I really want to like this place, but find myself unable. Decor is OK, and of course it's really cool to have a wall of windows facing the airstrip. But. Nothing here was good in our experience. My wife got sick from the food, and I didn't finish mine. She had a philly cheesesteak, which was on a seasonal menu. Just terrible all around. I would like to describe my food as forgettable, but it didn't even reach that level. I had the Reuben sandwich and while it looked good, was not good and was surrounded by sides that were worse. We sat in the bar and the bartender was terrific, very nice and attentive. Sadly the bloody mary was very poor, almost nothing on the skewer and just not a good tasting drink at all. So if you just want a beer / wine with a cool view maybe, but I would not eat here and probably wouldn't expect much from any cocktail. read more

Came for a drink, stayed for the planes--and left the teriyaki behind. Popped in on a whim for a drink and some views, and honestly, this place has its own unique charm. Think Amelia Earhart meets upscale diner, with big windows perfect for watching planes take off and land. Aviation nerd or not, it's a cool spot to sip and stare. Started off strong with a cosmopolitan (which was delicious!) and a cold beer. So far, so good. The vibe? Chill. The views? 10/10. The steak bites? Tasty! The garlic bread that came with them... well, it could've used a bit of crunch. Okay, a lot of crunch. Then came the teriyaki bites. And here's where things got interesting. What we expected: a nice glazed bite. What we got: meat swimming in a pool of syrupy-sweet sauce that could double as dessert. Add in that same soggy garlic bread--paired with an Asian dish for some reason--and, well, let's just say we wouldn't order that one again unless we packed a snorkel. I've been to this restaurant before, sometime back. They were disorganized and the food was underwhelming. I gave them a couple of years to sort the bugs out. No such luck I came, for the sunday buffet today the food was uninspired, the eggs were cold very little of it looked like something I was anxious to try. The sausage links were cheap and nearly impossible to cut. The fruit was cut into bite sized pieces, but that must happened yesterday because the were leathery today. All in all the food was sub par. The service was...adequate if you don't mind answering three servers on what you want to drink, or if you're teddy to pay the bill you just paid. I will not be back. read more

First time here... server (Kelley) was abrasive and rude from the get go and kept giving my table and I dirty looks and sighing. I ordered a Bloody Mary and it was not good whatsoever. Very watery and zero spice. For food, I ordered the cheeseburger omelette which was very bland and had no seasoning or spices on it. The shredded hash browns were good though which was about the only thing this establishment had going for it. I miss the airport diner, sad to see what it has become. Will not ever go back here. To go items they give you 25 percent off. Very nice patio to watch planes come and go on a nice sunny day. KIDS playground next to patio a great hit. Absolutely Disappointed - Start to Finish My wife and I came in with an open mind and optimistic expectations, but we left beyond disappointed. From the moment we walked in, the experience went downhill fast. Service: The service was horrendous. Multiple staff members approached us to ask a question--only to say "hold on" and walk away mid-conversation. This happened eight or nine times, each followed by long, awkward waits. The place was not busy (around 3:30 p.m.), and they were clearly not understaffed, so there was no excuse for the disorganization or lack of attention. Drinks & Food: The drinks were overpriced and poorly made. The food? Equally bad. Most of it was clearly previously frozen and lacked any seasoning or care. The online menu didn't match the actual menu in-house, which was misleading and frustrating. We ordered: Appetizer: 1 lb steamers with bacon bits and dipping bread - Meh at best. House salad - Soggy. The house-made ranch was the only thing passable. Caesar salad - Inedible. Smelled awful, like it had turned. My wife and I each took a bite and were done. Main Course: Beef Stroganoff - Tasted microwaved. The beef was rubbery and overcooked, the noodles likely frozen and thawed several times. It went straight into the trash. Fish Tacos - Mushy and sour. It tasted like they were cooked early and left sitting out. The tortillas fell apart immediately, the slaw was watered down, and the sauce was unappealing. I forced down what I could and gave up. Dessert: Carrot cake - Tasted store-bought, maybe Safeway brand at best. Nothing homemade or fresh about it. Atmosphere: The environment felt cold and oddly quiet. Worst of all, there were flies and gnats everywhere. We spent most of the meal swatting at bugs. It was disgusting to try to eat with flies constantly landing on our food. --- Bottom line: We regret spending our money and time here. It was one of the worst dining experiences we've had in years. This place needs serious attention to food quality, cleanliness, service, and overall hospitality. We will not be returning. read more

Arrived for our 1PM reservation on Easter Day, and our party of six was promptly seated. Our initial waitress was not very pleasant, but provided us with the special Easter Day menu to order from and then disappeared for quite some time. When she finally returned to the table, she took our drink orders, was unable to answer what the soup of the day was, and disappeared again. When she eventually returned to the table, she said she was going 'off shift,' and another waitress would be helping us. The next waitress was Xenia (sp), who we found to be very pleasant and helpful. She promptly got our drink order from the counter, brought it to the table, and took our dinner order. However, she soon returned and explained that, although the Prime Rib was one of the featured Easter Dinner menu items, the kitchen was unable to cook any, and we had to order another item. Thus, two of us ordered another menu item. While waiting for our food, Xenia returned to the table several times to check in with us and to make sure our needs were fulfilled. When the food arrived, we found the two ribeye steaks to be overcooked, the potatoes and gravy to be cold, and the ham was very dry. When it came time to order desserts, Xenia apologetically explained that they were currently out of 4 dessert items. So we ordered from what was available, just to be told later, by Xenia, that she discovered they were out of 2 additional items that we had ordered. Ultimately, we only ordered 1 dessert item, the apple crisp, and shared it amongst us. In summation, while we enjoyed the atmosphere, the quality of the food was very disappointing, and the management's inability to properly plan and stock the inventory for a major holiday dinner is unacceptable. The ONLY thing that made this experience enjoyable was the courtesy and pleasantness of Xenia, our waitress. I hope she is properly compensated because, from what we saw, she is the only competent person working there. read more

I thought the food was great! Got the fish and chips on a Friday with clam chowder! I would suggest anyone to go and get some of the fish and chips. I will say I never got my water refilled and the table that we were sat at was dirty never got wiped out. The waitress was quite rude. Was pulling out my wallet to pay and as I was trying to grab it she said "Can I have your card I've got people inside and I need your card if you want to pay". My husband and I went to Amelia's for the car show and decided to stay for dinner. The host seated us at a dirty table instead of the clean one next to it and wiped it down. There were also other tables around us that remained uncleared the entire time we were there. We ordered the Wednesday deluxe burger and fry special that included our beverages. It took about 20 minutes for our meals to arrive, but our drinks didn't come until the food was served. I probably would have ordered another glass of wine if it was brought to me prior to my meal. My husband requested ranch and I asked for extra napkins, neither were ever brought. My spoon was dirty as well and I was completely grossed out at this point. The waitress apologized for the slow service. I received our check and I was overcharged for drinks, so I nicely said something and the waitress politely fixed the receipt, saying she doesn't usually work Wednesdays and it was busy. But we were there for an hour with only five other tables seated nearby. If the airport is advertising for a car show, why be so understaffed? Why couldn't the host help by serving drinks and cleaning tables? The burgers were good, but the lack of service, dirty tables, and overall disorganization made this a disappointing experience. read more

I'm not sure that the orange goo on the cheesesteak was even cheese. There was a relish on the cheesesteak, as well, which was a very odd addition. This was our first time here since it became Amelia's. Had crème brûlée for dessert and it was great! The wife and I had to go near Bremerton National Airport, so I suggested we swing by and grab a meal. I'd gone there a few times before but the wife hadn't. Both my wife and I were impressed with the atmosphere and vibe that was obvious upon entering. Definitely worth recommending just based on that. Now, the service was amazing - it was slower than normal (Sunday before Christmas) but I honestly was impressed with how personable our server was. We both ordered cocktails, upsized to a double (we rarely do - but would definitely recommend it especially here!!!) based on her recommendation and we were both happy with the decision. The ambiance is really cute with windows facing the airplanes to watch departures and landings. Our server was amazing and attentive. We came in Sunday April 21 between 2-4. Would love her to get the recognition she deserves but I didn't catch her name. My wife got the BLT and I got the chicken fried steak. Her sandwich was amazing. The bacon was crispy and it was well portioned. She said the soup was phenomenal as well which was a tomato bisque. The side of fries we got were worth mentioning as well as their dipping sauces. Everything tastes homemade. My chicken fried steak was really good. A little over board with the gravy but truly that's a preference few have haha. I have given Amelia's a few tries now over the last couple years since they opened and I have yet to have a good experience. Everytime the food takes FOREVER, the service is usually ok but not great, and I have gotten seated in the same spot every single time where you only get to see the parking lot and playground and are forgotten about. Apparently the kitchen is the problem (from what the waitress told us) but I am just done giving this place chances. Get a good staff and KEEP THEM. The only good thing is that the food usually tastes pretty good but waiting an hour to place your order, then waiting another hour to get your order is just insane. read more

I had a delicious prime rib sandwich at Amelias, but they charged and extra five dollars! For peppers and onions without telling me! The sandwich was small for the price as well, small bun not lots of meat, but it was very good! Pricey but good. Service was ok not great, not too friendly but she was over busy with too many customers I think. I had to ask for utensils. I would go back because I like the location and ambiance and there is nowhere in the area I like better. I hope they improve. It was $40 for just me out the door for a sandwich and a beer, pretty excessive.I will go back for the weekday specials. It was a bit of a splurge, treat myself kind of meal. read more

Came by to try their Prime Rib on a Friday at about 6pm. We were told it would be about a 40min wait, which we didn't mind. Their patio was busy and had some tables inside. They were playing music outside which was a nice addition to a sunny Friday evening. Our wait only ended up being 15 mins, pleasantly surprised! We were so set on the prime rib, but when we ordered we were told they ran out. Broke our hearts, but we were already there so we looked through the menu and they had a decent selection of burgers, steaks, sandwiches. I saw they had a Louisiana Oyster special, tried to order that but they were no longer serving it since it was a July special and they had not updated their menu. They had a chicken Marsala on the menu so I picked that. My daughter ordered the 4 cheese grilled cheese with tomato soup, and partner ordered the prime rib stroganoff. All the food we saw come out was a a good size and looked delicious! Unfortunately I didn't like my chicken Marsala. It just wasn't for me. Too much garlic and onions, and I wish it came with pasta or mashed potatoes, but I don't believe those were options. The Marsala sauce was just meh, idk, I just didn't like it, and think the chicken Marsala we make at home is more my taste. The fries I ordered with it were really good, though! Just how I like my fries, crispy but soft inside. My daughter liked her grilled cheese and tomato soup, though the soup came out first, not with the sandwich. How she likes to eat it- together, still liked it. Partner didn't really like his prime rib stroganoff. I think we were just so set on trying their prime rib and disappointed ourselves. Anyways, it wasn't the best meal ever, but a lot of people seem to enjoy it here! Come early for the prime rib so you don't miss out! It starts at 4pm, I believe and 6pm they ran out. Our family went for the first time because we had heard good things about their Thanksgiving buffet. Overall it was delicious and had everything you'd want in a Thanksgiving meal. The Service was Amazing! The restaurant was clean, cozy and the decor was nice. One downside is our kids ordered chicken strips and they didn't like them. They said it tasted like fish. Its a great place for brunch; two types of eggs one with cheese), ham, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, french toast sticks, two kinds of potatoes, bbq pork and a bun, slaw, fruit, desserts, and suuuuper service, at least at our table it was. And the senior age is 55! Its my understanding that they've been through some cooks, thats the era though, although they start out at a good rate, its a hard job and in Kitsap its difficult to live on $25-30hr.. The restaurant has great recipes they just need staff to stay long enough to really know the menu. There are many greats here; prime rib dip, toasted grilled cheese add bacon jam, chowder, steamers, the crab ladder, the soups, just to name a few. They did change the fries not so long ago though ;-/ I prefer the originals. If you have a problem talk to the owner he is great, he is often working himself or making rounds! Tried something new and it was really good. The club sandwich (they had some other name for it but it was like turkey, ham, bacon and the usual club-ish greenish stuff like lettice, tom) was ample and delish... Top it off with fries and a beer and it was the perfect post-flight. I'm a regular at the airport and pretty regular here too and it's consistently good and the staff are over the top cool and fun. I do miss their hamburger mac and cheese which is sadly no longer offered but they got lots of things I still like... dunno, maybe they don't get enough call to make it worth it to stock all they need but it was still my very favorite comfort food, but maybe I was the only one ordering it in which case I get it. Lots of great other things on the menu though and you should stop by if you haven't already. Great place to bring the whole family and watch the planes. Can get busy summer nights... and honestly it's most fun then especially with their awesome deck... but oustanding any time of the year (and it slows down a little in the winter with less airplane traffic). Rare is the spot that is awesome enough that I feel the need to write a review, but our experience at Amelia's Hangar at the Bremerton Airport last night was just that - awesome. Our waitress Xenia was spot on, attentive, funny, encouraging...I mentioned I'm eating keto and she talked me into the steamer clams to start. Sincerely maybe the best I've ever had as the clams come in an almost chowder like broth with lots of caramelized onions and bacon. I realize the broth no doubt had some carbs, but hey! Delicious! We also had the Artichoke Dip appetizer at the table and it was top notch as well (so I am told). Our mains were a ribeye ala Oscar, and prime rib. Both delicious. Karen then had a lemon and angel food trifle thing that looked great. The place has a nice modern restaurant vibe - not the diner feel the previous place had. Now it's all dark wood and brushed stainless - long rows of tables and booths along the taxi-way window, with a full bar area at the end of the room. My old fashioned was very good, and her chocolate martini was the same. They had a solo acoustic guitarist/singer in the bar and he was channeling the radio stations of my youth - perfect. read more

We ate here last night on our way home since it was on our way and we have been wanting to try it. We got there a couple hours before they closed but there were able to accommodate our party of 6 with kids. Service was ok, they were busy since they had a couple large parties earlier but they were attentive. The food options weren't as many as we hoped. No BLT sandwiches or those kind of pick up foods which my wife really wanted. They were out of oysters and salmon which was a bummer and they didn't tell us until we were ready to order. I ordered the Cioppino and it was ok. The broth was a little thicker than I expected and they didn't fill it with a lot of seafood, mainly tomatoes and broth. My son got a burger and it was well made and topped with some great tasting candied bacon. All in all we will be going back at some point as they are still relatively new and figuring things out. Next time I will have to order a steak dinner and try that. read more

First let me say this is a welcome addition to the restaurant wasteland in that area. Its a new building and decorated very nicely. It wasn't particularly busy when we got there about 12:15 on a tuesday but business seemed pretty steady. We were seated at a table that had a very cool beaten metal top and right by the window so we could watch the planes take off. The menu is pretty small and doesn't have some of the sandwiches that you expect, such as a BLT. they did tell us up front that they were out of halibut for the fish and chips and only had cod. Both my husband had a sandwich called the Crab ladder. It was a triple decker sandwich on toasted bread with crab salad, avocado, tomato and cheese. It was a huge sandwich and needless to say neither of us could finish all of it. Choice of sides were seasoned fries, coleslaw or house made potato salad. Since I don't care for seasoned fries I opted for for the potato salad but of course tasted the fries. They were ok, not highly seasoned but obviously out of a frozen package. The potato salad was disappointing. It had bacon and tasted of bacon but not like any potato salad I'd ever had. My friend had a prime rib dip which she said was tasty but the au ju that came with it was so salty she couldn't use it to drip the sandwich in. Her husband had the crab avocado salad which he said was ok but not wonderful, given the avocado halves were not totally ripe and difficult to cut. We both share slices of the lemon cream cake which was very nice and tasted light and had a definite lemon zing. Since we don't live near here doubtful we'll be back but it is for sure someplace that folks traveling to Belfair and points east might stop and enjoy read more
