I saw a movie at IPIC in North Bethesda this past weekend when I was at Pike & Rose. IPIC is definitely not for those on a budget. This isn't a discount theater (do those even exist anymore?). IPIC is definitely a luxury movie theater chain. The leather recliner chairs are comfortable, each with a blanket waiting for you. They have a full menu of food and drinks that you can order by pressing the button on the table between pairs of recliner chairs. I enjoyed my movie - I enjoyed it even more because I was in a recliner chair, under a blanket, sipping on sparkling rosé wine, and eating some Skittles (skittles and rosé is such a great movie theater pairing). It's a great place to see a movie if you're in the area and want a truly relaxing experience.

I came to this theater for the first time last month and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Tickets are costly at $21 per ticket. You are instructed to arrive 15 mins prior or doors for the show will close. I didn't want the traditional popcorn so I ordered the Turkey sliders that came with fries and some lavender drink that was delicious and refreshing! This is the only reason why I came to write this review because if the drink wasn't $16, I would have ordered several for a 2.5 hour movie lol. Parking is complimentary for 3.5 hours with your ticket QR code. Bathrooms are clean and service during the show was prompt. Will return but has to be for an extra special movie at that costs of $100+ sheesh lol.

Going to try to crank out one review today as I monitor work emails. Continuing my alphabet series onto the letter I representing prior to 2018 is I is for iPic theater and also the 2014 movie, Interstellar! I've been here twice in November 2014 & November 2023. Funny both times were in the month of November, but 9 years apart. November 2014: I was living in northern VA, and I received free tickets to see Interstellar as this theater had recently opened. My impression in 2014 and still holds true today is that this is the nicest theater I had ever been to. Some theaters have reclining seats, but these are large and you get a blanket if you want. There were some good food options, granted overpriced for what you got, were tasty. I brought a date for those movie showing and paid for our food. I got a burger, and she got a flatbread pizza. Burger was good as I recall. 2017 to coming back here in November 2023: I moved to Maryland in 2017, Wheaton 2017-2020, so wasn't too far from Pike & Rose and did go there sometimes. However, in 2018 I became an AMC A-Lister, so I just go there unless there's a free advanced screening or specific movie I really want to see at Egyptian Cinemark or a Regal that isn't at AMC. In November 2023, iPic held an advanced screening of the Netflix movie, Leave the World Behind. I had 4 tickets, invited several friends. There was a woman I liked who had agreed to go initially, but had an issue with someone else who had promptly responded she would go. Incidentally, the woman who I liked became my girlfriend in February 2024, so it worked out well. Shortly after that she buried the hatchet with that mutual friend. As for the movie screening, while not as great as Interstellar, it was still the same positive experience I remembered from 9 years earlier. Things were chaotic as we were trying to get the food & drink, which was included, but we had to check on the food during the middle of the movie, and I missed the very beginning of the movie as a lot of people did. There was quite a bit of time beforehand, but even with the delays occurring, they should've started the movie late unless there was some late movie showing in that particular theater at 10 PM or something. In summary, this is a very nice theater in spite of a couple of flaws.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly I love the IPIC theaters, they give an intimate atmosphere for watching a good movie, with food service directly to your seat when in a premium seat. On this day, I decided to go see the latest Captain America Movie: Brave New World. There were a few open seats, and I selected one towards the front. The seats are in pairs, so my seat mate was an unknown person. I signaled to one of their ninjas, what they call their waitstaff, that I wanted to order someone and he assumed I was "with" the gentleman next to me, but I stated that I was not. Unfortunately, my seat mate was not ready to order yet. Twenty minutes later, he was ready and caught the attention of one of the attendant, they said they'd send someone. Time passed, and no one came, he even hit the call button and still no one arrived to help take his order. Finally, he was able to get the attention of someone else on the waitstaff. So they were able to get his order. The Good ---The movie was excellent, the blanket helped me get comfortable. Coupled with the surrounding sound, it was perfect for an action movie. I enjoyed my truffle fries and my mixed drink, they were delicious. The Bad -- My seat mate was given his check and he paid for what he thought were his items. I waited and waited, and still I was not presented with my check. When they did provide me with my check, it was incorrect and was in fact my seat mate's check. He apparently was provided with my check, unknowingly paying for me. The Ugly --There was mass confusion, they thought we were together, even though we had previously stated we were separate and just seat mates. We called to their attention the mistake, and they then worked to resolve the matter. We were told some seats were broken, so patrons were not able to book all seats, so it sounds like they need to repair some seats. The Solution & Resolution -- the manager decided to refund my seat mate his money and to comp (provide for free) both checks. All was good once we departed.

I love getting to this theater as early as possible to see a film. Get the restaurant quality food, outstanding drinks (I always get a Norma Jean in a shaker), great pizzas, and world-class hot buttered popcorn. The popcorn is my favorite outside of fresh Garrett's in Chicago. Warm, salty, buttery, and always freshly popped. The drinks are so good that the shaker with enough for four low-ball glass drinks is well worth it. The nachos are not typically movie theater kind with cheap chips and lukewarm yellow goop cheese. These are crisp with the perfect amount of fresh melty cheese and toppings. With service directly to your seat all by just pressing a button. You will not miss having to go to the lobby to get yourself a snack (that is an option you may use too). No more too long concession line with over priced Icee and candy. I advocate getting there early so you can enjoy the food while the lights are on. Once the movie starts I cannot see the food. That's great for popcorn or drinks, but for any food you want to see it will be damn near impossible even when the movie is bright. The theater itself is luxurious. I go for the seats in the back with the recliners and tables. I like that there are two seats together then space. Social distancing is the plus. It is cool that IPIC gives you warm blankets. Movie-going is a joy here. The prices are higher than regular theaters but the quality is way above. $22 ticket, $8 popcorn, $16 nachos, and $39 for a four drink cocktail shaker. Given that these days only three or four movies I wish to see come out a year, the value is there. They validate garage parking, the bathrooms are the cleanest ever for a theater, and there is a wonderful bar/restaurant on the same level for pre or post revelry. Enjoy this five star movie theater in the heart of Pike and Rose.

I held a group event here to watch the new release of Wicked and also enjoy drinks and food. It seemed like a really good idea, right? I'm still searching for a movie theater that has good food. I did order their chocolate bourbon drink in it was good although missing the traditional bourbon cube I was informed it would contain. The fries are crispy and I appreciate that. I did go with the burger I was told it was good and it didn't disappoint but it also wasn't great. I think the fact I couldn't see my food as I was eating gave them some cred because I didn't notice the burnt cheese as I use my flashlight to make sure there was nothing off putting about it before I took my first bite. The seating is comfortable and I like their service which allowed me to order my large unsalted butter popcorn and have it brung to me instead of me going out multiple times to check to see if it was done. I typically bring my own blanket with me to the movies because it's usually cold but this theater was not although they did provide a blanket along with leather reclining seats. They will make your dish to go if you ask so that might be good if you don't think you can finish your meal. I also tried the pink velvet cake and the way it was described seemed very yummy. I guess it's easy to make multiple cakes in a cupcake pan or small cake pan or whatever they call it but that made the outside very chewy and hard like a brownie and I didn't like that at all. The fresh raspberry we're nice and the frosting was good as well and not too sweet. I intended to try both of their wicked inspired drinks but decided to only have the chocolate bourbon.

I kept hearing about this place and decided to finally check it out. To start off with, the parking is pretty accessible. There's a garage right next to the theater and it's free for the first two hours and there's a fee starting after that. Once you walk in, you'll go up the escalators and see a front desk where you'll check in and get the theatre information. One thing to mention is the bathrooms were very nice and clean! We walked over to our theatre and found a blanket on our seats. On the table next to it was a QR code to order food/drinks and a button to reach the server. We didn't order any food this time so that will be on my list next. The only qualm I have is because the theatre is small with the seats close together, the sound carries and you can hear each person's conversation. I also think it would be better for the waiters to time when they come out because hearing "last call" multiple times during the movie was distracting. Besides that I enjoyed having the warm blanket and can see myself coming back!

Ask the Community - IPIC North Bethesda

    How is parking?

There is street parking (minimal) and a parking garage directly underneath theater. The parking garage elevator takes you to the theater.

If you get the signature show drink you also get to keep the souvenir cup. For this show, it was a cream sickle that you could either get with alcohol or without. The music venue is located below the Hamilton, a storied dining experience in the 600 block of 14th Street in D.C. Doors would open at 6:30 p.m. for a performance that would begin, right on time, at 8 p.m. I travel alone, and prefer not to join tables, opting instead to sit where single seats are available. The Hamilton - Live offers both: most of the seating is in groups of 4- or 6-seat benches where groups gather, and there are rows of single seats on a slight rise above the forward seating, offering a great view of the stage and the screens above the stage. I arrived around 7 p.m. Within minutes Marie greeted me with a menu and instructions to post a card on a holder at my place, signaling her to stop by to take my order. The menu was eclectic, with sushi, pizza, tacos, salads, wings, cheeseburger sliders, and nachos. There are robust vegetarian and gluten-free selections, and a fully licensed bar. I placed the card in the holder at my seat and Marie returned to take my order: sushi - shrimp tempura ($14), with a can of Nutrl Pineapple ($8) and a double G&T ($23.18). The inside set up with table seating was absolutely incredible. The sound of music and atmosphere gives high quality. The food and drinks were really good. We ordered and shared everything from lemon pepper wings, Bang Bang shrimp and Alfredo pasta with Salmon. I treated my mom to see one of her idols Regina Bell for her birthday. She absolutely loved everything about this mommy and daughter date night. We had so much fun. My only con was I had to flag down my waiter several times after our initial orders were placed which was a bit disappointing. The food and drinks are on the pricey side with tip and gratuity added on the bill. Other than that, we had a great experience and I will definitely love to return in the near future. Parking can be street parking or garage parking which ever is easiest.

HARK! A TALE OF VALOR, FEASTING, AND GLORY!…read more 'Twas our first journey to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, and from the very moment we crossed the castle gates, we were utterly blown away! How a man can journey from a shopping mall in Baltimore and, mere moments later, find himself standing before a mighty castle, I know not. We were assigned to House Black & White, and naturally, we had but one duty: to stand at the tip of the spear and make our house heard throughout the realm! And by the King's beard, the feast did not disappoint! The dragon was prepared with great skill and was absolutely delicious. Our server, Julian, was a true champion of the realm and absolutely killed it from beginning to end. Then came the tournament... WHAT. A. SHOW. If I had to describe it to a commoner, I would say: WWE + Game of Thrones = MEDIEVAL TIMES. Jousting, sword fighting, horses, knights, drama, action, and enough excitement to keep the entire castle roaring. Our knight fought with honor, integrity, and bravery, and he had House Black & White fired up like we were preparing to storm the gates ourselves! Alas... House Black & White fell short of victory. But our knight fought valiantly, and we made certain the entire castle knew exactly which house stood behind him. We were encouraged to be the loudest house in the castle, and by the end of the night, I believe we gave it our absolute best. I walked through those gates wondering whether the ticket price would truly be worth it. I walked out wondering: "How in the heck do they make a profit putting THIS much into a show?" The actors. The horses. The food. The costumes. The sets. The production. The action. It is absolutely packed with entertainment from start to finish, and it's one hell of a way to spend a couple of hours with family and friends. I went in not knowing what to expect and left already thinking about when we could do it again. In fact... Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, may soon have a visit from House Black & White. If you've never been, GO WATCH THE SHOW! You shall not be disappointed. 10/10. Would feast, cheer, and battle again. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must return to my kingdom and await the next tournament.

Came back to see if Medieval Times was still worth my 4 star review. We arrived for our show and…read morechecked i. at the front kiosk and gave them our ticket information to look up. I upgraded VIP to the front of the row so that we could be close to the action, which also included a "VIP" lanyard. There were a number of upgrades available. We came in and were greeted by a pleasant person at the door, presented our ticket, and given a hat and banner for the section we were placed in (they have five different colored sections). Once in, they have an assortment of items available for purchase before the show starts. Souvenirs, photos, costumes, adult drinks and nonalcoholic ones as well. They make an announcement before the show starts of which door to stand in front of according to your section color. Once, the doors open, you are ushered to your area and seated. The show was great featuring knights, kings, queens, falcons, dancing horses, jousting competitions, sword fights, and the usual good versus evil trope. Between segments the food is served. The food, served renaissance style (no cutlery, you can request), consisted of an appetizer of tomato soup with garlic bread; main course of a quarter baked chicken, half a roasted potato, and corn on the cob; and a dessert of mini chocolate eclairs. They have substitute meal options available (inquire before show). The food was very good, except the mini eclair for me. They have unlimited soft drink refills. They also have staff that come around selling upgraded banners, lighted swords for the kids, photos, and adult beverages. The entire staff were pleasant and accommodating. They also have a segment of the show where they adorn the bell of that area and I was chosen! They give you a sash and you can have your picture taken for a fee...I just had one of the people I was with take mine for free! All in all, the four star rating stands and Medieval Times is perfect for a group, family, birthday, anniversary, family, or couples outing.

Usually you feel so rushed at these dinner/shows but we had plenty of time. The food was very good and there were choices that should have made everyone happy. I cannot say enough good things about this performance!! We absolutely enjoyed it. None of us had ever been to a Murder Mystery before so we were ready for something new! The 2 Cast members were amazing! They kept us entertained and laughing the entire time! At the intermission, they have coffee/tea and desert at the same time. We appreciated this because you're always too full to eat desert with dinner but this gave everyone plenty of time to be ready for the delightful carrot cake they provided. The 2 Stars also stood around after the event to talk to everyone and take pictures! I highly, highly recommend this event! What made it even more special was that I was able to take my 15-year-old also!

After that, I have to say things went off the rails a bit. For a start, this is the first "theatre" that had no stage. Not a small stage, no stage at all. We found ourselves, a group of 30-40 people crammed into a large room on the second floor with barely any room in July with AC so weak it was never below 76F. Then the show began. I was expecting a curtain to rise and a stage to appear, but sadly all the story and acting was done between the tables. I will say the acting ranged from surprisingly good to the obviously inispired acting of the audience members who decided to join in. The story was comedic and easy to follow, with references to Sherlock Holmes and even Indiana Jones. Sadly the heat and the terrible location without a stage made it hard to enjoy when the cast is constantly moving around. If they get a proper venue, I am sure they do wonderful things, but this was more like a test run. That I paid for.

I definitely see why they try to have everyone order and be able to bring the food before the movie starts. Other than that the setting is great. My only complaint today was the female restrooms. First off this movie theater is located in the high end Tyson Corners galleria mall so while you spending coin on those luxury stores it's here for you to grab a drink, food, and movie. Now we got there about 30 minutes before our 1015 show stared so we decided to sit at the bar to grab a drink and chill before we order our food and head into the movie. We went on a Friday night the opening of the Spider-Man movie and those people were out...lol. Me and my partner came to see Odyssey which was really good. But back to the bar experience..does off miss thang that was at the bar wouldn't take our drink order as we sat at the bar. She going to say I have to get up and order at the cash register which was not even a foot from where we were sitting. Like girl really!?! Then there's an already 20% gratuity added to your bill which I cannot stand! How is that included when your service could be piss poor!?! We ordered our drinks they came out the strawberry mango lemon drop was good but a tad bit too sweet for my liken but drinkable. Now my partner he ordered a drink with Hennessy which was really good! I made sure I ordered another one of those while we were in the movie. He then got up to order our food and we headed into the movies. The burger was so damn good and the truffle fries were crispy and hot. Lord that burger was so good...lol Now the bathrooms were atrocious and disgusting! Toilets were all clogged and had urine and other substances just all in the toilets. Like are you serious! Folks flush the toilet by holding down the button long enough instead of just pressing and walking away. So I'm not sure if it's the pipes or what but y'all need to get this together. Would I go back...maybe...only because of the drinks and that burger. But I'll make sure I use the restroom in the mall before heading into there because that was just ridiculous...Smdh

While scouring for a team building event for work, we decided to reach out to this company. Their website is forthcoming with a ton of information, but they were helpful on the backend of things. Purchasing tickets was easy, and it's great that tickets were available until the day of the event. I have never been to one of these things before but was kind of exciting. I have heard that it can be cheesy or campy, but I'm up for the camp. Who doesn't love dinner and a show? We had a large group, around 40 people or so and with prior warning they were able to make it work where our whole group sat in a designated area. That also kind of played into the whole way this played out. Before you come here they will send you an email with information on how to proceed. You will get confirmation numbers after you select your meal. Chicken, fish, or vegetarian are your choices. They also tell you that the actors will be intermingled throughout the crowd. Having four tables taken up by your group cuts down on who the actors are and helps you out in the end. The show is entertaining. I laughed a few times to the point where I had heads turn my way. The actors were spot on for their script and at the end of each act, which you should pay attention to, you are given a QR code to go through the clues. As the show is going on you are treated to a meal. But it is not obviously the best selection of food. As this is being hosted at a hotel, you are eating hotel food that you might find if you attended a banquet at said hotel. It fits the bill for dinner and a movie, but otherwise, nothing to write home about. Back to the show portion. I forgot to mention that you have a mingling session at the start. You are encouraged to go around the room and network to see if you can get any information on who you might think are the actors before you really know they are an actor. At the end, you get to write down your answers to see if you are right. You most likely will be right, but a majority of the room will probably be right as well. The thing I didn't like about it was that even though you might have the right answer, you most likely will not get picked as the winner at the end of the night. You will most definitely see that the winner will have been sitting at the table with the 'whodunnit' all along. It isn't that bad of a night. It is a great time to be had. You are paying for dinner and a show and that they deliver on. The actors are hilarious, and when they need to attend to business they attend to business. We had one person who needed a vegan option and they pulled through for us at the last minute. I really appreciated that.
