My parents took my 11-year-old son to this theater last night to watch Avatar. Their experience has me wanting to get this place shut down. First, they had to try and enjoy the movie with screaming kids in the front row carrying on and running up and down the aisles during the movie. My mom said there was a secure guard there but did nothing to stop this before being called away to take tickets. My mom explained the smell from these kids as pot followed by loads of body spray. She said they kept getting up and going somewhere to smoke then coming back reeking of perfume they tried to cover the smell up with. The whole theater smelled like this. Next, my kid goes into the men's rooms to find some guys doing coke. There was also sh1t all over the walls in one of the stalls. There were so many violations of health...I don't even want know what the kitchen looks like. read more

I came here to see a free movie screening and the overall experience was just average. First, I am very happy that the theater has finally decided to upgrade their seat to leather and reclining. The theaters are large, with large screens so they don't sell out as quickly and more people can fit. My issues: The legs portion of the seats does not fully extend, so your feet are only partially raised... yes, I want to be fully reclined when offered a reclining seat! Upon entry into the their there was sort of a funny smell and the crush velvet siding on some of the seats were stained, which gave me a sort of itchy feeling to see that. The space between the reclined seat and walk way was very small, people had a tough time getting through to get to their seats once a seat was reclined. Out in the lobby, Overall, I would come again, but this theater is not my preference. read more

They can definitely be a 5 Star theater but all the construction and some of the employees I have to stick with 3 stars. I have been to this theater several times in the past few years and i know they can do better. Yes they have been going through remodeling for quite a while but hey it will pay off I hope soon. I was a little worried about them having the remodeling and allowing patrons to still come when they didn't have certain areas blocked off. Children come here and with things laying around, we all know kids get curious and that's the last thing we need. The lines depending on the time can be very long since they now have the self service kiosk and the standard walk up to a human line. The self service machines are great AT TIMES!! I have used them twice at this location and it seems that one is down each time. During the busy hours this is a mess because for one there is no actual direction for lines for the machines so people are standing anywhere and just walking in front of people that have been there awhile...so it's causing chaos. I would have some alert system if possible when a machine breaks down and also create a sense of direction for lines for the self service machines. The new recliners in the theaters are so lovely! I am really hoping people keep them clean for as long as possible! So far I haven't had problems with the theaters being dirty. I new seats are leather and recline fully. They are nice and red and have plenty of space! There is a cup holder attached to each seat as well. The food concessions have changed a bit and they are suppose to be getting a bar but that isn't there yet. So far the food is pretty standard, there isn't any special food as of yet and I am not sure if they plan on adding anything fancy. They do have the new touch screen soda machines so that's pretty nice. Employees, listen up please!! When a customer needs help LISTEN!! We look to you guys for knowing the theater better than we do since you work there. Also even when it's not a busy time take the time to look up at the customer when taking there ticket and even when they walk out to the bathroom take a look so they can walk back in without so many questions to return. Just simply pay attention. Your phones can wait I promise!! When you are making someone's food order pay attention!! Making a hotdog and then dropping it off to the customer, sending a text and then getting their popcorn is NOT ok...again your phone can wait!! You are getting paid to treat the customers right!! If theaters are trying to bring people back to the movies, then AMC White Marsh needs to try a lot harder. The bad experience begins when you attempt to buy food. You order on a screen, then are told to walk around and wait for your number to be called. The place was overrun with frustrated customers standing there waiting and waiting and waiting for their food. At one point the team member tossed the popcorn on the counter so hard that it spilled all over the floor. Team members calling out numbers endlessly. Who at AMC thinks this is a good idea? It was just so tense and gross, and we hadn't even gotten to our seats. We felt like cattle. We went there to see Oppenheimer on their IMAX screen, and the theater was incredibly uncomfortable. The lounge chairs don't recline and they are packed too closely together. Very little legroom. As the movie started an employee walked in with a flashlight and was arguing with a customer at full volume. It was an evening as expensive as it was disappointing. read more

Other than watching a great movie, this theater needs new management. When I arrived the person who takes the ticket was not paying too much attention. As I walked the hall, I was disgusted by the amount of garbage and litter around. I felt like I was outside on an unkept street. As I walked into the theater more litter was all over the place. No one bothered to clean the theater (see pictures). I was disgusted. I plan not to go back to this theater. I hope that they increase their staff or plan a better way to keep up the theaters. I am all for people having jobs, that said, the AMC white marsh theaters remind you of something from the Jetsons. It is a very cold and sterile environment. Not many humans around for help. Everything is automation and it is very sad, I desire human contact. You buy your own ticket, no one at the bar (another staff member will be notified) buy your own meals, popcorn, drinks etc. Empty containers are sent to you to get everything yourself. If this is the future, I will stay home and watch my TV, or I will spend my money elsewhere. Very disappointing experience. I like this movie house. Always bright lights and very clean. A lot of choices on candy and movies to see.

The theaters themselves are okay but the management does such a poor job with the lobby and concessions that makes going to a movie at this theater such a horrible experience that I would not recommend to anyone. The lobby is always filthy with food and spilled sticky drinks all over the floor and the concessions are a horror show. We have waited more than 20 minutes for a simple order before, the concessions are understaffed and management clearly doesn't have a clue how to run this type of operation smoothly (or the theater is too cheap to pay for the staff needed for it to be successful). Everyone waiting for their food is grumpy and frustrated and if enough people are waiting, it becomes a case of the squeaky wheel gets the grease - those that force their way to the front of the crowd will get their order first no matter where their proper place is in the queue. I havent watched a movie in theater since covid atarted so im glad i got to experience the amc theather with my wife! Overall the theather has lots of parking and is convenient. We ordered our tickets online which made the experience more efficient. The prices for 2 tickets were about 35 bucks. The anacks were bery expensive so we opted not to buy, popcorn was about 8 bucks. There are kiosks where you can buy your ticket or snacks. The lines looked very long and the workers look like they were hustling. Granted this was saturday afternoon and the theaters did not seem very crowded. The theaters itself is not the cleanness but not terrible. There were popcorn on the chair before we sat, questioning how much the theaters get cleaned prior to the next show. The spacing of the seats are great and chairs are comfortable. The sound system was great and the theathers make you feel like what your watching is pretty real Overall the experience was good, just hope the theathers could be maintained a little cleaner read more

My son rented a theater at AMC Whitemarsh and it was the best idea ever! It cost $350 for up to 40 people and it was great especially watching Top Gun Maverick on the big screen with a great sound system and recliners. The bar wasn't open once again, however because the manager told us the bartender didn't come in--don't they think to have back-ups? They lost a bunch of $$ since we went across the Avenue to another bar. Concession stand is of course outrageous but it was a wonderful time and the first time I'd gone to a movie like that...BTW the movie was spectacular! Usually when I come to this theater we don't have to wait in long lines for tickets or drinks etc. (given we are stubs premiere members)! However today midday we were in premiere line waiting & only 1 cashier waiting on ALL customers! Then because we were paying cash it was going to take even longer as they told all people paying with cards to move forward and buy tickets at kiosk!! Hello-why am I a premiere member (paying for this) if they aren't going to abide by the rules & designated lines set up specifically for premiere members?? This location is definitely understaffed and in need of some review with current staff about the premiere lines vs regular lines. Thankfully we were early but this should not have occurred on a Tuesday afternoon. Positive- the movie was pretty good and everyone in our group enjoyed it. Had a lot of violence but it was a movie about the mob in the '70's NJ. I'd recommend the movie-might recommend trying to get to it on a cheap day/wouldn't pay full price. Tip- Tuesday at AMC with premiere stubs account costs $5/ticket. Also get discount on popcorn. read more

The IMAX option was great and we really enjoyed the film but the whole concessions area was a giant mess, both with people trying to figure out which machines work and then a whole crowd waiting for their items. First, I'm glad you're here reading this review because that's exactly what I did before going. I read many reviews to help guide my expectations. The outside of the theater had 4 petite trees with colored lights, the exterior was beautiful. The inside had nice decorations with boxes strewn throughout. Staffing was sparse, yet attentive for the most part. Excellence from the concessions stand (great smile), kitchen staff (flatbread pizza was worth the wait, thanks fellow helper) and the bartender (that was a good margarita). The ticket taker had a gruff demeanor, though her two tone hair was super cute. The theater layout was a little confusing, we sat in the wrong one but enjoyed great previews, haha. The seats were so comfy! It's true that if you recline fully, the view of the screen is obstructed. Last stop was the bathroom. It was the end of the night and the stalls were disgusting. Still, we'd reserve our seats and definitely go again! read more

Came here to see a preview of Ghostbuster 2 the theatre is still running on limited services. We were in the Dolby theatre and was t expecting what I received. It really a great experience for anyone. The seats are like a full feature alone. You feel all the rumbles, turns and special effects in the seats which my grandson thought was really cool. Pretty clean restrooms as well as the theatres were clean. Really wished they had heated seats like some of the other theatres we've tried but I like this one. read more

I only came here when I had a gift card and wanted to watch a movie in imax, so I came and spent too much money on a disgusting, and when I say disgusting- I mean it, theater. Howdy yelp, me and my friends decided to come out during discount Tuesday to see Detective Pikachu. The drive itself was a journey, 40 minutes on bumpy Baltimore roads wOooaaahhhh. When we got there the theater was packed, luckily we bought our tickets online so we didn't have to wait in line. However, concessions was a different story. I feel bad for the employees the way the concessions is laid out is in a circular formation so customers are assaulting from all sides. We got popcorn, drinks, and nachos. The nachos were very fun to eat, I enjoyed dipping the tortilla rounds in the warm cheese, which later got cold :( My favorite part of the movie is when the villain showed up on screen and my friend Megan said "I'd let him choke me" I unfortunately fell asleep and missed a good chunk at the end. I was very upset and will probably come back again on another discount Tuesday. When the movie was over my friend Anabelle lost their phone, but we found it eventually. This is my go to theatre. 16 screens so plenty of choices for showtimes. AMC A-list is amazing. $25 /month for 3 movies a week anytime, any format. I love the Dolby theatre. Unfortunately the IMAX theatre is tired and dated. Seats cramped. However every other theatre has been retrofitted with recliners. Concession purchases are self serve via kiosk only. Mildly annoying no actual people to take your orders. read more

The bathrooms are grotesque, the concession area is just filthy, the floors everywhere are filthy & sticky, & finally the theaters are grimy & you'll see rats occasionally. The movie and the seat were great but the theater was atrocious. There was trash all over the rugs and carpet entering into the theater even down the hall. The counters were filthy. They were butter all over the counter, and the butter machine. All the drinks were empty so there was barely any choice at all for drinks. There was "zero" customer service. This is my go to movie theater, it's pretty average. It's not fantastic but it gets the job done. It's super busy most of the time and the lines are sometimes outright ridiculous. Restrooms and concession are hit or miss. It's not always the cleanest but the seats are comfortable which is what's most important to me. It's also in a great location. There are many stores and restaurants nearby and lots of stores and live music around on the weekend to check out after your movie. Their app is one of my favorite parts of going here. I always buy our tickets in advance online and have to talk to one employee maximum. It makes it super easy to skip the lines. It is all around a good movie theater. Update: they made the concessions all electronic. You have to input what you want and pay using a touch screen. It has made the concession lines long and confusing. At its busiest it's just a whole cluster of people trying to figure what to do and where to go. I still regularly go to this theatre at least once or twice a week. read more

Bathrooms seem better at least than they used to be. They also have police officers with guns in the evening in the movie theater which okay, guess that's for safety but do they really need like four armed police officers for a movie theater? I grew up in Baltimore and I've never felt unsafe at white marsh, out of all places.... Management clearly doesn't care about the upkeep of the theater. I give it a few more years before the newness from the renovations to wear away and for it to be trashed again. The kiosks for concessions were a terrible idea. As someone mentioned, the kiosks are slow and not user friendly so people will take forever and a day to order. Long lines. Also, if you have AMC rewards to redeem the kiosks don't notify you so you have to flag someone down to try to get them to ring you up to use your points for concessions. read more

I only try to come here on the discount Tuesday's because it's just been going downhill within the past few years. The females bathroom is horrible, pee on all of the seats, no paper towels to dry your hands off with. The theatre itself was filthy I don't know what they have their ushers doing in between films but cleaning must not be a priority. Either your arm rests are sticky & greasy, the seat doesn't work at all, or you have old crumbs and popcorn in every crack and corner. I would try to find a better theatre if possible. read more

I have AMC A-list and this movie theater has made some of the most idiotic booking I've ever seen. Why are the premium screens being taken up by movies like Die Hard and Elf. This is December 9, 2023 and there are 2 incredible foreign films out (The Boy and the Heron and Godzilla Minus One) and the fact that this theater seemingly went out of their way to do this just goes to show the competency of the staff there. Service is always horrible and theaters are never clean. Twice I've gone to this theater and they even had the wrong movie playing! Absolutely terrible business sense. I'm not sure why the reviews are so low at this particular theatre. I come here all the time and I've never had any issues. The last time my recliner didn't work and an attendant came out right away and fixed it. The sound and picture quality is always good. Sure the bathrooms can be nasty sometimes but I can see why it's hard to keep it clean with the amount of people using the facilities. The parking is easy to get in and out and the location is ideal with The Avenues shops and restaurants. read more
