However, you can freely sit at the bar and receive full service so we did that and sat down right away. Note that you can make reservations so i highly recommend it! The staff is very friendly. The decor definitely gives an upscale vibe, perfect for a nice brunch or date, and the restaurant has a nice bar space. We got the Huevos Rancheros and Classic Quesadilla. with Chicken. Huevos Rancheros is usually my go to but it didn't quite hit the spot this time. The sauce had a little too much lemon to me. I also wish there was less rice and maybe another side or something. The quesadilla was good. It was a hearty portion filled with a decent amount of meat (added cost). We've been here before and overall, the food is solid.

They confirmed they serve refried beans and that breakfast is available all day, although it might take a bit longer during lunch hours. That was enough for us to get in the car and head over to Brisbane. This is not a trendy or modern spot, but more of a good old fashioned Mexican restaurant. It focuses on simple, familiar dishes rather than trying to reinvent anything. When we walked in, there were only a few people there, and they seemed like regulars. It gave the place a comfortable, neighborhood feel. I ordered the generous chorizo plate, which came with scrambled eggs, refried beans, Spanish rice, and tortillas on the side. The menu said it included three eggs. If that is the case, they must have been on the smaller side. The chorizo was decent, though milder than I expected, and the eggs could have been cooked a little less. Still, it was a solid and satisfying meal overall. George left most of his rice but ate the rest of his food, and I finished everything on my plate. The restaurant was clean, and the owner was friendly when we spoke with him. The service, however, was a bit hands off. My water glass was never refilled, and no one checked back to see if we needed anything else, which I found a little annoying. Even with those minor issues, there is something appealing about the place. It feels like a local staple with a steady group of regulars. I am interested in going back to try more of the menu. Brisbane has ample parking without meters.

Growing up, my family and I frequented to Taqueria Guadalajara- but this all changed for me in the past few years. El Farolito always has flavorful food, good portions, and is reasonably priced. This specific location of El Farolito is my favorite because of its proximity to other businesses I go to and the customer service is great. I either get a shrimp burrito or steak quesadilla, but today I decided to get a steak and shrimp burrito as a treat along with chips and a pina jarrito. They serve you rather quickly, and I'm not lying when I say that El Faro has some of the best Mexican food in San Francisco.

First time at this excelsior el farolito. I've been going to the mission one for over 20 years. Even went to South Bay one. Today the table had green salsa on it. No problem. Found a new table. But the issue started when I told the guy I had chemotherapy yesterday & can't use community salsa (doctor's rules). I asked if I can have the chef put the salsa verde from his stash in the taco directly. Cashier guy says "oh mija, my sister went through that I pray for you." But he tells me they "only put the hot salsa on tacos." Ok I need the green mild one. Now I see chef putting the damn green salsa on a burrito. So I ask him for his non-communal salsa verde. He already wrapped my tacos so I asked if he can put it in a little cup. He says no, go to salsa bar. I told him I can't go to a communal salsa bar. Showed my damn bald head, I have a dumb ass mask on and said I can't today. I gave him a Little cup and kindly asked if he can put his green salsa in, but he says no. Go to salsa bar. Then cashier comes up and says, "he would have to go ALL THE WAY back in the kitchen (15 steps) to get your salsa." Mind you there are two people at register ordering. Not 10 or even 4 people in line. It would take 10 seconds out of this man's day to get me non-communal salsa for my safety. The one I took for my son is out all morning and to the afternoon with people Picking at it. I get it. It's not that serious. I'd eat it if I could but I can't per the nadir chemo rules. It is what it is. Not end of world but But it was a strong indication they did not care about me. Now I wonder what happens when they drop something on the floor. So I'm NEVER going back to any of them. I'd suggest you think twice. La Taq has best burritos. El Farilito was my place for tacos. Not anymore. Bye. PS I had even tipped the guy prior To all this and he said "thank you mija!!" Yeah right.

The food looked delicious, eye candy. Parking is limited. It's a small place, but big enough to come in with a fairly large group. We walked in and sat down. I noticed a huge counter with a big television screen playing music videos of Latin music, jamming. There were a couple of tables and cultural decor. It was clean and inviting. The server greeted us and brought us chips and salsa verde. The salsa verde was to my liking, perfect amount of spicy. The server came back and took our orders: - Caldo de res (my order), came with rice, tortillas, and cilantro with onions - Grilled chicken tacos - Chicken quesadilla My caldo res was tasty and so good. I love the flavor of the broth. Big portion for me. I finished it though lol. I tasted hubby's tacos and quesadilla, also yummy. I love that they grilled the chicken, gives the flavor more depth. This will be one of our local spots. Thank you, El Taconazo for cooking for us.

The shrimp cocktail had a lot of shrimp, avocado, and cucumber which was delicious. But the actual cocktail juice was light in flavor. I also loved that they serve saltines with their shrimp cocktail because some places just give chips. The fried fish was delicious and unfortunately I wasn't able to try the aguachilles before they ran out which might mean they were good.

The birria tacos came with 3 regular sized tacos and honestly each one is pretty dense with meat and cheese. The consome also had some meat although, I think it was beef and not goat. Everything was tender but the flavor was just ok for me. My mom wanted a carnitas super burrito and this was pretty good. Lots of meat and some bits were crispy just how I like it. I wouldn't mind getting it again but I do want to try their al pastor next time. Their fish plate was pretty good as well. Loved the crispness of the fish and it didn't feel greasy or heavy. It came with avocados, rice, beans, lettuce and 4 flour tortillas. I wouldn't mind getting this again. A basket of chips came for each person as soon as we sat down and there was a healthy selection of salsa. I didn't care for the chips itself as they were too salty for me. The ambiance is very festive and there were plenty of people coming in and out. We dined in and found myself wishing they gave real silverware rather than plastic. We were only give one real fork for the fish and it was difficult to break apart. Their plastic cutlery was also pretty flimsy so we mostly ate with our hands. Overall, I'd still come back and try other dishes.
