need to buy a ticket online because the systems were down. When I checked online, it said expired for the showing because it was now past 10:45. The extra time wasted by not having any signage clearly displayed and the manager's lack of problem solving as well as not having any service members at the front desk prevented me from viewing a movie. When I told the manager that im still willing to pay for a later date ticket and order food today so that money is still made off me as the customer just so I could watch it tonight, he said that was not possible. He then ignored me, didn't apologize and went back to what he was doing and said he couldn't help me. From a business standpoint- why would you turn away a customer for a technical issue in such a rude way. You need to find a workaround solution that benefits the customer and the business. The movie is going to play regardless, and instead of having another seat filled and revenue made, I was turned away because he couldn't think of any accommodation. Instead of me ordering food and the location making $50 off my visit tonight, I walked away, spent $0 there and went to a nearby theater to watch the same movie. This manager has to go if this location wants to thrive, the gross incompetence will lead to its collapse. There was an easy workaround here and I was met with horrible service. As someone who is a regular and visits this theater 5X monthly, at least $250 in monthly revenue will be lost tonight. I will never be back. It felt as if I was coming up with more logical solutions than the man who is in charge of managing the location. I will need a follow up to this complaint. Lost customers like this is the main reason why bankruptcy for the Ipic chain was filed this year, revenue will continue to decline. read more

Going to try to crank out one review today as I monitor work emails. Continuing my alphabet series onto the letter I representing prior to 2018 is I is for iPic theater and also the 2014 movie, Interstellar! I've been here twice in November 2014 & November 2023. Funny both times were in the month of November, but 9 years apart. November 2014: I was living in northern VA, and I received free tickets to see Interstellar as this theater had recently opened. My impression in 2014 and still holds true today is that this is the nicest theater I had ever been to. Some theaters have reclining seats, but these are large and you get a blanket if you want. There were some good food options, granted overpriced for what you got, were tasty. I brought a date for those movie showing and paid for our food. I got a burger, and she got a flatbread pizza. Burger was good as I recall. 2017 to coming back here in November 2023: I moved to Maryland in 2017, Wheaton 2017-2020, so wasn't too far from Pike & Rose and did go there sometimes. However, in 2018 I became an AMC A-Lister, so I just go there unless there's a free advanced screening or specific movie I really want to see at Egyptian Cinemark or a Regal that isn't at AMC. In November 2023, iPic held an advanced screening of the Netflix movie, Leave the World Behind. I had 4 tickets, invited several friends. There was a woman I liked who had agreed to go initially, but had an issue with someone else who had promptly responded she would go. Incidentally, the woman who I liked became my girlfriend in February 2024, so it worked out well. Shortly after that she buried the hatchet with that mutual friend. As for the movie screening, while not as great as Interstellar, it was still the same positive experience I remembered from 9 years earlier. Things were chaotic as we were trying to get the food & drink, which was included, but we had to check on the food during the middle of the movie, and I missed the very beginning of the movie as a lot of people did. There was quite a bit of time beforehand, but even with the delays occurring, they should've started the movie late unless there was some late movie showing in that particular theater at 10 PM or something. In summary, this is a very nice theater in spite of a couple of flaws. read more

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly I love the IPIC theaters, they give an intimate atmosphere for watching a good movie, with food service directly to your seat when in a premium seat. On this day, I decided to go see the latest Captain America Movie: Brave New World. There were a few open seats, and I selected one towards the front. The seats are in pairs, so my seat mate was an unknown person. I signaled to one of their ninjas, what they call their waitstaff, that I wanted to order someone and he assumed I was "with" the gentleman next to me, but I stated that I was not. Unfortunately, my seat mate was not ready to order yet. Twenty minutes later, he was ready and caught the attention of one of the attendant, they said they'd send someone. Time passed, and no one came, he even hit the call button and still no one arrived to help take his order. Finally, he was able to get the attention of someone else on the waitstaff. So they were able to get his order. The Good ---The movie was excellent, the blanket helped me get comfortable. Coupled with the surrounding sound, it was perfect for an action movie. I enjoyed my truffle fries and my mixed drink, they were delicious. The Bad -- My seat mate was given his check and he paid for what he thought were his items. I waited and waited, and still I was not presented with my check. When they did provide me with my check, it was incorrect and was in fact my seat mate's check. He apparently was provided with my check, unknowingly paying for me. The Ugly --There was mass confusion, they thought we were together, even though we had previously stated we were separate and just seat mates. We called to their attention the mistake, and they then worked to resolve the matter. We were told some seats were broken, so patrons were not able to book all seats, so it sounds like they need to repair some seats. The Solution & Resolution -- the manager decided to refund my seat mate his money and to comp (provide for free) both checks. All was good once we departed. read more

I've been to this Ipic quite a few times - and everytime I go, I'm reminded why my visits are limited. I usually grab a couple of premium seats for $23 which is a shockingly high price for a movie. The alternative are their more general seats where are located in the front two rows of the theater. While pricey, the seats are comfy and allow you to recline and enjoy the show. I also like how we can reserve seating ahead of time; makes it very easy to set yourself up for a quick arrival process. I appreciate their wide variety of food and drink options - they essentially have a full restaurant menu available to guests. On my most recent visit I had the BBQ wings + nachos. Both were about $18-$20 each which I would consider pretty pricey for the quality. The wings were good, but would've been great if they had been crispier. The nachos had good flavor, but were really hard to eat in the dim lighting of the movie (poor choice on my part). We also found that our chips on the bottom of the plate were pretty soggy. They have lots of drink options, which in my opinion, are very fairly priced. Take your pick of beers, wine, or spirits. The servers do a good job of coming around quickly and frequently and don't disrupt the movie as they serve guests. On my most recent trip, I didn't receive the popcorn that I ordered - one associate quickly corrected our bill and made sure we were paying for the correct items. Overall, a nice experience to try every once in a while - but the food isn't good enough for the price point and the level of comfort isn't worth the ticket price. I'll likely be back with a group for a movie, but it's not the sort of theater I'd suggest as a top option to go to. read more

I went to the Pike & Rose iPic this Friday (Theater 3) and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Everything started off fine when I ordered my food, but then I noticed a mouse running around not once, but twice. That completely ruined the night. I immediately asked for a refund, and while they offered free movie tickets, it didn't make up for what happened. I usually take photos or videos for proof, but honestly, I was so disappointed I just left. A night that was supposed to be enjoyable turned into a waste of time and a long drive for nothing. I had an amazing date night at IPIC. Due to the cost, I would not make IPIC my choice to see any movie. For a date night it was the perfect option, and I had a memorable experience. Immediately the vibe when you enter IPIC is pure luxury. It feels like you are attending a movie premiere. Since it was my first time visiting, I went to the front desk to ask what to do. They scanned my ticket barcode and told my what theater my movie was playing in. I purchased a Premium ticket which includes table service and a more comfortable reclining chair. I was impressed with how cushioned the chairs are and how much it reclined back. Certainly, it felt like a premium experience. As this was a date night, I went all out with ordering food and drinks. I ordered the Espresso Martini with Ketel One vodka, french fries, and the fajita quesadilla made vegan. My date shared my food and also ordered an Old Fashioned and a Margarita. My Espresso Martini was DELICIOUS! It was shaken so well it had a nice layer of foam on the top. It was just the right amount of sweetness, and I downed it pretty quickly. I tried my dates's drinks and was not the biggest fan of those. The Old Fashioned had too much cinnamon flavor for me and I thought the Margarita tasted a little too skinny and wished it had more citrus flavor. The french fries were an outstanding portion size! Definitely large enough to share. The fajita quesadilla with vegan cheese was also a winner. The guacamole on the side was not my favorite but the peppers and onions in the quesadilla more than made up for that. This meal was also really easy to eat in the dark theater. Everything in the quesadilla held up well so there was no concern about seeing salsa stains on your outfit once the lights came back on. I really appreciate the server being knowledgeable about the vegan options. If he did not know an answer to a question, he would radio the kitchen and let me know quickly what could and could not be made vegan. Additionally, the servers never walked in front of you during the movie. There are so many aisles in the premium seating section that they will always pop up next to you and never obstruct your view of the movie. Something that was convenient when paying for everything at the end was that gratuity was included in the bill. While my date and I spent a pretty penny, it was nice not having to do math to calculate a tip and we could just sign the receipt and leave. This data night was so fun, and I am excited to come back to do it again. I really appreciate how vegan-friendly the menu is and how the theater setup lends itself to giving the average person a celebrity experience. read more

This is one of my 2 favorite theaters in the area. I love the "dine in" option because it kills two birds with one stone. They have a pretty good sized menu of soft drinks, wine, cocktails, and beer. The food options are also good. My favorite is the filet mignon sliders and truffle fries with an espresso martini. I usually get this every time, but the other food items are good as well. The staff is really helpful and they do their best not to disrupt the movie when they bring out your food, drinks and receipt. The seats are comfortable enough and they also provide you a blanket to use which is nice. Especially because the seats are either leather or faux leather and can be a little cold to the touch. I love getting to this theater as early as possible to see a film. Get the restaurant quality food, outstanding drinks (I always get a Norma Jean in a shaker), great pizzas, and world-class hot buttered popcorn. The popcorn is my favorite outside of fresh Garrett's in Chicago. Warm, salty, buttery, and always freshly popped. The drinks are so good that the shaker with enough for four low-ball glass drinks is well worth it. The nachos are not typically movie theater kind with cheap chips and lukewarm yellow goop cheese. These are crisp with the perfect amount of fresh melty cheese and toppings. With service directly to your seat all by just pressing a button. You will not miss having to go to the lobby to get yourself a snack (that is an option you may use too). No more too long concession line with over priced Icee and candy. I advocate getting there early so you can enjoy the food while the lights are on. Once the movie starts I cannot see the food. That's great for popcorn or drinks, but for any food you want to see it will be damn near impossible even when the movie is bright. The theater itself is luxurious. I go for the seats in the back with the recliners and tables. I like that there are two seats together then space. Social distancing is the plus. It is cool that IPIC gives you warm blankets. Movie-going is a joy here. The prices are higher than regular theaters but the quality is way above. $22 ticket, $8 popcorn, $16 nachos, and $39 for a four drink cocktail shaker. Given that these days only three or four movies I wish to see come out a year, the value is there. They validate garage parking, the bathrooms are the cleanest ever for a theater, and there is a wonderful bar/restaurant on the same level for pre or post revelry. I held a group event here to watch the new release of Wicked and also enjoy drinks and food. It seemed like a really good idea, right? I'm still searching for a movie theater that has good food. I did order their chocolate bourbon drink in it was good although missing the traditional bourbon cube I was informed it would contain. The fries are crispy and I appreciate that. I did go with the burger I was told it was good and it didn't disappoint but it also wasn't great. I think the fact I couldn't see my food as I was eating gave them some cred because I didn't notice the burnt cheese as I use my flashlight to make sure there was nothing off putting about it before I took my first bite. The seating is comfortable and I like their service which allowed me to order my large unsalted butter popcorn and have it brung to me instead of me going out multiple times to check to see if it was done. I typically bring my own blanket with me to the movies because it's usually cold but this theater was not although they did provide a blanket along with leather reclining seats. They will make your dish to go if you ask so that might be good if you don't think you can finish your meal. I also tried the pink velvet cake and the way it was described seemed very yummy. I guess it's easy to make multiple cakes in a cupcake pan or small cake pan or whatever they call it but that made the outside very chewy and hard like a brownie and I didn't like that at all. The fresh raspberry we're nice and the frosting was good as well and not too sweet. I intended to try both of their wicked inspired drinks but decided to only have the chocolate bourbon. read more

I kept hearing about this place and decided to finally check it out. To start off with, the parking is pretty accessible. There's a garage right next to the theater and it's free for the first two hours and there's a fee starting after that. Once you walk in, you'll go up the escalators and see a front desk where you'll check in and get the theatre information. One thing to mention is the bathrooms were very nice and clean! We walked over to our theatre and found a blanket on our seats. On the table next to it was a QR code to order food/drinks and a button to reach the server. We didn't order any food this time so that will be on my list next. The only qualm I have is because the theatre is small with the seats close together, the sound carries and you can hear each person's conversation. I also think it would be better for the waiters to time when they come out because hearing "last call" multiple times during the movie was distracting. The proverbial "if I could give zero stars I would" holds true for this theater. I have been going to IPIC for years and it is finally on the "never again" list. It has really gone down hill. There was nothing good or redeeming about our experience. Let's start with the ludicrous check in process. You pre-purchase your tickets and they give you an Apple wallet pass. When you get off the elevator there is a clear path to the theaters with a person standing at a podium. However, don't you dare go directly to this person. You need to go check in at the ticket booth so they can give you paper tickets. Then you go back to the podium to show them the paper tickets and go to your theater. It wouldn't be that annoying if every single person didn't do this unnecessary round trip. I watched six families lug their children up and back while standing there. Put up a sign. State this absurd process in the email. Next the service. They include a required 18% gratuity on the bill. For good reason. They would have gotten none if it was discretionary. We were in our seats fifteen minutes before the movie start. Nobody took our order until fifteen minutes into the movie. Food didn't show up until two thirds of the way through the movie. Why spend several hundred dollars to take your kids to dinner and a movie if you don't get dinner and a movie. The people two seats over never got their food. The check never came. I had to ask for the check after the lights were on and credits over. Super annoying when sitting there with three kids under 7. Now the food, barely edible is being generous. It tasted like every item had been submerged in a bucket of grease before, during, and after cooking. I now know what the penguins at an oil spill feel like. Horrible. Was one of the 13 theaters my wife and I saw the Taylor Swift Eras Tour movie last year. The food and drinks were quite good but nothing special for the film like others. The seats in the back cost more and recline compared to the classic ones up front. The staff is friendly but price is a bit steep. It is a small theater that is well spaced out so you get a good view of the screen. Wouldn't mind returning but definitely prefer Alamo Drafthouse. read more

This was my first time at an IPIC location! Located inside pike&rose you take a quick escalator upstairs and are greeted by two attendants who check you in and offer you a fuzzy blanket! We did not have the upgraded tickets so we were sat within the first 3 rows. The seats did not recline and if I were to return I would buy the more comfortable reclining seats. Each seat came with a tray and was decently comfortable. We ordered drinks and popcorn from the bar, it's a little pricey but that's standard for movie theaters. The drinks were strong and the popcorn was good! Overall I'd recommend IPIC and will be back (in the premium seats next time). UPDATE: we came here to watch the Book of Clarence and I really was better off going to my local theater. Although, reasonably priced, I realize that it's not worth the drive..at all. I ordered the nachos grande because it looked pretty decent the last time we came but it was very cold; I am sure it was sitting out because we had to ask the waiter about the status and poof our food came out. Visited iPic on Valentine's Day. The movie (Crime 101) was phenomenal. However, the service was essentially nonexistent. We were seated in Theater 1, seats G1 and G2, and our service buzzer was not working. We flagged down a server, explained the issue, and were told someone would come over to help us place our order. That never happened. We sat through the movie hungry and ignored with no follow-up. For a theater that markets itself as a luxury experience, this level of service is unacceptable. Premium pricing should come with basic attentiveness and accountability. Management should be aware of situations like this so they can be addressed in real time, not after the fact. Great film. Overall it is an elevated experience with the recliner chairs. A few of them do need to be updated as they are getting old, you hear the gears going. Staff is verify friendly and overall a clean area. With many movie theaters moving towards this experience, it might lag behind soon enough, as of today, a great option to watch a movie at. Love the cushy recliner and the plush blanket that makes it feel as if you are watching from the comfort of your living room, except my living room doesn't have the giant screen, the attentive wait staff, and the great food that they serve here! The food is coming from the City Perch restaurant so definitely not your typical crappy movie theatre food. My favorite is the truffle fries, I can inhale those all day. They also serve wine and cocktails. Prices are obviously more than your regular movie theater (both for tickets and food), but oh, so much better experience! We had nachos which admittedly were a bit hard to eat (maybe next time we should ask for small plates, too) but very generous portions and delicious. I went to see a movie at ipic. The seats were comfortable. The host was very kind and gave excellent food recommendations. I had the shrimp scampi pizza which is only around til September 30th. It was 10/10 amazing. It should be an all year round menu option. I would go back just for the pizza. I also had the filet mignon sliders which were too chewy. It came with fries which were decent but lukewarm. My overall experience was great. I also love that ipic validates parking for up to 3.5 hours so you have plenty of time to enjoy your movie without having to rush out. I went to ipic to see a film I have been waiting to see. Unfortunately my experience was ruined by a mouse running around the theater. Luckily I saw the mouse before the movie and before I ordered my food. I immediately left and requested my money back. Management apologized and provided the refund. I do hope the rodent issue is corrected in the future because I really enjoyed my past experiences at this theater. read more

Hello Yelpers!!! It's Easter! When my cousin told me about IPIC first thing I said was what the heck is that. Then she mentioned it was a movie theatre and you could also order food. So I went in the website to take a look and I was so impressed. We purchased our tickets online and wayyyy in advance. We got there and luckily there was no traffic. We purchased tickets for Super Mario. Got into the theatre and I was amazed as to how nice it looked and also organized. We ordered 2 cocktails, 2 cheese pizza which were tasty, 1 Adult Burger and 1 kids burger, Cheese Nachos, 1 Large popcorn and 1 small popcorn. Everything was just perfect. We bought the seats that come with tables. I mean the experience was everything. We went with the kids and boy did they have a good time. I did not take any pictures. I had the pleasure of accompanying, a friend, to the Billions HU Private Prescreening of Black Panther II "Wakanda Forever" and what a time was had. We arrived at 8:15 to enjoy complimentary specialty premium cocktails open bar curated for the movie. I had the Killmonger which was a mixed drink featuring Dussé with a fresh rosemary garnish. I also tried the Wakanda which was a Patron Reposado margarita drink garnished with fresh Mint. Both were exquisitely mixed and tasted delicious. We had a few appetizers and made our way to the theater where we were greeted with a Moët champagne toast in memory of, Chad Boseman. Before the show started, we received popcorn, one dish from the menu, water and a candy selection. This event was perfect. I ordered the steak quesadilla and the impossible burger. Both were prepared perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. iPic is by far one of the best movie theaters around. They make you feel like you're at home and that's what keeps me coming back every time. I definitely enjoyed myself and can't wait to see what else Billions HU has in store. read more

Such a cool spot. Comfortable seating and low-lit ambiance with a large menu of food and drinks.

The theater is very beautiful and clean. However it was extremely cold. At check-in everyone that was in line ahead of me was able to receive a blanket when I asked for one I was told that one would be at my seat. When I got to my seat, there were no blankets available. I asked our server for one and I was told that there was a shortage with the cleaning service and I may not be able to get one. Yet almost everyone in the movie theater had a blanket except for me and I guess. After placing order for pretzels and a glass of wine, I was then told a $75 hold plus a 18% gratuity had to be placed on my card that wouldn't be refunded for a few days. I was offered the option to cash out right away, but I was extremely turned off after hearing that. I will not be returning to the movie theater. It was extremely overpriced I don't think it was worth the money. read more
