Auto Transporters is a contractor and contracted Yellow Transporter out of Fl to transport our friends car from Fl. When I called, I asked for the same company and the same driver Julio. Dorothy at Auto Transporters made all the arrangements. She took the credit card payment, emailed me all the documents and provided proof of insurance for Yellow Transporters. She was so kind and professional as I called a few times with questions. The driver picked up the car on a Friday and delivered the car on Sunday at 1:00 pm. I received text messages notifying me when the car would be at the delivery destination and also for initial pick up. The driver arrived exactly on time and he was so nice. Thank you Julio! Extremely disappointed and disturbed. I agree completely with Yelp Reviewer Sandy H. I had almost the EXACT same situation. They completely DAMAGED my vehicle. I have used them before and I will NEVER use them again. Shipping car from Florida to Canton. I was charged $1000, fair price. Man inspected car before shipping (made note that a MARK/scratch was on the back bumper). I was in Florida dealing with flying back and issues with COVID. So, my ELDERLY father picked up the car for me. He saw that they marked off a spot on the bumper. He called to confirm and I said yes, there was a mark there. He didn't realize what was there prior wasn't the damage that was there when dropped off. What REALLY happened along the trip was the entire bumper was dislodged. Upon exiting onto the road, my elderly father realizes that the bumper began flapping and almost FELL OFF. He had to tape it back on. When I returned, due to a delay because of COVID. I saw the damaged and immediately called. They were RUDE and decided it was MY FAULT. Whoever picked it up or dropped it off completely pulled off the back bumper. They accused me of lying. (I have been a faithful customer, I was not lying - why would I lie?). Now I see that the same experience in the SAME month happened to another customer - this tells me that they are to BLAME. That's not a coincidence. This is a despicable place, who does not care about their customers or the cars. This is $600 of damage. I would never send my car with a dislodged bumper, that is ridiculous. THEY DAMAGED THE CAR AND TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY. I intend to team up with some other undervalued and mistreated customers to pursue a lawsuit on this. Do not go to these people. Used American again and it was a phenomenal experience. Yes, their price was slightly higher. But I was able to pay by credit card with no cash or certified check requirements. I called on Friday morning and advised them I'd like to move my car from Naples, FL to Boxford, MA as soon as possible. She advised me they could pick it up that weekend and would call later to confirm which day. A call on Friday afternoon confirmed pickup for 9 AM Saturday morning. He was there on time and told me he would deliver Monday or Tuesday and would call ahead with a time. He called Monday and delivered Tuesday within a few hours of the promised time. That was an almost perfect experience. And the driver couldn't have been any more pleasant, respectful and professional. Five Stars Nick only because six wasn't an option. read more

I used American Auto Transporters as a terminal, so that I could drop off my car on my schedule and the driver could pick it up on his schedule. The process was straightforward and the owner (general manager?) took me to the train station. It was only a five-minute drive, but he didn't need to do that. I figure that if he treated me well (and I wasn't even a customer) then he probably treats their customers well, too. I used a different broker to ship my car. So, I can't speak to their auto shipping service specifically. One word of advice: I'd suggest using a local broker to ship your car. I learned that lesson the hard way when the original company that promised to ship my car didn't come through. That's why I had to leave it at a terminal - I was leaving town the next day. With the internet, the prices are pretty competitive. You'll sleep better knowing that you can go to the office and speak to someone face-to-face. I suspect the service is better when the company knows you're local, as opposed to just a voice on the other end of a long distance phone call. read more

Horrible customer service. I was told my car was going to be delivered in 3- 4 days from Canton to Florida. I called after 4 days because I got no updates as to when the car would be delivered, and they couldn't even tell me where my car was. After 6 days I was told by them to contact the carrier company to find out the status. I did just that and SWAD-- the carrier company told me that they didn't know where my car was and to call American Auto . Seriously -- it took 8 days and so much aggravation to finally get my car. I will NEVER use them again for auto transport and I highly recommend you to find another more reliable company if you choose to have your car shipped. read more

Nicolas Hunter was very helpful when I set up my reservation to ship my car from CT to TX. He assured me that the price he quoted was exact and will not change. The price he gave me was very reasonable, considering it was door-to-door delivery. Other companies that had quoted me around Nicolas' price involved me driving to drop off and pick up the car. Very inconvenient if you're moving halfway across the country. But, once it was on the truck, it stayed on the truck until Texas and arrived undamaged. Usually your car will go from truck-to-truck if it's going a long distance, which increases the risk of it being dinged up. I give this company 3.5 stars. The reason why I can't give it more than that is because it took the company over a week to pick up the car. Although I was told that pick up date is not guaranteed, I think it was a bit unreasonable for that long of a gap. So, if you use this company make sure you book the pick up date, well before you plan to leave. Luckily, I left the car at my in-laws' house and they made sure the car was picked up. The day the car was picked up, I received a call from the company telling me that a driver was on the way. I would recommend this company! read more

Nick, the owner, is very responsive and willing to do anything but the problem is he says, yes, but doesn't write any changes down so we moved pick up 3 days out and they called to pick up on original date. Then I needed the car in CA and gave them a drop dead date and they said sure but in reality they never wrote it down. It was only because i called to confirm that I found it was going to take 12 days to get my car. Then Nick went to work and made sure the car was in CA on my drop dead date. The car arrived in CA and AA transporters said it would be there on a Wednesday but they really have no control over delivery date. Make sure you get the name and number of transport truck and company. Price was reasonable compared to others. If only AA Transporters would write more of the info down I would have given them a 5 read more

Very dissapointed with my experience. American Auto Transporters came highly recommended to me by a couple of people which is why I went with them even though they were the most expensive. I called made arrangements got my contract, reviewed it immediately, found an error in the address, called right back corrected the error, and asked for a revised copy to be emailed which I received. We weren't going to be in FLA to receive the car so I signed a waiver for them to just drop the car. If it weren't for the People at Mikes Auto Towing in Venice Fl I'm sure the car would have been lost forever. Not one single piece of info or document was sent to Mikes Auto all of the information they had was completely incorrect. No waiver, wrong address. Absurd. Really unprofessional, and unapologetic when I called. I mean that is the entire point of their business, thats it, to get your car to its destination. I got a call from the driver stating he would be at my house in 2 hours- this was 2 days before he was supposed to be there!! He said if he didnt come today he could not guarantee he would be back in the area in 2 days!! He said "your car will be there 2 days earlier"- like that was supposed to make me happy. The problem was - I was not going to be at the pick up destination 2 days early!! It all worked out but it was very inconvenient to say the least. Funny. My recent review was deleted. Terrible customer service even by Nick, the owner. Never returned our calls and when I asked to speak with him in person about what happened, I was told he was just leaving. We dropped off a vehicle on 6/22 to be shipped down to TX and was told it will be there on 6/29. 6/29 rolls around and still no car. Both my husband and I called to see where it was and it was still in their lot!! We had my mother's car shipped using this company. They were supposed to deliver the car in the afternoon. They didn't deliver the car back until after 9pm. Turned out there was damage to the car we didn't see until the next day. They had left a window open during transport and the interior was soaked. This company was recommended to me by a guy at Gentle Giant. I've only had good experiences with Gentle Giant so I figured that I could trust their opinion. I called the company to schedule a pick up and they gave me a date and time (10am). They called the day before the pick up was scheduled to say the window would actually be 12-2. Annoying, but fine. 2 o'clock rolls around and I haven't heard from them. I'm getting nervous because I have to get back to work. I call and the guy says he was running late. I asked him why he didn't call to tell me. He claims he was going to, but I beat him to it. He ends up getting there around 3pm though they had initially said 10am. It's like 2:50 and when I bring up the fact that I wish they would've called to let me know they were going to be late. The guy says, "I said I'd get here by 2 and it's still 2. I said, "No, it's nearly 3. Very rude! I called for an estimate on when my car would arrive. They said Monday. Monday rolls around and no one calls. I call them and they say Tuesday in the afternoon. Tuesday I hear nothing. I call on Wednesday morning asking where is my car? It finally arrives that day. The annoying thing is that they never called me with updates. I always had to call them asking where my car was. To top it off I then have to deal with another rude driver upon arrival. I get a call from the driver when he arrives: He asks if he can park inside the gate that leads to my building. I say that there should be enough room as gentle giant was able to get a huge tractor trailer in here. He seems skeptical. I say to him that he can come inside the gate to take a look. He says no that he'll drive in. He gets here and rudely says that there is not enough room. "How am I supposed to turn?" Uhh I asked you to get out of your truck, come inside and take a look before you drove in. Overall this was a frustrating experience. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They lack professionalism and basic courtesy. I don't know why anyone at Gentle Giant would be endorsing this company. Ridiculous! read more

We have used them before but this time $150 supplies went missing from our trunk. Various excuses were given including redistibuting the contents due to weight!, can't imagine how that happened!, the get-out not covered for contents (no , but happy to take almost $1000 per trip with money paid upfront , no deposits allowed, ) etc etc. Surely a decent customer service is worth more to a business than a $2000 annual round trip loss of revenue from us and from many of our friends, some current customers and several at least retiring and hoping to do the snowbird annual trip. I had a great experience with American Auto Transporters. I entered my auto and shipping information on their web. I got a call back in 10 minutes. They arrived the next day on time to pick up my car. I was able to call to track my car and get an estimate for delivery. The day before delivery the driver called me and gave me a 2 hour range for delivery. The next day 30 minutes before the committed time the driver called again with the 30 minute notice that my car would be delivered. The car arrived in perfect condition. The pick up and delivery have been good, however the cars have been extensively dirty inside. On the last trip from Hollywood Florida to Massachusetts my SL 550 had grease all over the seats and the floor mats had to be replaced because of grease all over them. I am shipping both cars with another carrier due to these issues. read more
