Hubby and I were looking to try a new place and this restaurant happens to be local for us. I checked their yelp page and saw that there were good reviews with supporting pictures. The food looked delicious, eye candy. Parking is limited. It's a small place, but big enough to come in with a fairly large group. We walked in and sat down. I noticed a huge counter with a big television screen playing music videos of Latin music, jamming. There were a couple of tables and cultural decor. It was clean and inviting. The server greeted us and brought us chips and salsa verde. The salsa verde was to my liking, perfect amount of spicy. The server came back and took our orders: - Caldo de res (my order), came with rice, tortillas, and cilantro with onions - Grilled chicken tacos - Chicken quesadilla My caldo res was tasty and so good. I love the flavor of the broth. Big portion for me. I finished it though lol. I tasted hubby's tacos and quesadilla, also yummy. I love that they grilled the chicken, gives the flavor more depth. Was in the mood for seafood and this place popped up on Yelp as a recommendation. Ordered the fried fish, shrimp cocktail, and aguachilles. The shrimp cocktail had a lot of shrimp, avocado, and cucumber which was delicious. But the actual cocktail juice was light in flavor. Because we took it to go I was able to doctor it up with some extra cocktail sauce, horseradish, hot sauce and lemon. I also loved that they serve saltines with their shrimp cocktail because some places just give chips. The fried fish was delicious and unfortunately I wasn't able to try the aguachilles before they ran out which might mean they were good. read more

Food was soso. We ordered super chicken burrito and menudo. Burrito was too bland and not enough sauce and cheese. Menudo was too spicy. It was a small Mexican restaurant and only one person working in the front and one guy working in the kitchen. It was kind of home cooked. You needed to look for street parking. read more

Recently attended to this local place and just want to say ¡wow! The food was great and it is beautifully presented, the prices are not bad as well compared to other latino restaurants, the salsa was excellent. The waitress was very friendly and the food was fastly served, we ordered Chilaquiles, quesabirria and some egg with ham for the baby, they even threw in some beans and rice for him at no extra cost, the place might be a little small if you are a larger party but the place overall is very clean and nice looking. read more

I had the Caldo de Camarón. It was amazing, flavorful with perfect seasonings to compliment the fresh shrimp (10 pieces). Also had fresh zucchini, carrots cabbage. Comfort food for sure! I would order this soup again! read more

This is more of a sit-down restaurant than a traditional taqueria but the menu was not as large as I expected it to be. I decided to get a carne asada plate which came with two small pieces of thin steak and sides of salad, rice, beans, and tortilla. The steak was marinated well and nicely cooked, I just wish there was more of it, given the plate cost $18. Parking can be a little difficult given it's only street parking on Mission but we were luckily able to nab the spot right out front. read more

My husband and I just came back from a vacation in Mexico and we were missing the authentic food from Mexico. So I went on yelp and found this place. It was soo good! The best thing is their quesabirria tacos! They're only available on the weekends but are so worth it. Loaded with cheese and griddled crispy, I absolutely love these tacos. The other item that I crave often from here is the tostada mixta. A crispy tostada piled with aquachile mixta (shrimp and octopus), onions, cilantro and avocado. You can order on the phone in advance for pickup and it's cash only. Overall service is fast and there's a good amount of tables available if you would like to dine in. read more

No wait, and still no customer service. Ordered 60 dollars worth of food, and got ONE salsa. Asked if chips were included, and got nothing in the bag. No smiles and no positive energy. Was kind of nervous to try this place since it looks so small. I got the el taconazo, three tacos of steak, chicken, and shrimp. The tacos were super good! I finished every single bite. I should of taken a picture of my plate after I finished, it looked like it was licked clean. My husband got a burrito and kept staring at my tacos haha. After moving to Daly City, this is my first Mexican place I have tried, I don't know if I will try any other! The horchata is also very good, very refreshing! Me and my fiancé go to burrito spot was closed today and decided to try this place out because of the good reviews. Order 3 items Chicken burrito mojado which was ok but big thats why i gave it a 2 star. Order 2 super burritos 1 chicken and 1 steak. For the price of $14.99 each they were looking small. They were small because they ended up giving me regular burritos. There were no sourcream no guacamole just the meat rice cheese and pico de gallo thats it. With tax I spent $52 dollars for 3 burritos and was not happy with all 3 of em. Drove from south city to daly city just to try this place and was very disappointed. read more

Went here the other day and the service was straight ass .... We sat at or table waiting to be serviced but they didn't come with menus or anything at all .. sat there for about 5-10 mins and still didn't come up ... felt like there's a bias if you don't speak Spanish or don't look the part ... don't go here bruh ... we left after we didn't even receive a menu .. hope they are reading their reviews cuz the stars on this business are misleading read more

This past Wednesday I had the HUGEST craving for menudo, which is a weekend offering at most Mexican restaurants. After a long search in my area, I finally found El Taconazo in Daly City and it was so so good!! Flavorful with plenty of tripe, garnishes, and tortillas. Delivery was quick and it totally hit the spot. So now you know, menudo everyday. YEA!! I ordered a super michelada and it's delicious. The shrimp are super tasty and the Michelada was spicy and just perfect. I definitely recommend it. To eat, we ordered the camarones a la diabla extra spicy level and they did not disappoint. We also ordered the botanazo appetizer and the mixto molcajete. This is definitely the place to come for mariscos and seafood, and don't forget about the super michelada! read more

I've haven't been here since I was in high school , and it was my favorite taquerias that were nearby school since the other good ones are in mission , but it changed so much since I came it's all newly renovated and painted i remember when it was all red and it felt like home. But I still like the new look , anyways definitely would recommend the food is always on point made fresh and hot and pretty fast, and made with that mom and pop love. Took the servers recommendation for the Camarones en Chipotle sauce. Served with rice and beans that tasted homemade. The shrimp was plump and juicy, and the sauce was just spicy enough. Will definitely come back next visit. read more

We all have one of those moments that we suddenly crave for a particular food, and the thought of nachos was growing throughout the day. This place was clean and friendly. I wasn't expecting a Spanish quiz by a local customer ahead of me, but it gave me a feel of a good neighborhood restaurant. Needless to say that the nachos hit the spot, but the real surprise was their red/hot sauce that came with my order. It was flavorful with a nice kick, and the heat kept building with each bite. I'll have to try out more of their dishes even just for the sauce. Parking is only metered spots at the front, but there is public parking across the street behind Bank of America, or you can try the Walgreens/shopping plaza parking lot around the corner as well. And remember, it's cash only here. read more

Just left having a great meal with my husband. I had 2 super tacos one grilled chicken with whole beans the other with shrimp. They were both so delicious and fresh tasting. We also had the al pastor taco barbecue pork really yummy. The service was friendly and great. The presentation was beautiful. The restaurant itself was meticulous. I had not visited this little place since before they remodeled, and I had no idea they had done so--so that was a pleasant surprise! The joint is clean, well-presented and organized, simple, and artistic. I'm very glad this business survived the pandemic. The service was wonderful. Like many Mexican eateries, they bring chips and salsa automatically, and the salsa includes a spoon! I love that, because I often like to spoon salsa onto my food while eating, and most other places do not think ahead in that way. They also brought a cold pint glass of water with ice, which is nice, but I would recommend they only do that by request from now on due to the severe drought our state is facing. Otherwise, water might get wasted unnecessarily. I ordered Machaca (shredded beef) with eggs, and it was fresh, delicious, and filling. Refried beans and rice accompanied the entree on a colorful and decorative rectangular plate. At least four corn tortillas came in a side container. The magenta-colored flower placed on the plate as a garnish was a beautiful touch! To drink I tried their horchata (cold rice drink), and it was perfect! There seems to be two kinds of horchata nowadays: the overly-sugared instant type that leaves tons of sediment at the bottom and is really not drinkable, and the properly made type that has lots of flavor (including a hint of chocolate malt flavor) and is truly refreshing. This was the right stuff, and I told my server as much. In summary, I recommend this restaurant very much. The food is tasty and fresh, and you won't leave hungry. The staff is attractive and professional. The prices are right in the middle or average range, not expensive at all. I wish this business well, and I will be back with more people next time. read more

Super good food! Small storefront with a few table right on the main road, parking is super hard to find. They weren't super busy so everything was really quick. Service was good, friendly and fast. My nearly $15 'Super' carne asada burrito was a bit dry. No evidence of sour cream, pico, and ? promised on the menu. Just meat beans and rice. Oversight or miscommunication? The carne asada had the decent flavor of real steak but was chopped in a manner that rendered it on the chewy side. I'll give them another chance. read more

The shrimps were de-shelled with tail removed, but not deveined. Halfway through my meal, I realized this was meant for two people. It is a big dish. The highlight for me was the smoky bacon. It was a nice surprise to find bacon at a taqueria. Service was good for an order at the cashier type of restaurant. Their other location by SF State University has good taco salads. It was served with a generous portion of onions and cabbage but no Mexican oregano. They do have it, I guess you just have to ask! Salsa bar has 3 salsas- red, green and orange. There are also 2 other items there such as pickled red onions and pickled/lime cucumbers, Serrano or jalapeños and red onions. Yum! Michelada came in a frosty AF mug which is reason in and of itself to come by. So good.

I chose pollo pibil for my protein which was moist & flavorful. -- the tomato sauce on their Empanadas de Piccadillo tastes fresh & slightly tart, & the pickled onion topping offsets the ground beef's richness. -- their michelada is dangerously easy to drink; light & refreshing with barely a hint of beer taste. I'm not surprised Cochinita is poppin' for dinner; who wouldn't want comforting food & drinks to wind down the evening?
