These people are working at the apartment complex where I lease. They threatened to tow my cars without any prior notification per law. One of their employees also threatened to bill me $4,000 because he thinks he's a above the law. I have stress related health issues. Being threatened because of mismanagement before 7 in the morning is ruining my day. I'll file complaints anywhere I can and possibly pursue compensation for emotional and health related damages. This company is not professional and deserve lower than 3 stars. read more

I don't recommend this company. They're asphalt work is inferior. Cracks appeared in less than 2 months, roots began sprouting even sooner. Parts of the black top unraveled. They patched it but wanted to charge me again for the sealing. Buyers, pass on these guys. read more

I would highly recommend American Asphalt. Patrick and his team did a great job. They were reasonably priced and the quality of the work was superb. The entire staff was very knowledgeable and Patrick kept me informed of the process the entire time and answered all my questions timely. Our street was in major disrepair and they were able to demo and redo the asphalt quickly. Getting the street sealed afterwards is well worth the money! This is a really great, local company. I contacted them along with a handful of other concrete experts in town. American Asphalt & Concrete replied immediately and answered all my questions promptly. We even exchanged photos, talked on the phone (Bob was fantastic! A real old-school expert--no nonsense, clear, conscientious, etc.), went over some concerns I had on a project I started myself. They even accommodated my craziness with all my COVID requests & concerns (masking, distancing, etc.). They showed up on time and cleanly and efficiently completed the job. Look around, you may find a cheaper price but it will be just that: cheap. Bob and his crew do it right. And even though the job was small, I felt that they treated it as just as important as larger jobs. I hope to hire them again soon for a much larger project. read more

I am the head of maintenance at skydive San Diego and wouldn't use anyone else on future jobs. I have used these Guys twice. Once for a driveway project, the second time for repaving our common area. They removed some pesky roots, patched the troublesome areas and applied a black-coat over the finished product for uniformity. Billy is super responsive, helped us figure out what we needed. Would give zero stars if possible for their crap ass job of repaving our roadways. We are a smallish HOA community and contracted out with American as their bid was quite competitive. Little did we know that all they would send out was a single guy with a tiny machine about the size of a floor cleaner. They didn't bother to sweep or clean the roadways inside the HOA. Sure enough not quite 6 months later it started to flake up everywhere. They wouldn't return our phone calls or respond to our certified letters. DO NOT USE THEM! read more

I got several bids, and their's was right in there with the other six companies I had contacted. What got me, was the quality of the communications I had from the start with them. So, I checked out some other jobs they had done and I decided to go with them. I was not let down. The workmanship and materials used were of the highest quality, the workmen were professional and polite. The office people, Greg, Billy and Naomi were super in working with us with our payments and just communicating with all of us. My company hired American Asphalt and Concrete to redo the parking lot at my job, and they did super good work! They had a crew of workers there, before I got to work. They worked super fast and cleaned up everything when they were done. The parking lot looks really nice and feels way better to drive on. They did really good traffic control too. It was super easy to park and get into my building around them. I appreciated that because when I saw them I didn't think I was gonna be able to park. I know nothing about asphalt but if I needed to get some I would definitely call them! read more

We recieved a bid from this company for asphault. We accepted there bid - it was not the lowest - it was one of the highest - however we thought that we would get what we paid for. They did get the job done quickly, and when I inspected it when it was being done all looked good. We went out to the lot the day after we paid and it had rained. There were pools of water where the asphaut was dipping. I called the estimator and the company promptly, and to this day I have not had a call back. I would not use or reccomend them to anyone. read more

This company does not work safely. They did not barricade the work area they were working or cover up the trenches they dug. I was driving into work and turned into one of there trenches they dug over the weekend. No cones to block off the trench. They partially covered the trench but that is about all they did to keep people away from driving into the trench. Just like the previous reviews they were also unresponsive to me when I asked for them to repair my car due to their negligence. Think twice about using them. read more

If I could give no stars, I would. This company was used where I live to redo the asphalt. I live in a gated community and the way in which they had our complex taped off was ridiculous. I was trying to leave for work and couldn't get out/around the taped off areas. So I tried back tracking to go a different way to get out of my complex. One of the gentleman flagged me down and was COMPLETELY rude and clearly failed to realize he isn't the only person on this planet with a job. Telling me I shouldn't be driving around (which I totally understand given there is fresh asphalt/tar being redone) however I told him I was trying to leave for work and that I couldn't get out because they had the exit tape to which he responds "Well you should have done that this morning". I'm so sorry that a person leaving for their damn job was so inconvenient. God forbid people have a different work schedule than you, you asshole. His lack of professionalism really rubbed me wrong about 8 different ways. If I was really that much of an inconvenience, I'm glad since he was an asshat. read more

After meeting with Chad several times we decided that American Asphalt was the company for us. Chad listened to what we wanted, gave us great advice and ideas, along with several different options. We loved that!!! This company gave us the royal treatment from beginning to end they delivered everything they promised and more, they were on time, clean, and efficient.
